I know you posted it days ago but you said something about wanting to rant about either karl or his fanbase and its been itching at my brain. Ive no clue whats happening or what is happening at all cause no one seems to be making clear points?? Or explaining anything?

Obviously you do NOT have to talk about it im sure it might be a sore point to rant because people can get SO needlessly rude to others over it. But if you want to idk explain? Just rant? Im definetly curious what it was over or about.

The "you dont need to talk about this" is amplified by the fact i am DAYS late and you are probably over it by now.

okay hi yes im happy to talk about this but i think i should preface with two things:

1) even tho it may seem like im biased towards him or being very defensive of him im actually a super casual karl viewer and the only reason i am super defensive of him sometimes is bc we act a lot alike irl and that is mainly because of our neurodivegency. when i say a lot i mean we share traits like "annoying" stimming (jumping around, making loud noises, repeating the same phrases until everyone is sick of hearing them), the difficulty reading situations, the very obvious issues with volume control and not just bouncing from subject to subject to subject as we fucking please. basically anything you've seen karl do on stream that is Very Neurodivergent ive done the same in my own way which is why i get defensive when i see people calling him annoying or saying they dont like him, usually for these types of reasons. that being said, when i say im a very casual karl viewer, i fucking mean it. i usually only watch him when he's streaming with other ccs i like or when he's doing chill alt streams bc even with the annoying donos, he's pretty relaxing and comforting when he's just fucking around by himself and he isnt trying to get as hype as he would on a main channel stream. so yeah, it may seem like im biased and sure, i guess i am on some level, but it's not coming from a place of me hyperfixating on him or me even loving him as a cc, it's coming from me being a neurodivergent who likes him just enough to get upset when i see people basically being casually ableist towards him.

2) i dont have all the facts or even a great understanding on what the fuck has been happening recently with his "drama"...mostly bc he talked about it on his priv, which im not on, and people are gatekeeping the tweets, as they always do, and basically making you "dm to see them" (which is already a problem in and of itself bc apparently in these tweets he said he didnt want them being ss and shared, yet they are being shared thru dms over and over and over again like. at that point just stop withholding the information and post the fucking shit, you clearly dont care that he said "dont share"). additionally, most of the threads ive seen on this situation havent actually explained the initial issue, just talked about his apology (a lot of people have said "it's bad" but havent said why and with no screenshots ((i havent asked for someone to dm me them and i still havent seen them posted, which is mildly surprising, but incredibly frustrating at this point)), i only have a few basic details i can actually assess it on) or they talked about the initial issue in very vague details so um. excuse me trying to explain this now, but ill try and make it make sense with how little ive actually pieced together.

(oh, also, here's my first rant about the ableism in this fandom which is way more broad. this is a pretty different rant from that one, but they're both pretty big reasons why i hate this fandoms treatment of karl)

so basically the problems started with mr beast being apart of a charity stream that donated either to autism speaks or to a similar company, im unsure on that part. im also unsure on if the people participating in the stream actually knew of this or not bc, from what i remember, the money was being donated to a separate organization that was like. under the bad company or some shit like that, idk how stuff like that works and also i read about this shit months ago bc this originally happened months ago and just sorta came to a head recently.

anyways, i think karl was supposed to be apart of this stream but pulled out of it right before (that or these were two separate streams and karl was supposed to participate in the first but pulled out while mr beast did both?? idk. regardless karl did not actually participate, just mr beast). from there people started doing the guilt from association bullshit they always do, this was also doubled by the fact that the chris being racist stuff came out sometime around then and basically he got dragged all over twitter for "being ableist" and "supporting racists" and i cant remember if he actually apologized when this originally happened or not. i vaguely remember him apologizing about something back then but i genuinely dont know if it was this or something else.

basically that died down eventually, a good chunk of people unstanned him but him and honktwt didnt end up getting the lovely lil technotwt treatment and they still havent yet, surprisingly. good for them honestly ajsksk

but now we get to the past few weeks and apparently something happened with him "laughing at someone saying the r slur" (it was mizkif, i believe), specifically when it was directed at other people, which is a big yikes, obviously, but when karl was called out for this a lot of people kind of. made this into a situation that it wasnt bc um. basically karl didnt laugh at it, he gave a few nervous giggles, as people often do when in a situation like that (and karl specifically said he does this in the one part of his apology tweet which i did stumble upon, although it wasnt the important part of the apology thread bc why would it be) and people fucking crucified him for it. they quite literally dragged a neurodivergent man for supposedly "laughing at the r slur" when he can literally reclaim it and also he was just nervous laughing.

