i am not a woman, i'm a god
Tumblr media
I think I did a pretty good job bringing her to life in the sims!!! I wanna make a full-on edit with her, but this was plenty for tonight.
#ts4#the sims 4#sims 4 CAS#ts4 CAS#adventures in cas#my sims#cas#areelu#areelu p:wotr#pathfinder wrath of the righteous areelu#p:wotr#pathfinder wrath of the righteous#fandom sims#god I love this woman so fucking much#I finally understand all you people who get attached to non-companion NPCs from bg3.#seriously tho. If you like BG3 go play p:wotr!!!! You won't regret it.#I'm over 70 hours in and not even 2/3rds of the way done with the game. A true completionist run can apparently take 200 hours.#and the characters are amazing the story is incredible#the mythic path system blows my socks off. It's so unique and awesome and I wish more games had something like it#AND it goes all the way to level 20#it's based off the pathfinder rulesystem which is in some ways similar to dnd but different in others.#and this sexy lady is in it!!!!#also: being evil is ***actually*** a viable path in this game.#you don't lose out on any content by being evil. you can choose your alignment and in just about every conversation there's evil options.#also lawful and chaotic ones.#hell you can literally become a lich or a demon and go full-throttle evil.#this game is so fucking amazing and in some ways I think it's actually better than bg3.#but I know a lot of people here like bg3 for the aesthetic elements (mods + character customization + stunning visuals)#so those people probably won't care about p:wotr.#but if you're like me and you like playing RPGs based on tabletop systems and you like interesting stories then you should totally play.

Update on my Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous obsession: I have fallen head over heels in love with Areelu. I'm OBSESSED with this woman. She may be responsible for causing the apocalypse, but I don't care. I love her. I'm kind of tempted to angle for the secret ending, but we'll see what happens.
Also, I've been torn between romancing Lann and Galfrey, but I just did Lann's personal quest in Chapter 4, and I think that sold me on him. I love that man to the ends of the earth, and we all know I love some whump-adjacent things. (though I do wish that being near Samankelev actually gave him negative buffs.... Would it make the fight more miserable? Yes. Do I want it anyways? Also yes.)
Also, Woljif and Arushalae are my best friends. Woljif's personal quest in Chapter 4 and him calling my character "the best thing that ever happened to [him]" broke me a little bit. And I just adore Arushalae so fucking much. Her learning to dream???? So fucking pure and adorable, I love it.
(If I had a nickle for every time I'd fallen in love with a fictional chaotic purple tiefling with curled horns who convinced a group of people that he was someone important, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.)
And Ember... my dear Ember. Where I'm at pretty soon we'll be going to talk to Nocticula, and you'd better believe I'm taking her with me. Do I know this will probably have interesting consequences? Yes. Am I going to let her say whatever she wants anyways? Also yes. I think Reda (my ranger PC) is both vaguely amused by and also inspired by Ember. Like, Reda doesn't seen how someone who's gone through so much horror can be so kind, even to the people who hurt her. But at the same time, she finds it endearing, and Ember helps her see the good in the world, and helps keep her from losing hope during the Crusade and all that.

