I have a feeling that Babe was really nervous about integrating into the pack since they were unempowered and (depending on if you think Angel came before them or not) was the first unempowered mate or was the newest unempowered mate.

So how did they cope with this? By having a notebook full of all the little things they learned about the pack and its mates.

Pages are scattered and random, just scribbled notes whenever they hear something.

For example:

Sweetheart knows...at least two languages. Maybe more. Further testing required. Spanish was expected. Korean was not.

Pretty sure Sam only owns flannels. Definitely sure that it drives Milo crazy.

Darlin used to have a smoking habit. Doesn't like to talk about it. Probably something to do with Quinn. Still coughs like a smoker though. And carries a lighter.

David chews on his lip when he's thinking, bites his nails when nervous. Remember the difference.

Milo owns a cat!! Calls him Aggro, no idea if that's his full name or just a nickname.

Darlin does tricks with their lighter when bored. Stresses David out, thinks they're going to catch a spark on their jacket and light themself on fire. To his credit, I wouldn't be surprised if that did happen.

Angel is the last to fall asleep at sleepovers. How they stay up until 3 AM then wake up at 8 being fully refreshed is worth scientific testing.

Sweetheart makes the most intense eye contact. Probably part of their investigator training but it's a little scary.

Milo judges everyone's outfit whenever they enter the room. Every time. Quick flick up and down. Head tilt if he approves. Eyebrow twitch if he doesn't.

Sam's house has no pictures of him from before the turn?? Is that a normal thing for vampires??

Angel doesn't know how to sit in a chair normally. Shocked they don't break something with some of their positions.

my favorite part of gba’s writing is how he continuously asserts that albus can never be and will never be in a “traditional romance”.

when he lives in his own ideal world, he lives in a world void of the woman he claims to love. the only relationship he cares to really cultivate is the one with his family, more specifically his brother.

Even in the non-canon ending of BW, the relationship between albus and faithful is very hedonistic. While he prioritizes the safety of faith and the kids, he stays distant and his non-sexual affection/intimacy is small.

its almost like he cant express himself without the sacrifice of his body and skill.

almost like no one ever taught him.

like he never had the chance.

Most likely not. Redacted has been nice enough to be in this project with me despite having his own more popular channel. That goes doubly so for Yuurivoice.

If I was voicing Doc, maybe, but as it stands right now, I won't be doing that.

Saw a goofball post about ASMR Roleplay, romantic plots, narratives, etc. and so on.

Let me share some of my philosophy with you as someone in this game for 7 years, 150k subs on YouTube, and who turned this into a lucrative business for himself. I say all that not to flex, but to assure you that maybe I know a little bit about what I'm talking about.

Audio Roleplays, ASMR Roleplay, etc and so forth is not some sort of rigid, strict thing. If you believe that content in this niche has to adhere to strict rules, structure, and expectations, you've already entered into this with strange expectations because there is such a vast array of ways you can go about presenting this content.

Some of it is slice of life moments in time with an assumed relationships between character and listener. Before narrative audios started to pick up steam, or rather, a handful of folks (myself included) developed followings centered on original characters and stories, the vast majority of creators in this space were just doing snippets of experiences. And, in case you were unaware, that approach is wildly successful. Boyfriend Experiences, audio smut, etc. has a much wider appeal at this time because a listener can drop right in and enjoy it.

If you have somehow deluded yourself into thinking that every audio has to adhere to strict narrative rules, be defined by conflict, or things happening beyond whatever the vibe calls for, you're willfully putting yourself and the niche in a box. Which is fine, but seeing people piss and moan about it is strange.

My approach has been to blend narrative series along with one-shots. One-shots serve as super self indulgent audios that aren't tied to the narrative and allow listeners to engage with some of their favorite characters they fell in love with in the narrative without furthering the plot.

Sometimes I play the game, explore tropes and clichés that are popular for the sake of taking a crack at it. Because it brings in new listeners who then become fans of my narrative work and creates genuine supporters of my passion projects.

