last year i did a bewildering amount of self revelation & i think i could sum up the theme as being Learning That I Am Not Normal
and THIS year is sort of a continuation of that, i think: ive been making a concerted effort to do things that make me happy when they occur to me and it seems every time i get weirder i get significantly happier, so the the revelatory theme this year appears to be Getting Unnormaler

ye im down to do req and this had me going completely ott cos its v cute (and a lot less angsty than what ive written recently aha) so apologies for my ramblings:
Summary: tom has the kids for a day and maths homework throws a spanner in the works - tomhollandxreader
implied smut + v slight reference to porn but basically just fluff I promise xox
\\\\\\\\\\\\///////////
Tom had dealt with a lot of whining today. Nova and Leo were the absolute joys of his life, there was no doubt about it. Of course, he also loved you a hell of a lot too - sometimes to his detriment though, hence the position he was in now.
You’d had a busy week at work and he had been away for the first half of it - leaving you as an almost single mother to a 5 and a 7 year old. So completely fairly, you’d asked if he wouldn’t mind watching the kids for a the day on Sunday, allowing you to go to a friends baby shower. There was no answer but to agree, Tom loved quality time with the kids and he wanted you to kick back and relax with you friends too.
However the afternoon had not been nearly as idealistic as it were supposed to be in his head. You had left him only one real job (apart from the unavoidable essentials of keeping the kids alive with food and water, something you’d hope he need not be reminded about now). Really it shouldn’t of been that hard, it was just each kid had two pieces of homework. After convincing and cajoling the kids into sitting at the table which he’d already set up with Nova’s ‘Liverpool FC’ and Leo’s ‘captain marvels’ pencil case, the English was easy.
In fact 5 year old Leo took great joy out of writing a poem with his Dad, which basically involved trying to rhyme any word with another - especially when he tried to convince Tom that all his completely fictitious words were real and worked together. A personal favourite had been ‘snakes’ and ‘palakes’ which Leo was convinced meant pancakes - arguing so vehemently Tom almost started to doubt himself on basic English.
Thankfully though his eldest and most sensibly child eventually took him out his misery. If anyone had any control over the Holland boys, Leo and Tom - it was the Holland girls. You and Nova had both boys completely under you spell, often taking advantage of the fact too. It was only when Nova got bored of hearing Tom and Leo mock arguing, interspersed with the little boys giggles that Tom tried his absolute hardest to keep a straight face at, that she swooped in.
“Stop being silly Leo, mummy told you he’s not good at school!” She looked oh so innocent, eyes immediately flicking down to continue the little short story she was happily going on with. In response  Tom scowled, knowing your highly curious and intelligent daughter had asked you (for one reason or another) why he was not so academic. Yet instead of Leo bursting out laughing, instead he just nodded and accepted it too - making Tom scowl even more. Not even Leo thought it was a joke.
So apart from his children apparently taking pity on his simple mind, it was all going smoothly. Perhaps, due to the thankful fact your children had inherited their brains from their mother - something Tom was forever thankful for, until he was shamed for his substandard intellect in the family. Then again though, he was Spiderman. So take that.
Until Nova brought out her maths sheet. Then the afternoon quickly descended into chaos. It was fractions, something she hadn’t quite grasped from school yet - a concept that still hurt her head somewhat. Normally though it’d be fine, she’d bring the sheet to you and the two of you used ‘ girl power’ to figure it out… you prior experience as a tutor while in uni helping you know how to break through to her.
Unfortunately Tom didn’t share this same experience. Nor did Tom share a maths qualification… something that had evaded him completely during his schooling career. Of course, it had never been a particular issue, acting didn’t require the use of maths and algebra and Tom was in a very lucky position of being able to pay someone to manage his finances from a very young age. So no, dividing 2/3 and 3/7 didn’t come the most naturally to him. Or at all to be quite honest.
“I CANT DO IT AND GRACE IN MY CLASS COULD!” For context, Grace was one of her school friends, who forever liked to compare herself to the young Holland - especially because she was normally ahead. Nova had gone from quiet frustration, staring at the questions with her tongue sticking out slightly, to one of pure rage - yelling at her dad with tears in her eyes. Nova was normally incredibly intuitive, she always found it difficult when she couldn’t do something. Now, with a ‘teacher’ who was more useless than her - the frustrations inevitably bubbled over.
“Hey, we can work it out, just calm-“
“YOU CANT DO IT EITHER YOUR STUPID “ She was just young and frustrated, Tom tried not to take it personally but … it wasn’t always easy. Chiefly because this was the height of offensive statement Nova knew - this was her version of adult explicit language.
