i hate how commodity and capitalism has ruined so much storytelling . i hate how sequels and prequels and whatever else all ring like merch sales; i hate that i as an author have to include any social media following i have as a marketable trait; i hate that everything feels like a xerox of a copy of a dream of a memory.
i hate that my nostalgia has been turned into profit. i hate that companies fear consumer backlash so no real commentary may be made; i hate that companies care more about quantity over quality. i hate that so many artists and creators are being overworked to the point of complete collapse rather than being allowed to tell the story their way. i hate that every point of representation has to be fought for. i hate it i want us all to go back to living in a cave .
when you sit with friends over a bonfire and the night is getting long and people start telling this slow, almost hypnotic story - in this quiet voice, like they don't expect you to listen while they say the most fucked up shit you've ever heard - that is storytelling. who cares if the punchline is car hand hook door. storytelling has always been about community, about us all sitting in the dark, choosing to fill the silence while the last embers are dying. we forgot that storytelling is spellwork. hallucinating together, our breaths held, waiting for the ending we already knew was coming.

On the "darker" side of being comforted by one's immortality (not in the physical, but metaphorical), I've always been comforted by bone needles.
The idea that even after death, you've still been remembered by how you are used. No, bone needles probably weren't used with human bones, but it's a reminder that you aren't just going to... disappear. I'm comforted in the knowledge that I don't end in a "me" but in a "we," in nature. Everything about me is reused material so much more ancient than I am, and knowing that, I feel so much closer to the world.

Y'all, if you wouldn't reblog from someone with a swastika icon (and why would you do that), then don't reblog from someone with a hammer and sickle icon. It's really that simple.
I know it's tempting, as people who have never lived under the USSR, to assume that everything you learned about the horrors that happened behind the Iron Curtain was just capitalist propaganda, but as someone whose family lived it? It was worse than what high school social studies taught you.
The hammer and sickle is a symbol of state terror. Of genocide. Of bigotry. Of too many abuses to list. It's a symbol drenched in fear and blood and pain.
And it's not a symbol that you can reclaim. We, the survivors and descendants of the communist bloc, are the ones who decide whether we can turn it into a symbol of resistance, and we have decided: no. The wounds are too raw and the fear is too deep.
To the people actually affected by the hammer and sickle, it is still a symbol of violence. Put it down. Leave it be. Let us recover.

Endless influx of information prohibits freedom of imagination, and seeks conformity of thought
All these painful noises blind you, and
Now it even infringes on freedom of thought
All the controversy incessantly
Triggers confusion in judgment uh
Really, what is it exactly that’s been restricting us?
Maybe we do it to ourselves
Slaves to capitalism, slaves to money
Slaves to hatred and prejudice
Slaves to YouTube, slaves to flexin’
Selfishness and greed have gone off the rails
I close my eyes and it's easy, it’s all so obvious
Opinions clearly split depending on what's to gain
Everyone's been blinded by envy and jealousy
Without realizing that they're putting shackles on each other
THAT !!
Go stream!!!

Don’t fucking act like u gave a shit about Pakistan. Don’t act like an activist now. The way you’re so incredibly performative it’s actually delusional.
i never said i was an expert or some kind of political activist - you don’t have to be an expert to just be aware of other things going on in the world? Like you can just watch the news every couple weeks and still be somewhat aware of things happening in the world around you? Or you could just literally google it and it’s right there. I’m not exactly digging in the trenches for info here just to see basic facts over the state of our world
also maybe you should do some self reflection on why people saying that billionaires/millionaires shouldn’t exist in our world inspires such vitriol in you. Do you think you’re gonna be a millionaire one day? Do you think they would care about you in the same way you are defending them? Do you think they would shell out money if you were stuck in a tube in the bottom of the ocean? Or would they just say “aww that’s too bad” and go back to their dinner party? are you sure you’re not the delulu one?

Just had a Zionist follow me on here and had to block. Don’t know why the fuck they thought this was a safe place for their bigotry, especially given that the last thing I reblogged on here was a video of a genderfluid hijabi muslim sharing their favourite hijab styles.
Now let me make this perfectly clear, because I am only going to say this once. I am against antisemitism in every form. I am against Islamophobia in every form. I am against racism in every form. Against homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, classism, and fat-phobia in every form. This is supposed to be my side blog for fun shit and just really anything else I care about. My main blog is now solely dedicated to Palestine.
I STAND FULLY WITH PALESTINE. 🇵🇸
And if you don’t like anything I just wrote…
GET THE FUCK OFF MY BLOG

Actually I'm completely over "save the bees." Save the wasps. Save the mosquitoes. Save the ticks. Grow enough to comprehend the value of life is not contingent on the amount of potential inconvenience an animal causes you. Native wildlife should not need to justify its existence in its own environment.
