House of Fingolfin | Being In An Arranged Marriage With Them
Tumblr media
A/N: This takes place in Valinor, in a no–darkening verse and arranged marriages are common traditions among the elves. By now, I'm considering this an AU within the Silm verse with all the ideas that’s been swimming in my mind after writing each headcanon (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Warnings: feelings of neglect and loneliness, resentment, disputes, there is some comfort, angst because it's an arranged marriage
Arranged Marriage AU: Arafinweans ver.
Tumblr media
☆ . ࣪ ˖ ࿐ Fingolfin
Fingolfin strongly resents being told what to do. However, if complying benefits his family and upholds his royal status as an exemplar for princes, he will reluctantly follow through. In this context, he would have no significant objections to an arranged marriage.
He genuinely believes in his father’s good intentions and considers his mother’s agreement as final. Fingolfin would attentively attend the meeting, listening to the criteria and rationale for the arrangement while occasionally glancing at your disheartened expression.
Initially, he might struggle to comprehend why you don’t view the situation as a win–win, given that you’re marrying a prince and about to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle. The notion of being forced into this or having a lover only dawns on Fingolfin when his younger brother or a friend brings it up.
He’s determined to make the relationship work and hopes you won’t be confrontational or resist connecting with each other. Your reluctance to make things work is a source of frustration for him, but his pride prevents him from complaining to others.
But it is important to keep in mind that as much as he’s fighting you to make this work, he is respectful of your boundaries and personal space.
“I may have been slow to realise your reservations about the arrangement, but may I ask that you at least attempt not to distance yourself when all I want is for this to go smoothly? Yes, we will be married soon, but I’m not suggesting a romantic involvement, just a basic level of cooperation to ease the tension, please.”
He’s eager to make the arrangement a success because he sees it as essential for his role as a prince and a way to outshine his older brother. In Fingolfin’s perspective, this is a competition, albeit unfortunate for you.
You must assert that for this relationship to work, it shouldn’t be a platform for competition or jealousy, but rather something mutually beneficial and meaningful. You seek a partner you can rely on and trust, while he desires a confidant.
Despite the challenges, you enjoy a royal lifestyle with extravagant parties, balls, and dinners, access to the finest materials and food, a luxurious house designed to your liking, and any other desired indulgence. Fingolfin explicitly mentions that the house was created with your preferences in mind in hopes of ensuring some form of comfort is achieved.
An added benefit of the relationship is Fingolfin’s trust in your abilities as a mediator and leader. As a means to enhance communication, he gradually opens up and seeks your advice in the hopes of strengthening the arrangement.
Tumblr media
☆ . ࣪ ˖ ࿐ Fingon
Initially, when the news was broken to him, Fingon found it all rather amusing. He doubled over and laughed in his father’s face, thinking it was some kind of joke. It took a while for the seriousness of the situation to sink in, and he soon realised that this was no laughing matter. Fingon is a free–spirited individual who believes in choosing when to marry, not never for political reasons, as was the case in this instance.
When you’re in the room, Fingon prefers to keep his anger in check and maintain a pleasant demeanour, as he doesn’t want to frighten you. He’s well aware that you had no say in this decision, and his father is the only one he has an issue with.
The sorrowful look on his face when he meets your eyes is heart–wrenching, as both of you are victims of politics. Despite the circumstances, he does his best to shield you from the harsh reality and maintain the illusion of a simple friendship.
Among all his siblings and his father, Fingon is undoubtedly the most agreeable elf to be married to. Despite his inner turmoil and his father’s constant pressure to make the relationship work, he remains cheerful and amiable in your company, ensuring your comfort throughout the entire engagement.
However, in the early days of the marriage, he was the complete opposite of his usual self, largely due to your reserved nature. He was distant and mostly silent as he grappled with controlling his temper, trying to figure out how to make the relationship work.
If he’s going to be your husband against his will, he’s determined to be the best one you could hope for. Do you require your space? You got it. Do you not wish to see or speak to him? He’ll respect it. Do you want him to stop pretending that everything’s perfect? You’ll get that as well, although it may not be what you expect.
“You might be expecting me to shout, scream, or completely ignore you. I couldn’t bring myself to do any of that, though, as it’s not how my mother raised me to behave when I’m dissatisfied... I understand that you see through the façade I put up; it’s mostly to get my father off my back. But it’s not an act when I’m around you.”
Count on Fingon to make your forced marriage bearable and tolerable. He alleviates the typical anxiety associated with arranged marriages by filling it with unconditional love, support, appreciation, and trust. He never lets the burden fall on you and always stands by your side, ready to defend you.
One thing he won’t tolerate is anyone belittling your role as his spouse, whether it’s from your family or his. He respects your choices and ensures that you’re comfortable before engaging in anything personal.
Fingon never rushes you into anything uncomfortable and allows you to make decisions, trusting your judgment and revealing his vulnerability. He sees this as a hopeful approach to overcoming the arranged marriage label that hangs over your heads.
Tumblr media
☆ . ࣪ ˖ ࿐ Turgon
Even if it were his father delivering the news that an arranged marriage was necessary to uphold the family name, Turgon was on the verge of overturning a table and vanishing before his father could reveal your name. However, Turgon knew he wouldn’t get far before being compelled to return home and address the situation.
It was the gloomiest atmosphere in recent memory when he was in the room, glaring at your presence as you entered with your family. The whole ordeal made him feel nauseous, especially when he observed how supportive his mother was in the matter.
Turgon didn’t speak or acknowledge your existence. If you were residing in your preexisting home, you both slept in separate quarters. He even made an effort to become familiar with your schedule to ensure you didn’t cross paths because he wanted to avoid giving the impression of any interest in making things work.
It felt like living alone with a brooding spectre who constantly muttered under his breath as though he was casting a spell. He was quick to anger and often directed his frustration at everyone around him, not just his and your parents. Congratulations, you were arranged to someone who unjustly blamed you.
Like his cousins, you had to assert yourself and demand respect, forcing your voice above his constant grumbling.
“Listen, I’ll make this clear just once, so don’t make me repeat myself. Stop blaming me and direct your frustrations at my parents and yours. We’re in this together whether we like it or not—so accept it and put an end to the complaining, just like I did. We’re going to make this work—we don’t have to share a bed or be best friends, but we should find common ground and understanding. I won’t accept ‘no’ as an answer, as it’s proven to be pointless, so stop whining and work with me!”
You earned his respect because no one had the audacity to confront him like that without fearing his explosive anger. From that day on, there was a subtle change in the household routine, like not avoiding your schedules and sharing the same space (excluding the bedroom).
Any attempts at conversation were initiated by you, and you had to strain your ears to catch his mumbled responses. When it came to public appearances, he was as stiff as a board and communicated sparingly.
However, it was his instinct to defend you and his family if anyone made disrespectful comments about your situation. That was something for him and you to contemplate, not for others to meddle in, so someone would be put in their place. That night, you saw the most emotion from him apart from his temper.
An incident like that brought you both a step closer to displaying your emotions and feelings, particularly your protectiveness toward him. As simple as it may seem, he wanted to know about your day and if anyone insulted you when you were out. It was a step in the growth of your relationship.
Tumblr media
☆ . ࣪ ˖ ࿐ Argon
Argon is fucking bewildered and struggling to comprehend the situation because he’s still a young individual being informed of an arranged marriage he never wanted. He responds with profanity and loud protests until his father intervenes to calm him down.
He despises every moment of it, particularly when he recalls how his cousins and brothers were subjected to the same process. He can’t believe he’s in the same situation despite his strong desire to find love on his own. Even if you were present in the room, his anger blinds him to your concern.
For days to weeks, you two may not exchange words, with occasional glances and stares being the only form of communication. Even after the marriage, he only engages in minimal conversation, ensuring your well–being and comfort in the shared space, though his tone is often filled with bitterness.
Initially, your marriage feels like cohabitating with a mere housemate, as your interactions are limited to household chores. Meaningful conversations based on your interests are virtually non–existent. It would take significant time and effort before either of you musters the courage to address the awkward silence in the house, ideally during breakfast.
“May I speak? No, it’s not about breakfast; it’s about us. We’ve been living like roommates for months, hardly even acquaintances. All we do together is eat and do chores. I know you’re still upset about this arrangement—so am I—but I’d appreciate it if we could replace this white noise with something resembling friendship. We’re already living together, so we’re past the stage of being strangers.”
Argon is genuinely sorry to discover that you desire more meaningful interactions rather than distance, which he had assumed. Your first breakthrough occurs when you jest about his misinterpretation of your gestures, breaking the awkward silence with a touch of Argon’s playful nature.
Following in the footsteps of his eldest brother, he emulates his gestures in the hopes of fostering a deeper connection. Although his emotions make him eager and impulsive, he doesn’t want you to bear the blame for his dissatisfaction.
Eventually, a level of vulnerability emerges in your discussions, allowing both of you to overcome this significant turning point in your lives. More joy and laughter infuse the household as you both express your opinions, views on the situation, and expectations for the future. Given his youth and the wealth of advice he’s received on arranged marriages, he engages in meaningful conversations to ensure you share the same expectations.
He has no intention of subjecting you to the mistreatment that others might inflict on their spouses, placing trust in you and expecting the same in return. For the majority of your marriage, despite lingering awkwardness, you manage to build a friendship with someone who is open and respectful.

