the only asks i could find that mention this explicitly are from 2020, so i don't know how much water they still hold, but i think a lot about how one of the inspirations for wally's character writing back when clown first picked welcome home back up was dr. habit from smile for me. obviously no telling for certain how that influence will manifest in future updates, but i think it's Very Interesting, given how both characters seem kinda Obsessed with fulfilling the image of some fictional archetype (i.e. habit trying his damnedest to embody the idea of a cartoon supervillain to subconsciously justify his own self-loathing and [at least in one ending] suicidal ideation VS wally being So devoted to his role as an audience surrogate that even now, nearly 50 years after the show has ended, he insists on being our guide as we try to unravel whatever the fuck happened here.

So now's as good a time as any to talk about how much I love my Big Daddy plush and how he's been altered to be different and weighted!

I couldn't stop myself from taking creative liberty to make him more unique than others by surgically implanting two large beanbags inside of him, plus some stuffing from other stuffed things to puff him up where he got flat from me resting my head on him. The bean bags were decently large:

On top of that, I did a practice craft of hand-drawing my own art to turn into the hanging things that I tend to make:

So now I have a weighted and well-stuffed bouncer plush and a nifty little hanging decoration of one!

Bonus: his surgical scars and one of the four(?) miscellaneous fallen toys that contributed to his inner mass:

My Mr. Bubbles is now legitimately a weighted grafted monster and I LOVE him.

Rutilated- 3.7k, taking place between chapters 14-15, slight focus on events in chapters 10-11. Insomnia from stress turned awkward flirting turned emotional comforting.

Intergrowth- A series of 6 drabbles totaling 2.5k that take place from chapter 7 through post-game in sporadic leaps. Covers a broad spectrum of crushing angst to fluff, arranged chronologically kind of like an outline of the relationship on the side of the main plot, built around the idea of moments where they held hands

Thanatophobia- 1.3k, post-game. Alear has a nightmare because (kiragi vc) war is heck! especially when you’re dragon jesus and go through protagonist bullshit that people somehow expect you to be just Okay With.