and this is where the situation just gets really bad because they. basically forced him to admit that he was autistic on his priv to apologize for this. i havent seen the screenshots of him saying this, but i saw people discussing it and i am frankly so fucking pissed about this because sure, it was a bad situation, and i understand people wanting an explanation, but an apology? for a neurodivergent man nervous laughing at a slur he can reclaim? and then forcing the man to admit something he literally said in that tweet he didnt want people to know which is why people were being so gatekeepy about it while also LOUDLY discussing the situation, as if that wouldnt drive MORE PEOPLE to look for screenshots and ways to get ahold of this information? and then people had the audacity to call it a "bad apology" when they had quite literally just violated his privacy by forcing him to admit something that he shouldnt have needed to share in the first place if he didnt want to, which he didnt.

and this is why im so pissed off. karl is already constantly picked at and made fun of and called annoying for his neurodivergent traits, things which he literally cant help, things which are generally harmless, and now he was forced into a situation where he can now be further picked at and made fun of and called annoying bc they forced him to admit something private instead of just understanding and accepting that he had been nervous laughing at someone using a slur he has definetly been called for his neurodivergency.

tldr of my thoughts: yes i think karl needed to address this situation, it definetly looked bad, but twitter stans have this sense of entitlement with their ccs and because of that, they consistently take it way too far and harm the people they claim to care about so dearly. we've seen it happen time and time again with dream, but this is the first time ive seen them basically force someone to out themselves to make their apology "valid" and most of them still seem to not want to accept it anyways, which just makes me feel bad for him bc now that info is out their and people are just disregarding it to continue "holding him accountable".

anyways, i think that's all i can really say on this topic rn tbh, if anyone else knows this situation better please feel free to lmk clarifications and ill add them in since, like i said, i know fuck all thanks to twitter being so goddamn hush hush about the important details while simultaneously being the loudest mfers about how much they hate karl now instead of just fucking unfollowing and moving on.

thanks for the ask and im sorry if this is confusing!! i just think this is one of those weird situations where like. i think karl deserved some criticism for what happened and how he handled it or at least he shouldve been asked to address it but that just. isnt what happened, at all. he was harrassed. karl got harrassed and because of that he handled this situation even more sloppily than he probably wouldve and exposed private info about himself that he didnt feel comfortable doing and it just. fucking sucks tbh.

I participate in a few other Fandoms and let me tell you, the anon hate isn't just limited to here. I firmly believe its just the same handful of spiteful individuals who have nothing better to do with their time than spew hate and get sick pleasure on causing pain and driving good people away from the site. I can't speak for everyone, but most of us who enjoy the ADCU writings and art want to spread nothing but love and joy. You (and other creators in the fandom) are a gift and make our days brighter!!!!!

Hello my dear anon, thank you for this message. I often find myself having a lot to say and a lot of opinions on fandom and the bullshit that crops up now and again, but really when it comes down to it? I'm just tired.

I know that it doesn't exist just in this fandom (although I've personally never experienced it worse in any other fandom other than the adcu), but frankly I wish it didn't exist anywhere. It's exhausting to try and come to a place for escape and find it even more stressful than the real world problems we all deal with.

I'm a firm believer that we don't all have to get along, or like each other, or even tolerate each other, but we do owe it to each other to be decent human beings. Messages like this from kind people like you make it all worthwhile, and I am so grateful and lucky for the love that I get. I'm sending it all back to you.

You know what? You are damn right

Even though I cant make a whole essay analysis off of it right now ( I wanna wait for “Chat Blance” and “Felix” to air first to have the whole 3 seasons list of abuse complete and I’m kinda short on time from tomorrow on) I sure as hell started actually writing down the types of abuse done by Gabriel to Adrien seen in the show. Cuz im lying sick in bed so why the hell not, its for important education reasons. Cuz the amount of people in this fandom believing Adrien isnt being abused just because Gabriel doesn’t marsh into Adriens room to punch his son in the face every 2 scenes, is actually quite concerning.