“Nova you can’t be rude.” He used his stern voice, something Tom very rarely used with his little girl. Though he never wanted to upset her, neither did he want her to think it was ever okay to be so rude to anyone like that- no matter how crappy at maths they were. It hurt him to do so but it was necessary - life lessons about the importance of being kind needed to be learnt. And it worked… if what Tom was aiming for was his beautiful baby girl’s eyes to brim with sparkling tears, her bottom lip quivering slightly.
Instantly Tom’s eyebrows drooped, trying to fight his natural reaction to scoop her onto his knee and reassure her everything was okay. But as you had lectured him many a time before, he had to put his foot down once in a while. So instead, the father and daughter were locked in a silence and intense eye contact, until Nova hesitantly began to speak.
“I’m sorry Daddy.” During which, Nova shoved her chair back, making it screech against the tiled floors uglily before running off up the stairs. Tom knew she was crying a lot. Knew this was going to take a bit of fixing.
With a sigh of his daughters name, Tom popped his head into the living to check on Leo who had already finished all his stuff. Seeing him completely zombified in front of ‘paw patrol’ on TV, Tom trudged up the stairs. He knew where she was, when Nova was upset she always hid in the corner of her wardrobe and cried in the darkness. So after steadying himself with a little internal monologue of how to approach the situation Tom walked in and sat down beside the wardrobe - knocking on the door slightly.
“Nova… can we talk please?” All he heard was sniffing echoing from the wooden chamber until she tried to shout through the door.
“Go-go… go away daddy.” It broke his heart, the way her voice wavered, making Tom pout - gently letting his head fall against the wardrobe doors.
“I don’t want you to be upset beautiful…. And you did apologise which I appreciate. You know why Daddy got angry right?” Her sniffles heightened before she muttered a quiet ‘yes’. “And you are sorry? Because that might’ve made me really sad too.”
“I’m s-s-sorry, I didn’t mean it.”
“Then that’s good and we don’t need to cry. You want a cuddle little one?” Before Tom could even properly get up the door was being pushed open by her little hands, revealing a tear stained face and big glassy eyes looking up at her Dad. Swiftly Tom scooped her up and out of the cupboard, whispering to her while she buried her face in his chest.
“Oh come here my little bean.”
//////////////////////
When you came home late that evening, only mildly exhausted from spending the whole day gossiping with your girls, it was weirdly quiet. All the lights were out in the front room, which made you close the door gently, thinking Tom had managed to exhaust the kids - and himself in the process. With a relieved sigh at the peace you pattered into the kitchen to get yourself a drink (it had been a little concern that Tom would’ve worked the kids into a hyperactive and delerious state that kept them up long past bedtime - which ultimately you’d have to deal with). The house was remarkably silent and though it was clear from the littered toys everywhere that it had indeed been Tom alone in charge, everything seemed pretty okay.
It was only as you were about to head upstairs to join your hubby in bed that you realised the study light was still on, streaming through the small crack in the doorframe. Assuming Tom had just neglected to turn it off, in otherwords Tom being Tom, you nudged it open with your hand. Surprisingly though, there was your husband, hunched over the desk, looking almost angrily focused - between the computer screen and a piece of paper below him. Normally you would’ve just assumed it was another script sent over or an edit Harry had sent of another screenplay they were writing together.
But no, the blatant red flag was the screen that you could see. A screen on YouTube, of a man pointing at a whiteboard of fractions.
So with a soft wrist you wrapped your knuckled on the side of the door, even if you had technically already entered the room. The reaction had you stifling a laugh, it was as if you’d caught him watching something *less PG* the way he jumped out his seat, closing the browser immediately.
“Love!! I -er … didn’t know you’d got back?”
“I just did.” You smiled gently, while walking into stand behind his chair, wrapping your arms round his neck and pressing a kiss to his jaw. “Soooo…. what’ca doingggg” The glee in your voice was evident, making Tom groan and shut his eyes.
“I hate you, you know that right?”
“No you don’t… but you were watching a primary school video on fractions, if I’m not so mistaken?” He sighed deeply, making a point of turning the paper with his scribbles over to obscure it.
“Nova’s homework.. she couldn’t do it and neither could I, so then she basically screamed at me for being thick and udseless and then had a breakdown.”
Now you felt guilty. This was a bit of a sore spot with Tom, he always for some reason felt inferior because of his academic ability. Which was stupid- mainly because he was the most clever and talented man you’d ever met. Just…. Just not at fraction.