5, 6, and 11 for Sal for the KC asks please! 👀
5. Did you have a fixed team? If so, who did you take, and why? Salvadore took the people along he needed and / or trusted most. Daeran: Not only did he strongly enjoy his company from the very start, he always was highly useful and capable within his fields of expertise and beyond. Aside from this, of course, Salvadore’s feelings for him grew serious quite fast and he wanted him at his side to talk to him, to hear his opinions, and spend time with him. Daeran was in the group always. You can’t expect Salvadore to leave without his Field Attaché. Regill: Salvadore often wished he could multiply him. On one hand, he needed him in charge in Drezen when he himself had to go on missions, on the other hand, he wanted him present during those missions as well. In the end, he left things in Drezen to Irabeth and Anevia quite often, because he cherishes and wanted Regill’s company, experience, skills, and advice. Woljif: All those chests would have stayed locked without him and it’s far easier to walk ahead with your nose as high as Sal’s if you are warned of each and every trap. Furthermore, Woljif is a skillful fighter making excellent damage. More importantly: Despite admitting it quite late, Salvadore always enjoyed having him around and missed him a lot during the short period (when he ran off) he wasn’t in the group. Arueshalae: Those arrows are deadly! She was highly valuable in battle, but Sal mostly took her along because of the friendship developing between the two of them. Cassius: Of course, Salvadore always has his beloved leopard with him. The last member in the group changed, depending on quest and whose knowledge and skills would come in most handy. Usually, the place got filled by Wenduag, Sosiel or Greybor, Ember on missions not too dangerous to take along a child. Very rarely, it happened that Salvadore changed the team completely if there was an important reason: During Daeran’s act V quest, for example. He only picked those of his companions who would keep the existence of the Other and the fact that Daeran had served as their portal secret – even after everything would be resolved. 6. Did they intervene in Pharasma’s court? If so, what did they decide? Salvadore’s emotions towards Areelu are quite complicated. I wrote a lot about them here. Despite her terrible deeds, he always felt that, on a personal level, he owes her a lot. Without her, he wouldn’t have reached what he did to the same overwhelming extent, Knight Commander, ruler of the Wounded Lands and Mendev, celebrated hero and savior, celestial being. Furthermore, he saw guidance in some of her actions and words. It may be connected to the complicated relationship with his own mother and his struggle to get her attention when he still was a child, but it hurt him when eventually, he got to know that the hint of pride and affection he had recognized in her behavior was about Areelu’s actual son, never about him. Nonetheless, he spoke in Areelu’s favor when she stood in front of Pharasma and cleared his debt. 11. What did your KC think of the Hand of the Inheritor? His very first thought, not without jealousy: Impressive wings. I found it kind of entertaining (for that very reason) that eventually he got his own. While knowing that he wasn’t Iomedae’s chosen one long before he found out about the actual origin of his powers (being an atheist with no connection to the goddess at all), he liked to use this rumor in his favor and the presence of the Hand of the Inheritor served this very purpose even further and his radiant reputation in front of his soldiers, allies and enemies alike. Now this sounds cold, doesn’t it? Salvadore saw more in him than a political tool, of course. He cherished him for his principles, his honor, and ideas of goodness they shared. When the Hand of the Inheritor stood firmly at his side during Galfrey’s unsuccessful attempt to strip him off his title, Salvadore thought that a friendship could develop from mutual respect and loyalty between the angel and him. All the more, he was sincerely hurt when the Hand of the Inheritor turned his back on him the moment the truth about his powers got revealed. Suddenly nothing he had done, nothing he had accomplished, seemed to be of any worth to him anymore, all things he had praised him for were meaningless now. If you betray and humiliate him like that after he already decided to let you close, it’s very hard to regain Salvadore’s trust. Of course, he gave him back his heart. But it was a patronizing gesture, to raise above him while he lay on the ground. When the Hand of the Inheritor apologized, Salvadore – being on angel path – would have had the chance to forgive him so fully that it would have allowed him to return to Heaven immediately. But he couldn’t. He couldn’t forgive him yet. The Hand of the Inheritor decided to live among mortals for a while, to study them and learn. Salvadore genuinely hopes he’ll meet him again. He will be ready to forgive him then.

Areelu Vorlesh, Architect of the Worldwound.
She very easily became one of my favorite characters; every time she showed up she captivated me and left me wanting more, and her story and design are just incredible. Love her. <3

someone tagged my Areelu post as "bg3", which is very funny to me. BG3 wishes it had a "villain" character as interesting as Areelu. She's a genius, she's a monster, she's a goddess. She did what a literal demon lord couldn't do and tore open a rift in the worlds. She tortured an angel for centuries. She caused the apocalypse. She became a demon, but answers to no demon lord. She experimented on the Commander and made them into a supernatural entity, setting the entire events of the entire game in motion. She's pulling the strings, she's watching without intervening. Oh, and she can turn you into a god. She's FASCINATING.
Anyways, this is your sign to go play Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. I honestly enjoyed several parts of it even more than BG3.