The list is not complete yet its just what I could remember today without rewatching 50+ episodes but still I may say that I still got a very large and diverse amount (cuz the abuse in the Agreste family is one of my favorite aspects of Miraculous).

I sorely focused on Gabriel for now. Meaning:

The abusive actions Gabriel has shown to have done and used against Adrien JUST AS GABRIEL

Then Gabriel as a person. His personality, tone, bodylanguage and choice of words when being with Adrien.

Then the harmful/abusive actions against/affecting Adrien Gabriel does AS HAWKMOTH or for his plans.

Every point isnt every incident Gabriel whenever Gabriel did something because sometimes things happen twice. Every point is another factor or type of abuse that brings in another layer.

(Ill also put them here in photo form because putting it all in here will get too much)

Sadly I couldn’t dive into how these types of abuse affect and cause Adriens behaviour in the show because that is just too much for one day. Adrien is too well written. Maybe one day I’ll find the time to really make some essay posts including all sides but for now

Its frankly a fuck tone and im not even anywhere close to done. This entire abusive and toxic father-son power imbalance is so incredibly well written and often downright brutal when you think about it. But I’m just impressed that this show is for one ALLOWED to do this and two ABLE to portray this so phenomenally. Cuz this is abuse. This happens in real life to abused children. Take out the magic part of the show and you have a real life scenario.

And I freaking LOVE it!

But you know what I’ll love even more once we are there (and it is already build up and forshadowed like crazy)?

Adrien getting the fuck out of this nightmare of a house and getting adopted by the Dupain-Changs! Cuz for as much as I like Gabriel as a character and villain, I want to see this bitch burn and pay for his actions. Let him face the consequences and loose the son he abused, controlled, manipulated and neglected and abandoned this entire time.

I cant wait to see Adrien turn against his Father after finding out he’s Hawkmoth and step by step twisting out of the grasp of our toxic main villain until one day hes finally free and in a wonderful and loving family he can truly bloom in.

Yes. Its gonna get ugly. Its gonna get unfair. And its definitely gonna get more and more intense between these two. Its realistic just like it always has been and I honestly wouldn’t want it any other way.

Give me a real abuse Survivor children can look up to, because by God in heaven, there are children out there who need it! And Miraculous is doing a fantastic job with both Adrien and Chloe even if most of the fandom cant see it yet. Later, when we truly have the big picture these two will be unique characters of redemption and survival. But until then? Until they are out of their toxic situations and environments? Its gonna be ugly, rough, painful but bloody real and understandable

Because children/kids and, fuck, young ADULTS like me need ugly and bloody real and not some characters who have our backstory but still always happen to be oh so brave, so unafraid of the consequences of disobeying or rebellion and OH SO suspiciously unproblematic even though that’s complete unrelatable bullshit

Miraculous keeps this shit real, with real consequences, real behaviours and real and not rushed solutions

im just gonna say it, fans are allowed to just be here for the cute shit, fans are allowed to not spend everyday stressing about how rich celebrities can get richer,

like do i want louis to be the most successful? ofc! but that doesn't mean i don't see that he is successful now, and he IS successful, sure he could be more successful but other than streaming his music, buying his albums and supporting him there's not really much else i can do and frankly its not my fcking job.

i am *saorise ronan voice* so sick of coming on here and constantly feeling like shit because all anyone can do is moan about how shit louis' doing, like anytime something good happens its "but its not good enough" and omg yes i know, i am not blind i can see that louis' situation isn't the same as some of the other guys from 1D, but i also don't know nearly enough about the music industry to tell you why and truthfully i don't care to and again its not my job to know, being a fan isn't a job, no one is paying me to support louis, i do it because i love him and i love his art but man fandoms can be draining - i say this because so many people have so many different opinions about the ways in which louis is being mismanaged or sabotaged, and like sometimes that makes sense and other times it sounds like a reach, what i can agree on is that his team appears wholly incompetent and they could certainly do better but i am so sick of reading about how harry styles is personally sabotaging louis tomlinson, you know just once i'd like to come on this website and have someone talk positively about louis' career without mentioning harry styles lol coz whether they're together or not isn't really any of my concern, like i genuinely don't care, and why would he want to sabotage louis when he could easily just fcking buy playlist placements and get invited to popular late night shows and like idk work on his own career???

people are allowed to view their fandoms as safe spaces, as happy places, as a place to come when the real world gets to be too much, they don't deserve to be harassed because they don't appear to feel as intensely as you do.