“Oh T… you could’ve just left it for me to do with her, I don’t mind.”
“That’s not the point Y/n.” He snapped a little, shrugging your arms off him and spinning in the chair so he could face you. “She’s my daughter and I should be able to help her! It’s not like it’s that hard, it’s just I’m unbelievable thick.”
“Tom stop. Look - you can do this I assure you, it’s just been a long old time ‘kay? Your rusty and that’s only natural.”
“I really don’t think I could ev-“
“Can I teach you? It’s just the method and then I promise you’ll get it.”
It took a bit of persuasion but eventually Tom agreed, letting you pull the corner chair forward to beside his desk so you could demonstrate it to him. To be fair, he really could do it- just a bit of familiarising on the ‘stick-change-flip’ method. The way the lightbulb moment literally caused his face to light up; scurrying to do the question for himself, tongue sticking out in the process; then presenting it to you proudly - well it had you melting in your seat.
“See! That took all of 5 minutes and you got it.” You elbowed  his side by leaning forward in the chair, which instead of letting go, Tom reached and caught, before pulling you up and round. You landed with you bum perched on the edge of the mahogany desk, Tom now stood up- his legs in-between your parted thighs - your feet hooking round the back of knees.
“It’s all down to my incredibly talented teacher.”
“No…. No I really don’t think it is” You mused with a soft voice, fingers instinctively going to the nape of his neck - twirling the little curls round your fingertips.
“Well even so… I think I could teach you a thing or two too.” Never one to mull on anything, Tom’s tone had immediately switched to something a lot more… mischievous.
“Not even going to ask about my day? Wheres the chat mr smooth?” He had to repress the grin at your smirk because as much as you infuriated the hell out of him - you also had this weird ability of making him feel so entranced and helpless. He relented with a sarcastic chime.
“Fine, how was your day love.”
“Good…. but I have a feeling you’re about to make it a whole lot better.”
That was all the signals he needed to lean forward, in doing so forcing you back until your back landed completely on the cool wood. His lips feathered yours, both hands pinned either side of your head.
“Oh darling… you have no idea.”

Outer Space Secrets Part 2
Summary: Logan and Virgil are helped to escape the alien ship
TW: arguing, shrinking, panic attack, crying, u!patton
——————————————————————————————————
?/?/2020 ??:??
Logan woke up abruptly, the glass next to him was being rapidly hit by Virgil, who seemed to be in the middle of a panic attack, his state was enough to wake Logan up completely “Virgil, hey Virge, I need you to breath okay?” He said, resting his hand on the glass “You remember the pattern?” Virgil nodded and Logan started to count for him, his boyfriend followed and slowly managed to calm down “V what happened?”
Virgil took some other deep breaths before answering “I-I... I t-think I’m s-shrinking...”
Logan was surprised, he clearly wasn’t expecting that “What? Virgil but that-“
“R-remember how y-yesterday I looked s-shorter?” He asked, interrupting Logan and continued when his boyfriend nodded “I w-woke up and...” he sniffed and cleaned some of his remaining tears, before extending his arm, his hoodie had always been a bit larger, enough to cover half of Virgil’s hand, but now, there was a part of the sleeve that dangled past his hand, way too larger than before “T-The sleeve is not the only thing, all my clothing seems to be l-larger... I s-started to panic after I realized”
Logan looked up and down his boyfriend’s body, his pants did look larger and his clothes baggier, but it was hard to see it while he was sitting “do you think you can stand?”
Virgil nodded and slowly stood up, leaning in the glass for extra support, he looked up at Logan, who stood up way faster than Virgil did, looked up, he had to look up at his boyfriend, who was usually shorter than him, Virgil felt his anxiety rising once more, he almost fell to the floor, leaning on the glass to keep him up instead.
“Virgil” Logan kneeled to be under Virgil’s eye level “Listen to me, please, I know this is scary, but you are not alone in this, I’m here with you, we’ll figure out whatever that’s happening here and whatever that’s happening to you, and we will fix it, I promise”
Virgil opened his eyes and looked at Logan between tears, forcing a small smile out “I-If I knew I w-was going t-to be stuck in an a-alien ship with someone, I’m glad it’s you Lo...” they looked at each other for a couple of seconds, Virgil raised an eyebrow once he noticed something strange “your... your ears”
“My ears? What are you talking about?” Virgil stood up properly and Logan did the same.