Your elf returns from the dead and finds you with a child
Tumblr media
(Here you go. Excuse the bad tittle, I couldn't come up with anything better. Maedhros, Celegorm, Argon and Finrod are our special guests here. I felt like they would fit the consept of the requests. Theres a lot of angst in Maedhros’s and Celegorm’s part, so be warned. Enjoy!)
Requested by Anonymous
Warnings; marriage, fluff, death, angst, divorce, and complicated family life.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maedhros
-When you two met and fell in love, it was love at first sight. Maedhros hadn't been interested in anyone before, counting how many people asked him to court them, but something about you got his heart hammering like a drum.
-You were a bit shy, which he thought was cute. You were charming when you got comfortable around him. Throwing jokes and keeping him on his toes excited him and made him even more interested in you.
-He stole your heart for helping you around social situations and being kind, so you silently had a crush on him but hated it because you thought he was out of your league.
-However, he mustered the courage to ask you to court him, and you said yes.
-Your courtship laster for a long time, filled with love and adoration for each other. It all ended up in a happy marriage.
-His family accepted you. Nerdanel adored you, but having Feanor's approval was tough at first, but eventually, he softened up for you.
-After being married for a long time, you two finally considered starting a family. Unfortunately, that would never happen when the darkening happened, and Maedhros swore the oath to retrieve his father's silmarils.
-You had a bad feeling about the ordeal and tried to convince your husband of it. Arguments took place between you, then the kin slaying happened, and you refused to go with him to middle earth.
-Maedhros was heartbroken but still left with his father, leaving you on the shores of Valinor.
-Heartbroken and alone, you seek out your mother-in-law for comfort and help.
-Your family had left with Feanor's host, and most of your friends had left with Finfolfin's host, so you were all alone.
-Your other friends from Teleri and Vanyar would not trust you after what happened.
-Nerdanel welcomed you with open arms and let you stay with her.
-Your grief didn't take a good toll on you, especially when you found out a few months later that you were pregnant.
-You and Maedhros had been trying for a baby but had some complications. Your little one came at the worst time possible.
-It griefed you to the end that Maedhros wasn't going to meet his child, but for the sake of your baby, you pulled yourself together.
-After nine months, your daughter was finally born.
-She had her father's hair, which pained you, but you still loved her.
-You missed Maedhros terribly, but you stopped thinking about him and dedicated yourself raising your precious little girl.
-Nerdanel was a great help and was happy to be a grandmother. She took over whenever you needed rest.
-When Maedhros was released, he sought you out. Even though; he was afraid of how the encounter might go.
-He didn't expect to see you conversing with a young elleth, who kinda looked like you but with red hair.
-You felt rage when you saw him, and you became even madder when he thought you moved on and had a child with another.
-You smacked him with a book, calling him names and blaming him for leaving a child with you.
-It would take him a moment to realize that you were pregnant when he left, and the young confused elleth beside you was his grown-up daughter.
-He would feel happy but regretful. He left you alone to carry the burden, and he wasn't there for his daughter.
-It was just another addition to what he failed in his life.
-Reconnecting you wasn't easy. All the Anger you suppressed came out like a volcano, so you were constantly pissy with him.
-His daughter was angry with him too, and obviously inherited your temper, so he had two elleths constantly mad at him.
-His daughter didn't accept him at first. He had been gone for her entire life, and sometimes she had been bullied for being related to him.
-She was also mad that he left you to suffer all alone.
-Maedhros would feel even more guilty but tried to fix things with you and bond with his child.
-Things would slowly turn for the better, and you stopped feeling angry.
-Love would finally return, and even his daughter slowly accepted him. Things were good at last.
Celegorm
-You're not sure what possessed you to marry an elf-like him.
-He was loud and wild, while you were quiet and calm.
-He was a childhood friend, and over time, when you both grew up, you accepted when he asked to court you and soon got married.
-You did have a healthy relationship and say you both were very much in love. Even though; he sometimes annoyed your existence.
-He sometimes had the intelligence of a rock, so you were the brains in the relationship.
-He never mistreated you, but all went down when the darkening happened, and he swore an oath.
-He had turned into another elf and seemed to enjoy the havoc and blood he spilled when he slew his kin.
-You were frightened and refused to go with him.
-An argument broke out, and you ran away when he raised his sword at you, thinking he was going to kill you.
-Celegorm wasn't going to hurt. His temper got out a bit when you argued, raising his sword at you. He got confused and almost regretted it when you ran away from him.
-Turning his back on you, he left and joined his father and brothers to sail to middle earth.
-You turned on your mother-in-law and Curufin's wife for comfort and didn't have a good time. You then found out that you were expecting, which made the feeling worse.
-It scared you, and you fell into depression. You highly considered getting rid of the child than having a reminder of what your husband had become.
-Luckily, Nerdanel was there to support you and stop you from making a decision you might have regretted.
-You held on until you gave birth to your twin sons, who looked like their father.
-You allowed Nerdanel to look after your sons and went to seclusion for rest and collect yourself. You weren't ready to be a mother. You did have talks about having children with Celegorm before, but they came at the wrong time.
-It took you a long time to get out of depression, but you finally managed to collect yourself with enough help and therapy and went to see your sons.
-Your twin boys were precious and the brightest things. You regretted even considering getting rid of them and thanked Nerdanel for convincing you to keep them.
-You learned to love your boys and finally managed to live without thinking about Celegorm.
-Sometimes, Orome comes to check on you and your sons. He wanted to help you out a little. He was confused in the beginning since he didn't have experience with elven babies, but he soon got the hang of it and was a great help.
-He became like a grandpa figure to them.
-He knew about your terrible breakup with Celegorm and was saddened that Celegorm left you the burden of raising your sons alone. He felt like he failed to mentor Celegorm into a good elf. So Orome thought he should repay you for the damage his apprentice caused you.
-You knew the language of the birds and animals, so they kept you informed about what your husband was doing in middle earth. He had done many terrible things, but the moment when he kidnapped and lusted after an elven princess was the breaking point.
-You became unbelievably upset and wanted to break off the marriage bond.
-You needed a lot of therapy to get over your former husband.
-When Celegorm was finally allowed to leave the halls of Mandos, you didn't seek him out.
-Celegorm found you with Huan and a pair of twins he did not recognize. He already thought the worst things, so he demanded an explanation.
-You weren't happy to see him, especially when he behaved aggressively toward your boys.
-You told him they were your sons, then Celegorm had the audacity to blame you for moving on with another like your marriage meant nothing.
-Your sons took him down because they thought he was threatening you, and Celegorm was nothing against your son's united strength.
-You kicked him in the face, yelling and telling him he was the one who left you pregnant.
-Celegorm would feel shocked and slowly realize the truth. He would finally feel stupid and try to reconcile.
-Luckily, Orome was there to break you up before it escalated.
-You had no interest in reconnecting or re-creating the marriage bond, so you both needed a lot of couple therapy.
-Celegorm would have a hard time connecting with his sons. They were shocked and felt embarrassed he was their father.
-They were mad at him for causing you so many problems and emotional damage.
-Celegorm would feel the joy that his sons shared a passion for hunting and Orome had gifted them hounds of their own, but the fact they refused to acknowledge him as their father didn't sit well.
-They sometimes slandered him about the oath and everything he did in middle earth. They would have cut their throat than embarrassed their mother as he did.
-Orome refused to help Celegorm out. He told his former apprentice it was time to take responsibility for his actions.
-So yeah, your family life had a rough start. You refused to take him back, wanting to stay in divorce and his sons were mama's boys. He has a lot to do to have a good life.
Argon
-Argon was the second one in his family to get married when he fell in love with you.
-He was shy and blushed easily, and those were one of his perks you so much adored about him.
-He almost fainted when he asked you to marry him.
-You two talked about starting a family, and he was excited about it but was worried he would be a bad father. His family tried to be supportive, but they didn't help much because he got even more worried.
-When the darkening happened, and Argon was going to leave with his family, you begged him to stay. You had a bad feeling in your gut that something terrible would happen to him.
-He was almost convinced to stay with you, but in the end, he still left with the host of his father.
-You were heartbroken and stayed with his mother for the time being. The feeling became worst when you found out that you were expecting.
-It was hard, but with the support of Anaire and your friends, you managed to pull yourself together for the sake of your child.
-Months later, your daughter and son were born.
-It was a surprise that you were expecting twins since none of the healers noticed, but it didn't make you love them any less. They were beautiful, and Anaire was ecstatic to have grandchildren.
-It was tough at first since it was your first time being a mother, but luckily Anaire was there to help, so you had nothing to worry about.
-Some years later, not too long ago, maiars came to your doorsteps and told you about your husband.
-Argon died in a battle and had been in the halls of Mandos ever since, but since he had committed no other evil. Valars considered releasing him if you wanted him back.
-He was to suffer the doom of the Noldor, but the valars considered giving him a second chance so he could be in your children's life.
-You accepted the offer and grabbed your children to meet their father.
-When you reached the halls of Mandos, Argon was there, waiting for you. He was ecstatic when he saw you but got very confused when seeing your daughter and son.
-The meeting became awkward because he thought you moved on and had children with another.
-You laughed, calling him an idiot. You explained your daughter and son were his. You didn't have time to meet someone else.
-Argon would blush in embarrassment. He apologized and hugged his children.
-He would cry happy tears and apologize several times to you for being a terrible husband. He would have never left if he knew you were pregnant.
-You got over it a long time ago. You were just happy to have Argon back, and your children have a chance to have a father in their lives.
Finrod
-You were from the Teleri and a peculiar one as many would describe you.
-When you two met, Finrod enjoyed the breeze and the sounds of the sea on a rock, and then you appeared and unexpectedly jump-bombed in the water.
-Finrod was taken by your act and couldn't help but observe as you played with friendly reef sharks.
-He was captivated by your energy and loved the sound of your laughter.
-He couldn't help but greet you and join you for fun.
-It was a fun swim for both of you.
-You recognized him right away when he told his name because you knew his mother from parties your family attended.
-The reason why Finrod had not seen you before was that you were a bit of an oddball and didn't like to socialize much. You always preferred going for a swim and playing with sharks.
-Finrod became enamored with you, and when you started seeing each other, you started courting, which led him to ask for your hand in marriage.
-It felt like Finrod was following his father's footsteps and married a graceful swan maiden, but in the place of a swan. He married a wild shark maiden.
-His family adored you and got along perfectly with Galadriel, who was suspicious of you at first, but soon became fast friends.
-Finarfin didn't mind his son marrying someone from a lower class. He saw how happy you made Finrod, and he didn't have the heart to break you up just because you weren't from an influential family. So Finarfin was very welcoming.
-When the darkening happened, and the flight of Noldor took place, Finrod convinced you to stay because he felt you would only suffer if you came along. He wanted you to stay in the safety of Valinor.
-The separation was heartbreaking, but you stayed behind as Finrod left with his kin.
-You missed him every day, then the shocking thing happened when you found out that you were pregnant.
-You were ecstatic about the news, but your family didn't receive it well and told you not to keep the child. They pressured you that keeping the child would only cause suffering and a bad reputation because Finrod was still part of Noldor.
-Frightened and saddened by the reaction of your family, you decided to seek help from your in-laws, who still resided in Valinor.
-Finrod's parents were supportive and helped you to get through it. Months later, your son was finally born.
-When Finrod returned from the halls of Mandos and was allowed to walk upon Valinor again, he sought you out and found you living with his parents, and there was a young ellon beside you.
-He was happy to see you, and the reunion was heart-filled, but he needed to take a quick look at the elf teenager beside you.
-The ellon looked like him but with your hair since it was lighter and less blond.
-Finrod would quickly connect the dots and remember sensing life within you when you two parted. He would smile and finally hug his son.
-Your son would be confused and not recognize his father until you told him Finrod was his father. He would softly cry and hug his father back in happiness.
-You would all become a one-happy hug pile, and everything was well.

