kid hit my car this morning while I was parking for work and he looked fucking terrified coming up to me despite the fact that he was like 6’3 💀 he kept apologizing and it genuinely seemed like this was the first time something like this had ever happened to him cause he looked 2 seconds away from bursting into tears 😭

luckily it was just some scratches so I told him not to stress about it cause I’m not abt to give him a mental breakdown over something that I could literally paint over and he was like “are you sure?? are you positive??” and I was like “yeah dude it’s not like my rear bumper’s falling off, no worries!!” and he looked like he was abt to drop to his knees from relief he really said “god bless you” 😭😭😭

#he didn’t look more than 18 #when he hit me I looked back and saw him literally gripping the wheel losing his mind #and by that I mean he was literally recreating the jack Chambers car scene IM NOT KIDDING #if I hadn’t been terrified (it was before I got out to Assess The Damage) I would’ve laughed DJFNWJDJJE #I was really like ughhh I don’t wanna have to deal with insurance rn cause I’ve never been in an accident either #and I was already running behind so I’m glad the universe took pity

not really a vent but i guess i just need to get used to how tumblr works

ngl my main feels so lifeless lately. i’m not talking about my mutuals and regulars in my notifications (i am grateful that you all still tolerate me! i love you!), but it’s still maybe like 1/100 of my followers. it really shows that even if i used to post 2-3 times a week, as soon as i stopped doing that — most lost interest. it’s like starting from zero despite the large following. rip to the deleted fics that blew up and got me a few k notes, because i suppose they were bringing active users to my blog lol

#i’m not talking about likes and reblogs — it was never about it and i don’t really want big numbers #that’s why i’ve been feeling so restless about my follower count!! it feels so scary to me… but it’s quiet #even my inbox… it’s empty most of the time (again — not counting mooties!)#it just feels strange because i really just used to get 1:1 ratio of mutuals asks and anon hate lol #and so many people rarely look if someone takes requests or no — and yet no one sent me anything by an accident lol #i mean… to summarise — i feel the dissonance between my number of followers and the actual interactions #because i could have maybe like 40 followers like here on my side and it would be the same #—talks.

i <3 uni group chat we’re so fun last night the topic was our favorite artworks with additional commentary today it’s tiktok and genuine human connection i still can’t believe i have a solid friend group at uni so strange so lovely

#it’s just that i’ve had very tight knit very close friend group for years and never felt the need to form close friendships outside of them #and if i did meet someone and started genuinely loving them it was always on accident and i figured that i’ll be somewhat lonely for #the rest of uni especially because i’ve been so overworked and hungry for the entirety of the first semester and now i have genuine #friendships with people i see every day and it came to be so naturally it really is wonderful to be surrounded by people who care and who #genuinely like you and whom you actually like spending time with #keep in mind there’s like 1200 people in first year and it feels really alienating

kaeya was a little traumatised kid who probably came from a community that dealt w their collective trauma in a predictably grim way as well which is why i think when he was taken in by crepus he absolutely had the energy of strange quirky little girl for who it’ll become painfully obvious later was nd/traumatised and didn’t understand social conventions and what is developmentally normal/appropriate for them to know but for the moment is Definitely brushed off as “haha don’t worry abt him, he’s just a little quiet and odd for now bc hes in a new n strange environment!”

#x #gi posting #i think it’s time to accept i project more of my personal experiences onto kaeya than i wanted to originally admit #BUT LIKE I THINK IT MAKES SENSE #especially w all the instances where as an adult where he’s been accused of reacting in a way that comes off as cold or rude or inappropriat #(eg when he’s in battle or when crepus died and he was said to have smiled/laughed)#it makes SENSE that his sense of this stuff would be a little skewed/off. that maybe he’s a little more ruthless than the pampered kids his #age he meets in mondstadt or that he has a gallows humour style of coping w uncomfortable topics #also i’ve been vaguely learning a lot abt developmentally appropriate behaviour for kids #recently and one of them was abt them testing out the waters of what they’re allowed to do vs not #and that’s why u see them sometimes do things you know are wrong/that might Seem malicious or bad but it’s just them like. becoming aware of #the world they’re interacting with and learning stuff like what natural consequences are and also especially how their guardians will react #and like obviously this is all for significantly younger kids/toddlers and i don’t think kaeya was taken in that young by crepus #but i’m applying the same principal in that he’s in a new environment and probably was involved several ‘accidents’ or random things over th #years where it was just him poking and pushing and tearing boundaries of what he would be allowed #and sometimes if he was caught n it was something possibly mean/cruel it was never so much for the sake of that. just that he #wanted to Test and see what happened #GAUGH am i making sense i’m always so jumbled when i write things out when in my head i’m like YES. genius #😭😭😭

Step one of homebrewing my 3DS: Oh right, since I have a backup system after some oddly terrible luck (including “unexpected torrential rain and a bag that wasn’t remotely waterproof resulting in a bricked system,”) my SD card has two different IDs so I need to follow those steps.

And before that, I’m backing everything up. For obvious reasons.

#I have no idea how I’ve had such bad luck with 3DSes #every other system - including handhelds I similarly took with me everywhere - has never been so accident prone #but yeah uh. having a backup has proven a reasonable precaution
