was looking at some wiki pages, and saw it noted that season one wouldve only had 2 episodes. and. that made me think about how, if THATS how one was presented, if those two had been given episodes on their own? as an object show, without any other context? i think thatd like. legitimately be extremely horrifying
(put under a readmore bc it IS a bit lengthy. notes are ALSO a bit lengthy bc i am talkative)
like, airy is already a terrible host, but hed be even LESS good at it than in the actual series. the plane in season one doesnt seem to even have the grass blades, so i imagine theres no trees anywhere, either (geographic details and weather, stuff along those lines, seem to have been hard to figure out, given that he seems excited to add the clouds, and likely wouldve added them already if hed already known how to make them), which, with the added realism to the characters, would probably be far more uncanny (assuming theres also a stinger showing one-two of the contestants Actual life). it doesnt stand out much in terms of object shows, of course, but if presented with the reality of how empty it is, and how odd it is compared to real environments? i think that it wouldnt seem Right
nobody would know why theyre there, and probably wouldnt want to be there. at the very least, airy had concepts and lines to tell the contestants in the series. judging by what he says in ep 17, though, they didnt get this. there is even less clarity. add to that that julien is likely Extremely Confused And Alarmed, the others would probably be more inclined to share that stress. there would be.. a Lot less clarity, and a lot more unease among the contestants. add to that, that based on what oscar says, airy kept almost accidentally killing them. without any reassurance that theyll be brought back
by the end of the first episode, nobody is dead, of course. but its unlikely that anyone is especially happy with the situation theyre in (even if airy brought up a prize, he wouldnt be reassuring, and there is far more risk than there was for the actual series’ contestants, so even a contestant who wants to compete would probably not feel especially safe). i cant imagine what a post credits scene would involve, but it probably wouldnt change much in terms of tone
the second episode would certainly start out normally. oscar would go home, cool. no new contestants are introduced, so airy starts the challenge. and then they all die. and the episode ends (there COULD be a post credits scene, but i dont imagine it could be reasurring)
and that would simply be the end of it.

FTWDs final season could have been so much better if it was revealed that Troy was running padre and controlling madison (as revenge) this whole time. He knew enough about nick and Alicia to make madison think padre knew who and where they were this whole time. And here are some other reasons how this storyline would make sense and be more interesting:
- Troy has a military background so him taking over and running a military base makes more sense than two teenagers building it up by themselves because all the adults died.
- taking and training up children to be solidiers also would make a little sense because of his own fucked up upbringing and the idea he has of the type of people who were made for this world. He would have probably had the same idea as shrike, that the kids stood a better chance at padre than with their “weak” parents. The mother of his child dying for being a good person and not getting to raise their daughter (who would not be named after his abuser) could have also played into this idea of the kids being separated from their good parents.
- shrikes radiation cure experiments: Troy ran walker bite experiments before, just to see how people would turn. So it would also make sense if the work we see shrike doing was something he approved of or an idea he himself came up with. As for shrike, it would make sense that she turned out this way if she’d spent years being mentored by someone like troy otto instead of becoming evil and stealing children just because her dad died.
- the scene where madison smashes the glass to expose “padre” would have been such a good and shocking reveal if it was Troy. Imagine Madison finding out that Troy is not only alive but had been the one running this the whole time!
There’s also a lot of other things I would have done differently for the other characters too and I would have liked Madison to have a little villain era and do some really fucked up shit as she tries to take down Troy and padre. How dark would Madison go? Would she survive with her humanity still intact?
I know I’m just talking into the void here because no one care about this shitshow but I just hate it when shows have a plot that could have been good, maybe even great but then completely miss the mark and fans come with better theories and ideas with minimal effort and thought.

ppl expecting caryl to happen and getting annoyed and being like 'you dangled this in front of us for 12 yrs' is very funny to me bc there's never really been anything to suggest more than friendship like, they are just the definition of best friends.
and there's no way the show suddenly changing its mind in the last ep and being like 'jk their feelings are actually romantic' woulda been satisfying
it would've been a lot like daryl being uninterested in romance only for them to have a shitty love interest appear in a random episode ten seasons in (@ leah), just unearned as fuck. and they wouldn't have been able to do caryl any justice

as much as i hate “ it was all a dream “ storylines.. i still desperately wish volume 2 ended with el still being trapped within max’s mind. that vecna had concocted this perfect little dream world for her.
el looking out the window and seeing the ashes, the snow, the upside down fallout, whatever it’s called- going outside and seeing all the smoke and red lightning. turning around as everything starts to melt back into the snoball. everyone around her smiling like everything is still Fine.
and the clock’s distorted chiming begins.
eddie’s death being pushed to the side would make sense. vecna using el’s memories- she doesn’t know who eddie is. she never Met Him. thats why no one really grieved over his death.
that’s why el and hopper’s reunion felt... lackluster? why vecna suddenly disappearing felt... not ominous just... odd. everything about the latter half of episode 8 felt so off.
and it couldve been el trapped within her own mind. realizing that she didn’t save max at all. as everything splits and all hell breaks lose.

as someone who only really ships the idea and the chemistry of calzona, and really really really should know better, is there anyone that ships them that isn't overly indulgent towards arizona and doesn't seem to blame callie for not bringing the moon down for her or something, even at her own expense, especially at her own expense?

