Padme didn’t just “lose the Will to Live” because Anakin fell.
She was witness to three years of horrible war, while she constantly and desperately tried to hold a government she loved and had dedicated her life to defending together, in the face of creeping autocracy and systems breakdown. She endured the stress of maintaining a secret relationship, hiding it from friends and family and all the people in her life.
She then not only saw the man she loved turn to fascism, but murder hundreds, thousands of people, including people she knew, and watched the Senate fucking applaud the death of liberty and the rise of the Empire - organized by a man who, whatever their political disagreements, had once been a treasured mentor and even probably a friend once.
She watched her life’s work burn, and then - and THEN her husband, the man she loved, not only turned on her, but tried to fucking choke her to death and nearly succeeded. THEN after all that, she gave birth in what appears to have been a particularly difficult birth (I can’t imagine nearly dying helped), and the compound psychological and physical stresses killed her.
It’s really not fucking hard.
But no. It’s just ‘George Lucas is baffled by the Uterus’. Because it’s so much easier to say that than to engage your brain for five seconds.

i think the idea that ten in a dnd game would have main character syndrome is very incorrect. unless you're talking abt timelord victorious in which the image of ood sigma pulling that freak out of the snow and sitting him down to play dnd to fix him is very funny

Okay so I do an AU for fun with some friends around Solitude, and I went to them for feedback since we agree Xavier would have a dog, and the final verdict was that he would have two dogs: a doberman and a xoloitzcuintli
Doberman are excellent guard dogs, very protective and extremely intelligent. I mean really, would you wanna mess with a guy that has one of these around? I wouldn't
Xolos are an old breed from Mexico that were said to guide the dead in the afterlife (which is fitting for a place that would have a lot of dead people thanks to the colosseum games). They're also very protective, loyal, make great watchdogs, and also good companions and goofballs around those they trust (sounds familiar, doesn't it?). Ever seen the movie Coco? That dog is one of those. Also since they're typically hairless, they need sweaters and such when cold. Look at this little guy!!

sometimes I wish I was a more interesting + charismatic person just so I could keep conversations going bc I like sharing space with other ppl but they routinely lose all interest and leave once I run out of things to say/start talking abt things that don't concern them :-(

decided AU!Peter gets glasses again in his early 20s after years of powering through vision problems brought on by increased light sensitivity + retaining some mild myopia post-spiderbite.
early on is simple. he thrifts some vintage frames and gets photochromic lenses (aka generic Transitions) put in. specifically the darker ones, so his lenses are always a little gray even inside.
(and now i need to edit some fics again) (lol)
the real question I'm asking myself now is what color lenses he has later, when he gets FF coverage in 2015; considering a lightly tinted minty blue-green in low light which turns a deep grayish green-black in bright sunlight (essentially green-gray transitions on top of a blue base) (also polarized) —
on the one hand, just get polarized sunglasses or clip-ons separately from a pair of regular non-tinted glasses, but on the other hand, as the saying goes: he'd lose his head if it wasn't attached to his neck.
but idk if he'd be willing to wear lovely jade-lensed glasses everywhere lmao — he's not kaine, after all!
#reasoning: polarization to counteract glare and lessen halation (only applies when lenses are dark)#blue-green to help balance contrast and color clarity and lighten shadows slightly when polarized + filter out some reds#tint in general to reduce the amount of light entering his eyes (though that also mostly only applies when lenses are dark tbh... hm)#came in through the window last night#assume that in this universe someone has essentially invented transitions xtractive polarized lenses 5 years earlier than irl#(xtractive is a dumb name btw. you're telling me it's pronounced “extra active” but all i see is “extractive”)#ben also has these problems but i've decided he just wears regular crappy $15 sunglasses inside#kaine also wears sunglasses inside but kaine wears $400 sunglasses and is also partially blind lol#plus for a while there he is basically living in his pink tarantula mask which probably helps block some light out#anyway contacts seems less than ideal because of the fact that his night vision is significantly clearer than his daylight vision#and having to keep track of something that small which he also has to keep clean is like............ idk about that....

#//And that's without mentioning the fact that Glacial Waltz's duration increases FOR EVERY OPPONENT DEFEATED#//Between that and his lil teleporting trick like an Abyss mage's (minus the flurries of ice); I have SO many thinkings#//Deffo love the abilities of his being an amalgam of Vision based and Abyssal energy imbued#//Deffo love that fact meaning it hurts a bit to use his Vision at all; esp with the teleporting being such a Staple to his combat style#☆ ┆ ( .ooc. );#//Sidetracking a bit; but I also like to think that even after the Abyss is defeated/beaten back enough to not be such a threat; he'd still#keep his abilities from it/some connection to it. Bc he's so used to it being such a big PART of his fighting style/assets to use in a pinc#//But also bc keeping that connection means it'd help him keep track of any remnants of the Order far easier#//He could track them down with far more ease; sense if they are growing stronger; get intel from Domains/abyssal traces#//Of course being very mindful to keep it a secret & trying to not involve his loved ones/fellow knights of it all#//But he very much is careful esp bc of risks of him being corrupted by it; keeping a keen eye on his mental/physical/emotional states#//Deffo has plans to leave Mond and/or end his own life if he starts seeing the Abyssal corruption affecting him irreversibly#suicide mention tw#//Kind of but also kind of not; considering some of the ways how he'd go abt it#//Knows it'd be harder to the further it goes; so he has particular criteria he keeps tracks of to ensure if they come to pass#//he; in a clearer state of mind; would either 1) use his Vision to try & purge the energy out of himself (extremely painful; COULD kill#if the corruption runs deep enough & save him the trouble) or 2) use the aggressiveness of the corruption to provoke someone (esp Luc)#into taking care of him &thus ending the problem all together.
