S10 Loser's Bracket Round 2
Call me page me if you wanna meet me
cw: spoilers
Character A has been haunted for years by an evil that ruined his childhood, leading him to try to learn as much about it as he can. In his research he learns of character B, who spent his life saving people from said evil, and A becomes somewhat parasocially fond of him. Unfortunately for him, B died before they could meet. A refuses to believe it though, and travels around the world to try to find him.
A actually manages to find him, but B’s in a lot of pain and being artificially kept… sort of alive. B doesn’t trust A at first, assuming he’s just going to hurt him like everyone else does, but when A puts himself in harms way for B despite them just meeting, B tells A everything he knows. B dies for real, but before doing so trusts A with something he’s never told anyone- the name he wanted to be called.
friendship in solitude
cw: bullying, suicide implication, spoilers
ever since he was a child, K has been shunned. everyone at school saw his ideas as dangerous, and him as weird. A is in the same boat. their way of dressing was thought to be weird since childhood, too. at home, K had his mother and the kid next door, and A had their family. but at school, both were alone. until junior high school.
one time, in junior high, A went up to the rooftop for "no reason", and found K. the two became friends, and when they were at school, they would meet on the rooftop. they kept each other alive. while they were alone for the most part, they had each other. everyone else thought of them as freaks, but they thought of each other as friends.
however, K was a year older, and so eventually, he graduated from junior high without A. that year was awful for both of them. A would go to the rooftop, and remember… their only friend had already graduated. K wasn't better off, as nobody in his new school would be friends with him, either. they were both back were they started: friendless. shunned. alone.
the year had passed, and a new one began. A had now graduated from junior high. K moved schools. it just so happened that they were now in the same high school. they'd changed quite a bit in that year, but now, they had each other once again. they had other friends, as well, but what's important is that, while they were still seen as weirdos by some, they had reunited with the one who had once been their sole comfort at school.

SEMIFINALS: Megaman (Megaman)/Pit (Kid Icarus) VS Huey Duck (Ducktales 2017)/Wakko Warner (Animaniacs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda for Megaman/Pit:
This ask, which includes the art used in the bracket image!
Oh my god. This one came immediately to mind. Idk how big the ship is now, but I remember like seeing it everywhere back when Super Smash Bros Ultimate was like popular on Tumblr/Twitter. I think it was originally a crackship cause both of them were in Captain N (a cartoon), but it’s like a serious thing now. Literally all it took was one interaction between them (there’s like dialogue you can get if you do some combination when you play as Pit) which is just Pit gushing about Mega Man. It’s cute. And honestly kind of iconic
#MEGAPIT ?? good for them #go back in time and tell kid me the ship he came up with on a whim would be in a tumblr bracket :'3
#megapit sweep!
#megapit nation let's pokémon go to the polls #let's give it for a wholesome and iconic crackship
#MEGAPIT NATION RISE. RISE. RISE #MEGAPIT
#MEGAPIT!!!1!
#MEGAPIT NATION RISE UP
#c'mon megapit nation #sure they may lose but let's get them some votes anyways!
#vote for the boys people!!! #let's get them as far as possible
This art!
#Hits u with my megapit blast
#but let's do our best for our artificial and flying (kinda) boys!!!
#be on the megapit side of history
#c'mon c'mon c'mon!!! #should it have to go down #then megapit won't go down easily!
#megapit #MY BOYSSSSSS
#MEGAPIT NATION WE NEED YOU #AND EVERYONE ELSE#HELP THEM WIN!!!
#MEGAPIT NATION STAND STRONG
#they might get annihilated but we're not going down without a FIGHT #come on boys. smash bros is nothing without either of u #manifesting megapit sweep
#MEGAPIT I BELIEVE IN YOU
#VOTE MEGAPIT #MEGAPIT NATION WE NEED YOU #RISE #RISE RISE RISE
#probably the end of the line for the robot and the angel #but that's no reason to give up so easily! #get the boys some votes!
More art! With an unwanted visitor.
