Why Ari Lennox is my favorite.

Somebody who has really impressed me over the years, is no other than the underrated genius that is ARI LENNOX. I was first introduced to her, when I came across her song “Night Drive,” off her album “Pho.” If you’re new to her, please go and check out her first album “PHO” and you’ll be happy you did, and your playlist will thank you.

Track 2, off PHO “Back Seat” is absolutely genius, and my favorite from her. It comes with a smooth 90′s concept with an unforgettable sound. Her voice gives Erykah Badu vibes, her style projects pure icon qualities a lot of artists are lacking now..; a distinctive style, and sound like no other artist has, she surely stands out in the crowd.

So it was no surprise when she released “Shea Butter Baby” that she hit the charts with a bang again. “BMO,” “Speak To Me,” “Up Late,” “I Been”, I could go on, and on, she consistently proves that when she releases a new project? She never disappoints. Ari is definitely in a league of her own, she brings a nostalgic feel with her music that the music industry needs more of. Just saying,

Only Ari Lennox can release a song about her new apartment, and it be a hit, not everyone can do what she does.

This is our first duet and the first single released from our Abbey Road Studios recordings. It was a dream come true for everyone who travelled there for this recording and the first time we all met each other in person, having worked remotely over the course of the pandemic. It was a fantastic opportunity to record both Liam and Muireann in the same room at those iconic studios. Ruth wrote the song specifically for the two singers, knowing everyone would finally get together in person at Abbey Road. The song is about how we can bring out the best in each other, raise each other up and inspire positive relationships.