BTS Analysis;

I don’t even know if I can call this an unpopular opinion bc I know some people agree with this, this is more of an in-depth analysis and personal experience I guess. It’s all about bts... and its lowkey a mess. I apologise in advance for any grammar/spelling errors, and times I may contradict myself a bit. This is something that REALLY bothers me. I just want to clarify that I love bts a lot, and that I was the HUGEST STAN for a good 5ish months. I still stan them but not as much due to the following reasons.

They just don’t make good music anymore. They love yourself era was when everything turned to shit. The actual core love yourself concept is very good but,,,, it was executed really poorly.

Dna was my first comeback with them, even though I’ve been listening to them since august 2016. But when actually became a stan in April 2017, I was obsessed with them. I was so damn excited for their September 2017 cb that my standards were through the roof. During the summer they changed the logo and did the beyond the scene thing,,, that’s the first thing that kind of irked me,,, and then they did the highlight reels in the style of I need u and they were redeemed.

When love yourself her started promotions and teasers, the bar was higher than the person who edited the DNA mv. The concept pics were so unfitting??? And just lacked that aesthetic element. I dint like them at all,,,, and the album cover was,,, below standard and looked rushed and lazily designed. But when serendipity came out I loved it (and I still do) so that fuelled my expectations for the music, even though they weren’t really that damaged by the odd first impression of the album. But then DNA came out and???? I was so disappointed?????? The beat was so annoying,,, the mv was so ugly,, the outfits were ugly,,, the lyrics were weird. In other words DNA was just a straight up flop... I hoped the rest of the album would have been better but,,,, it really, REALLY wasn’t.

After love yourself her I lost a lot of interest in bts. I missed their old music so much, and I was genuinely upset over it. I didn’t follow them as closely as I used to. I started to joke about them with my friends who lost interest in bts before me, but I still missed the old bts so much. The whole Ellen show thing, all the western media like Buzzfeed and Billboard making vids and articles about bts, all the rigged award shows, it pissed me off bc they were getting famous in the US bc of their worst album that didn’t display their full potential at all!!!!

Imma just go out and say it, armys are one of the most toxic fandoms ever.

Sometimes they’re just plain disrespectful and starting arguments where they don’t belong. I wouldn’t be able to count how many times I got attacked on Twitter, Instagram and even in the YouTube comments for expressing a different opinion. I remember all the fan wars and scandals. All the mobs at airports, All the times k-fans and i-fans tried to ruin another groups reputation (I’m not saying other fans never did this, bc it was always a thing, but it was never this extreme.) and the fuckin credit card thing oh my god,,,, a huge shitstorm caused by one fandom that lasts for years on end.

When bts got really mainstream, and gained more young western fans, they really ruined bts even further for me. Not to mention all the cringey tweets and memes, they hurt to look at. I absolutely don’t mind the “you got no jams” meme or the “ExCuSE mE” one, bc theyre just pure goof from the members, but when armys took it and overused it, that’s when it started to get annoying.

Some armys genuinely think bts is the only kpop group and that the world revolves around them. They comment “annyeonghaseyo any armys here???!!!” in the most unexpected places, I deadass saw someone on my overwatch team playing quick play with the name “army.FOREVER.saranghae” yall do realise it costs 10$ to change ur blizzard username, right?

Some armys also don’t respect other kpop groups in older gens (or any other ones for that matter) and assume that bts broke through into the western world themselves, which is complete bullshit, without groups like bigbang, shinee, tvxq, shinhwa, h.o.t, seo taiji boys etc etc (and other ones I don’t know of rip) kpop would have never gotten into the western world.