Propaganda for Huey Duck/Wakko Warner:
Huey and Wakko are classic opposite attrack characters, while also touches of "you're drawn to people who remind you of your family" thrown in. They're both very autistic coded characters (because their shows are cowards and refuse to say the word) but in opposite ways. Wakko is very outside of the norm where as Huey holds himself to a strict set of rules. While Huey adds a bit of routine to Wakko's life, Wakko encourages Huey to cut back, go outside of his comfort zone at his own pace and also relax a little. Wakko reminds Huey of both his siblings, excitable and dramatic like Dewey, and laid back (compared to his siblings) and mischevious like Louie, where as Huey reminds Wakko of his own siblings. A bit more uptight and bratty like Dot, and intelligent and encouraging like Yakko. They also bring out different sides of each other, Wakko can be gross and messy and Huey somehow finds it charming, and Huey can help Wakko see that he's intelligent and creative in his own ways rather than being outshined by his own siblings. They both also have anger issues, and Wakko would be great at helping Huey to feel his anger rather than always keeping it hidden away. He makes Huey feel seen and heard and taken care of because Huey doesn't have to be the Older BrotherTM around Wakko. Basically just opposites attract autistic kids who help each other come into one another.
#yall need to vote for my baby angels #wakko/huey sweep #please #they deserve it #their shows treated them awfully
#MY BABIES VOTE WAKKO/HUEY YOU LEGALLY HAVE TO ITS MY BIRTHDAY
#HUEY WAKKO SWEEP YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO VOTE THE BABIES

tmnt prompts you say….. :3 how about some 2k12 leo and mikey cos i just adore the way u write their dynamic ✨✨

Honeycutt isn’t always easy to understand. He’s very enthusiastic and demonstrative, and surprisingly expressive given that the only parts of his face he can emote with are the digital lenses of his eyes, but there are times when his mind works in mysterious ways that baffle even Donatello, who understands their android guardian best.
Sometimes, like today, Honeycutt watches Leo and his siblings file onto the bridge in the light of artificial morning and he tilts his head and studies them for a long moment without speaking.
Then he claps his hands together and brightly says something like, “Good morning my friends! I have great news! Our ship needs immediate, serious, time-critical repairs!”
“What?” Leo, Donnie and April blurt at the same time, at the same volume.
“Doc, that’s not good news,” Casey adds, looking vaguely seasick. His claustrophobia hasn’t exactly gotten better out in the vacuum of empty space. “Are we—do you—we should get you a thesaurus.”
“April and I just ran a system check two cycles ago and everything was fine,” Donnie says, and he’s already bringing data up on that holo-gauntlet that’s been permanently attached to his arm since the second the Professor gifted it to him. “The bulkhead shields have degraded a little but—”
“Forget all of that,” Honeycutt says, waving his hands through the holographic screen until it fizzes out. Donnie looks extremely offended. “The point is, we’ll have to stop at the nearest repair station. Lucky for us, there’s one only a parsec away! We’ll use the warp drive and be there in no time. And we might as well see the sights while we’re there. Let’s make a day of it! Chop, chop!”
Leo’s siblings scurry to their stations, all but sulky Donnie, who has to be propelled there by the implacable Professor’s deceptively strong noodle arms.
“Where are we going, Professor?” Mikey calls out. He didn’t sleep well the night before, Leo can tell. There’s a shadow of something pressed over him, like the footprint of a bad dream. He didn’t bring any sunshine onto the bridge with him.
Raphael, sitting in the console beside Mikey, gives him a sidelong look that validates the little wriggling fish of concern swimming around in the back of Leo’s mind.
Honeycutt’s head twists on the column of his synthetic neck to face Leo’s littlest brother and his eyes smile at Mikey kindly. It’s that kindness more than anything that makes Leo continue to trust him. It reminds him of Splinter, in a way that manages not to be painful.
“We’re going to visit an old friend of mine,” Honeycutt explains cheerfully. “We may as well make the most of our sticky situation, don’t you think? Now off we go!”
They don’t land at a repair station. They land outside of what looks like the gates of a giant theme park, if Leo absolutely had to guess. Honeycutt must have called ahead, because the guards are expecting them, and not in the usual unfortunate way guards tend to expect the fugitoid. They smile and salute Leo’s family in greeting and escort them inside.
Apparently this place is called the Battle Nexus and it’s amazing. It’s a planet-wide arena made up of all kinds of different levels and terrains, for the purpose of a multi-cultural exchange of battle tactics and training. The master who oversees the whole thing is a wizened warrior referred to as the Daimyo, who turns out to be an old friend of the Professor’s.
