also, yes, i still like this group of kiddos better than the group in the first game. maybe because they mostly treat each other like friends and are actively trying to treat each other like friends (nagito...is a different story, but he's doing his best in his own way) - it's not just makoto running around like we're all friends while everyone else is super suspicious of each other - the fragments are actually friends trying to make each other feel better while they deal with everything - and like. i like them so much better for that.

which is probably supposed to play into the twist re: fragments of despair because then it hurts more when you know that these people were basically junko's peeps, which should be effective! but i already know they're that, and i'm still attached to them.

honestly, other than the teru teru stuff and the compromising mikan stuff in the first case and monokuma consistently and constantly beating up on monomi for shits and giggles. i overall like these parts of the game better.

....

i don't like the mechanics better (i hate the class trials now, and i hate that they're so much longer, and i hate the changes they made to the mechanics, and i'm so glad i finished nagito's ftes because his ability might actually help me in the trials, and i don't like how the monomono machine stuff has been changed ish but it's still usually better to throw one coin in at a time instead of putting a bunch of coins in all at once. mostly).

but i like the characters better, which gets me more invested in the story.

I think one of the main reasons why sdr2 is my fav is that the cast feels much more natural and united compared to the other groups

Like the thh cast has a very scattered feel to them, with people mostly being by themselves or in a very small group (and sometimes, the people in said groups aren't really that close). When I think of the groups in thh, the only ones that spring to mind that seem actually CLOSE is Sakura-Aoi, Mondo-Taka & Makoto-Kyoko

And V3 then has very clearly defined groups that mingle with each other and... not much outside of that. We have stuff like Tenko-Himiko-Angie, Miu-Kiibo and Shuichi-Maki-Kaito. Outside of groups, characters usually don't have very unique or meaningful dynamics or interactions

Sdr2 on the hand have very fleshed out relationships and dynamics with EVERYONE. Like, yeah of course there are still established groups like Sonia-Kazuichi-Gundham, Fuyuhiko-Peko and Akane-Nekomaru but even then those groups mesh and mingle well with the rest of the cast

In thh & V3 I find it hard to imagine unique and interesting interactions between a lot of the characters, but in sdr2 you could give me any combination of characters and I'd be able to imagine them interacting in a fun and interesting way

They're also the only class I could genuinely imagine all getting along and having fun together outside the killing game. But they're not all friends either, which makes the unison and feel of the cast more natural and fun! Hiyoko-Mikan aren't friends. Fuyuhiko-Mahiru aren't friends. But they still have meaningful and interesting dynamics with each other

Not only that, but even if you take each character seperately I genuinely like them all. Like, actively like them. Yes, even Teruteru and Hiyoko. I find each and every one of them compelling in their own way. I like Kazuichis well-meaning stupidity, I like Gundhams love of life, I like Ibukis cheery attitude, I like Mikans care for others, I like Pekos devotion. I enjoy them all

I don't have a good way to end this just. sdr2 cast my beloveds

Seraph of the end trauma rant pt2 :3

So, I’m back. Not at midnight for once :0

I made the pt1, and I have more ideas. SO today will be (probably) the only other part.

With Yuu, Shinoa, Mitsuba, and Narumi :3

TW: Death, murder, suicide,

Okay, starting off strong with the main character Yuu. He is probably focused on the most, both him and his trauma, so I won’t cover too much. However, I feel like the survivors guilt aspect isn’t shown as much as it could. Like how he felt so guilty about leaving Mika those years ago, even though Mika repeatedly tells him it’s fine. I just feel that could have been shown more. Also the whole thing with his dad trying to kill him and mum committing because she hated Yuu so much??? He has to be conscious about that, and clearly we need more on his reaction and mental state due to it.

Okay! Shinoa now! ;3 She’s the youngest of the most important family in the JIDA, and still ditched the army for Yuu. That has to be lots of pressure, and she still left. That takes guts, or zero impulse control, or both. She lost her sister, but we never really get to see much about that, exercise for Mahiru and Guren, but nothing much about their sisterly bond (if they had one). She had to hide all of the knowledge about the experimentation from the squad, and especially Yuu, which must have been eating her alive.

