pokemon legends arceus au where rei (ill be using rei just cause thats who i played as but it works with akari too) was transported back to hisui Much Younger and, seeing as how he gets along so easily with pokemon right from the start, is seen as an ominous omen for jubilife village (let alone the whole falling from the sky bit dont ask me how baby rei got outta that unscathed)
cyllene and laventon end up watching over him but theyre both super busy with their own work that he ends up getting ostracized from the village. at some point baby rei is left unsupervised and wanders away and ends up getting lost and ends up befriending a hisuian zorua
h!zorua is super confused by this child who has no issue with it and hisuian zoroark comes up for its kid and sees the strange human child with it
h!zoroark is obvs wary at first but h!zorua is pretty attached so him plus he doesnt have the same fear / malice / etc that most humans have towards not only its kind but also pokemon in general so it lets the two play
when no one comes to find rei then h!zoroark gets suspicious and lets them play, disguises themselves as a human and goes into the village, finds out that rei’s really treated like shit by all the superstitious people! it makes the decision right then and there that rei is now its kit and adopts him
yes this is all for feral rei, once hes about 15 he wears the baneful fox mask whenever hes out on his own and at one point runs into akari which is where the plot of the game would start about
all of his pokemon arent in pokeballs, theyre just ones hes befriended and earned the trust of with the exception of the starter youre given but even then he barely keeps that in its ball either

People Don't Change People, Time Does :: The Wombats :: Fix Yourself, Not the World (2022)
At last - done! This song is absolutely the theme song of the Stalled Recovery AU, btw
The battle with Volo is particularly traumatizing to Akari in this AU for.. reasons. It takes her a very, very long time to come to terms with it... It was a good thing Ingo showed up, to put it mildly

The cain instinct is strong with this one.
Just a simple fluff until I start getting into the trauma again, lol. In my AU Dawn learned how to battle from watching Ingo in the battle subway, this include inheriting some quirks when it comes to double battles.

I have a mini submas au in my head where after ingo's disappearance, they hired a new guy to essentially fill ingo's spot so the battle subway can keep running. Everyone low-key hates their guts for what they represent but they know they need them there.

More uncle submas and nephew Drayton (featuring Blanc) because I love their dynamic.
Slight headcannon but I imagine being partially raised by pokemon is a pretty common thing. With the amount of protags only having one parental figure, I imagine sometimes they'd need some help taking care of the kids. Since pokemon can be pretty intelligent and some of them have been partner pokemon with the parent since childhood, so they're pretty trusted.
So basically, Drayton can go around saying "oh that's my spider mum" at Blueberry academy and it would be a normal sentence.
Also fun fact, Drayton can't tell the twins apart out of uniform. I personally imagine Ingo and Emmet have very different fashion tastes out of uniform but sometimes they like to dress the same to test their loved ones. Drayton fails every time. Don't judge him, I'm an adult and sometimes I can't tell my twin dad and uncle apart.
Also, yeh, Blanc would adopt Kieran if she could. That boy needs some help and it's coming in the form of a clingy mum spider. She'll treat him right. Why is she at Blueberry academy? I imagine the twins would visit Drayton sometimes. They're good uncles.
It took a while for the joltiks to warm up to Drayton. Until they realised he's just a giant joltik and accepted him as their own.
Also, yes, if you could translate what Emmets joltik are saying, they would all speak in train lingo. They don't understand it fully but it's all they know.

