I want to share a couple things that have really helped me complete my art projects in the past couple years. Every day I have new ideas and am pulled in a million different directions. I’ve been very bad at actually completing projects and sticking with certain long term goals in the past. Now I am gradually getting better at it with the help of a planner and to do lists!

When I bought a planner a couple years ago, I hadn’t had a planner since grade school. I use it to plan out weekly small business tasks like art creation, product photos, motivation buddy check ins, order packing and social media posts. I made sure to find one that I really like so I’d look forward to using it and it looks real cute sitting on my desk.

My current to do list app of choice is called Habitica, which is a gamified version. While my planner is dedicated to business, Habitica I use for reminders for anything at all. Adulting is hard, if I have to do it I might as well get pretend money and victory fanfare any time I do it! Completed business task - reward! ✨ Exercised today - reward! ✨ Remembered to brush teeth twice today AND floss - reward! ✨ None of these things keep me productive 100% of the time. Sometimes I just fall off, get tired or have an emotional low, but I think I’m making more progress than I would have without them. They help me remember when there are more things to keep track of than I could ever keep in my head. I keep getting back up and continuing to try.