Okay, Mitsubaaaa :) She has lots to unpack, but I’ll keep it short. She is also a member of a pretty important family in the JIDA, and her sister and her don’t have a great relationship. Her sister, Aoi, works close with Kureto, so (if I were her at least) the guilt she must feel about the Seraph of the End experiment, especially since it was on her squad-mates sister, but be intense. She ALSO feels responsible for the death of her old squad, and watch them get killed. Again, survivors guilt and guilt in general. And then there’s also the fact that the JIDA tried to promote her rank, just because she of her family. I know that being judged on your family can suck, and she said it herself that it she gets a promotion, she wants it to be because of her work specifically.

Rounding off this rant we have the fabulous Narumi. Right off the bat I can say that, as someone three years older than Shinoa Squad, he already probably feels accountable and responsible for them and their safety. And then the poor guy had to watch his whole squad murdered in the space of a few hours. Idk abt y’all, but the scene in Shinjuku broke me, and then Nagoya added salt to the wound. The look on his face after Shinjuku…and then how he didn’t get any time to mourn because of Nagoya, where he lost MORE friends and squad mates, and then he didn’t get to grieve then either because he had to keep fighting, then protect Yuu, then run away.

In summary, for both pt1 and pt2: these poor guys are only teenagers and are going through some really tough shit. Get them therapy, or at least blankets, a warm drink, and cuddles. Because holy fuck they need them.

Sorry if i am bothering but what do you think abaout Wlw Mahiru ships? Or Mahiru and female cast friendships ?

Personally, I'm a GureMahi stan (that being my favorite ship in all of Owari no Seraph, followed by MikaYuu) The idea of WLW GureMahi sounds pretty nice to me.

Mahiru kind of succumbs to shitty writing so her friendships with the female cast aren't exactly the best. However, if it were up to me...

Mahiru and Mito: Close friends in childhood, soon drifted apart because of their different aspirations. (Mito being unsure what to do with her life, and Mahiru knowing exactly what she wants and how to get it, even if the means aren't the best way of doing so). Mito dearly misses Mahiru, but Mahiru hasn't had the time of day to think about her old friendships and what she had left behind.

Mahiru and Sayuri: One of the invitees to Mahiru's childhood sleepovers. Sure, her dad didn't like it when those that were lower than them were around Hiiragi children (of course, excluding houses that served them), especially if they served the Ichinoses. Sayuri developed a small crush on Mahiru after she had saved her from humiliation via. Seishirou the fuckstain

Mahiru and Shigure: Met when Guren wasn't home. Mahiru took a liking to Shigure and made a sweet comment about how she and Guren were "almost like siblings". Shigure did not take it too kindly though. Even despite this, Mahiru made an effort to include her in activities. (I find that Shigure would be on the more anti-social end of the spectrum)

Mahiru and Aoi: Became friends upon Aoi's arrival to the Hiiragi house. Despite not being that close, Mahiru found her character to be interesting (as she held herself similarly to Guren). Since they were the "ladies of the Hiiragi house" (she was attempting to imply that Aoi would soon marry Kureto, which she completely missed) they had to stick together. They drifted apart after Mahiru showed opposition to Kureto.

I love it when people ask me stuff! So do not be afraid that you're "bothering me" (when in fact I love infodumping) and thank you for the ask ^_^

So a friend and I started with a small premise that I hadn't seen covered in any fanfics, and it quickly exploded into this big AU. And I just feel the need to share it. The premise was "What if Ryota didn't escape and get Chisa's help after Nagito got shot". And it ended up becoming a Civil War AU.

See it starts with the premise of Junko subjecting Chiaki to the brainwashing procedure, who then in turn helps put Nagito through it (the memory of her restraining his wounded body haunts them both after rehabilitation). And they along with Mikan go back to Class 77 to make sure everyone thinks things are okay, while Junko reconditions Ryota.

Except...there's a snag. Peko's injuries from her fight with Mukuro, combined with Nagito seemingly no longer being concerned with the Ultimate Soldier, makes Peko and Fuyuhiko think "Something screwy is going on here". And it leads to a schism when Chiaki tries swaying the class to go along with her (into a trap).

On one side are Fyuyhiko, Peko, and Chisa, who are joined by the suspicious Imposter, Hiyoko, and Gundham. Who also manage to sway Ibuki and (just barely Kazuichi). Meanwhile Chiaki manages to win over Sonia, Nekomaru, Akane, and Teruteru through their faith in her. And with a bit of pressure from Mikan they convince Mahiru to go along with them. Exploiting the suspicion that Fuyuhiko was responsible for Sato's murder.