"Mano po."
Pagmamano (Tagalog) - "honouring-gesture;" a sign of respect towards elders
A continuation of sorts, of this other drawing I made of the Feänorians, which was roughly inspired by Filipino culture. I originally planned on completing this for @nolofinweanweek, specifically the first prompt about how Fingolfin and Feänor's families got along, but life got in the way and I didn't finish it in time. More background/my long rambles under the cut:
Pagmamano - touching the back of an elder's hand on one's forehead - is not restricted to family, but it's usually done in the context of elder family members. I have many memories of attending family reunions and being told to follow the other kids to "mano po" a grandfather, aunt, or uncle. While Elves don't have elderly relatives, per se, I thought this image was too fun not to draw. Also, I love envisioning Feänor as that cool uncle who gives the most amazing gifts but like, the kids are intimidated by him, so they have to be told (and supervised) by their parents to line up and greet him properly. Fingolfin's just standing there making sure his kids all greet their uncle. (Maedhros, presumably having already finished his greetings, is sidetracking Fingon.)
All this to say, I think that these guys didn't have the perfect relationship. But. You can't convince me Finwë didn't get the whole family together from time to time on some sort of family reunion camping trip. And Feänor just has to begrudgingly tolerate it because he can't say no to his dad. While the kids, obviously, have a great time.