“They are... they are pointy” Logan grabbed his ears between his fingers, feeling them and confirming what Virgil said, they were no longer rounded, and just then, the lights turned on, and the little people walked into the room once more.
10/28/2019 02:33 pm
“Hey babe” said Virgil as he hugged Logan from behind while he looked for his stuff on his locker “ready to go home?”
Logan smiled as he stored some books on his backpacks “In a sec Virge”
“Sure, keep ignoring me skyscraper” said Jane closing her locker.
“Keep? Can I know what happened on your last class?” Logan asked, it hadn’t been long since Jane arrived, but her and Virgil had a great chemistry, platonically of course, they acted like they were friends since childhood, almost like siblings, sure, most of their relationship was Virgil teasing Jane with her height, since Virgil was really tall and she was really short, he constantly picked Jane up and they called each other several nicknames that Logan didn’t know where they were getting them from, because they had a new one every day.
“The midget here committed a crime” said Virgil, startling Logan for a second.
“The only thing I did was say I don’t really like Halloween”
Virgil gasped dramatically “I can’t believe I trusted such a monster”
Logan rolled his eyes “Stop being dramatic, I didn’t like Halloween when we started dating”
“And I changed that” he looked at Jane “if you only let me-“
“No, I’m not going to dress up for Halloween”
Virgil groaned and leaned on Logan, looking as he was about to throw a tantrum “Lo! Do something!”
“Virgil you are acting like a child, there is no reason for us to force Jane into liking something”
“Thank you Logan”
Virgil stood up properly and crossed his arms “Fine, but you’ve not been forgiven, I’ll get you back for this betrayal”
"Oh I'm so sc-!" Before she could finish, Virgil grabbed her legs and picked her up, carrying her on his shoulder and started to run out of the school "Virgil! Let me go!" She screamed and struggled on his grip.
Logan huffed and rolled his eyes, closing his locker to follow the other two, Virgil had stopped running but was now spinning slowly still carrying Jane “Curse you for being so tall!” She screamed as she struggled.
Virgil smirked and Logan stopped him before he could return the comment “V, put her down”
Virgil made an exaggerated sad face “But L, I’m having fun” Logan just gave him a dad look, or a listen to your boyfriend one “fine” he stopped spinning and left Jane in the floor.
“Thanks Lo” she said “now, if you don’t mind, I’m going home, see you tomorrow” she said and started to walk away.
11/28/2019 06:36 pm
Thanksgiving day, on a conversation days prior Jane had let slipped that she didn’t have anyone to spend it with, and now thre she was, at Logan’s front yard, debating with herself whether she rang the bell or she went back home alone, both Logan and Virgil spent thanksgiving with the other’s family, switching every year, and they had invited her, was she really that proud to just walk away and disappoint them?
Jane took a deep breath and walked forward a couple of steps, just to return to her previous spot shortly after, she was already here, she had taken the bus to Logan’s hometown and was literally in front of his house, why was this so hard?
She sighed and took her phone, facing to the street while she looked for Logan’s number, Jane called him and waited until he answered.
“Salutations” he said.
“Hey Lo, I’m sorry but... I don’t think I can make it to your place”
There was silence for a bit, but Jane could hear mumbles on the other side of the phone, she was about to speak again when Logan interrupted “Falsehood, you’ve been in the front yard for approximately 20 minutes, we can see you from the window” Jane looked back, noticing two figures behind the curtains “Why don’t you come in?” she turned back to face the street, trying to think on something to say.
“Honestly? I don’t know” she sighed “I guess it’s been so long since I actually was in a family, that I prefer stepping back before ruining it”
“Jane... but V wai-“ some movement could be heard on the other side.
Apparently Virgil took the phone away from Logan “Hey you listen, you are our guest, and do you know how rude it’s to keep us waiting?”
“Virgil I-“
“No, I don’t want any excuse, you’re going to talk to me about being anxious? I almost fainted the first time I came to this house, I know your mind it’s going trough every possible negative outcome, but I want you to ignore them, turn around and walk into the house with us, I promise, there’s nothing you can do that would make us hate you, not now, not tomorrow, and never, you are our friend, and you deserve to be surrounded by people who love you on this day as much as everyone else”
Jane didn’t even realized when the tears started leaving her eyes, she turned around to see bot Logan and Virgil waiting in the doorway “So? What do you say thumbelina?”
She snorted at the nickname and hung up the call, walking towards her friends, stopping just in front of them “Im in bigbird” and with that, Virgil pulled her and Logan into a group hug.