I never identified as an army bc I knew they were cringey bc of my friends who were HUGE armys back in 2016 and low-key koreaboos, and I knew what the bad stans looked like, so I never associated with them, and just called myself a bts stan. But the whole western situation just got so goddamn worse. I was sick of the Americans plaguing bts for me.

I also wanna say, I know not all armys are toxic and cringey. And I respect the level headed and chill Armys, yall are doing it right.

Moving on from Armys, I noticed a change in bts themselves. Namjoon changed his stage name, which absolutely sent me. I understand the meaning behind it but for some reason I felt that he did it to be fake deep? Or woke, and that he tried to completely cover-up his past self. The other members became cocky and were always draped in all that ugly Gucci and designer shit. I knew they were being forced to act the way they were acting, bc I know them well. I know how they really are. I know that they’re good people. I know they’re very humble deep down. They had that special connection with their fans before, that made u feel like u were good friends with them, and they absolutely ruined that. They’re being forced to put on this fake image to impress you filthy Americans.

I still stan bts atm. But I stan them for their old music and the people they truly are, not who they are portrayed to be. I can’t remember when euphoria came out, but I was kinda annoyed they tried to incorporate hyyh prologue into their shitty concept. And the song was also annoying and too edm-ish (like most of their new songs, idk why their style completely changed). Anyway, when tear came out, I was still kinda off the bandwagon, and I saw the concept pics and I was surprised at how nice they were. I saw the album cover, which was still ugly but better than the previous one. Then Singularity came out and!!!!! I loved it a lot. And then fake love happened. Oof is all I have to say. But some songs on the album, were actually good. Like the truth untold, paradise and OUTRO TEAR. Outro tear will remain the best song in the love yourself trilogy.

I also feel that I have to acknowledge that for all the love yourself albums only the intro and outro were genuinely up to standard (except outro answer).

Then came love yourself answer and idol. When I found out they were collabing with niki minaj I lost it. The concept pics were ugly once again, it was supposed to a controversial comeback???? And??? It wasn’t. I’m honestly glad it wasn’t promoted.

I noticed a repetitiveness with songs on answer. The beat was off with the singing. It was all just a mess. I also noticed the amount of godddamn auto tune in the songs (eg, mic drop, fake love, idol, airplane pt.2 and others I can’t remember atm) all of bts’s old songs all sound unique and different, and they all had this “emotional” element to them, to elaborate on that, compare dna, fake love or idol to save me, I need u or young forever. Notice how dna, fake love and idol convey absolutely no emotion through the lyrics or the actual beat of the song, unlike save me, I need u or young forever, that literally have more sentimental/emotional value in the few English lines that are in the song then all of the lyrics in their 3 new title tracks combined. I think this is my most difficult point to explain bc different songs make people feel different things, but it’s no doubt that you can tell the difference between a song that’s made to appeal to the masses with no unique properties to a song that coveys deep emotion (whatever the emotion may be) through the beat, the lyrics and the sound of the vocals/rapping alike. Listen to intro nevermind, and then listen to go go and just try to tell me that im wrong.

Alos, bts seem to have incorporated auto tune into songs, especially on their vocalists. bts don’t need the auto tune bc they’re good vocalists. Also, I have to mention, the vocal line isn’t the “best” per say. they’re good vocalists but it’s nothing special. Seokjin is the best vocalist period. Jungkook’s voice is generic, and in recent songs he has been straining it to reach the notes. Taehyungs voice isn’t even that special, it’s just deep, and it only really suits ballads and R&B songs like singularity or butterfly. Jimin has a very nice voice, but again, it’s nothing extraordinary. I feel that Jin has the most vocal potential, and he doesn’t get to show it, he has this really unique voice, idk what it is about it that just??? I really love it. But to clarify, I’m not hating on their voices or saying there untalented, because they’re very talented, but most of vocal line gets too much credit. As for rap line, I think they’re one of bts’s strongest points. Namjoons style is so smooth and just overall good? It amazes me that he rapped so well over the years with a breathing problem. Hoseok is a good rapper too, his sound is unique and his adlibs add to that uniqueness in older songs, as for Yoongi, I genuinely think he’s one of the best rappers in the industry, it’s not about the speed element, it’s about his flow, his power, his emotion, everything about his rap is just amazing.