My Headcanon Crafts for the House of Fingolfin:
Anaire: an architect. Very elegant in style; she designed a lot of Valinor's most beautiful classical guildhalls and ballrooms. She first met Fingolfin when she sought him out because she need a really nice stained glass window for one of her projects. She proposed to him by showing him a plan she'd made for their house.
Fingon: a glassworker like his dad! Unlike Fingolfin, instead of focusing on stained glass murals, he preferred more free form glassblowing and making sculptures. Other than some really flashy abstract stuff, his favorite works were little glass animals he liked to make for gifts. The first ones he made were two (slightly squished) doves for his parents.
Turgon: an architect. His designs were a lot more maximalist and fanciful, often based off of extremely beautiful and slightly surreal sketches. He designed basically everything in Gondolin, and the city was seen as the absolute peak of Noldor architecture, because everything there was legitimately awe-inspiring, from gravity-defying bridges to a minecart-based public transit system.
Aredhel: a hunter. But beyond that, she was well known for her incredible plants lore. From medicinal herbs to poison berries, she knew it all, and often made great use of it in the hunt. She often brought home fresh mushrooms and wild vegetables along with her latest kills for family dinners. She could also make a mean spiced rabbit.
Argon: an animal healer. He's a caring, gentle soul by nature, even if he's a bit excitable, and he's very good at getting animals to calm down. He always liked working with them, and decided that helping them was what he wanted to dedicate his life to. He'd often come home from the woods as a kid with an injured bird or rabbit and big pleading eyes.
Bonus! But sadder this time. Fingolfin left his little glass dove with Fingon before he went off to challenge Morgoth. It eventually ended up in Galadriel's hands because she was one of Fingon's only surviving relatives, and ended up inheriting a lot of his things. She gave it to Finarfin so he could take it back to Valinor and return it to Anaire. The doves were reunited. Eventually, so were their owners.

i think argon is so important. it's SO important for him to be the fire and fierceness and love of the family, and for him to die almost as soon as he sets foot in middle earth. they arrive with the sun, but already they have lost their own. the grief the nolofinweans must now bear (so soon after the loss of finwe and then elenwe)... the rage with which fingolfin bangs on the doors of angband, so mightily that morgoth hides from him... the complete lack of self-preservation that fingon has as he goes to find maedhros, not wanting to lose another of his close kin... the way the family seems to break apart, with turgon and aredhel leaving... argon's loss has left them with a space they cannot fill, and the grief tears at them from within, tainting their experience of middle earth as soon as it begins...

Fëanáro and his sons-(and daughter) in-law.
X : Rank your children's spouses or partners from one to ten.
Fëanor : ...
Fëanor : I've been waiting for this moment since Maitamo was in diapers!
Fëanor : Findekáno is an eight. He was the first one and I really came to see the fact that he and Maitamo would get married when they had the chance. He is quite nice though because of him I have to see Ñolofinwë's face on weekends at the family dinner. Other than that, it's stranger not to see him at home, I got used to having him there, he's good company.
Fëanor : the first time I met Makalaurë's wife she punched me in the jaw. She is sassy and not afraid to express her displeasure with anyone plus Dae is really very talented, she is also the only person who can manage to shut Káno up, she sings too well, a ten, she is my favorite.
Fëanor : Tyelko was always a free fëa, that's why I didn't expect him to settle down, not even with Irissë and even less with Oromë. That's why Dior was a strange surprise, I don't really know the history of those two and I haven't dealt much with him, he's usually serious, and I don't blame him for that. A seven.
Fëanor : Turukáno reminds me too much of Ñolofinwë; he openly hates me and I respect him for that; but he also makes Moryo smile more often than usual, his mood changes when he's around his husband. Besides they have been together for too long, they never told anyone but Aracáno and I suspected it. He is an eight.
Fëanor : I'm not sure if Findaráto counts, he and Curufinwë have been divorced for a long time, however they also kiss a closet when they think no one sees them. He and Curufin made me grandfather, although at the time there was yelling and a couple of broken things, he took responsibility, and like Findekáno his company is pleasant. He's a solid nine, plus Arafinwë is easier to stand than Ñolo.
Fëanor : Pityo has no husband, wife or partner; unless it's secret, I can't score this time.
Fëanor : Telvo on the other hand, well. He leaves Artaresto and Arakáno, the son, I mean. I must say that the three of them are really adorable, if somewhat disastrous, you don't want to know what an argument between them is. Frankly they are the healthiest polyamory I've seen in a long time. Both Arteresto and Arakáno are a nine.
Plus : Telperinquar's husband.
Fëanor : Annatar is an annoying little shit, I am offended that you think I accept him, if it were not for Tyelpe I would throw him into the void with his ex-husband.
Notes :
Daeron is trans, she is an elleth. When he and Maglor met, the son of Fëanor fell in love with her, he proposed to her a few days after they met for the first time. A hundred years pass before she accepts him, they marry with only trees as a witness, they drifted apart after Doriath.
She was upset for a long time, with her husband and her brothers-in-law.
They meet in Imladris, Elrond is the one who brings them together (he locks them in a room until they talk) Maglor apologizes and she accepts them even though she knows it will take time to heal. Finally, they sail to Valinor accompanying Elladan and Elrohir. Regarding her name, he doesn't really mind Daeron. But her family in-laws call her Dae, Maglor nicknamed her that when he met her, this with her permission.
Amrod has no interest in anyone, he is very tired of everyone.

WIP (very much no longer) Wednesday
Thank you for the tag @melestasflight! Not tagging anyone else because it's very much no longer Wednesday (my dudes).
Here's some bits from A Million Dead and I?, wherein Finarfin sits in a garden for a few thousand years.
High King Arafinwë of the Noldor returned in triumph to Valinor, with his enemy humbled and cast into nonexistence, with scattered handfuls of the haggard and homeless elves of Beleriand-that-was looking for new homes in the West, with none of the family he thought to save. For many days he mourned with High Admiral Eärwen his wife, together remembering the sunken lands their sons had died for. At last he arose, and went to his councilors, and together finalized the plans he had proposed half a century prior, upon the eve of the long-awaited War. And when all the pronouncements had been published and the criers left their squares, Arafinwë laid the sceptre of his father upon the High Council’s table, placed the crowned helm Celebrimbor had forged for him upon his father’s throne, and departed from Tirion alone.
Arafinwë learns several things in the first few decades of vigil outside the Doors of Mandos. First: one cannot properly cry as a houseless spirit. “Oh Pianyellë, Pianyellë! I’m so sorry, I was so tired, I thought I could just lie down for a moment…” Second: robes which dry quickly are a necessity. “They never came back from a hunt, and I…I just didn’t see a reason to keep walking without them.” Third: the Grinding Ice was not only worse than he imagined, it was worse than he can imagine. “It…there were no Powers. There was no light. No judgement. He was dead, we’d already handed out his furs. I thought, I thought. He wasn’t using the rest anymore either, was he?” Fourth: his would not always be a welcome face. “You LEFT us, uncle. Left us to die, left us to ruin! It should’ve been you, down there, f-forced to watch as we fell. It sh–it shou…I should’ve been there! Atya, atya! If–if I was there, would…?”
I died at Alqualondë. Was trying to herd some Teler children away from the docks, get them somewhere safe. A sailor saw us, thought I was trying to kidnap them, ran me through. Can’t really blame him. I never had the chance to slay anyone, but…I knew I was going back to the docks as soon as the kids were out of the way. It…it took me a long while to grapple with that. I met the sailor, you know, back in there. Cleared the air between us. We looked for the kids, in the Halls and the tapestries. None of ‘em were there; they all lived! That…that felt pretty good, you know? I still did something, still had my little phrase in the Song.
I tried taking on a bear larger than I should have, and that was that. But the other hunters finished it off, and my furs weren’t too rent to still be useful. Sure, my once-betrothed’s been married to another man for two centuries now, but with the way we separated, he probably wouldn’t’ve had me back anyways. So no, I don’t regret it.