And ya know? It fucking works. It works really well. I can drop a very straightforward, stripped down comfort audio with Alphonse like I did today and move listeners to tears. And then we can continue on with BitterSweet when I'm good and ready. It keeps the channel running, keeps the audience engaged, and keeps me working.

The bigger point here is that creators should be able to approach their work as they see fit, without concerns about goofballs with strange expectations and standards dictating to them what is and is not valid. You wanna know what's valid? Creating shit that you like, that the people who support you like. However you achieve that is all good in my book.

Having some goofy ass superiority complex about how people play pretend with pretty voices is strange behavior. I'm proud that my community has never flung that kind of nonsense around, and I'm speaking on it to affirm that kind of stance for the folks who rock with me.

If you're a listener who has recently stumbled into this niche, I implore you to explore, listen to others, find what you like and enjoy it because you enjoy it. There are countless people making audio content these days and there's no wrong way to do it, never has been. There's something for everyone, and if someone tries to tell you otherwise, be wary.

I'm not about negative nonsense, not about tribalism or putting down one person over another. Lift up your faves and share why you appreciate them and their style. But petulant bickering and shitting on others because of something as trivial as audio content? Nahhhh. If I catch anyone spouting nonsense like that in my name, I try and snuff it out as fast as possible because that's not how my shit is built.

If you are someone who fucks with me and my work but has had some opinions like that, I implore you to chill because none of this has ever been that serious. I want people to enjoy what they want to enjoy because for the love of fuck, life is too short to try and grandstand over this silly little niche. Or please get all the way away from me and my people.

SPOILERS if you haven’t listened,

After Sam bites Darlin’, he wakes up before them the next morning and lays there watching them. He cups their cheek and caresses it with his thumb. They give a slight shift exposing the bite marks. A gentle smile tugs at his lips as his hand falls to them. Soft fingers glide across the marks, barely a whisper, but Darlin’ jolts upright at the new sensation.

“Sam?” They ask as they notice him staring at them, “what are you doing?”

“Well,” his morning voice growls and a faux guilty smile grows, “I don’t want to say I was admiring my handy work, but…”

“Creep.” They laugh and playfully tap his side. Then a wicked grin spreads across their face as they look at him.

“I see that look. Don’t you dare Darlin’.”

They reach for his sides having recently learned were his ticklish spot. They barely lay a finger on him before he grabs their waist shifting to be on top of them pinning their arms at their sides.

“I said, don’t, brat.” The last word increases the size of Darlin’s grin. Sam feels their body shake from holding in laughter, “Don’t make me give you more of my marks.”

Do you think the reason Angel stole David's jacket when he came home and found them asleep on the couch wasn't because of Angel being Angel but because they were scared?

David was working late that night, the weather was bad, what if Angel started having flashbacks to the Inversion? What if they started panicking thinking things had gone wrong and no one had told them? What if the only way they could calm themselves down was to wrap themselves up in his jacket like they did during the Inversion, hoping they'd have the same outcome? Hoping that holding themselves in his jacket would bring him home again.

The TV wasn't on because they were watching, it was background noise so they wouldn't be stuck in a quiet house with nothing but their bad thoughts to fill the silence. Just sleep, he'll be back when you wake up. He has to be. They weren't clingy because they were trying to be cute, they were reassuring themselves that he was alive and okay, that he had come home again and everything was alright.

But they didn't want to worry David by saying why they were acting the way they were so they hid it under teasing and jokes, hoping he wouldn't be able to feel how their hands were shaking. Hoping he'd think their fluttering heart was from love instead of anxiety.

His cologne wouldn't be enough. A pillow wouldn't be his warmth around them. It wouldn't he his natural scent from a hard day's work. It wouldn't be him. And in that state of panic, they need him.

But who knows, maybe I'm just overthinking again. That's kinda what I'm known for.