So the AU is heading towards a Tragedy with half of Class 77 brainwashed, and the others trying to capture and save them. With a lot more high emotions this time, especially in regards to Imposter with Ryota and Mikan, as well as the four Twilight Syndrome girls (Hiyoko and Mahiru most of all)...But then we went even more off the rails with the idea that Chiaki thinks to herself "Wouldn't it be so despairing if after all of this, the mastermind was killed by their own thralls before she got to see the fruits of her work?"

Which leads to Chiaki conspiring a coup de tat of Ultimate Despair, and convincing Izuru to side with her. Making incapacitating Mukuro and killing Junko trivial. With Chiaki deciding that actually it'd be far more fun to make Junko's class like the rest of them than go through all that Killing Game silliness. Leading to them going after members of Class 78 to make into more Ultimate Despairs.

Mukuro manages to escape and forms a VERY uneasy alliance with Team Chisa. Peko and Fuyuhiko making it clear that they consider her responsible for what's happened to their classmates, and that they won't hesitate to slaughter her if she gives them one reason.

In the end on Team Chiaki's side we have Chiaki herself, Nagito, Mikan, Ryota, Sonia, Mahiru, Nekomaru, Akane, and Teruteru from Class 77. And Makoto, Kyoko, Sakura, Aoi, Taka, Chihiro, Leon, and Toko joining them from Class 78. Meanwhile on Team Chisa we have Chisa herself, Fuyuhiko, Peko, Imposter, Hiyoko, Gundham, Ibuki, and Kazuichi. And Mukuro, Byakuya, Sayaka, Mondo, Celeste, Hifumi, and Yasuhiro joining them from Class 78. With Syo as Team Chisa's double agent within Team Chiaki. With Izuru kind of low-key supporting the Despairs if he feels in the mood for it.

Just imagine all the character interactions that could go on. Fuyuhiko having to deal with the ramifications of his murdering Sato outside of the Neo World Program. Imposter working alongside the real Byakuya. A whole lot of angst about people close to them being on the opposing side (Imposter vs Ryota and Mikan, Hiyoko vs Mahiru, Gundham vs Sonia, Mukuro and Sayaka vs Makoto, Mondo vs Taka and Chihiro).

And the shipping! Plenty of Ikuzono potential here, with Sayaka being Mukuro's biggest advocate after everyone else feels betrayed by her. Aoi and Sakura being Despair girlfriends. A very twisted dysfunctional Komanami where Chiaki hurts Nagito and he sometimes hurts her back. Which leads to a whole lot of angst after deprogramming, with both struggling to look each other in the eye. And also...Despair Makoto x Servant/Despair Komaegi!

Is this the same person who started the Vampire Chiaki AU? Because if so, I think I'm getting a sense of your narrative tastes, lol! I love how intricate this is.

The first thing that jumped out to me here was the idea of Despair Mahiru and Non-Despair Hiyoko, mainly because I'm so curious as to whether their friendship could survive that.

Like, if the dust settles and Mahiru eventually isn't despair anymore, Hiyoko's trust was still violated by someone she really cared about, and that's a pretty big deal for her.

Also, Toxic Despair Komanami sounds like it could be very fun. They both like to play games, after all! They would be ruinous. I think I prefer shipping both of them with Non-Despair Makoto than Despair Makoto, but that's because I like to whump the luckster, lol.

Rambling About An OC:

Haven’t talked about them much, but since I’m in the middle of planning out a story cantering around them I should probably change that. Just gonna share some info about a Danganronpa OC that I have named Hoshi Fukumuto. There’ll be spoilers for the entire Hope’s Peak saga of DR, so more will be written under the cut!!

Let’s start with some basics…

Age: Early 20’s {around 23 years old}.

Gender: Non-Binary Woman {She/They}.

Height: 5’8 {173cm}.

Weight: 126 lbs {57kg}.

Blood Type: AB.

Date of Birth: October 23rd {Scorpio}.

Likes: Skateboarding, Caffeine {especially cola, coffee & energy drinks}, Drawing, Customizing Skate Decks & Collecting Shoes.

Dislikes: Diet Drinks {especially diet cola}, Mushrooms {is allergic}, Clowns {has coulrophobia}, Being Judged/Underestimated & Entitled People.

Special Notes: Head of Future Foundation’s 13th Branch {current}, Ultimate Skateboarder {former}.

