Historic site of the week: Fort Bard

Fort Bard is a monumental 19th century fortress in Aosta Valley, northern Italy. The current fortifications were built by house of Savoy between 1830 and 1838 to protect historic route between Italy and France.

{𝗟𝗮 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹é𝗲 𝗱'𝗔𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲, 𝗹𝗮 𝗻𝘂𝗶𝘁} Le soir de notre arrivée à Epinel, Mattia nous a envoyés dîner au "Petit bar" nouvellement ouvert dans le village (𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘧 𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘱𝘴 𝘯𝘦 𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘢î𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘴 𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘦), et nous a dit de revenir assez tôt pour venir l'écouter jouer un peu de musique en sirotant une liqueur maison. Ce soir là j'ai versé quelques larmes en pensant à sa maman qui aurait sans doute aimé cette soirée pleine de douceur. Mattia a terminé son tour de chant par "Heart of gold", chanson parfaite pour accompagner mes pensées. Nous avons beaucoup aimé les ciels nocturnes de Plan de la Tour et de Cogne, admiré les orages qui nous ont tourné autour certains soirs, illuminant le ciel pendant une fraction de seconde et assourdissant le soir de gros grondement parfois menaçants.
