I love the shape language for Machete and Vasco, how angular and pointy the former is VS how round and soft the other... It's so GOOD I adore that
Thank you! I like the contrast as well, it makes them very fun to draw together. I try to keep them visually distinct while still making sure that they look harmonious and complementary next to each other.
#some more design musings that I've noticed that don't really matter but I tend to think about when drawing them:#Machete's shapes have an upward direction the ears the neck fluff and even the tip of his snout has that upturned angle#while Vasco's vibe is more loose and relaxed his huge floppy ears almost make him look like he's melting#neither of them have strong markings but the positioning of the gradients they have is very similar it's just different colors#Vasco has dark almond eyes (with what I can only describe as disney eyelashes)#his irises appear nearly black but if you shone a strong light directly on them they'd reveal a honey/amber hue#Machete's eyes are big and prominent with disproportionally small pupils#lately I've been drawing him with just the faintest salmon colored irises#but if the color scheme of the piece calls for it they can be depicted more vividly red#Machete has longer untameable fur here and there while Vasco is uniformly smooth and velvety#Machete is supposed to be the serious and inhibited half of the two but his face has a lot more expressive potential than Vasco's#it's actually kind of a struggle that I can't make Vasco emote with his ears at all those are typically a huge advantage in furry art#Vasco's body language is open and casual he takes up space confidently#Machete is usually very closed and defensive he has a habit of crossing his arms and legs and keeping his hands together and close to body#in general Vasco shouldn't be wearing anything black or red and Machete can't be seen wearing blue or gold#white is neutral territory it's usually the color of sleepwear and undershirts and as a result has a more intimate tone to it#answered#ardate

You mentioned Gus is a bit of a lonely guy- how come? Does he have any close relationships? How's it going for him regarding family, friends, love? Holds him gently I hope his feelings of solitude untangle into well-earned warmth ♥
Well Gus by all he knows it's the only one of his moth species, as well as he grew up v much dealing with the fact that he wasn't human and was seen as a monster/cryptid [he does recognize his title being the "mothman" as his last name]
While Gus does end up able to talk and very much learned how to be a "person" per say- he kinda had to push himself to understand it! And to get what human customs were! which i imagine having to just try and copy it from people who are legit afraid of you its gotta be a bit hard to work with HJDFHJHD but he was never the giving up type
He only got really close to people at the age of 16 and finally gets the chance to interact with em much Much closer, eventually getting a best friend and a few more access to a few things (I don't have much specifics on this part of his life but! He does have a best friend called Jackie!)
When he finally meets more creatures n monsters like him it (possibly this being Scott n Don) happens once he's in his 20's but by then he already worked a few stuff out!

my million dollar next Mass Effect Installment idea:
ME 3 alternative universe/divergence where you play as a recruited Morinth the Ardat Yakshi after the ill fated Shepard romance, who suddenly realizes “…oh. shit. i uh. probably should not have eaten that guy. considering he was supposed to. you know. save all our asses.”
(bonus points cause she absorbed the weird psychic shepard had with them too so now she’s literally like - “you are what you eat”ed a Chosen One trope)
so the game is you escaping and building your own motley crew of vagabonds banding together against BOTH the collectors and the crew of the normandy who are out for your blood
for character customization, let’s play into the lore theory that Asari can appear different to play on each individuals attraction, and you can change your asari appearance at will to resemble different species and have different tendril styles, but your initially selected marking pattern stays the same, and your sort of key identifier
Act 1: without shepard, the war is ongoing but the Collectors seem to be winning - most worlds are in post apacalyptic state, people scrabbling to survive, starts out on Omega as kind of the last refuge of motley crews. In trying to survive, you scrabble together a bit of a motley gang of your own, but the arrival of the normandy has you fleeing Omega with them to try and find somewhere else “safe” to hunker down for a bit.
actions in previous ME saves can affect omega gang strength and attitudes of certain NPCs like Aria T’Loak.
Act 2: the realization of well shit no where is fucking safe I guess. is this.. my fault? …damn. i guess… i guess it’s up to me to fix. So time to start building strength and amassing more companions/allies, re: traditional mass effect.
Key Narrative Decisions: try to patch shit up in the official channels, go for a pardon, talk to actual world leaders, risk the normandy’s vengeance and try to parlay to net bigger better firepower and easier battles? or get creative with limited resources and wilder plans to lean FULLY into the criminal element and lead the gangs of the underworld against the collectors, and establish yourselves as the new leaders of the galaxy?

#mira makes gifs ✨#sophie shepard#james vega#EDI#urdnot grunt#urdnot wrex#mass effect#mass effect 3#me3#mass effect legendary edition#dailygaming#i finally finished gif’ing traverse and this set is cursed is all i will say :)#i don’t know why this one was such a pain in the ass but compressing them was a massive chore for some reason#and my dumb ass realized as i was assembling i set the frame hold wrong for like 4 of them so i had to go back and redo a few of them 🙃#the thing that pissed me off most is that there’s usually a nice planet shot with a normandy fly in to make a header from#and traverse just doesn’t fucking get one for some reason?? so ig we get rachni queen header#i’m so sorry but this is like my least favorite mission in the game 😭#like i do like grunt but this mission is just meh on all fronts to me at least#like the decision from ME1 to spare or destroy the rachni queen is so fucking cool?? and it has 0 consequences in ME3 LMAO#not to mention that half of this mission is just standing around with a flame thrower burning down webs lol#the only cool thing i’ll say is i ADORE the Aliens™️/xenomorph vibes that the mission has!! that is so cool the first time around#the cutscenes are alright but there’s really only some towards the front end and the back end? so you miss so much of the middle#which makes it hard to connect what’s going on to make a best of: set lol#grunt has some nice scenes if you have him here and the rachni queen quotes are cool#the enemies are also kind of interesting in concept? i just wish the rachni decision from ME1 had more weight here#james and EDI have a few nice lines towards the front in the shuttle but there’s not a ton of great dialogue like grissom has tbh#idk this mission is just okay to me i guess? like the ardat-yakshi sanctuary with samara is much more interesting to me#i feel like this one needed longer to cook and the rachni deserved more weight in the mission based on your decision in ME1#james and EDI looked cute like always!! and soph ate it up in cleric’s guardian armors for shepard (which continues to be gorgeous ❤️🔥✨)#idk seeing grunt and playing fashion dress up was the best part of this mission besides the wrex cameo at the end lmao
