Canonically, Julia tried to end her life.

I'm surprised because i haven't seen someone talking about this. But in chapter 2, when Andrew hears Ashley's voicemails, it's mentioned that Julia tried to commit suicide:

(...) go slit your wrist some more! and this time do it proper!

- Ashley

However, there's some debate if the dream's voicemails really happened or if they're only Andrew's subconscious thoughts adapted to sound like something Ashley could say.

Also, even if the audios are real and Andrew's only remembering things he heard before (what only proves that he knew Ashley was herrasing Julia and did nothing), Ashley could be lying about Julia's self-harm behaviors.

But I don't think so, Ashley has zero reasons to lie about it, she's not trying to deceive someone or convince Andrew to leave Julia. Her intention it's clearly to do as much harm as she can, and she's using the truth to achieve said purpose.

And if the audios are just an invention of Andrew's mind, it only means he knew (or at least strongly suspected) that his girlfriend got such problems.

And, of course, his better advice was probably just to tie her hair up.

the thing about being into malevolent and then also being into dead plate is the realization that while dead plate is A Cannibalism Story, if you're counting by actual amount of human meat consumed, it has significantly less actual cannibalism than malevolent, which is not A Cannibalism Story. so the question is what level of importance to the story cannibalism has to have before a story can be A Cannibalism Story. the other question is why do i keep getting into media with cannibalism