The Daimyo was happy to usher Leo and his siblings into the competition—the kid-friendly version of the competition, anyway. Honeycutt very firmly steered the six of them toward their own age bracket, far, far away from anything even remotely grudge-match-shaped.
Raph looked a little forlornly at the blood-stained brawling pit they were marched past, but he and Casey both quickly fell in with a group of rowdy aliens around their size. Donnie wasn’t remotely interested in anything until a group of medics on stand-by caught his attention with the tricorders they were holding, and then he was hounding them within an inch of their lives. Leo watched after him anxiously, but the medics seemed reluctantly charmed by his purple-banded brother, and humored his barrage of questions. Mikey was still with Honeycutt and the Daimyo, chatting at the old master like they’d known each other for years, probably securing yet another life-long ally for his family in that easy, off-handed way he always made friends.
“Leo, come on,” April said, tugging on his arm. Her eyes were sharp and eager, glinting with that competitive edge that shined as brightly as Raph’s did at times. “They’re doing archery over that way, let’s go!”
So—it’s fun. And it only takes Leo most of an hour, if that, to realize that their ship is more than likely just fine, and it was actually very kind of Honeycutt to bring them here. It makes him feel warm and cared-for, like when he was much younger, and the shiny responsibility of leadership was still a distant dream.
And then a certain sixth sense pings in the back of his mind, drawing his attention from the archery targets and across the meadow to where Donnie looks like he’s one second away from causing a diplomatic incident, his face a thundercloud of pure, distilled rage. He’s shouting something at a group of humanoid aliens standing around in a scattered formation, and his body is tense and still the way it is when he’s literally about to pounce on a Footbot and tear it to pieces with his bare hands. Mikey is standing just behind him, tucked out of sight.
“Oh, boy,” April says from Leo’s shoulder, and then they shove their bows into the hands of the people closest to them and cross the field at ninja speed.
“—worth a hundred of you,” they get there in time to hear Donnie bite out. “So you can take your stupid game and shove it right up your—”
“Donatello,” Leo says, stunned more than scolding. Did he and Raph switch bodies somehow? Leo’s not ready to deal with that today.
But no, Donnie whirls to face him with that particular brand of wounded frustration in his bright red eyes, a look that Leo is familiar with. It’s a look that says ‘why are these people so stupid and why is it my problem?’ and it only ever precedes Donnie losing his absolute shit in a very big way.
Raph falls in next to Leo, grim-faced and groaning, “Nooo. God, what did they do, Don?”
“We’re not staying here,” Donnie announces in lieu of an actual answer. “We’re leaving.”
“What?” Casey asks blankly.
His confusion is completely fair, and shared three ways between Leo, April and Raph. The Nexus is amazing and they’d all collectively been having a blast like five minutes ago. Leo glances from Donnie’s face into Mikey’s, hoping he might find a cue there—Donnie and Mikey are inseparable on a good day, like two pieces of a matching set, and Mikey understands him effortlessly—but Mikey’s expression draws him up short.
He’s not even looking at any of them. He’s looking down, half-hiding behind Donnie’s arm, quiet and impassive in a way that spells hurt. It reminds Leo of those days immediately after Dimension X, when Mikey snuck around the lair like it was full of dangers, when he kept looking at his siblings like he was trying to find cruelty where there wasn’t any. Sometimes Dimension X still creeps up on them like that. It’s never, ever a good sign when it does.
Alarm bells start going off in Leo’s head. They’ve been there since earlier that morning, since Mikey came up to the bridge and didn’t bring any sunshine with him, but now they’re loud.
“Dude, we literally just got here,” Raph is saying. He doesn’t sound confrontational, just honestly bewildered, but Donnie’s mouth twists like Raph just tried picking a fight with him.
“Fine, do what you want,” he snaps. “Have fun with these idiots.”
He grabs Mikey’s hand and starts to march off with him, back in the direction of the ship. Clearly he’s ready to get himself and Mikey the hell out of here, with or without the rest of them. Leo finally kicks himself into action.
“Hey,” he says, circling around to stand in their way. He puts a hand on each of their shoulders and says, “Talk to me.”
“They’re being mean to him, Leo,” Donnie says, too loud, boiling over. “We’re not staying here.”
It almost doesn’t make sense at first. It wouldn’t be the first time Donnie’s started talking in a foreign language just to trip his brothers up. Leo thinks maybe that’s what’s happening right now, and a glance around at the rest of his siblings only further substantiates the idea, because they all look as baffled as he feels.