Now I wanna talk about the member’s individual popularity. The maknae line has the most stans, and quite frankly, their stans are the worst. Treat all of the members with the same love and respect. Sure, it’s perfectly fine to have a bias but to disregard the other members is just plain wrong.

Bts are human beings, first and foremost, and then there musicians second. They’re being made into media puppets and clout bait, which they absolutely don’t deserve. They deserve recognition for their good stuff, which they have PLENTY of.

All in all, I’m sick of the American attention. It’s cringey, annoying and unnecessary. Sure, bts deserve recognition but not that much of it!!!!!!

And they were being recognised for the wrong thing for fucks sake!!!! I didn’t like ANY of the new songs on answer. I only liked epiphany. And then I found out it wasn’t written by any of the members. Rip. Fans will unfortunately blindly follow, stream and like whatever they put out like blind sheep because it’s accustomed to them, bighit KNOW that they’ll make more money in America. They know no matter what bts put out, no matter how shit it is, fans will like it and itll be revenue for the company. And all the mobile games and the bt21??? Was so unnecessary?? Capitalism amirite? Quantity over quality. It’s the sad truth.

Armys tend to mix up criticism and hate. Although there is a very thin line between the two, there is a difference. Criticism is the analysis and judgement of the merits and faults of something. Hate is blind and unjustified. Hate is disliking something for no reason, or for a very invalid reason. So for example, saying; “I don’t like this apple because its bitter and im not a huge fan of bitter things” is fine to say, unlike, “FUCK THIS APPLE BECAUSE ITS BITTER, FUCK ALL APPLES” you know? It’s okay to dislike a group. It’s NOT okay to hate on a group. No one’s is going to gain anything by hate.

So, all the youtubers are reacting to bts for clout, the fandom is a fucking mess, armys are attacking other fandoms for no reason, the members lost their TRUE humbleness and neglected their real personalities and they’ve put out 3 overall bad standard albums over the course of a whole ass year.

But I still have this spark of hope for them. Why? Because I love them, they have a special place in my heart. I know they have the potential to be amazing, unique and just overall good people with their own personalities, and truly special musical abilities.

After their tour I honestly, really hope the attention dies down and they put out another good, original, album like the hyyh albums, with nice concepts, good songs, and a pleasant to look at mv. It’s really all I ask for. The old bts. I know I’ll never get them back, and I absolutely cherish their old stuff, like the bulletproof logo, bangtan boys, rap monster, hyyh, young forever, no more dream, wings, them all goofing around together and not caring about their image, their wholesome interactions with fans, and all the songs and concepts and theories that never have, and never will be recognised.

On a final note, I realise I can’t blame bts themselves entirely for this. This stuff is only partially “their fault”. Its bighit’s fault, the army’s and haters fault and the media’s fault. But, America is to blame the most. That’s all for today.

hey ry you mentioned something about how kubo's represention wasn't bad but that it wasn't perfect either. like in what ways? cause i know you aren't being critical but i also wanna understand where you're coming from with that.

yeah sure, i’ll give it a shot.

first thing’s first, i’m american. even if i wasn’t white (which i am), i don’t have the same say in this kind of thing as a native japanese person. the more i learn about japanese culture, the more i learn that there’s so much i DON’T know. in the end, it’s the queer people of japan who get to say whether this is good representation or not. the culture and norms and pressures of japanese society are VASTLY different from from especially western culture (ie. women in the west reclaiming their sexuality while sexualization of girls is a big problem in japan).

so, given my perspective as a queer, white, american, this is what i thought of yuri on ice:

i don’t think the narrative about ‘a perfect world’ for queer people was a bad narrative choice. as i mentioned on twitter, 1) kubo is a cishet woman. she should not be telling the stories of queer struggles. that is for our community to do. so criticism that she didn’t include homophobia or what-the-fuck-ever is frankly, in my opinion, bullshit.