Hello, i’ll be participating in @nolofinweanweek via headcanons with an accompanying moodboard, and a fic.
This is for day 1.
Enjoy 7:D

Day 1: Noontide of Valinor - Darkening ● Fingolfin ● Anairë
Tumblr media
Day 1: Noontide of Valinor - Darkening ● Fingolfin ● Anairë - Headcanons
• a teenage Turgon once saw Maedhros lift both Maglor and Celegorm at once after they jumped on their eldest brother, the teenage Turgon then proceeded to jump on Fingon and flatten his older brother, who is a head shorter than him.
• Turgon, Aredhel, and Argon inherited their father’s height
• Fingon inherited not his father’s height but his mother’s grace and lithe body type
• All of Fingon’s siblings have flattened him several times
• Argon always greets his oldest brother by flattening him (its the first thing he does when he gets reembodied).
• The first time Fingolfin tried to kiss Anairë he just went for it and ended up headbudding her. Anairë always tells this story at family dinners post-canon.
• When Finwë went with their feanorian cousins to formenos after their half-uncle threatened Fingolfin with a sword; Turgon, Aredhel, and Argon took it as a damning sign of favoritism to the line of Miriel.
• Fingon always defends Finwë’s accidental Line-Of-Miriel-Favoritism in front of others, but never calls himself a scion of Finwë (Maedhros won’t realize this until long after the pre-darkening days)
• When Turgon starts courting Elenwë, his parents (embarrassed and amused respectively) tell him the headbutt-kiss story.
• Turgon still headbutts Elenwë (Idril ends up headbudding Tuor too, it travels down the line to even Elrond and Celebrian, to Elrond’s horror).

House of Fingolfin pet headcanons
Fingon: Despite him being my favourite character, I didn't think about what kind of pets he would have yet. Now that i'm thinking about that, it would be pretty iconic fof him to have an eagle as a pet (*cough* the Thangorodhrim incident *cough*). Think about it: He was friends with all the eagles after the rescue of Maedhros. One time he was out on his balcony, just chilling on a chair reading a book. An eagle built a nest over his balcony. Suddenly, one of the eagle babies gets thrown out of the nest by one of his siblings. High king Fingon, cool as he is, reacts fast and catches the eaglet before it hits the ground. The mother eagle is very grateful that he saved her baby. Over time they become friends and the mother eagle sometimes brings letters to his friends and fellow aristocrats (politic letter stuff from Doriath and Nargothrond. Idk how all of that works). The eagle doesnt really count as a pet but i'm counting it anyway. In Valinor he didn't have any pets and mostly looked after his siblings' pets, since they tended to not be very good pet owners. In Beleriand, additional to the eagle, he got a dog from Maedhros, who got him (the dog) from his brother Celegorm, who had a bunch of them. The dog was dalmatian and was terrible at hunting and cowered alot, so Fingon kept him inside most of the time and only went out with him for walks and visits to the vet.
Aredhel: Had a bunch of dogs from Celegorm, but also bred dogs herself. All hunting dogs, loved to cuddle with her and were very affectionate. Also had a tortoise in Valinor, but was terrible at caring for him. Fingon did all of the pet care for her, probably out of pity for the poor tortoise.
Turgon: Koi person. 100% koi owner. Number 1# koi fan. They are beautiful, gigantic, very expensive, super difficult to care for and Ulmo's personal favourite fish species. The last point is the most important one, since Turgon is an Ulmo stan. Turgon was actually a very good pet owner and cared for his kois, unlike his siblings (*cough* Aredhel). He even gave his kois names. His mother was always annoyed at him when he didn't come to the dinner table but ate outside at his koi pond and watched them swim. In Beleriand, kois were not native and none of the noldoli, including Turgon, brought kois to Beleriand since they are fish and very difficult to transport; Turgon kept goldfish in Gondolin as a replacement for the koi fish, and although he loved his goldies, he always wished he had brought his koi fish with him.
Argon: I am deeply convinced Argon was the baby child in the family. He's the youngest child, he died early, he literally gets zero text in the silm and nobody gives a shit about him. So what kind of pet does he get? Exactly. A rat. Who the fuck gives a shit about rats? No one, except me and maybe Fingon and Argon. Ron Weasley vibes. Uses two in one shampoo. His favourite movie was Ratatoui. Tell me this kid wouldn't have a rat as a pet.

You know, I love Feanor
but I also love the idea of Fingon throwing hands at him when they see each other in the halls of Mandos.
He can ignore Feanor's harmless insults at him and his family but the burning of the ships that indirectly caused Elenwe & Argon's deaths?
Absolutely not.
Also, Fingon would hate how much Maedhros (and the rest of the Feanorians but mostly Mae) suffered for their father. I can see him yelling at Feanor, "How you could do that to someone who loved you!?"
*Real interaction of Fingon & Feanor in Mandos*
Feanor, about Maedhros: I made a perfect heir.
Fingon: You fucked up a perfectly good child is what you did. Look at it. It's got anxiety.

House of Fingolfin | Getting Into a Fight For Their S/O
Tumblr media
A/N: Finally decided to continue more headcanons for the other elves.
Tumblr media
˖ ࣪ . ࿐♡˚. Fingolfin
He’s proper and never one for engaging in any physical altercations even if the situation escalated. Fingolfin is someone who would allow his men to dispose of the individual who dared to step to his level.
However, when the unknown situation arises and the need to become violent is necessary, I’m not sure who’s the one to put a leash on this terror of an elf, but it’s definitely more than five guards to hold him back from damaging the elf who spat absurdities at his family or you.
He’s made up of pure strength so brute force he required to drag him away from lunging at the ellon. Your appearance would assist in diluting his temper, drawing his focus to you and not the pulp of an elf lying on the floor.
Fingolfin would have landed hits to the elf, so his knuckles would be bruised, this you would nurse back to health while silently brooding and muttering under his breath at the speed of light.
You don’t pick up on anything he’s cursing on and on about, but you know it’s based on the situation. Just give him some kisses on his face and lead him far away to blow some steam off.
Take him for a long walk away from the kingdom and have him kick some rocks like a child. He’ll surely calm down after a week. “Have you calmed down yet?” “I’ve always been calm,” he says as his eye twitches.
Tumblr media
˖ ࣪ . ࿐♡˚. Fingon
Can appear impulsive when he isn’t thinking right, but like his father, Fingon’s a composed individual and refuses to throw the first fist for something that can be solved otherwise. His solution is to walk away or laugh it off, which probably provokes the other person to take insulting jabs at those precious to him.
It’s gonna take a lot to make him lunge at the individual, preferably, the latter being the one to throw the first hit leaving him with no choice but to defend himself. In that moment, you can bet all his frustration would come pouring out.
The entire scene is unusual, watching Fingon engage in a physical altercation with a random elf which leads to everyone knowing it’s something serious and rushing to pull him away. It’ll take just Maedhros or Turgon to tug Fingon off the battered ellon.
To you, the scene is horrifying after watching a gentle–natured elf engaged in a fight. You know he’s not thinking straight with fury in his mind, so it’s for you to step in and dissolve his temper with soothing words and touches to his face. His siblings would stand guard, unsure of whether he’d break away.
For starters, he’s ashamed that you witnessed him so unhinged and would rather disappear for days into weeks before confronting you. It’s for you to ensure him that you don’t hate him for it. You have to hold him down and tend to his wounds while listening to his endless apologies.
Make him feel better with lots of cuddles and spending time with him away from everyone. “Come for some love, Finno,” you say as he wastes no time in running over to snuggle into your arms.
Tumblr media
˖ ࣪ . ࿐♡˚. Turgon
Not the last person anyone would suspect to throw a fist, but the first person due to his cold temperament and judgemental persona. His temper is unmatched and will not hesitate to connect his fist with someone disrespecting him and his family.
I don’t believe anyone will survive his punches but let’s pretend this person does to receive a few more to create a brawl and you can witness Turgon becoming absolutely unhinged. It is quite easy to rile him up into becoming physically involved, yes, he would prefer to walk away but not when the disrespect is unspeakable.
Maybe his father has to pull him off or his brothers and cousins all together because like his father, he has the strength to match his stature. Turgon is a brute force of nature, so kudos to whoever is on the receiving end. However, what makes his attack dangerous is his stealth.
No one expects him to openly throw a hit because one minute he’s laughing and the next he’s on the floor beating someone up. Like?? It’s not a pleasant sight for you to witness though you’re aware of his sizzling temper and his bitter tongue. Plus, he probably got into fights as a child so it’s natural.
The only time you can approach him is when he’s already dragged off and in the healing wing being persecuted by his father (if he’s around). Your appearance would be the ice he needs to completely dissolve. He isn’t going to forget (this man holds grudges), but he’ll follow you as long as it’s far away from the altercation.
Tumblr media
Take him on a random spur-of-the-moment holiday and pamper him like a baby. Of course, you will have to prepare yourself for hearing him complain about the incident. Every. Single. Day. “Are you finished Káno?” “...No.”
˖ ࣪ . ࿐♡˚. Argon
It physically pains me to imagine this beanstalk engaging in a physical altercation with someone, however, he is described as impudent, so there you have it. Argon will throw around his fist like his older brother to beat some fool to a pulp for insulting his friends and family, and you.
He doesn’t want to hear a reason for why he shouldn’t do what he did, all he knows is that the elf said disrespectful comments and deserved to be handled with extra care. There’s no stopping Argon when he starts, given his hunk of a structure which has muscles to accompany his frame.
Definitely get the family to separate him from the perpetrator because he isn’t budging from his spot. They can pry him off and he’d slip away to finish what he started because he’s fighting them to let him go. You got to stand between him and the bruised ellon on the floor to catch his attention.
Talk sweetly to him, call his name—slip in a nickname—to soothe his unhinged nature. Reach for his hands and tug him away from the scene, telling him everything will be alright, and his family will take care of the rest.
Spend the time cleaning his wounds and littering kisses to his bruises. Use this moment to incorporate a ton of affection; maybe every time he feels angry, give him a kiss and a hug. Don’t think you’re escaping his grasp once he becomes aware of the affections you’re bequeathing.
Tumblr media
Like many others, shame becomes him, and he’ll endlessly apologise for the manner in which you saw him behaving, promising to never act impulsively like that again without gauging the situation firsthand.
“It’s alright, Káno. You were simply being my hero, defending me from those naysayers. Now come for some kisses.”