12/31/2019 11:35 pm
Thanksgiving with Logan’s moms had actually went excellent, but it still surprised Jane when they invited her to a family dinner once more, this time for Christmas with Virgil’s parents, and that had been delightful as well, Virgil’s dad was an awesome cook and she really enjoyed being part of a family once more.
Virgil and Logan used to spend New Year’s eve by themselves, but this year, Roman decided to throw a party on his parent’s house, nothing huge, only close and not so close friends, but since Roman was very popular, that would mean a ton of people were going, and somehow, Jane was in that list.
So there she was, out in the balcony staring at the night sky, an almost empty plastic cup on her hand, minutes way from starting 2020, and despite everything that happened the last few months, it seemed old habits died hard.
It has become a tradition since years now, to wish upon the stars at the edge of a year that came and went, as if that would actually grant what she asked for, she reached into her dress, taking out a golden chain that had a ring stuck on it and held it thigh on her fist.
“Hey babe, I know it’s probably not that close to the new year where you are but, you know I’ve been doing this for a while, hoping to actually see you again on this new year” she huffed, trying to keep the tears from falling “I like to think it will work someday, that someday will be together again, and no one will separate us this time, you would love it here, my male best friends are dating, and people like us are accepted, our community is very strong, and if you were here, we wouldn’t have to hide anymore, we both would be what we want to be, I know that’s more important to you than what it is for me... so,” she sniffed, looking down at her ring for a moment before returning her sight to the stars “I once again wish, and I once again hope, and I’ll keep that promise I made you years ago” she raised her cup towards the moon “for the new year my love” and she drank the last bit of punch that was on it.
“Aww, homesick?” A voice said from behind, Jane took her cup away and turned around, Patton, just great “Why don’t you do us all a favor and go back then?”
“Very funny Pat, both of us know that I’m dead the second I step back there, but I bet you would love that” Jane started to walk into the party again, just to be stopped by a tug on her necklace.
Patton took the ring between his fingers, recognizing some of the materials used on it “I thought you hadn’t been able to snuck anything out, but why risking something as valuable as this by taking it with you?”
That was the drop that spilled the glass, Jane turned to Patton and snatched her ring out of his grasp “None. Of. Your. Damn. Business.” She looked up at him, and if looks could kill, Patton would have been dead so long ago.
“Ow, did I touch a nerve?” He said smirking.
“Ow, sweet Patton-cake want’s to talk about nerves? Because I know some that I could make you remember if you want”
“Jane” a third voce interrupted, Jane looked back at the door of the balcony and saw Logan standing there “Virgil wanted to know where you were, you know he gets a bit anxious at parties”
“Right, sorry, I just needed some fresh air”
Logan looked at who was next to her “Oh, salutations Patton, I was not aware you were in this party”
“Me neither” said both Patton and Jane at the same time, they really had to stop doing that.
One guy was walking around the room interrupted them, telling everyone to go back inside to start with the countdown “I guess we better go” said Jane as she walked with Logan back to the party, ready to start the new year.
01/08/2020 10:37 am
Logan and Virgil were making out in the steps, Logan sitting on Virgil’s lap with his arms around his boyfriend’s neck, something that was not unusual, was what unexpected, was the voice that suddenly interrupted them “ew get a room loving birds”
They pulled apart to see Jane, they knew she wasn’t bothered by the signs of affection they gave to each other, but that didn’t stop her from teasing “You’re just jealous because you’re lonely” and it didn’t stop Virgil from teasing back either.
“Don’t be so sure about that” she said sitting next to them.
Logan raised an eyebrow and climbed down of Virgil’s lap “Are you implying you do have a couple?”
Jane’s eyes went wide, she hadn’t really thought about it before saying it “I-I didn’t say that”
“Oh J you’re terrible at lying” Virgil laid on the step he was sitting in with his stomach facing down, a smirk on his face “so the smurf is not forever alone as I thought”
Jane looked away and crossed her arms blushing “There’s a lot that you don’t know about me, thank you very much”
“Why didn’t you tell us before?” asked Logan.
“I just thought it wasn’t relevant”
“Well, you’re not going to get away that easily not that we know, tell us more about them”
She looked back to her friends, them knowing didn’t hurt right? She just had to disguise the truth once more, she sighted and finally spoke “Her, she uses she/her, and she’s the most beautiful girl in the entire universe” Jane smiled, not even noticing it.
“ooooooh” said Virgil, clearly teasing his friend “what’s her name?”