then, 2) for fuck’s sake, can we be content with a happy queer narrative? finally? this year at my school’s cinema i went to see both ‘closet monster’ and ‘moonlight.’ both were good films, but both heavily feature homophobia and bullying and tbqh??? i’m sick of it. i’m tired of seeing the queerphobic narrative dragged out and put on display. it sucks. it sucks that my parents threatened to take me out of school for having a girlfriend. it sucks that im scared to hold her hand at disney bc i think some suburban mom is gonna call me a f**. i want to consume happy queer content for once in my fucking life. what about all the fanfics we read of queer relationships?? don’t most of them ignore queer struggles?? because for once in our godforsaken lives, we’d like to not be reminded that half the world wants us dead. i don’t have any problem with kubo’s ‘perfect world.’ it’s the kind of world i’m going to write as a queer author who’s tired of the same sad story.

kubo’s history: short one here. i challenge anyone who saw her homophobic tweets to think real long and hard as to what they were doing and saying seven years ago. if you can prove that you were an unproblematic, woke angel then i will literally eat drain cleaner. bc at thirteen, i CERTAINLY didn’t give two fucks about most minority groups, including two i eventually became a part of. god, just shut up.

how it could have been perfected: actual queer japanese people on staff. if kubo had brought in or at least talked to queer japanese men about their relationships and how to portray viktor and yuuri’s relationship. from what i understand, she didn’t talk to any actual queer people about the relationship. ideally, there will be content like NABARI NO OU, with queer characters created by a queer author, but that doesn’t mean straight creators shouldn’t write about queer characters, in the same way that white ppl like me SHOULD write poc characters and SHOULD consult on how to avoid stereotypes/offensive material but SHOULD NOT write about racism.

a follower pointed this out but it’s the fandom that’s made this all about representation in the first place?? kubo just wanted to write a story that happened to include gay men, not revolutionize the anime industry. i think the attitude of putting so much pressure on her to be the ideal of queer representation is fundamentally just,, a bad idea altogether. just let this straight woman write a happy story about gay men skating and let queer people get excited bc they’re seeing queer people in a positive light

the akc thing makes me so upset, bc i know for literaly YEARS akc fans are always saying "yes im trash for liking him" and it makes me sad. ppl feel guilty for no reason. and it goes to show for akc fans, don't make disclaimers, bc ppl will think ur a bad person anyway. which makes me so upset but also i hate that ppl just believe it. some of the nastiest ppl in p5 fandom were fans of a good guy character but that's okay bc why? bc we just agree what the game says that the pt are always right? 1

2 or worse, its okay to be an asshole if your fave is a character fandom thinks is morally pure?? i'm sick of this, i'm sick of being harassed and assume to be an abuser over characters (its so lazy) while ppl think its fine to be a bully if you like a "cinnamon roll". there's so many of those "pure" characters i can't look at bc their fans harassed ppl.

I used to be neutral on peg0ryu but now I cannot stand it and have it blacklisted everywhere bc I saw one too many fic pitting goro as an abusive ex and how ryuji stans will ignore ryujis misogyny but accuse anyone who likes goro of outright bullshit??? I don’t think it’s most of them but it’s enough that it’s upsetting as someone who strongly relates to joker and goro!! it’s upsetting to see goro framed as abusive for traits directly connected to mental illness as trauma and it’s upsetting that as fans we’re assumed to be dangerous and immoral as well

while there are certain characters that can show you how someone thinks (such as the joker dcu), most characters I,,,, really don’t think say that much. someone enjoying junko enoshima doesn’t make me think they’re actually planning to cause the apocalypse???? and you can be an outright terrible person and like a nice character. just see all the anti sjws who use steven su icons!

the fact that I’m expected to like,,,, clarify that I don’t approve of murder is so sad yet hilarious. like no I’m sorry I don’t care that goro killed some ceos and politicians??? did u forget joker and ann were down to kill kamoshida?????? like idk I don’t see what goro did as. unforgivable. honestly I’m pretty sure the only reason it’s framed that way is bc of haru and futaba and like sorry haru but I do not care that ur exploitive capitalist dad is dead. wakaba is a bit more compelling but there’s. a large possibility she used goro in experiments if we’re looking at her research (which is SPECIFICALLY about rampage incidents and palaces...... rampage being specific to goro thus far and palaces requiring the metanav....) and frankly if that’s what happened i. don’t think holding it over goros head for going after an adult exploiting him would be right

tldr why does everyone think “goro killed people” is at all a good argument