5, 11, and 20 for Sal!
5. Did your OC accept Nocticula’s gift? Why or why not? A gift that would allow her access to his mind and control over him ... Salvadore would never accept such a thing. There is nothing that causes him stronger horror than being the puppet of another being and not the master of his own decisions anymore. Of course, he didn’t show that to her either. He stayed indifferent towards her with his usual aloof arrogance, refused the gift, passed all the will checks, and only viewed her as the most convenient way to reach his goals in the Abyss and leave it again. 11. Thoughts on tentacles? He thinks they're neat. 😁 They appear in some stories that captured his interest. The kink list of this man is long and under ‘T’ you might find the very word in question. He also enjoys them as food if they’re from a sea creature he likes to eat. Regarding that poor fellow experiencing some trouble hearing people mention them? Well, Salvadore had far too much fun torturing him, talking to him all earnest of course, and only with the slightest hint of amusement in his eyes for those who knew him too well. It was Daeran (Daeran of all people, imagine!) who protected the stranger, stopped the cruel little game he played, and Salvadore from discovering the details of that story. A pity! 20. Your OC’s thoughts on Areelu Vorlesh? They are complicated or rather … multifaceted. She fascinated him. Someone cherishing knowledge as highly as her, someone with her abilities, ambition and hunger for power …, as much as he despised her methods and what she did to the world, she also had a handful of traits he admired. Furthermore, she guided him, left him hints of something he was eager for: Pieces of the truth, pieces to climb higher and higher with, and he hunted them, deep down excited and eager for what she had to give, interpreting her words, attempting to outsmart her without having the whole picture. All of it raised a question in his mind when her motives became clearer: If he was in her place, what wouldn’t he do to get back the one he loves most? Is he actually better because he hasn’t been tested in this way? Or would he stay true to his beliefs and principles even then? Stronger than her? Yes, he remembers the torture, yes eventually he got to know about her experiments with his soul. He shook it off – not the consequences, what he went through left harsh traces he still suffers from – but the obligation to admit on any weakness in it. He was able to bear it and anything that happened only equipped him with new powers and – so much more importantly – put him in the position of rulership he always dreamed of and he would never have reached that easily without Areelu’s intervention. Where he stands, he stands because of her. How could he ever forget this fact? A magical being beyond comprehension, leader of the Fifth Crusade (eventually king), in a relationship with someone he loves more than his life, as much as he believes in his very own strengths and abilities, he’s not so delusional to think he would have reached all of this without Areelu’s plan. None of those thoughts ever stopped him from viewing it as his first and most important duty to close the worldwound and stop further death and destruction, just his emotions for Areelu, they aren’t as negative as they should be due to her terrible crimes. The moment she finally laid open all the rest, he almost was … hurt in a very abstract way, knowing now it never has been about him but her child instead when she guided him towards understanding. – The child she expected to take over and erase him. Well, it didn’t work, he stayed very much himself, as she admits too, and he feels intense relief about the fact, because, as mentioned above, it’s his worst fear to be controlled and changed in such a way. [If anyone wonders: I take it as a truth the way it's said in this scene on angel path and as canon for my state of the world, legend path may include another statement about the topic but angel gets this one, no clear mention of memory loss, no mention of the knight commander not being themselves. Also, I would despise Salvadore not being himself through the game and it would ruin it for me, so I go with: The canon story differs from path to path anyway and in this regard too and therefore is a little different for anyone.] Well, in the end he killed her, fulfilled his duty, closed the worldwound. He felt nothing but a vague sadness overshadowing the victory. (Luckily he still got to fight Deskari and after this battle he fully realized the accomplishment.) Still, he owes Areelu a lot and that’s why he spoke for her in front of Pharasma when the time had come.