“Mean to who?” April says, brow furrowed. “Mikey?”
“But that’s the dumbest shit I ever heard,” Casey blurts incredulously.
And the thing is, Leo thinks, it really is the dumbest shit he’s ever heard. Mikey is genuinely the most likable person in the universe. The really irritating side of him is a sibling-exclusive, a baby brother perk that these complete strangers would definitely not have had a chance to experience in less than three hours of his company.
He grew up navigating the tempers and pitfalls of three extreme, explosive personalities, courtesy of his big brothers, so he’s capable of getting along with just about anyone. He can smooth over any uncomfortable, tense situation with a smile. He rolls with the punches. Just being around him is a breath of fresh air.
So what the fuck?
“What the fuck?” Raph says out loud, hands tightening around the handles of his sai.
The aliens—juveniles of their species, since they’re in the same age bracket as Leo and his brothers, taller and broader than the turtles, but with a soft, round-eyed quality that they’ve yet to grow out of that gives their youth away—look markedly uncomfortable about this whole thing. They’re shuffling and avoiding direct eye-contact.
One of them says, “We didn’t mean anything by it. It’s tradition.”
“What, like hazing?” April asks coldly. The atmosphere around her is starting to prickle, like the build-up of energy before a big storm.
“It’s only because he’s—” The word they use doesn’t translate directly. The universal translator they’re each equipped with does its best, spitting out young/inexperienced/stupid as the closest interpretation, and all of Mikey’s siblings go stiff with fury.
Mikey isn’t looking at any of them. He’s got that vacant look on his face that he learned to wear after months alone in a hostile alien world, seemingly abandoned by his family, with no one to count on and no rescue coming. He had a bad night, and now he’s having a bad day, and it’s the last thing he deserves.
Leo can’t afford this. Anything that threatens to draw his siblings away from the fold is a threat to Leo’s entire world, and he’ll neutralize that threat no matter what interplanetary consequences spring up as a result.
It would be easy. It wouldn’t help a single thing.
So instead he glances at Donnie, inclining his head an inch to the left. Donnie is nearly blind with anger, but he still trusts Leo—it warms Leo to the very bottom of his soul that the trust wins. He’s reluctant to let go of Mikey’s hand, but he lets it go, and that’s what finally brings Mikey to look up.
And then Leo pounces.
Mikey makes a startled yelping noise, driven to the ground by the weight of his eldest brother, but it quickly morphs into laughter as they go rolling shell over shell across the warm grass. It’s like being transported back into the dojo where they learned to practice ninja—muscle-memory, the way Mikey twists out from underneath him and flips over Leo’s head, landing nimbly and then diving into a forward roll to avoid his next swipe and giggling the entire time.
To them, it’s play, in its purest form. They were learning how to jump and tumble when other babies their age were still mastering the crawl. Mikey comes alive when he’s on the move, more than any other time, and now his blue eyes are brighter than they’ve been all day.
Leo draws him into a tight kumite bout, and each micro-sequence between the two of them is clean and precise, and each blow would be potentially lethal if it landed. That crowd of kids—the ones who hurt Donatello by hurting Michelangelo—have gone tellingly quiet. Leo splits his attention from Mikey long enough to take in their wide eyes and slack mouths, and thinks, Good.
He can feel pride and satisfaction radiating from their siblings as he proves to this entire level of the Nexus that his baby brother is every bit the deadly assassin their father taught him to be. He can feel nothing but joy from Mikey as he’s swept up in the familiar motions, the fun, fast-paced back-and-forth.
And then Raph barrels in, and Mikey squeaks in combination terror-excitement. The others aren’t far behind.
It becomes less about something to prove, and more about the joy of the conversation. The call and response. All of them whirling around each other in a flurry of precious Hamato clan techniques, bright-eyed and dangerous and alive.
Alive, despite everything. Together.
Leo doesn’t need any stupid Battle Nexus to tell him he and his siblings are champions. He knows that already. They survived the end of the world, and the end of their world, and they’re still here.
The Daimyo finds them sprawled on the grass, breathless and vivified and poking fun at each other. The bullies have made themselves scarce, and the thundercloud on Donnie’s face has cleared into blue skies, and Mikey is laying with his head pillowed comfortably on Raph’s outstretched arm, sweet and content and unburdened for now.