Jane thought for a moment, the translation would be “Phoebe, tho she doesn’t have a last name”
“How come?” Asked Logan.
“She’s an orphan and never got adopted, we met in boarding school while I was on an exchange in Europe, she basically lives there and, since I came back, I don’t actually get to see her”
Logan and Virgil turned to see each other once they saw Jane’s smile dropping “Is there any chance that the reason you didn’t want to talk about her, was because it hurts being apart?” Asked Logan.
“Maybe, I see you two being happy together, and it’s not your fault but, I just... miss her a lot everyday”
Virgil sat and got closer to his friend “I can’t say I know how it feels, I can’t even imagine living apart from Logan, but we’re here to help you, to support you” he curled his arm around her neck and pulled her close “no matter what”
Jane smiled up at him “thanks...m-my dad wasn’t supportive at all when I came out, and as soon as he found out I had a girlfriend, he got me out of that school and I moved out as soon as I arrived here, but I had no way enough money to go with her, so I just got here, as far as I could from him, hoping that we can be together again one day”
Logan sat on the opposite side next to Jane, putting a hand on her shoulder, not being very good with physical affection “you will”
Jane turned to smile to him “Thanks again, for listening”
“No prob Bob” said Virgil, getting a small laugh out of Jane’s lips
01/17/2020 11:15 am
“Alright alright, you win, vampires do exist” said Jane, she was laying down on one of the steps, their usual spot to eat, Virgil was laying two steps under her playing with a rubber ball and Logan was sitting in the step between them next to them typing on his laptop.
“Are you saying it just to shut me up?” Asked Virgil.
“We’ve been discussing for half an hour of course I said it to shut you up” she smirked feeling Virgil’s glare “but your points do make sense”
Virgil sighed, figuring that was the best he was going to get to “alright, your turn”
Jane hummed, thinking for a moment “Mermaids”
“No” said Virgil.
“What? Why not?” She asked eating a cookie
“I just don’t think they exist, it’s not logical”
“Actually” said Logan, not looking up from his laptop “Approximately 80% of the ocean is unexplored territory, so we can not discard te possibility of mythical or strange creatures living on them”
Jane swallowed the cookie she was eating “Thanks Logan, and for you” she turned to see Virgil “Ha”
“Logan explained, so this win goes to him, so don’t be so happy about it” he threw the ball up again, waiting to catch it once it fell “Lo, your turn”
Logan looked up from his work “I thought I was not participating in this conversation”
“C’mon, you made Jane win so easily, give me something to debate about”
Logan sighed “You two just like to argue, but fine, aliens”
Jane tried not to choke on her food “Definitely” said Virgil “What do you think pigmy?”
“I-“ she could end it just agreeing, but for some reason she said “No”
“What? Are you serious?” Virgil sat and looked at her “Is the exact same as with the mermaids, literally the whole galaxy is unexplored territory! You can’t tell me they don’t exist”
Jane sat too, but avoided Virgil’s gaze “It’s not the same, we know that there are creatures that can live underwater, but not if there are creatures that can survive in space” she looked at Logan who looked like he was about to say something “without any equipment” said Jane, Logan closed his mouth and continued working.
“Why are you suddenly so skeptical? aside from the vampires you had agreed that everything else existed”
Jane shrugged and crossed her arms “I just think it’s not possible, the Earth is the only habitable planet that we know about, and if there is another one it would be mals and mals away from here, there’s not way of knowing”
“Mals?” Asked both Logan and Virgil.
“Miles” Jane corrected “I meant miles”
The bell sounded, Jane grabbed the envelope of her cookies and her backpack before standing up “We better get to class”
Virgil groaned “Fine, but we’re not done yet!”
“Yeah, yeah, see ya later aligator” she said as she walked to her class
2:32 pm.
Virgil ran towards Jane and Logan’s lockers “Guys!” He said excited “Guess what I just heard” he leaned in the locker next to Jane’s.
“Now what?” She asked
“This people in my class were talking this thing that appeared on the woods behind the school, and it’s supposed to be an alien ship”
Logan sigher and closed his locker “V, I know we were talking about it earlier, but assuming there is such thing as an alien ship around is a complete different thing”
“Just hear this, remember the blackout of a couple of days ago” he continued once the others nodded “What do you think that caused it? And, they were saying that their phones started glitching once they got close to one specific point, all of hose things can’t be just coincidence”
“But we still can’t assume there is a supernatural force behind all of it”
“That’s why we’re going to investigate”
“Wait what?” Asked Jane, who had remained silent until this moment.