Mermaid AU: Imagine meeting the house of Fingolfin
Tumblr media
Mermaid AU
(I hope this will be to your liking Sunnie and I hope this works as a little special for getting your blog finally out of shadowban)
Requested by @a-contemplation-upon-flowers
Warnings: mentions of past violence, hunting, some racial stuff, curious mers, drama, reader getting almost and once knocked down by a wave.
-------------------------------------------------------
It was a prominent rule for the merfolk never to approach the lands or humans. However, it did not stop some curious mers from coming to the surface, and coincidentally you just happened to be on the beach when certain members of the house of Fingolfin were swimming around.
Fingon
-He was swimming around the shores with his siblings and cousins, playing a game where they would try to spot a human on the beach. It was a harmless game since humans rarely showed around on the lonely shore.
-It was a bit disappointing since he always wanted to see and talk with a human despite all the stories and rumors he had heard as a youngling. He didn't believe all humans were evil and that there would be one human who would not wish to harm a mer.
-So, when he suddenly spotted you picking some seashells on the beach, he was excited.
-His siblings and cousins dived away when he pointed at you, leaving him confused and alone. Shrugging his shoulders, he decided to swim toward you.
-Fingon quietly sneaked toward you, hiding behind rocks and observing you humming a song and picking up seashells.
-He was fascinated as you looked and behaved nothing like a monster many described your kind to be. Your legs looked strange, and you looked happy when you found a seashell to your collection.
-Tempted to talk to you. Fingon thought about approaching you, but before he could do anything, he got stopped by his younger brother. His brother tried to convince him to leave in a hushed tone while Fingon tried to calm him down and keep his voice down.
-Without him knowing, you heard their voices from the rocks and decided to investigate.
-Fingon shushed his brother and looked over the rocks to check on you, only to find you standing right in front of him. You stared at each other for a moment, making him nervous, but then you smiled and greeted him with a friendly hello.
-He was encouraged by your friendly nature, and you two began talking.
-He did not know you thought he was just another human until he jumped from the rocks to get closer to you, and you saw his tail. He froze when you stared at his lower half with surprise, but then you began to marvel at his blue scales and fins, calling them beautiful.
-You excitedly asked questions, and Fingon felt delighted despite feeling embarrassed when you kept touching his tail and fins.
-You quickly became friends, and he helped you find more seashells by diving them from the seafloor.
-When he asked why you did not seem bothered that he was a mer, you told him your parents raised you to be respectful toward everyone, even those who are a bit more unique and strange.
-You also grew up with your grandmother's stories about meeting a mer before, so you were excited to know his kind truly existed.
-His siblings thought he was mad for talking to you, and he got an earful from his parents when he returned home, and they found out what happened. They grounded him for a week.
-However, Fingon could not help but come to the beach more often, especially when you were waiting for him. He suspected he would get grounded, so you didn’t mind that you had to wait a week to see him again.
-You two would tell stories and jokes about your kin. Fingon especially liked listening to all the rumors humans had about his people.
-You sometimes brought him sweets and fruits from the land since he was interested in trying human food, and he became addicted to the sweets and fruits. He especially liked watermelons, and you made a habit of bringing watermelons whenever you visited him.
-He was not fond of tart things like lemons and star fruits. They reminded him of the sour oyster soup he hated as a child.
-He enjoyed spending time with you, and as your friendship grew, he brought you a golden ribbon since you liked them and how beautifully they decorated his dark hair. It was your sign of friendship and no matter what, Fingon would always value you as a friend.
Turgon
-Turgon preferred to follow the rules, so he didn’t swim around the beach very often. He would keep his distance and not even think about approaching the shores unless he had to babysit his siblings and keep them out of trouble.
-He believed that humans were nothing but trouble. If that wasn't true, why would his father and all the elders keep telling that to him and all the other younger mers?
-He would not even think about talking to a human.
-One day, he was on babysitting duty, and one of his younger siblings was playing around too close to the rocky shores. He tried to scold them, only to get himself lost in the rocks.
-He was frustrated by his predicament, loudly rambling and complaining about his situation as he then decided to sit on the rock to bathe in the sun for a moment. He was unaware his rambling had caught your attention.
-You were curious when you heard someone talk since no one else visited the beach but you for your knowledge. You walked to the rocks to investigate and found a merman sitting on a rock.
-He was muttering something under his breath while you observed him, and when the muttering stopped, he turned to look at you. You stared at each other for a moment before he shrieked and swooped his tail hard to splash you with water.
-You got hit by the wave, and you stood there shocked and soaked with water while the merman silently stared at you. You then called him rude.
-Turgon was mildly panicking. He thought some of the stories of your kind were exaggerations, but he didn’t think of them as a joke. He picked one of the seashells you dropped and threatened to hit you with it like it was some sort of weapon.
-You tried to calm him down and explain you meant no harm.
-Turgon was not willing to believe you, but since you looked harmless, he toned down his voice but kept his distance.
-You two began to talk, and he asked odd questions like why you did not have razor teeth or green skin like some elders said your kind to have. It made you laugh when you asked why he believed that.
-You decided to tease him by telling how some humans saw the merfolk as vicious sirens who lured innocent sailors away. Turgon was offended by that, so he lectured you, resulting in some small banter between you two.
-You bantered mers being more dangerous than humans, while Turgon did the opposite.
-Turgon felt frustrated with you, but he was relieved that you were not aggressive or vicious like how the stories made you out to be.
-He was still weary of you, but he thanked you when you guided him out of that rock maze, and he disappeared beneath the sea.
-He tried to forget the whole thing, but he only got more questions about your kind and sometimes went to the shore to see if you were there.
-When you saw him again, you welcomed him with a smile and conversed with him.
-He learned more about humans from you, and his views on them being troublesome creatures changed just a little thanks to you.
-Turgon did not like to admit it, but he was getting comfortable with you.
-He tried to visit you just a bit, and sometimes you brought him human items and food for him to try.
-He wasn’t planning to eat anything, but when you pestered him, he decided to try and see if some of them were so amazing like you said. Some of them tasted plan, but he grew to like tea and the almond biscuits.
-He grew to like your company, even if you irritated him, but he was afraid to consider you a friend because of the rules of his kin.
-He did not know how his family and people would react if they found out that he had befriended a human, so he tried to see you little as possible and visit you for only educational purposes.
-He tried to limit his visits, so he would not get attached to seeing you because – Turgon knew deep down in his heart he cared about you like a friend, and it would break his heart to see you hurt if he suddenly stopped visiting you.
-So, he tried to enjoy it while he still could.
Aredhel
- Aredhel has always been curious about humans and never understood why she couldn’t interact with them. Of course, there were stories of how they used to attack merfolk and take their scales and tails, but those times were hundreds of years ago, so things should be different.
-She understood the rules, but she has always been a rebel. So one day, when she was hanging out with her cousin, she spotted you picking some seashells on the beach, and her mischievous nature tempted her to sneak up on you and try to scare the living soul out of you.
-It was troublesome to get closer to you, so she caught your attention and lured you toward the rocks where she was hiding, and when you were close enough, that’s when she made her attack.
-You screamed when you felt someone grab on your ankle, so out of flight instinct, you dropped your seashells and kicked the perpetrator’s face.
-Aredhel groaned when your foot made contact with her face, and she came out of her hiding spot with a swelling nose. You got angry and started angrily scolding her while trying to ease the bleeding from her nose.
-Aredhel was snapping back at you as you sounded like her parents until she remembered you were a human, and her tail was out for your view, yet you didn’t scream or do anything like the elder mers once told her how humans would react to a mer.
-You were pretty annoyed and agitated at that moment because all you wanted to do was pick some seashells and have a peaceful day, so when she asked about your reaction to her fishy tail. You told her you didn’t give a damn about her being a mermaid.
-You got her interest, so she tried to make you stay and talk with her more as you tried to leave.
-She nagged you so much that you snapped at her and asked if she would stop talking if you came to see her tomorrow.
-It made Aredhel excited, so when she went home and spent the night. She left upon the first light of dawn and waited for you at the beach.
-You didn’t plan to see her again. However, you didn’t like breaking promises, so you sucked in your pride and returned to the beach where she was waiting.
-Aredhel was excited to see you again and wanted to play games with you. You first refused to enter the water, but then she pulled you in, and you got soaked from head to toe. It made you pissed, but since you got soaked – you decided to hold it in and play whatever she wanted.
-Playing games with her was fun for a while, and then you began sharing some stories about your people, and Aredhel made you answer some old questions about humans and their habits.
-You thought her questions were weird, but you answered and brought some stuff from the land for her to see and try.
-Aredhel fell in love with the sour sweets and brought you some old human artifacts from her cousins’ old hideout so you could identify them and tell her what they do since not many in her home knew what they were.
-You didn’t want to admit it, but spending time with her was starting to get fun, and you enjoyed telling her what each item did when she brought them for you to see. It was like educating an excited child.
-You still thought she was annoying, but when she brought seals to the surface, and they were friendly, your thoughts about her being annoying vanished.
-You were excited to pet the seals, and their black googly eyes made you weak from the knees. They were like overgrown sea puppies, and it made you chuckle when Aredhel told you they were like their version of a hunting hound.
-You started to see each other more often. You sometimes brought Aredhel some food and stuff to see, and she brought you some items from her home.
-But sometimes, she liked to brag and bring her hunting trophies for you to see, and you had gotten several heart attacks when she suddenly picked up a giant squid or a shark from the water with her two bare hands.
-You were impressed but found it quickly annoying.
-She was no ordinary little mermaid, that’s for sure.
Argon
-Argon has always been wary of humans. The stories about humans hunting his kind and taking their scales always made his skin crawl, even if it was an exaggeration to keep young mers in check.