In terms of her personality, Hoshi is someone who’s very confident {almost can be seen as cockiness}, very brave {not easily scared}, loyal {isn’t the type to ditch their loved ones easily}, easygoing, athletic {loves being active}, creative, hardworking, stubborn {can be seen as a good or a bad thing depending on context}, sarcastic {quick to respond with snarky comments}, incredibly reckless {when it comes to her own wellbeing} and adaptable amongst other things.

Currently, Hoshi’s the active head of the Future Foundation’s 13th branch. When she was enrolled at Hope’s Peak Academy, they were a member of Class 76 alongside Seiko Kimura, Ruruka Ando & Sonosuke Izayoi {who’d also become fellow Future Foundation branch leaders}. They were also in a close-knit friend group with a few members of Class 77-B, which included… Mikan Tsumiki, Hiyoko Saionji, Ibuki Mioda & Mahiru Koizumi {who she’d end up falling in love with}. After the girls & the rest of their classmates had been brainwashed/became members of Ultimate Despair, Hoshi was left devastated.

When Hoshi hears about Makoto Naegi’s plan to help the Remnants of Despair with the Neo World Program {NWP}, she’s immediately on board. They’re willing to do whatever it takes to help her best friends, the girl she loved & the rest of their classmates. Unfortunately after the events of SDR2, she & Makoto were charged with the crime of treason for protecting the Remnants. Hoshi does end up as a participant of the Final Killing Game alongside Makoto, the other FF branch heads & a member of her own branch Aoi Asahina.

That’s all I have to share with y’all for now. From here on out, I’ll probably share ideas/thoughts about Hoshi’s story on this blog. I’ll definitely put out a proper bio for them at some point too. Rpg Anon: just so you know ahead of time, some of these may sound like the total opposite of what you'd think their capabilities should be. But, just like in 13 sentinels, the characters can be like one of the daintier support sentinel types but refuse to have much of the support armaments and choose to have a brawler type playstyle similar to other sentinel types. I'm only having 4 each of the 4 sentinel types for each class for technical in-game reasons, totalling to 16 robots matching the number of students. The inclusion of Hajime to class 77 will create an exception to this quota.

Class 78:

1st Gens (Close Quarters brawlers): Sakura, Mondo, Mukuro, Toko/Syo

2nd Gens (All Rounder supports/summoners): Celes, Makoto, Hifumi, Junko

3rd Gens (Long Range shooters): Aoi, Leon, Sayaka, Taka

4th Gens: (Flying Utility supports): Chihiro, Hiro, Togami, Kyoko

*The first gens do have certain modes changes so maybe Toko can have a special one. Syo's basically a berserker anyway. Junko's only a 2nd gen cuz I wanted it to be ironic to Makoto. Besides, summoning support units is basically the same as summoned horses of enemies, so yeah. I'll just say Aoi, Sayaka, and Taka remind me of certain in game characters.*

Class 77:

1st Gens: Hajime, Akane, Chiaki, Peko, Nekomaru

2nd Gens: Sonia, Gundham, Mikan, Teruteru

3rd Gens: Fuyuhiko, Imposter, Mahiru, Ibuki

4th Gens: Nagito, Ryota, Hiyoko, Souda

*Hajime and Chiaki are 1st gens simply cuz I'm biased; 1st gens are op imo and wreck house. Nekomaru is the most tanky of all of them but probably the least offense-orientated. All the 2nd gens here are essentially summoners and healers, I don't need to say anymore. Souda wound be a 2nd gen but the mini-mechamaru army automatically makes him a 4th.*

V3:

1st: Gonta, Tenko, Maki, Rantaro

2nd: Miu, Angie, Tsumugi, Kurumi

3rd: Kaede, Himiko, Kiibo, Ryoma

4th: Shuichi, Kokichi, Korekiyo, Kaito

*First of all, I had to make Kaede and Shuichi as 3rd and 4th respectively cuz it fits and perfectly has at least one protag in each of the 4 sentinel types. Rantaro was process of elimination. Tsumugi is only 2nd to be like Junko. Kurumi can do anything. I let Kaito be as close to the stars as possible.*

UDG:

1st: Masaru, Kotoko

2nd: Monaca

3rd: Komaru, Jataro

4th: Nagisa

*Yes, there's no class here so I just gotta work with what I got and simplify things. Yes, I know they did in fact have their own mechas, so it makes things a bit easier but take it with a grain of salt.*

And unfortunately I'm not that keen on the other classes, sorry.