Literally grieving because the website that has all the MotoGP videos (the one I have been downloading old races with commentaries in Czech or Russian) change the policy of the site due to the new European DSA legislation or whatever it is and acts like a private Google drive where you can only view your own stuff and cannot publicly share it. Now I'm left stranded and need to start searching all over again 😕

ok final thoughts on sex ed s4 bc i have. mixed feelings
spoilers
started off boring af im sorry. like what was that
otis was such a dick this season sorry
i did really like all of the disability rep and the protest !!!!! i love aisha she was so sweet....
isaac and aimee was sort of out of nowhere but i dig it
missed lily and ola so much
the otis and maeve ending was bittersweet and nearly made me cry but i get it. they weren't exactly right for each other
roman was fucking adorable omg
I Love Cal. we should've seen more of them.
really mad about the lack of resolution between jackson and cal....they could've done more there i think
should've been more viv instead of her entire arc being centered around beau but whatever
adam my love......
joy is so cute!
my main issue with this season was that it just... lost its way, i think. the new characters were great but it just didn't feel like the same show at all, not bc of them but bc of the new setting and the actions of all of the other characters. it just. didn't make sense a lot of the time. i honestly think their cast was just too big and it didn't give them enough time to flesh out every character's story. like. i think the only arc i really liked was eric's, even with the supernatural elements.
idk. the season had some really good points, but it felt off somehow, and i feel like they could've done more

So here's my conflict. On the one hand, I agree that s12 wouldve been much more interesting if theyd gone with the original idea of having Libber act as a living battery for the game. It would have facilitated more emotional motivation for Jay, as well as a greater sense of thematic cohesion and parallel between him and Unagami. Plus, it would be cool to finally see what happened to Libber.
On the other hand, I feel like Jay never finding out why he was abandoned and learning to heal and move past it anyway has some understated potential to create a really interesting narrative. Like, Jay's whole thing is that he's insecure and worried that people will leave him. So I feel like sure, yeah, itd be cathartic for him to find closure knowing his parents had a good reason for abandoning him. BUT, I think it would be more compelling if Jay's arc featured him accepting that yes, sometimes people just leave you. You might never know why, and you might never get the chance to find out. Sometimes things happen and you never get proper closure. But it's still possible for you to move forward and find happiness in spite of that. Jay finding his mom and learning that she didnt abandon him intentionally is a satisfying story, but an easy one. Whereas Jay learning to accept that his mom is gone and he'll never know why is a much more nuanced one, in my opinion. (I just wish s12 had actually given it the proper development it needed)
Idk. I agree that the Libber plotline couldve added a lot more depth to Prime Empire overall, but I also feel like they could have very easily given that season depth even without her being there.

in like the very first episode or two of season 2 freddie said in character, and i quote: "i will go on youtube and look at how to draw anime eyes really good. i will create a deviantart," which just completely convinced me of what i already knew: taylor would be one of those weeb art kids who would have ocs. ABSO FUCKIN LUTELY
additionally i think scary wouldve already been into drawing but taylor wouldve been the one to get her actually into the oc art sphere and she wouldve made one too. and i think scarys sona would be one of those super dark edgy moonwolves with big wings, highlights in their hair, and wrist warmers. real angel with a shotgun nightcore version core. thank you for your time
anyway taylor and scarys dynamic isnt talked about enough im obsessed with it. best friends/spouses who would kinda actually stab eachother still maybe
(extra doodle under the cut)
scarys username on da is like bloodmoonweaver205 or d4rkest_45 or something and i know im right. taylors da is like 80% his own manga that hes drawing in his school notebooks about himself in class (adhd king ✊️) but theres also some anime fanart and other ocs

okay, listen. the scene where emily is getting ready to go out and meet viper and hotch comes in to check on her is so....out of character for him?
like, if it would've been jj or even penelope (honestly, probably even jordan) i'd completely understand him wanting to check in, but with them, he wouldve absolutely waited for them to come out of the locker room before asking if they were okay doing this. or at least made sure before they even started getting ready. at this point theyve used emily for her looks before, its nothing new for her.
but hotch comes in whiiiiiile she is getting dressed!! and his whole "hotch demeanor" is dropped especially in his little "oh" when she tells him she's dated people worse than viper. its not hotch coming to check on prentiss, its aaron coming to check on emily.
but what really gets me is....yeah okay he came into the locker room instead of waiting, but he awkwardly pauses instead of just being like "okay, ill see you when youre ready" or whatever after he's made sure she was okay doing this. im pretty sure the only reason she asked him about jordan is bc he didnt leave right away, he just....lingered fjdkjfdskfjds
the comfortableness between them in this scene makes me want to SCREAM and i wholeheartedly believe the writers were working their way into something with them but then paget got fired and when she was able to come back, knew right away that she wasnt staying longer than season 7. and then of course thomas got fired and they only brought paget back so that emily could take hotch's position,(WHICH HE SPECIFICIALLY REQUESTED MIGHT I ADD!!!!) so having them get together wouldnt have worked. (instead they had him date a knock off version of her - fjdskfjds im kidding i actually really liked beth)
anyway, i'm fine everything is fine

here's a very unpopular opinion that i would probably get bashed at for bc my hands are literally not capable of arting rn:
----
season 12 was irrelevant to the rest of the seasons.
literally, just remove it and you'd still understand what's happening (excluding the fact lloyd mentioned they got cubed at the start of season 13)
i don't see any use to it at all except giving us jaya content, don't get me wrong im actually a big jaya shipper but it literally has no other purpose than that
if the writers had went with the old concept ive heard of, where we see jay's mother holding a baby jay and running from who knows what, the season wouldve been much more relevant and would've given us some idea on who jay's mother ACTUALLY is and why she left him. it was a chance they didnt take, which resulted in us still not being sure if libber is actually his mom or not. and we might actually never know anymore since dragons rising is now out
its honestly really frustrating, of course im not saying the season was that bad but if i had to choose between watching season 11 or season 12, i'd choose season 11 even if season 11 is hated by the fandom from what ive seen. and that really says something, since im not too fond of season 11 either. i just dont like how they had the opportunity to give jay some more development instead of being just "the idiotic one" and didnt take it.
but hey, atleast we got superstar rockin' jay, right?