HELLO HI
God I love the Submas fandom, all of you are so nice <3
In any case, I have a silly Au for y'all to munch on.
Allow me to introduce you all to Covalent Twins :]
Tumblr media
Covalent
Adjective
- Relating to or denoting chemical bonds formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms.
Or in this case, the sharing of Emmet between 2 Ingos from different timelines NSNDNNDDD.
This Au is essentially the answer to the question: "doesn't being sent to the distant past inherently mean you are also now long dead in the future you just left?"
The answer is yes and no btw
The explanation for this involves a lot of time nonsense that I'm very bad at explaining but the Tldr is basically this:
When Ingo gets sent to the past, this creates a connection between the past and the future. This makes time get all fucky and split into two separate timelines (Timeline A and Timeline B)
Timeline A:
Time in this timeline runs parallel to the future as long as Ingo stays within it (essentially, if Ingo stays in the past for 2 years, then 2 years pass in the present).
Due to this connection, Akari (aka Dawn) gets sent to this timeline (But not Timeline B) and the game events of PLA play out (+ a lot more Ingo bonding because uncle Ingo supremacy)
Akari manages to get her and Ingo sent back home with the power of Arceus, causing both timelines to merge back together again into one cohesive line with only the events of Timeline B being remembered by history.
Ingo and Emmet get their happy ending.
This Ingo got sent to Hisui when he was 29, stayed there for 2 years, and went home when he was 31.
And Timeline B:
This timeline was created as a cannon fodder timeline so Akari and Ingo can keep doing time shenanigans in Timeline A without disturbing the space time continuum even more.
This timeline is therefore not connected to the future the same way Timeline A is.
The Ingo of this timeline (Nicknamed "War" or "Warden" for simplicity.) lives through the PLA game events but with Rei taking the place of Akari.
War doesn't bond with him the same way Ingo does with Akari because Rei isn't a faller.
The events of the game are the exact same (minus the Arc phone, Rei taking the place of Akari, and catching Arceus).
Despite Rei calming the nobles and catching Palkia and Dialga, he is still not the chosen hero. Warden is unable to go home or regain his memories.
Warden lives in Hisui and serves as a warden for the Pearl Clan for a total of 7 years before dying alongside his partner pokemon, Gliscor (nicknamed Nimbasa), while protecting Lady Sneasler from a Zoroark attack at the age of 36.
Warden drifts as a ghost for many years, with only Nimbasa the Gliscor as company. He watches his friends grow old, and eventually die. They pass on to the afterlife, but Warden stays on earth, wandering the Alabaster Icelands and Mount Coronet, searching for people from a life he can't remember even in death.
Warden watches as Hisui changes into Sinnoh. Jubilife Village becomes Jubilife City. Pokemon species die out and new ones are born.
As the world slowly becomes more and more familiar, the great Sinnohs, Palkia and Dialga, take pity on the lost warden, and decide together to lead him home.
It may take 150 years, and many miles of travel, but Warden is pulled by an unknown force towards the Unova region. Though he is unable to touch anything or speak to anyone, it's all so painfully familiar.
He is pulled towards Nimbasa city, (ah! That's where he got the name from!) and eventually to an apartment.
There, he is greeted by a young girl, barely 17. A man in black, who looks exactly like him, give or take a few years and a few scars.
And a smiling man in white. The man he has been searching for for over 150 years...
And they're staring at him, truly staring at him, not through him.
Why is the man in white crying?
*evil laughter.mp3*
So yeah! The twins have an older brother now :D
I mean he's dead and also Ingo just 5 years older and from a different timeline but still!!!
If you've made it this far I believe you deserve a gold star ⭐ and also some art for your troubles.
So here's War and Nimbasa ↓
Tumblr media
And some fluffy interaction between War and Emmet as a bandaid.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you guys have any questions regarding how this Au works, or are interested in seeing more of it, don't hesitate to shoot me an ask :D
I hope I enjoyed reading about my silly Au, even if it was a bit long lol.
*fades back into the void of Submas fics.*