“My, my,” the Daimyo says, warm and impressed, “what a skilled group of warriors you are. I will have to give this planet of yours a visit someday soon if these are the types of people who live there.”
“We’re not typical earthlings,” Leo admits. “And it’s, um—Earth isn’t exactly—”
“Just let us know when you’re ready to swing by,” Mikey pipes up. “We’ll roll out the welcome mat.”
We’ll be there, is what he means, rolling his head to look over at Leo with a smile. We’ll all be there. We’ll do what we came here to do and then we’ll get to go home.
“Yeah,” Leo says, feeling a little choked up. “Yes. You should see it, Daimyo-dono. It’s definitely worth the trip.”
Honeycutt comes over and settles down on the ground with the rest of them, flopping back in the dirt and starfishing his limbs in solidarity.
“Ahh, it’s so unfortunate that we were set back a day by those repairs,” the Professor says. “But I’m glad that you children made the best of it! Your spirits give me strength, you know.”
Leo can’t help but smile at him. His whole entire world is clustered around him, bickering and throwing clumps of dirt at each other. Mikey is laughing, his own brand of sunlight putting the twin suns in the sky above them to shame. They’re so far away from where they belong it’s a joke, but somehow, right at this second, it doesn’t feel that way.
“Thanks,” Leo says. It falls comically short. “Thank you.”

Okay so if Boyd wins his current poll in the artificial kids bracket, it looks like he’ll be up against Jenny/XJ9. So I really, REALLY need you all to show up for Boyd in that poll.
I know Jenny is beloved for being a trans robot but Boyd is MY trans robot. Literally, he’s the one who made me transmasc. He’s my special guy and he already lost the eggcracker bracket (although last time I checked he MIGHT have a chance in the loser’s bracket. MIGHT).
I need, need, NEED you all to be there for me when it drops and vote for Boyd. Tell your friends and loved one with a Tumblr to vote for Boyd. Tell your Ducktales friends to vote for Boyd. He’s going to need ALL the support he can get in that round, and while I’ll be somewhat fine if he loses to a commendable foe like Jenny, imagine how overjoyed I’ll be if he WINS.

Hexxus (Ferngully: The Last Rainforest) "Hexxus is a personification of pollution, a malevolent spirit determined to destroy the last untouched rain forest on Earth (and then the rest of the planet).
His voice actor is Tim Curry, who sings the iconic song "Toxic Love" with lyrics like this:
"I see the world and all the creatures in it / I suck 'em dry and spit them out like spinach / Cause greedy human beings will always lend a hand / With the destruction of this worthless jungle land."
You might be tempted to say Hexxus is a desolation avatar, but extinction makes more sense. FernGully was made in the 90s along with a spate of other environmentally concerned media, which all latched onto a growing awareness and anxieties about pollution and climate change leading to the end of humanity. Humans are the unwitting servants of Hexxus as they mark trees to be cut down and build machines that produce oil and smog. Watching this movie as a kid, the tree-cutting machine and Hexxus' resurrection were very scary!"
Skynet (Terminator) "The artificial intelligence responsible for Judgment Day and the "leader" of the machines in their war on humanity. Skynet determined that humanity as a whole was a threat to its survival when its designers tried to disconnect it shortly after it gained sentience and set out to exterminate them all, destroying the world with nuclear warfare and causing 3 billion deaths on Judgement Day. It leads the machines against the remains of humanity, eventually sending the Terminators back in time to eliminate John Connor in the past so he can’t lead the resistance."

Queer Star Wars Characters (Round 3): General Bracket Match 13
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reyé Hollis | Identity: mlm | Media: “Luke on the Bright Side”
Reyé Hollis was a Naboo Alliance Special Forces sergeant who worked with Luke Skywalker to help build Echo Base. At first he didn’t have a high opinion of Luke, seeing him as a dumb kid getting special treatment for being a “hero” and Jedi and the Force as worthless, due to their failure to prevent the rise of the Empire. Despite having a crush on Luke, he resented having to be his “babysitter”. When the two of them get lost in the tunnels of Echo Base, they have to work through their differences and come to understand each other's perspectives to get out. They also have to hold hands and connect to each other through the Force. After that…who knows.
