Remembering #Shashikala on her 3rd death anniversary (04/04/21).
In this photo, she is with #MeenaKumari and #AshokKumar, having received the Best Supporting Actress, Best Actress, and Best Actor Filmfare Awards, respectively, in 1962.
I've been watching old bolly movies. And seeing actors from that era developing into their iconic eras is much cooler than seeing the actors now. Actors now just develop into even better actors, but back then, they were picking and choosing acting skills that did not only help the actors themselves develop but also changed the course of acting in the industry entirely. And that is so cool to see. Like from Saigal improving the style of songs to Chitnis bringing in the "acting with eyes" it's just mind blowing to see the first movies where these techniques were implemented and then turned into the requirements of future good movies. Not to mention the topics used for plots. We applaud modern actors doing the bare minimum in choosing topics of taboo when actors back then were also doing the same and technically being even braver because of how much more conservative things were back then.
