The Justice League had finally given the go ahead to officially form the Young Justice. Not that any of them were going to stop regardless of having permission. Since the Justice League had opened up their slots for more than the original six earlier that year, Batman thought it would be a good opportunity to use the Young Justice to help reach out and recruit some other heroes without drawing too much attention by going themselves. With protégés of most of the originals in the roster it was a solid plan.
They had been told about their newest "assignment" (if you could even call it that) earlier that day and they would be leaving in the morning. They were supposed to go meet a duo in Illinois (it was their base of operation even though they'd worked in other place). Phantom has been in the vigilante/hero scene for almost 10 years now, and Red Huntress started a few months after him.
Their names were well known, Dick had known of them even before he became Robin. But despite their national (maybe even International fame) little was actually known about the duo and the rumored Team Phantom that alluded to there being more than just the two. Dick had been a big fan of Phantom, and modeled a lot of his moves off of the super-powered hero.
Batman told them that they had already reached out the Phantom (Red Huntress had deferred them to him, and refused to speak with them afterwords) and he agreed to meet the YJ team and mentor them for a designated amount of time. There had been rumors in certain forums that the JLA had reached out to Phantom to be one of the original members of the league but he had turned them down. When Kid Flash had brought it up during the meeting, Batman refused to confirm or deny (which was proof enough).
The plan was for the YJ would stay in Amity Park for 15 days and learn from them, they would check in after that to see weather their stay should be extended. Specifically citing that their legendary teamwork would be incredibly beneficial to learn from to strengthen them as a team. The other plan, and equally as important, was to warm them up to joining the JLA ranks since a direct invitation hadn't been received favorably.
All that was thrown in the window when, three days in, the YJ, Phantom and Red Huntress get portaled to an unknown destination, with strange and unknown life(?) forms, with no supplies, no working communicators, and worst of all, no way back.

What’s going on here? World War Three?
THE BASICS;;
NAME: Lois Joanne Lane FC: Constance Wu AGE: 38 GENDER: Female PRONOUNS: She/her SEXUALITY: Bisexual SPECIES: Human BIRTHDAY: August 17, 1982 AFFILIATIONS: United Nations ABILITIES:  Lois has no powers to speak of, but she isn't helpless. As the daughter of a military man, Lois knows how to defend herself. She's known basic self defense since she was a child and is able to use a number of firearms (though her aim is certainly something to work on). She carries pepper spray around with her almost everywhere she goes and won't hesitate to act in self defense if the situation calls for it. Aside from physically, she's adept at defending herself from written and verbal attacks as well. Over the years, she's gotten many scathing assaults for her work and has always returned the favor in kind.
BIOGRAPHY;;
The oldest daughter of General Sam Lane, Lois and her little sister Lucy grew up all across the country. She learned to defend herself from her father and from a young age she was an independent and outspoken person. Moving to Metropolis when she was nineteen, Lois attended college and went straight into her chosen career- reporting. Employed by the Daily Planet, she soon rose up in her community with a good reputation of well-crafted, well-planned, and well-researched articles, many of which focused on corruption within the city limits. It was early on in her career when she was awarded a Pulitzer Prize, and the winning article has been framed in her office ever since.
 Soon enough, a mysterious flying hero in red and blue descended upon Metropolis and began saving the city from crime both petty and super in caliber. Lois was the first reporter to get an interview with the man, publishing an article referring to him as 'Superman'- the first mention of the name in public record. Lois soon became the leading reporter on Superman as she seemed to always be involved when something went awry and was the most likely to get a comment out of the Man of Steel.
 Around the same time as Superman's arrival, a man by the name of Clark Kent was hired by the Planet and Lois was the one to show him the ropes. From there, the two of them grew close as friends and partners, working in tandem to bring the truth to light.
Lois found herself on-site during the Chitauri Invasion and provided a series of comprehensive and positive articles detailing the work of the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Teen Titans during the event. This thrust her even further into the world of superhero-related politics and after this, most of her work centered around what was happening in their world. Soon after this, she began a relationship with Clark Kent and later that year discovered he was secretly Superman. After the death of Maxwell Lord, Lois was one of Wonder Woman's firmest defenders.
Lois reported heavily on the events in Sokovia and later on the Accords released by the UN, becoming one of the loudest voices against them. She and Clark disagreed over the matter and so they broke up after he signed. Lois denied any knowledge of Superman's secret identity and released a series of scathing articles to trash both Clark and the UN in a last ditch attempt to rally against the Accords.
After Superman was shot down at the DC riots, Lois quit her job and got herself hired as a PR worker for the UN. Through a series of clues and rapid promotions, she's been drawn to Sokovia where she'll hopefully sniff out the truth and put an end to the horrors the Accords have wrought.
HEADCANNONS;;
Lois is a very touchy person with those she likes being around! She likes to nudge people, shove them, sometimes punch them on the shoulder. She gives hugs easily, doesn't hesitate to provide physical comfort if asked, and if she'll lean against those she's sitting next to.
She's afraid of heights! Even when Clark took her flying and she knew for a fact he'd never let her fall, she was still terrified. Still, she's mostly managed to get over it and will swallow her discomfort without even thinking about it.
Lois will stress-eat all the time. She's not very proud of this, but when the time calls for it she can down an entire tub of ice cream in one sitting and need to go back for something else to munch on. When she doesn't have actual food, she stress-chews and has ruined many pens without realizing because she chews on them. She's also had pens explode in her mouth before.
Lois wrote the first article declaring Metropolis' new hero as Superman. She has a copy of it framed on her wall alongside the article that won her a Pulitzer.
Be it a strong sense of Metropolis pride or a bias towards heroes with a brighter aura, Lois has always hated Batman. She thinks he's terrifying and a bad example of what superheroes should be. Her opinion on the matter is very clear, as she has written about it many times before. On the contrary, she's always thought highly of more 'open' heroes, such as Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Captain America, etc.
Yuán Li is Lois’ birth name, but Lois Lane is her English name