2019 vs. 2024 hot takes exactly 0 people asked for (now with opinions on the dr3 characters!)

and because im mentally ill im elaborating below the cut because at least i’m cognizant of how few people share this illness with me ❤️

first of all. some categories were edited (+added). we shall address them all in due time 🫶 but just for posterity before we begin: top of the category is the one that best exemplifies the category title and it moves in descending order; so as gonta is my #1 my GOAT, pedo udg guy is the one i want to kill himself most. understandable? ok 🫶

2019 top 5-tier is slightly unfortunately named but other than that changes in 2024 are somewhat minimal. as is perhaps obvious if you have seen even one (1) danganronpa post from me: gonta is My character hes mine spike chunsoft dont get him like i do. AND i love sdr2. nagito is my very very close second i am so incredibly mentally ill about him Oh if you all could see the hundreds of thousands of words ive written about that fucking guy. also true of hajime. still true of sonia (<3 i love u girlie) and fuyuhiko but to a lesser extent (i have written so much sdr2. its a problem. we persist). they are characters we see a lot of and in that same vein give SO much to build upon in further character exploration. and boy do i do that. holds the five of them In my arms i love you babygirls

S tier excellents again prove i am an sdr2 enjoyer. i think it also showcases how much i REALLY love the v3 characters while absolutely hating the plot they were stuck in. kaede and shuuichi are SOOOO special 2 me u dont understand…….im going to have so many thoughts and be So mad when i replay v3. kokichi is VERY interesting and my thoughts on him are endless (hi evan) and there is soooo much there even if i also have to fundamentally hate him somewhat because of 3-4. also a wide array of sdr2 characters are here of course……on my most recent replay i have come to really appreciate imposter (better sexier byakuya ❤️) and ibuki . and i was kind of surprised how high some of the dr1 characters are (besides chihiro who has consistently been my dr1 #1) but sorry dr3 made me love the makoto/kyouko/aoi trio sooooo bad.

lots of variety in the A tier which are all characters i enjoy, they just arent my Favorite barbie dolls to mash around u know. so many very unique personalities like mahiru, angie, tenko, and ryoma that weren’t explored as well as possible in canon, so its harder for me to personally invest in them. junko is iconic and she gets worse as the games go on but god. dr1 was craaaaaazy so she and mukuro have to be given props for that. im ignoring e-girl junko and v3 entirely <3 also again in watching dr3 while replaying sdr2 i really came to appreciate natsumi and her dynamic with hajime :[ rip girl i miss u. also also i liked koichi way more than expected LOL it must just be cuz hes hot but his death was sick as fuck and i liked his thruline with jin (the weird flirting with kyouko aside……)

B tier! bit of a mixed bag, from characters i like very begrudgingly (byakuya, sorry, i latched onto him as my rich terrible boyfriend when first playing years ago and the fondness kinda stuck 💔) to ones i do genuinely like, but they were not given much to do in canon (ryota) or their arcs fell flat (kirumi). also here are dr3 + udg characters i didnt mind or were just somewhat nice to makoto (also chisa, who is very interesting but i very much disliked how her character ended off) so shout out them (they are all dead) (or orphaned like monaca and kotoko).

C tier is basically my ‘i barely remember’ tier sry……i did not finish udg so i have so very few opinions on most of the characters. chihiro aoi and yasuhiro’s parents are chill tho shout out. not much to say tho

and now we enter the hater zone with D tier……look. some of these are hot takes and some arent. as much as i love sdr2 i just cannot ever make myself like hiyoko and teruteru. theyre kinda fucked from the getgo theyre never treated as especially serious characters but their glaring flaws are so bad i cant bring myself to care when the rest of the cast is SO GOOD. i also do not like kazuichi LMFAO as a sonia ride or die just as i cannot look past teruteru’s sexual harassment NEITHER CAN I LOOK PAST KAZUICHI’S ‼️‼️ yes i think he can be fixed but sonia needs a restraining order + when she was hoping he was the ch4 killer i was cheering. everyone else this category are just mid ass dr1 characters and the dr3 characters i found actively annoying. also monokuma. hes cringe but iconic and doesnt fit anywhere else

not much to be said about F tier. i did not finish udg but i know enough that i need haiji towa to die. i need the asshole who beat up hajime to die. i need the asshole who tried to kill makoto to die. i need that stupid old fuck heading the future foundation to die. the monokubs are fucking annoying. the only like Real characters here are 1) miu because she is written terribly and her cool talent is wasted, treats gonta like shit, isnt funny, is just nasty perv bait and her most meaningful contribution is to be fodder for the 2nd worse written case in the game. and as for NUMBER ONE WORST: tsumugi mostly just symbolizes my hatred for v3’s ending because outside of her role in 3-6 she has very little impact on the story before her reveal. also got my girlies kaede and rantarou killed God i hate the end of thisgame