-Following Turgon's example, he avoided the land and anything related to the surface world.
-So, when he and his siblings were swimming around the shore. He was anxious to go home since he didn’t like to spend much time near the human beach.
-After playing hide and seek, his tail suddenly got caught in old fishing nets.
-He went into a panic, trashing and trying to call out for his siblings, but his call ended up gaining someone else's attention, yours.
-You were picking some seashells until you were startled by someone’s calls for help. They were coming from the rocks, so you thought someone got injured, and like a decent person, you dropped everything and went to investigate, intending to help whoever was in trouble.
- However, you did not expect to find a boy with a tail of a fish caught in old fishing nets.
-Argon panicked when he saw you and your legs. He began to pull harder and hiss at you threateningly. You tried to calm him down since his trashing caused the nets to make cuts on his tail and lose a few scales.
-You were taken back when he spoke to you in a threatening tone, but you did not mind and tried to convince him to let you untie him.
-Argon was hesitant, but since he did not know any other way to get free without injuring himself. He let you approach him with a strict warning. You tried to comply and carefully started untying his tail from the nets.
-Argon felt uncomfortable and weary as you used your fingers to open the knots and pull the threads away.
-When you finally got the last of the nets off his tail. Argon didn't waste time and quickly swam away. You were happy and sad for a moment since the encounter was short-lived, but you hoped he would return safely to his home.
-Argon’s siblings embraced him when they finally found him. They then panicked when they noticed the cuts on his tail and tried to coerce him to tell them what happened.
-Argon didn’t want to get into trouble, so he told them he was clumsy and got stuck in some nets, leaving you out of the truth.
-They were glad he was alright and finally decided to go home with him.
-However, the encounter did not leave his mind, and he thought about how calm and gentle you were with him. You were nothing like how he imagined humans to be, and he was intrigued even though he did not want to admit it.
-He sometimes came to the shore to see if you were there and when he saw you again. He decided to approach you.
-You were startled when you saw him, but you quickly smiled and greeted him. Argon felt reluctant for a moment, but he mustered the courage to return your greeting.
-You asked about his well-being and tail, and he felt courageous enough to tell you that his tail had healed from the cuts and decided to ask you some questions.
-You were calm with him and answered his questions even if they were odd.
-You asked questions about his people to keep it fair and when Argon felt comfortable enough with you. You two ended up talking throughout the day.
-Argon enjoyed talking to you even though he most likely shouldn't have because you were a human, and it was forbidden for mers to interact with humans. He shouldn’t even be there.
-You introduced him to human items and foods, and he grew to like the fruits and berries you brought from the forest. Apples and pomegranates being his favorite so far.
-He thought about returning the favor and bringing some sweets and foods from his home, which turned out to be too sweet or sour for you. You tasted a little cake but had to spit it out immediately because it was salty as the sea.
-Argon felt terrible about it, but you quickly brushed it off with a smile. It seemed the merfolk food tasted stronger than human food.
-He started seeing you more often, and you would always wait at the same shore with a smile.
-You sometimes go swimming together, and Argon enjoys bringing you to see some dolphin pods, which sometimes end up in playtime with them.
-Argon knew he shouldn’t do this, but he couldn’t help it because he grew to like your company. It was thanks to you his views on humans had changed.
-He was still weary of them when you told him some people were nasty by heart and would do anything for wealth and power. But he now believed there were good humans too.
Fingolfin
-Fingolfin was a stickler for the rules, so Turgon most likely got that from him.
-He felt weary about the humans and the surface world. He heard all the stories about how they used to hunt his kin thousands of years ago and how the surface world was full of strange creatures. And because of all those stories, he preferred to stay away from the shores.
-However, there were those times when he had to break the rules, and this time it happened on the shores.
-He was with Feanor, who had an odd habit of coming to the shore to think and sketch his new inventions and ideas for jewelry.
-He always felt uncomfortable watching the lands from the rocks, waiting for a human or something else to happen, so he tried to convince Feanor to come back with him. However, since his brother was stubborn as a shark, the two ended up in a  banter that attracted someone’s attention.
-You were startled when you heard the two argue. It was loud and like something you would usually hear from two arguing siblings.
-You thought about leaving them alone since they were probably just two brothers having a banter, but when you heard them from the rocks and odd splashing sounds, you got curious and a little concerned. People usually avoid the rocky parts of the shore due to the currents and waves, so you decided to check if the two brothers were alright.
-Feanor and Fingolfin froze when they heard someone call out to them from the land. Feanor took a quick look, then dropped down, telling Fingolfin it was a human. Fingolfin panicked when he saw a frightened look on Feanor’s face.
-The younger mer asked what they should do, and Feanor snapped at him while trying to be silent, which led to another banter between them.
-When you got closer and called out to them again, the banter stopped.
-When you asked if anything was alright, you heard one of them answering and telling you everything was well.
-Fingolfin was silently panicking as he watched Feanor answering your calls and questions while the two hid behind the rocks. Interacting with humans was forbidden, and here – they were, talking to one. Their father was not going to be pleased about this.
-Feanor managed to assure you everything was well, and you decided to leave after making sure there was no emergency. You told them to be careful and call you if there was something since you were picking seashells on the beach.
-Fingolfin was marveled by Feanor’s coercion skills and anxious since you were not leaving the shore, so there was still a high risk of being seen. It was only by luck you thought they were humans and didn’t see their tails.
-Fingolfin tried to convince Feanor to leave, and he cursed under his breath when Feanor wanted to observe you like a rare fish.
-Feanor was quickly irritated by him, and the two snapped at each other while trying to be quiet, which did not work since you could hear them.
-You were confused when they talked about you like you were some rare animal, and you felt like something was not right, so you decided to investigate and silently sneak up on them.
-You were silent and careful when you sneaked behind the rocks. You used their banter to your advantage, and when you finally found them, you were stunned. You had never thought you would see a real merman, so you stared with shock as the two mers argued about leaving and observing.
-Fingolfin had no idea you already saw them till Feanor went quiet and stared at something behind him. When he turned, you three began awkwardly staring at each other. You were still trying to comprehend the realness of the situation, but when they saw you, it became an awkward silence.
-” Ummm…hi,” You waved.
-Fingolfin shrieked and swept his tail to splash you hard with water, and he succeeded as the force of the wave knocked you off the rocks. You yelped as the water hit you, and you dropped your seashells.
-When it was silent after your fall, Fingolfin and Feanor decided to check on you and found you knocked out on a rock, your seashells all around you. You were soaked, and it looked like sea stars were spinning above your head.
-Feanor then congratulated and told Fingolfin he killed you.
-Fingolfin could only groan at the remarks and asked what they should do since you were unconscious and it would be wrong to leave you alone on the rocks.
-Feanor suggested he should probably wait till you woke up, then proceeded to leave Fingolfin alone with you.
-Fingolfin cursed his half-brother when he suddenly got left alone with you. There was no doubt Feanor would tell their father and get him into trouble for breaking the rules. He could follow him and prevent it from happening, but he would leave you alone with possible dangers.
-He thought it was immoral to leave you, especially when you were unconscious and possibly injured by his mistake. Not to mention all the predators that could take the chance to eat you if he left you alone.
-He decided to go against all the rules and wait till you woke up, and it took some time before you finally woke up.
-You woke up with a terrible headache, and your seashells scattered all around you. You were confused and almost forgot what happened till you saw Fingolfin, and he explained what happened to you.
-You thanked him for watching over you and tried to have a small talk with him, but he was already leaving after apologizing to you for what happened.
-You were persistent in talking to him since you were excited and tried to make him stay a bit longer, which confused and unnerved him.
-However, when you spoke about some rumors and myths about the merfolk. It got Fingolfin’s attention, and he decided to ask about them.
-When he heard preposterous rumors and ideas about the merfolk, he was a little offended by some of the assumptions and decided to educate you on what was true and what was not.
-You listened as he told you about his kin, and time began to pass since he got caught up listening to you when you talked about your kin and confirmed rumors some mers had about humans.
-He was surprised at how pleasant it was to talk with you and how similar some humans were with merfolk. He was relieved when you told them the stories about humans hunting merfolk and scales were old stories of the past, and nowadays, humans don’t believe merfolks exist, so it was relatively safe.
-Fingolfin then panicked when he saw the sundown and realized he had overstayed.
-He quickly dived back into the water and bid you farewell, but when you asked if you would ever see him again – he hesitated. It was rather fun talking with you, and his views on humans had changed thanks to you, but there was still that feeling he should not interact with you.
-The rules were rules, and it was probably only for the best.
-When he told you his reasons, you nodded with understanding and thanked him for the experience of meeting him. You promised you’ll say nothing about him or his kin to other humans, not that anyone would believe you.
-You would have liked listening to him more about his kin, but if it was for the best, you do not talk to each other– you’ll not push it.
-Fingolfin was glad and trusted your words. You bid goodbye, and he returned to his home in Tirion.
-He got into trouble as anticipated, but after telling his father what happened and how he only stayed behind to make sure you were alright. His father was lenient enough to understand and let him go with only a warning, which displeased Feanor.
-Fingolfin couldn't forget about you for some time. You were curious and kind, unlike other humans and those he had conjured in his mind. You felt safe to be around, so he felt a bit disappointed by the rules for the first time in his life.
-He will be forever grateful to you because after talking with you, he was proud to say he knew more about humans than Feanor did because Feanor only knew what books and other mers told him. His dear half-older brother wanted to know what happened and what you told him, so he kept his mouth shut, and Feanor was left frustrated. It was enjoyment Fingolfin had not felt in a long time.
-However, like his brother. He would have liked to know more about humans from you.