An extra who appears in Empire Strikes Back was identified in Legends as Reyé Hollis. Sam Maggs says that she intended Reyé to be an extra that appears in the film, however his physical description in the short story doesn’t match the extra.

Ashe Javi | Identity: non-binary | Media: Jedi Survivor
Ashe Javi was born on the industrial planet of Riosa. They started making music using samples from factory sounds, and was noticed by Max Rebo’s agent. To their surprise, they went straight to preforming in clubs on Coruscant, where they quickly gained in popularity. However, they came to hate the artificiality of Coruscant and eventually left it for Kuat. On Kuat, they met DD-EC who was making his own recordings in the shipyards. After some time together, they decided they want to start sampling natural sounds and departed for the planet Koboh. While in the wilderness, they were attacked by a Gorocco and were saved by Cal Kestis. Cal recruited them for Pyloon’s Saloon, where the duo set up shop by the disused DJ equipment. They preferred life on Koboh, for its working class audience and the sound samples they had access to.

Just got a submission for a Grumbot for my definitely real bracket, will tell me about them, please? I need to determine if they qualify and wouldn't know where to start googling for that information. (Assuming you know, but the names Grian and Mumbo Jumbo came up in the submission and you seem to reblog about them a lot, so I'm taking a safe guess.)
Hi yes i can absolutely help! Assuming this is for the artificial kids tournament
First of all, if you want an explanation in video format, here you go!
Grumbot is a fictional robot character created by Grian and Mumbo in Hermitcraft. He was created originally to get Mumbo elected mayor in season 7, but after Mumbo lost the race, Grian and Mumbo trapped him in a virtual world where they DID win.
To pull back the curtain, he's basically a redstone circuit designed to take diamonds and then spit out a piece of paper, but in the world of the series he's a fully-fledged sapient robot
He refers to them as his dads, (though Mumbo is a favorite), and Grian has referred to him as his son recently.
I will continue because there may be related submissions that will come in later.
Jrumbot is Grumbot's little brother, made in the same season, to run a shop. (or be a shop? it is inside him.) Now in season 9, the current one, an alternate reality Grumbot came through The Rift. This Grumbot is significantly more sinister and has said shit like "my Grian was sorry too." When the server crossover happened, another Grumbot was built (nicknamed by the fandom as "Emperor Grumbot")and immediately decided to nuke the world because a world where Mumbo didn't exist was one not worth living in which. uh. ok. (this all happened while Mumbo was on vacation)
This is likely way more information than you needed BUT the character tickles me so i wanted to talk about him :3
You probably aren't going to get submissions for the different versions of Grumbot but if you do i'd lump them together.
as for if they're kids? uh... maybe? The original Grumbot was made in 2020 so he's only 2-3 years old?

lines in [brackets] are lines that made it to the final thing
[Miles from the town, there’s a lump of land that could pass off as the earth’s sorry attempt at a lousy hill. Dirt there is stiff, near-cemented through by sun, rains, winds]: seasons coming and going, molding, baking, drying. [Artificial hill—So Mi herself used the term to describe it. Sitting a horizon off California State Route 89 to the south of the town, bordered by scours of withered, dark trees and a wayward slash of steep ditch] with water murky enough to fool you into thinking it isn’t liquid. Certainly does fool V. Takes accidentally kicking a pebble into it to make her realize it’s rippling.   “How deep you think this water is?” she asks Scorpion next to her offhandedly. Scorpion, distracted out of his ministrations, hums, cranes his neck to look, and shrugs.  “You wanna find out, leave me out of it. I just washed these pants.”  “Gonna get filthy in a sec, choom,” Mitch murmurs, peering intently into the scope of his rifle. It’s a huge thing, that—a size that screams anti-material and gussied up with a silencer that looks imposing in the night. “Does it matter?”  “Yeah, it matters. Wanna keep these clean long as I can.”  V picks up a knotted prong of stick, hitches low, and sticks it into the water. Couldn’t even feel the bottom there. “S’deep,” she observes, like any of it matters.  “You nervous, V?”  “Mm?”  “In the war,” Mitch starts without looking up, “my first few ops—couldn’t sit still before it was go-time. Couldn’t shut up, either. Had to be on the fuckin’ move. Tinkerin’ with my radio. Messin’ with the panzer, over and over. Botherin’ the other gonks waitin’ around, them feelin’ just as restless.” He looks up, finally, and gives V a crinkly-eyed smile. “S’normal. But ya gotta just sit, choom.”  “How many gigs you been in? As a solo?” It’s Scorpion’s turn to pick up.   V tries to count it out in her head, her stint in Night City and the sprinkle of gigs she’d taken, fucked up, won. She shrugs in the end. “Not a whole lot. Good few.”  Scorpion chuckles. Mitch just grins: “yeah. This one’s gonna turn you inside out, kid.”  “But you’re gonna be fine!” Scorpion says hastily, digging his elbow into Mitch’s side. V kind of wants to retch. “Gonna be just preem, V. Don’t worry.”  “You gonks done foolin’ ‘round?”  V looks over her shoulder to see Carol there, shrouded in night and with arms crossed. The light of someone’s flashlight waves over the top of her head like a halo. “Time to hustle if ya are.” Carol jerks her head. “C’mon.”  Scorpion and Mitch get off their haunches, hauling tools and iron. V throws the stick into the ditch.  [Panam’s face is bottomlit by a datapad.]