and finally: oh my poor sweet bastards. why would they do this to you. these characters are either underutilized in a way that is DEVASTATING (izuru 💔) treated like shit as joke characters their potential is totally squandered by dogshit writing (everyone else — sdr2 you could have been so much better WHY!!!!!!). mikan and korekiyo’s motives are dogshit and make the ch3 double murder so much weaker. nekomaru and akane are played as jokes essentially their entire screentime and akane is especially egregious because shes a survivor among characters like FUYUHIKO!!! like SONIA!!! like HAJIME!!!!!!!!! AND YOU SQUANDER HER LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!! kaito suffers from really flip-floppy writing and he sucks a lot of the time Especially pre-localization but ive adopted him a little bit in writing him and i love my construction of him in my brain.

ok thats it. im so mentally ill. give me ur thoughts or do the tierlist urself. now pointy objects lockdown time 👍

DanganDJ Spoiler Info

In my first post, I gave Talents to the core 6 units, but I always had it in mind that some of the Talents that they started with weren't always the ones they finished with.

Kyoko is the Ult. Vocalist.

Esora is a Reserve Course. She was stripped of her Talent at the end of her first year due to a skirmish with the Togami Corporation to protect Rei and her family's honor, although the Togetsus never knew about it.

Ibuki started off as the Ult. Track and Field Runner, but during her time in Hope's Peak, she also became the Ult. Team Captain. Those parts of her memories were erased by the time she woke up in the D4 Killing Game.

And while Miiko is introduced as the Ult. Linguist, a later part of the story reveals that she is the Ult. Horror Enthusiast.

MORE SPOILERS

Another part of DR is Hope and Despair, so I wove that into D4 with the idea that during the Tragedy, Junko takes one member from every unit to be one of her Despairs.

Maho: Manipulated due to her insecurity of feeling useless compared to her unit mates, especially when looking at Talent. (Based off of plotlines in First Mix, and sort of All Mix).

Esora: Joined Junko to get revenge on Byakuya and reclaim her Talent. She worked with the Towa Conglomerate to build Monokumas and Monochios.

Saki: Traumatized after Junko separated her from her unit and made her think she witnessed Kaito’s death. Junko’s brain operation on Saki also messed with her Synesthesia and made her obsessed with finding new colors. Before Junko, she could use her Synesthesia to see the colors of people’s emotions through their singing. After Junko, any form of vocal noise would trigger her Synesthesia.

Rika: Manipulated due to her savior complex. Because she was the one that inspired this crossover, I consider her Junko’s favorite mastermind. They are both very impulsive after all.

Hiiro: Her Talent showed her that the only way to beat Junko was to join her first, so Hiiro put her love of mysteries to good use and did her best to be the perfect mastermind.

Haruna: Manipulated into thinking Kurumiiko killed Miyu, she went mad with grief and acquired an obsession for rule-following. She ordered the first execution and helped write the Killing Game rules.

Natually, Hope arises.

Rinku: (Does she need any explanation? LOL).

Yuka: Because of her connection to Mahiru, Sato, and Esora, she was also close to the Reserve Course and saw them as equal to Ultimate students.

Ibuki: She helped create the Future Foundation.

Rika: Even though she was a Despair, she acted as a Hope and was basically Rinku 2.0.

Aoi: Because everyone simps for her, in and out of universe.

Miiko: Because she wanted to be friends with everyone, and her true Talent of Horror Enthusiast gave her meta knowledge and made her genre-savvy, which was a huge threat to Junko.

After everyone is forced through the Killing Game, the Hopes change.

Rinku remains as her unit’s honorary Hope.

Shinobu becomes Peaky’s because she’s always trying to move forward, no matter who the Killing Game takes from her.

Towa becomes Photon’s because she remains supportive until the very end and is the only one able to talk Nozomi Kamakura into occasionally stepping down and allowing Noa Fukushima to take control of their shared body.

Saori, Marika, and Dalia are all deemed Ult. Hopes by Rika at the end of the game when she admits to them that she doesn’t want to be a Despair anymore because they showed her how good Hope could be.

Tsubaki becomes RONDO’s Hope as she, like Shinobu, vows to keep moving forward no matter who the Killing Game has already taken from her.