For the Finwean grandkiddos:
In the House of Fingolfin, Turgon took all the height so there was none left for Aredhel and Argon definitely none for Argon. Fingon is probably idk average or slightly above average? I have yet to settle on a height for him. Heck he probably doesnt even know how tall he is
Finarfin’s House? Talls. Nothing but talls. Thanks Finarfin.
And in Fëanor’s? A lot of height variation. A few average (Maglor, Caranthir, Amrod), some below average (Curufin, Amras). A tall-ish boi (Celegorm). An Extra Tall (Maedhros)

I don't like the babyfication of the smallest siblings of the finwean families. I headcanon that they are worst than their older brothers.
Aegnor & Angrod: They live at Dorthonion!! Right in front of Thangorodrim. If someone is afraid of death its certainly not them. Plus they are named something like fire fist? Metal something? Those boys are chads
Argon: Fought orcs by himself and freezed to death. Give this boy some credit. I bet he was like a mini version of Turgon but with Anairë's looks.
Amras & Amrod: ooooh ok. I actually have a crazy headcanon for this two: Amrod dies at losgar and Amras goes crazy. Like actually crazy. He moves to Ossiriand and stablosjes on Amon Ereb, far from the north and there he becomes his own version of Frankenstein and brings Amrod back to life.
Putting that appart, i think he was the only brother who was actually eager for the Third Kinslaying. He survived the most and that speaks a lot to me about his strength.

hc that argon is the most outgoing most beautiful most passionate most vibrant nolofinwean... he's so full of life and fire and dreams, and it all goes up in smoke almost as soon as he sets foot in middle earth. he brings the best out of all his siblings, so when he's gone, they feel his absence deep within themselves
