To answer the question of @shewhoeatssand, here are my ships for the neki. My fav are Amoneki (due to their dynamics) and HideKane (the ship by proxy, also because Kuroneki is my fav)

AriHaise is also ship by proxy because my friend is a huge fan. You can already guess what blog caused the ReaperEto. And KingNeki x Touka for the endgame but I don't really have much thoughts about them, just like "oh they're canon"

And bonus Sasako x blue haired Touka because smh I prefer HaiseTou to KaneTou and Touka has big bisexual lean female energy to me so

The two ships that I acknowledge but not really care for is KaneRize and Shuuneki, mostly because their dynamics are not my thing.

Amoneki and Shuuneki for ship bingo? 🤔

You know not the snake pit you have just poked with a stick. I'll start with Amoneki because I can be normal about that.

The thing about Kaneki ships, is that I do not really care enough about him outside of selective interpretations to care who people pair him with. However, I can say with relative confidence that I enjoy this. It makes me feel kinda fuzzy, not in the brainrot way, just every time I try to think of the scenarios to put them in my brain turns to mush and I go "mmm. ghoul." Unlike most of my ships I do not want them to suffer profusely but I would not complain about a good angst fic.

Then next Shuuneki.

oh god.

I have mentioned that seeing Shuu Tsukiyama was the event pulled me into reading Tokyo Ghoul, but Shuuneki is what kept me here. I can't stress how much I used to think about them. I think I stalked this place for a solid month before I posted any drawings just digging as far as I could through the tag and examining fanfiction and you know what? Most of it was terrible two dimensional nonsense. I only found a couple that I genuinely thought were well-written. Most of the art I've liked was from one artist. They have a genuinely really interesting dynamic but they're also really easy to turn into soupy, weird nonsense. Anyways if anyone knows any genuinely good content of them please share, trying to look for content of this ship really is rather like digging through a trashbin. And yet I think about them a LOT. I would love to talk about them more.

btw I’m @rizeenthusiast, this is my main :)

1) Shuuneki, but it HAS to be written a certain way. Preferably with Shironeki since a) he’s my favourite and b) I don’t see why Kuroneki or Haise would agree to date Shuu since Kuro would take everything Shuu does platonically and be too oblivious to Notice The Signs, while Haise wouldn’t be able to get to know Shuu too well since he’s manipulated to prioritize his work more than anything outside of it. Shiro however would probably date Shuu if he found it beneficial to him in some way and I think they could bring out the worst in eachother if they became more comfortable together. Bond over violence yk

2) Amoneki - I don’t post about them much (tbf I don’t post about anything) but every fic I’ve ever read of them has included an “omg he’s so small” from Amon and I think that’s hilarious and adorable. Any Kaneki pre-Reaper would work for this one, I saw a really cute Human Kaneki slurping ramen with Amon once and aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!💕💕💕💕💕 SUPER cute. Closest thing to a comfort ship

3) Hidekane! this is mainly because of some really good fics I’ve read (cough cough Pathetic Fallacy changed my whole opinion of this ship). Hide is so Silly and Kaneki is so Oh No Please Don’t Do That and they understand eachother on such a deep level and realistically I don’t think anyone else would ever be able to do that with Kaneki. If we cast aside my reading and aesthetic preferences this is probably the Superior TG Ship because of how close they are together in canon so they can respond to eachother accordingly.

Exam season is finally over!!!! Time for asks :3

How I feel about this character: despite the fact he's one of the most central and talked about characters I've never really put too much thought into him. I find his backstory and his relationship with religion really hit me in the gut. As someone with a rough relationship with religion myself, seeing his faith only grow stronger was just 👌👌👌

All the people I ship romantically with this character: seiakimon is my top ship for him. You simply cannot overpower the force of all 3 of them. I also quite liked Amoneki as the opportunity for angst and symbolism is just so good.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Hide! I find the dynamic between them really interesting and funny in a lot of ways.

My unpopular opinion: ummm don't really have one sorry

One thing I wanted to more of: I wanted to see more of his relationship with faith how it expands beyond donato's teachings or his past. What it truly means for him.

OTP:Seiakimon or nothing baby

Cross over ship: ummmmmmmm yeah sorry I got nothing I'm so bad at this

A headcanon fact: he sings really loud in the shower. He doesn't realise just how loud he sings until Akira stays over whilst he's in the shower. It's usually opera too.

touka's too aro for me to ship her romantically, but i like queerplatonic touriko and her being nishikimi's +1 or something (early :re touka, and of course still in a qplatonic sense)

as for our dear protag, it depends on the version lmao: kuroneki: shuuneki, qp kanerize (rize's too aro), tsukikanerize (listen.), matsuneki (yeah, shush.) - shironeki: shuuneki (in a huh. very specific way), qp amoneki (amon's too aroace) - haise: qp/soft-romo amonhaise - black reaper: furuneki (r-anarchy), etokane (? is that their name?) tldr my main kaneki ship is shuuneki (og exclusive - potentially up to haise)

Not my thing, but I can see the appeal! They trust each other in the same way Phoenix and Edgeworth trust each other. They fight on opposite sides to get to the same goal and need that push and pull to get there, to see every side of the story