Miyu becomes Lyrilily’s as the embodiment of forgiveness balanced with justice.

OTHER SPOILERS

Rika’s REAL Talent is Arson (inspired by a running joke my friends and I have about Rika = fire) and she only hid behind the Volleyballer Talent to avoid suspicion.

She is also Masaru Damon’s big sister. Their parents divorced when Masaru was a toddler, one parent taking each child. They never saw one another again, and when Junko found out, she implied that Masaru was dead, and that was one of the things that pushed Rika to Despair (although they reunite after Junko is defeated). The other was thinking she failed Tsubaki when they were kids (storyline taken from D4).

I also made a D4 version of Izuru, which is Noa's alter ego Nozomi/Kiko (which means Hope). Her backstory is that even though Izuru was conceptualized first, Nozomi/Kiko was created first, as it was easier to operate on a student WITH a Talent than one without.

While Izuru became an emotionless, indecisive Despair, Nozomi becomes a Hope obsessed with protecting the Cute and purging the Ugly. While Izuru’s hair and eyes were black and red respectively, Nozomi’s were white and cyan.

And the reason Haruna thought Kurumiiko killed Miyu was because Haruna was becoming increasingly isolated, trying to use her Chairman Talent to stop the Tragedy. Her unit members were trying to keep her from burnout and eventually went to Kurumi’s big brother, Kokichi Oma (the white bird and the black horse). Miyu, Miiko, and Kurumi were the three female DICE members. Kokichi tricked Miiko into helping him hijack Kurumi’s prank to make it more horrific and realistic, making them all believe that Miyu was dead. Kokichi did this both as a way to get Haruna to see where her actions were leading them, and because he perceived her as a rival for Kurumi’s allegiance.

These are some useless notes, but I'm a casual detail observer at heart and read into things that may not be there.

This Reddit post lays out the positions of the characters in the class trials. Which is good, because there's no way I would be able to figure it out by staring at YouTube playthroughs.

Full post beneath the cut because there was a lot as I went through the layouts.

Trigger Happy Havoc

Makoto stood beside Sayaka's place, and he was the prime suspect at first. Had she succeeded in killing Leon, she would have been standing right beside the person she planned on framing.

Kiyotaka stood between Sayaka and Mukuro/Fake!Junko's spots. Both of them died in Chapter 1. Poor guy.

Reddit pointed out that Makoto was right across from Junko/Monokuma. Funni.

Byakuya stood next to Chihiro. He messed with Chihiro's murder scene. COINCIDENCE? Probably.

Celestia, Hifumi, and Kiyotaka are evenly spaced from each other, at least if you go from Celestia to Taka. That strikes me as interesting.

I still find it weird how both Yasuhiro and Aoi were standing next to Junko, and both of them survived. Were it not for the punishment, they could have smothered her in hair and muscles, right?

Kyoko stood between two perpetrators and was gonna be framed as one.

Leon and Celestia stood next to each other, and they were both killers. Their crimes were split up with Chapter 2, but still.

Kiyotaka and Mondo were evenly spaced and in similar positions in the circle. The same goes for Chihiro and Mondo.

Sayaka and Yasuhiro are across from each other, and Yasuhiro is the first victim in the demo, isn't he?

Goodbye Despair

I find it interesting how Teruteru and Peko's spots were right next to each other, and they were the first two killers.

Gundham is across from Nekomaru :(

Sonia and Akane are across from each other and they both survive.

Hajime was between Mahiru and Hiyoko, and they were very close, not to mention both die in adjacent chapters.

Kazuichi and Gundham's positions mirror each other, and they're both commonly shipped with Sonia. (By me. Mostly me.)

Hiyoko's position is a mirror of Mikan's. This is funny for obvious reasons but also because Hiyoko insulted Mikan INCESSANTLY during the trials.

Nagito is across from Kazuichi and Kazuichi was one of the two who "kidnapped" Nagito in Chapter 2. Must have been awkward to look him in the face after that.

Akane and Fuyuhiko are right next to each other, and they both survive. This is the only instance of survivors being adjacent to each other in the trials. [While Yasuhiro and Aoi were close, they were separated by one seat.]

Byakuya's seat and Teruteru's seat are at cardinal points of the circle. So are Hajime and Fuyuhiko's. Two of them die in Chapter 1, two of them survive till the end.

