I’ve been watching more of the iCarly revival and realized that I don’t ship Seddie and Lucaya (from Girl Meets World) for the same reason: the female in the ship (Sam and Maya) are too abusive towards the male (Lucas and Freddie) for my comfort. In the original iCarly series, Sam was physically abusive towards Freddie constantly. In Girl Meets World, Maya constantly put down and demeaned Lucas. Whereas Carly and Riley actually like Freddie and Lucas for who they were.

s/eddie shippers seething because their toxic and abusive ship isn't canon are so embarassing to me because you're telling me that you're an adult and you still see nothing wrong about that violent relationship and how awful and toxic of a character Sam was to the point that even her own freaking actress dislikes her.

is it just me or does Dan Schneider like to normalize abusive and toxic relationships over the healthier ones?

Maybe I'm just cynical because I've seen a lot of crap. But people who say Adrien and Marinette are toxic make no sense to me.

The two of them clearly adore eachother. Yes Marinette clearly wants him in a physical way, but it's not like that's all she sees. Adrien admits nobody understands him like Marinette does. She's improved his life in so many ways. And she always makes him laugh.

I mean, I remember watching Icarly as a kid. One of the most popular ships was Sam and Freddie, that was actually Canon for a bit.

And Sam is horrifically abusive to Freddie. Constantly bullying him, putting him down verbally, threatening him with violence, assaulting him with a tennis racket! And exposing secrets he confesed to Carly live on air.

If a teenage girl being a bit ott with her affections or a teenage boy not knowing how to express his feelings properly is the worst thing you've seen, I envy you.

I forgot that ICarly became a thing again and that Creddie became a thing (again but not really) and now the actors say they love it even though he (Nathan) did say that if he were Freddie he wouldn't choose either girl because both relationships are toxic

I don't think I'll ever forgive the iCarly reboot for making Creddie canon again. I've said it before and I'll say it a million times more: You don't date your best friends ex and you don't date your ex's best friend. Sam herself said that Freddie was the only guy she's ever loved. Sam asked Freddie to have dinner with her after he got out of the hospital in Sam & Cat.

Now, idk, I haven't watched since the Webicon episode, maybe Carly called Sam and asked for her blessing first. But in what world would Sam ever be genuinely happy with her ex boyfriend dating her best friend, the girl he had a crush on forever but seemingly got over. Carly had her chance to go after Freddie between iSaved Your Life and iOMG, and she didn't. Freddie could've told her if he still had feelings for Carly, and he didn't.

I get it. Jeanette is never, ever coming back to iCarly and Seddie would never happen onscreen again. Totally fine. But that doesn't mean her character is erased. Freddie is allowed and encouraged to move on, BUT NOT WITH CARLY. Any other person in the world would be fine, but not Sam's best friend since second grade.

I’ve never been that much into shipping like literally I’m one of the most boring and logical people ever and when I watch most shows I just care about the plot and don’t rlly give a fuck when it’s soiled with a bunch of corny romances (except if it’s actually interesting and the two people have an entertaining dynamic that adds to the story and gives conflict and shit). This is exactly how the last few seasons of Regular Show were ruined bc it was all about relationships (even tho I love Rigby & Eileen together ngl LOL), as well as iCarly like the whole fucking Creddie vs Seddie war ruined the show, I doubt Freddie was supposed to end up with anyone but it’s like the writers felt pressured to put in that dumbass Seddie storyline bc shippers were obsessed. So I understand why people don’t care for Kyman or any South Park ship and just wanna watch the show, I mean I was like this too I used to not give a fuck and found the South Park shippers annoying. I only liked Stendy bc it was canon, and then Kyman grew on me over time, and I started to like Creek when it became canon too, but every other ship in the fandom is mostly trash imo LOL. But srsly ya’ll are dumb as hell for not seeing that there’s clearly something going on between Cartman & Kyle at this point, especially after Kyle went ballistic after seeing Cartman with someone else TWICE….I’m like bruh how can anyone interpret this as anything other than jealousy. DHSJJS I’m sure you could totally make a case to argue how Kyman isn’t gonna actually happen, bc I agree on some level like South Park is just a comedy, so I feel like a lot of it is all just Matt & Trey trolling everyone and putting in these subliminal messages that don’t amount to anything. And yeah one can also argue that Kyman will never happen bc Cartman & Kyle are both too stubborn to ever admit they care for one another. But I mean I feel like there’s NO WAY at this point that these Kyman moments we keep getting are just fans reading too much into things, I’m sure Matt & Trey know damn well what they’re doing and they’re putting this shit in on purpose as fan service to imply that Cartman & Kyle like each other bc they know so many people ship Kyman. So yeah will Kyman ever actually become canon or happen? Honestly I don’t know, it’s so hard to tell. But I mean Creek happened so it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility and Matt & Trey are always doing unpredictable things and trolling people. I really don’t wanna say that Kyman is for sure gonna happen, but I feel like I can’t completely say it’s not possible either bc I may be wrong either way LOL. But I know for a fact there is tension and subliminal messaging going on and these annoying ass anti-kymans are just gaslighting everyone for pointing out what we can clearly see. If we’re anti-semitic for seeing what’s going on between Cartman & Kyle then I guess Matt & Trey must be anti-semites too bc they’re the ones doing this shit and putting it in the show, not us. Miranda (and Nathan, too) was incredibly diplomatic with s/eddie shippers because we all know it wouldn't have been a good ending for Freddie or the show. The relationship between him and Sam was abusive and toxic and Freddie deserves better than that.

It’s probably not that deep but the fact that Seddie shippers make excuses for Sam’s physical violence and abuse towards Freddie and act like that shit was romantic makes me terrified if these people are in relationships. So is that how y’all treat your partners? Y’all verbally and physically abuse your significant others?