Virgil nodded excited “we’ll be the first ones to see a real life ovni! And it’ll be a great chance to prove miss skeptical here, that I was right”
“It would certainly be interesting to analyze the anomalies that are happening” said Logan, thinking for a moment “alright, I’ll go with you”
Virgil smiled and turned to Jane “and you? You are not scared of being wrong right?”
Jane sighed “I am not” she said closing her locker “but I have a ton of homework, I don’t think I’ll be able to make it”
“We can inform you of the results once we come back” said Logan.
“Please, and make sure to take a picture of Virge’s face once you find nothing”
Virgil huffed “you wish” he grabbed Logan’s hand and started walking away
Jane hurried walking to her home, if there was really a ship around she would have been the first to know, there was something fishy about this, she didn’t know what, but it wasn’t good.
?/?/2020 ??:??
Based on how the small creatures worked, it has been another day since they realized Virgil was shrinking, the creatures mostly worked on their devices, and checked on Logan and Virgil from time to time, measuring Virgil’s height and using the small drone to inspect Logan.
By this time, Virgil was almost the hight of a kid, barely being eye level with his boyfriend’s waist, being closer to his hip, his shirt was like a dress for him now and his boots, socks and pants were forgotten on a corner of his enclosure.
Logan’s ears became longer and pointer, being identical to the creature’s ears, they made him take his shirt off at some point and he noticed some weird dark blue markings forming on his back and arms, but those were all his changes so far.
The lights of the room turned of, indicating the little people would soon leave them alone, the door closed once the were outside, Logan wondering once again why was the door almost six feet tall if they barely were one foot in height, not only that, but most of the devices that weren’t movil were very high up, he just let it aside as always and sat next to the clear wall that separated him from Virgil, their conversation being the usual, were they going to be able to get out someday?
After some time, they were both falling asleep when the door opened, a large figure, or at least large for what they were used to at this point but in reality was no bigger than five feet, got inside of the room with a flashlight in hand.
It had the same features as the small creatures, the ears, the antena, and even the mask, but it had splatters of different colors instead of being plain white, they looked at the couple for some seconds, the light starting to become annoying, but before any of them could speak, they turned to the different devices of the room, working rather quick, as if they were doing it as a secret.
Logan looked at Virgil, who seemed just as confused as him, he stood up and walked as close as he could, resting his hands on the glass “uh, hello? Who might you be?” Silence, no answer “could you answer some of our questions?” Again, silence, it seemed it was ignoring him “are you actually going to-“
A beep noise interrupted him, and he almost lost his balance, the wall in front of him had disappeared, he looked back, noticing the wall in front of Virgil’s enclosure was gone too, he didn’t think it twice and ran inside, kneeling and hugging his boyfriend tightly, who was now standing up and hugged back.
The creature grabbed Logan’s arms and pulled him, not really getting to move him, Logan pulled his arm away “What are you-“ they made a silence sign and then pointed at the open door.
“Call me crazy Lo, but I think they’re trying to help us” said Virgil.
Logan looked between the creature and the door “‘fine, we’ll come with you, lead the way” they nodded and started to walk out, Logan stood up and grabbed Virgil’s hand, and they both followed.

Nothing, Jane had been trying to find more about this ship that landed on Earth since she arrived from school with no result, she had been able to check that there actually was a ship in he first place, but it was blocked, there was no way to get into the system, a text message got her out of her thoughts, she grabbed her phone and opened her conversation with Virgil.
Tall ass 👿: we’re gonna get going to te woods, prepare to be ashamed when we find something.
🐭 Midget: ha! We’ll see about that
Jane left her phone aside, there wasn’t much she could do now that Logan and Virgil were going to be there, she just hoped nothing went wrong.
?/?/2020 ??:??
They followed the creature to what seemed like infinite halls, stopping from time to time to check there wasn’t anyone else around, they stopped suddenly and Logan noticed his boyfriend’s heavy breathing, he turned around and looked down at him “Are you alright Virge?” He whispered.
“I... I’m fine Lo, it’s just... it’s just hard to keep up since my legs are sh-shorter now”
Logan frowned and kneeled to be under Virgil’s eye level “You are clearly not fine starlight, I could carry you if you’re tired”
Virgil shook his head “I don’t want... you to carry me, I-I can do this”
“You are and I know it” he rubbed his back slowly “that’s why I apologize for doing this” in a quick movement, Logan grabbed Virgil and picked him up, carrying him like a child.
“Logan, put me down” he would have screamed at his boyfriend, but they couldn’t make that much noise.