Mikan is across from Mahiru, and both were involved in the Twilight Syndrome Murder Case game. Mahiru was also nice to Mikan, compared to Hiyoko.

Killing Harmony

Shuichi being right next to Kaito will never not be adorable to me.

Like Hajime, Shuichi is across from Rantaro, the first victim.

Angie and Tenko are across from each other. Alas.

Korekiyo is right next to Angie. Hmm.

Kaede and Gonta are next to each other, and both were found guilty. Interestingly enough, the circumstances surrounding their crimes are unique. (Kaede not actually being the blackened; Gonta not remembering what he did in the virtual world.)

Shuichi and Maki are both at cardinal points of the circle. Kokichi is at another. While Shuichi and Maki survive, Kokichi does not. But he WAS around for most of the game.

Kirumi and Korekiyo's positions in the circle are similar. They were the killers of adjacent chapters.

Similarly, Kirumi is across from Kaede's spot. Their executions were in adjacent chapters.

Tenko is in a similar position as Himiko, whose position is a mirror of Angie's. This is interesting considering the tension among the three in Chapters 2 and 3 especially.

Miu being right next to K1-BO is really intriguing to me.

Can't believe it took me till down here to catch it, Ryoma is right next to Kirumi, who is his killer. I think this is the only instance of this (save for Korekiyo and Angie).

Himiko and Ryoma are the shortest members of the cast, and they're across from each other. Ryoma's "death" happened during Himiko's magic show, and she was the prime suspect for a while.

Kaede, K1-BO, Korekiyo, and Kirumi are across from each other/mirrors of each other, and all of their names start with "K" in English.

I retract the thing about Ryoma and Kirumi, because Tsumugi is next to Rantaro's place, and she was his real killer. Interestingly, he is in the spot Junko was in during Chapter 6 of THH, and he was thought to be the mastermind for 5 seconds. He was onto Tsumugi until Kaede and Shuichi's plan worked all too well.

Miu and Gonta's positions are mirrors of each other. Kokichi lies in between them. I hate these games.

Ryoma and Maki had each other's motive videos, if I remember correctly. And they're right next to each other. It was similar with Shuichi having Kaito's. In between those two pairs is Kirumi, who got her own motive video. The Monokubs said that was an accident, but IS IT?

That is all I cared to think more about/look into. I'm sure there is much, much more, but for now, that is all I have.

Random comment of the day:

Something that pisses me off about the LN is that Guren calls “beautiful” everyone (Mahiru, Shinoa, Sayuri, Mito, Aoi, Noya, Ferid, Mika, Mahiru, Mahiru, Mahiru) but not because he is actually mesmerised or it makes him feel things but rather as if it’s a fact, something objective. He is not even close with half of these people. So basically, it wouldn’t be gay to actually call Shinya “beautiful” right? I mean, it would be something objective. It’s not Guren like wants to do the devil’s tango with Ferid or Aoi but he still thinks they are beautiful. So WHY NOT SHINYA?? He is beautiful, it doesn’t automatically equate to 👉👌. Or what, he isn’t objectively beautiful??🤨

Salutations!!!

My name is Mod Celeste. This is my Danganronpa headcanon blog! Requests are open for the time being. I've been working on them as best I can, but there's quite a few, so it might take me a while to get to each one. Thank you for understanding!

Here is what's in my repertoire:

- X-readers, headcanons (general things as well), fluff

-Angst (depends on the subject at hand, just describe what you're after!)

-PG-13 type romance, flirting

-If you give me a relatively detailed description, I will do my best with it! But a few general details are fine.

-I'll write confessions, platonic headcanons, letters from characters, relationship hc's for you or your otp or anything of that nature!

-You can ask for three characters at once-- It's a bit overwhelming when there's more! But, feel free to ask for a part 2 with different characters for your request at a later date, if you'd like.

-I'm always open to try new ideas as well!

Things I will not write:

-I can't write smut or nsfw-- apologies, it just makes me uncomfortable. This includes fetishes as well.

-Pregame v3 characters. Because there is so little to go off of, it would be complete fanon and I do not want to just make something up!

-Ot3's or poly ships: I have no experience with these, so I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to write them well.

-Toxic or abusive ships

-Age regression

-If it's something VERY close to a similar request I've received, I may not write it in order to prevent redundancy.

-Topics that may trigger fellow readers or myself (ask if you are unsure, and I'll let you know if I can write it or not!), if it is something I feel I can write, I will-- but I'll add a disclaimer for others :)