[There’s a fire in the darkness.]   V’s coughing through dust clouds and tripping over rubble. [Using the missile launcher is always a shock to the brainstem even with two people carrying the pressure—panzer wasn’t designed for two artilleries, see]—and she wiggles her head now. Squints into brown clouds and covers her nose and mouth.   “…Think anybody heard that?” Cassidy asks behind her uncertainly. The smoke hasn’t yet cleared. Modest fires lick and whip through the dust, reaching out and up. V speaks with her palm on her lips.   “If they didn’t, they probably felt it. Town did, at least.”  “How’s it look?” Panam shouts from the tank. V raises a hand and waves it—hold up—and starts swinging it at the air around her to help clear it.   A minute or two. The fires die out. The dust settles. Somewhere in the wrecked face of this lie of a hill is a hole as big as V’s fist, and it’s Scorpion who approaches it, digging a hand in to claw off some rocks and stiff dirt. V pats his arm, gives it a shove, and starts turning around to return to the Basilisk.   “Think we can do two more?” she asks Panam breathlessly, hitching herself up onto the tank. Panam’s face is screwed but she’s smirking.   “Can even manage three. Bet ya you’re gonna faint before I do.”  “In your dreams, choom.”  They jack in again. [Panam winces into their shared connection now and V soothes her with some light warmth.]

Can we send a group of robots? There's like a robot boy band in No Straight Roads but I don't know if that would be okay.
1 robot + 1 meatbag, potentially +1 third wheel if I agree to do trios (we're currently leaning in that direction, since I've been submitted several good ones)
I'm sorry, I know this seems unfair, but there are twofold reasons for this: 1, the more characters there are the more work there is for me- even with trios, I intend to be very picky with which ones I allow, and 2, it doesn't feel fair to me. If you have five characters vs two, that's five fanbases against two, which tips the scales. It's why I'm on the fence about trios even, and why I'm not doing tiesweeps in this bracket.
There is also that this is specifically about the relationships between robots and non-robots. As when I did Artificial Kids, I'm doing this because if there's one thing I love in fiction, it's a robot (or any other artificially created character) who has a best friend who is also Other in some way, and they find belonging in each other. While I am certainly not against bonds between robots, or robots having multiple meatbags or meatbags being friends with multiple robots, the point is that this is not specifically about robots, but about the relationships between robots and living people (or nonliving- still got my fingers crossed for someone to submit a robot + a ghost). Just because it's called the robot riot, don't discount the equally important meatbags on the team.

ROUND 4: Megaman (Megaman)/Pit (Kid Icarus) VS Wirt (Over the Garden Wall)/Dipper Pines (Gravity Falls)
Propaganda for Wirt/Dipper Pines:
Two boys who deal with the supernatural, are riddled with anxiety and stress, tormented by literal demons (who may also be in their bracket image; get outta here, you stinkies) and also maybe some more metaphorical demons, and an overall pretty popular ship from this era of cartoons.
#PINESCONE SWEEP !!!!!
I love the girls but I have to support my man Dipper after he lost in the other pairing

I can’t make this super long and elaborate bc I’m working but vote for Vanitas in the Artificial Kids bracket because he’s evil and dresses like an edgelord Sora and is just really great in general.
)Also Roman has to remain impartial bc he’s running the bracket but he’d really like to use his collection of Vanitas screencaps)