“V, you said it yourself, you are slower now and leaving you to follow could be dangerous, what if someone sees you? This is an easier and quicker way to get out”
Virgil pouted and leaned on Logan’s chest “fine but you better let me down once we’re out”
Logan smirked “no promises”, the creature they were following made a sign and they moved once more, Virgil won’t admit it, but being in Logan’s arms was kind of nice.

“Virgil we’ve been walking for a long time, I hate to break it to you, nut it seems there’s nothing around” said Logan, following his boyfriends as they walked deeper into the woods.
“It has just been half an hour or so, we just have to keep going until we find something”
Logan rolled his eyes, they kept walking for ten minutes or so when the atmosphere changed abruptly, it became colder and almost tense, Virgil turned to see Logan, assuming he had feel it too because of his face, he got his phone out and tried to unlock it, but the screen started to glitch, turning on and off and changing without him touching it “ha! I told you thee was something, c’mon we must be close”
Virgil hurried his steps and Logan was trying to keep up, the vegetation around them became more and more dense as they walked, almost being hard to pass trough it, Virgil stopped, startling Logan, he raised an eyebrow and walked past him, stopping and watching in awe the construction in front of them.
A white half egg shaped construction with blue, purple, silver and golden details laid in front of them, it seemed like the other half was buried in the ground.
“I told you, you can’t tell me that’s not an alien ship” said Virgil.
“We can not jump into conclusions yet”
“Fine, I’ll prove it” he crouched down and started walking towards it.
“W-Wait no, Virgil come back” Logan groaned when his words were ignored and walked behind him.
?/?/2020 ??:??
A big silver door stood before them, the creature they were following stopped and Virgil and Logan saw as their antena started to shine, after some seconds the door opened and they offered they hand to Logan, after some hesitation he took it and they started running.
Virgil held Logan’s shirt as they ran away from the ship, his eyes were closed but he decided to open them, try to see where the creature was taking them, he looked at them, but instead of focusing on the forest, Virgil turned his attention to they arm, their wrist and what was tied around it to be exact, a dark blue and purple bracelet, Virgil looked around his neck and grabbed his bracelet, that was now tied around his neck do to his shrinking, not long ago Jane made friendship bracelets for the three of them, Virgil’s was pink and blue, Logan’s was purple and pink and Jane’s was blue and purple, and identical to the one the creature had.
Confused, Virgil tugged his boyfriend’s shirt getting their attention, Logan looked down at him “Is there something wrong?”
“Look at their bracelet” he said pointing to it.
Logan listened, noticing the similarity too and stopping, making the creature to stop along them, he pulled their wrist closer and took the bracelet between his fingers “How do you have this?” He asked, they pulled their arm away without answering and made a sign for them to keep walking, Logan shook his head “no, we are not going to go with you, sure you helped us escape, but you are one of them aren’t you? how are we supposed to trust you when you are not telling us anything or answering our questions? Why did you help us? Where are you taking us? How and why do you have our friend’s bracelet?”
There was silence for a moment until they sighed “promise not to freak out?”
“I don’t know if we could since those are the first words you say to us” said Virgil.
Logan looked down at him for a moment before looking back at the creature “If you’ll explain everything, we wont”
They hesitated for a moment “alright” they raised their hand towards their mask, some markings appeared on it, glowing in pink for a second, they grabbed it taking it off, revealing a way too familiar face, Jane.
Both humans were shocked, Logan took a step back without really thinking it as he looked at her, the same girl who they’ve been spending time with, talking with, laughing with stood there, but he could not stop looking at the parts of her body that related their friend with those aliens who kidnapped them, that showed Jane wasn’t human “y-you...”
“Listen Lo I-I understand this is hard to take in bu-“
“You’re one of them” said Virgil.
Jane looked away “I am” she looked back at the couple “but I have nothing to do with them anymore I swear, I didn’t know they were coming to Earth and I had no idea what they were doing to you two”
Logan took a step forward after hesitating “you... you have no intention of hurting us correct?”
“No! I-I would never, you’re my friends, and I promise I will explain everything, but we have to get to a safer place first”
Virgil and Logan looked at each other “we want all the truth” said Virgil.
Jane nodded “And I will give it to you, but you need to trust me, and come with me” she extender her hand for Logan to take it.
Logan looked between Jane and her hand “Just lead the way”
She lowered her hand but nodded, turned around and began walking, glancing back from time to time to make sure they were following, the next hours were not going to be any easy.