since @thelemonsnek posted the comic they did for this au I figured now is a good time to post this! AU details under the cut :>
Ingo got eeby deebied still. not to ancient Hisui, just a museum dedicated to Hisui! he still has amnesia
He works night security. Like the movie, the whole place comes to life at night. why does it do this? why was Ingo involved? idk it’s not important this is a silly au first and foremost
his “warden band” is from the gift shop. Lady Sneasler has decided he’s her warden now because she’s the only noble with no warden in the museum. she kept stealing the actual warden band from her display to give to Ingo. Ingo still isn’t sure how she was opening the case with her claws
Akari is there, and she’s Dawn. she snuck in at night on a dare early in her journey, got caught and gave a fake name, and then kept coming back to visit because a) cool haunted(?) museum, b) as the whole Galactic mess went down, it became nice to have someone who didn’t know her for that. she may have reverse adopted Ingo as her uncle
yes, Ingo is unaware of who Akari really is. he’s BAD at keeping up with current events
he doesn’t have his full hisuian team, but he has a Magneton and Kadabra, they’re good for fending off the museum “pokemon” without actually damaging them. he also has Gligar but doesn’t get a chance to battle with it much
Volo is still a villain. he’s causing the “frenzies” that Akari and Ingo work together to fix. he’s trying to meet Arceus to end his “cursed, half-life existence”. He’s the only person in the museum who views their lives like that, literally everyone else is chill with it. He does have actual Giratina under his command
theres a few versions of Ingo and Emmet’s reunion we came up with but my personal favourite is “Emmet breaks in to steal the azure flute to meet Arceus to get Ingo back, gets caught. By Ingo.”

Friendship Smells like Pizza and Laundry Detergent
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a little short story about @critterbitter's hc of Emmet, Ingo, and Elesa. Please go take a look at Critter's work, it is beautiful in every sense of the word.
Japanese is not my native language, so if I've made any errors please let me know. Also, I'm sorry for the phonetic spelling for Clay in advance.
Don't like to read on Tumblr? Read it here on AO3.
Enjoy!~
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonight was the night.
Elesa was coming over for a sleep over.
Drayden would have found it amusing that his nephews were running all around his house preparing for their friend’s arrival, but they were quite particular about how they wanted the house to look, and it was turning his house upside down. Already the linen cupboard and beds were ransacked for every sheet, blanket, comforter, and pillow that he owned. All around him, the boys meticulously constructed a pillow fort, and it took every ounce of willpower in his body to ask them not to make such a mess of his living room.
He sucked it up. They were excited their friend was coming over – their only friend.
Listening to Ingo’s meandering request to have their friend over for a sleep over, Drayden could tell this meant a lot to them. Even Emmet, who was hard pressed to pipe up his opinions to him was bobbing his head along in time with his brother’s speech and offered stilted yeps to emphasize his brother’s points, eyes glittering with such hope that it physically pained the Dragon master to say no.
“Verrrrry good!”
Emmet chirped, crawling out by the tv, which also had a sheet over it. They had tried to put a quilt over it and Drayden pointedly told them no. Although not the newest model by a long shot (he hadn’t been able to be as frivolous with his money since his nephews had been dumped come to live with him), he didn’t want to risk the television falling over and breaking, or worse injuring one of the kids. Emmet and Ingo were exceedingly careful with everything in the house, they treated everything like glass with a steady mantra of ‘safety first’ that he was sure would be seared into his brain for the remainder of his days.
With this one exception, the twins frequently kept to themselves and their own possessions, either roaming his property, Anville Town, or in the woods just outside town. This brief and altogether understandable lapse of judgement Drayden could overlook – just this once.
“Ingo, are the snacks secured?”
“Affirmative!”
Ingo moved into his periphery with an armload of bags, ducking beneath the patchwork fort to deposit them, and the other was bouncing on the balls of his feet, working out his excitement through movement. Drayden watched this all go down from his armchair that he had dragged out of the way for them to build, steely eyes glancing over the top of his drooping newspaper every so often. The boys surveyed their work, beaming in their own ways at the admittedly impressive arrangement.
“Please try not to spill anything on to the carpet.”
Their uncle rumbled and they both assured him that that would not happen. They had already planned for any accidents by retrieving a towel and handheld vacuum to clean up any messes that were inadvertently created.
“We shan’t.”
Ingo promised and Drayden grumbled something unintelligible behind the rag, staring at the same article he’d been reading about the delays for the new rail lines out of Nimbasa. Something about permits and a minor scandal with the head of transportation using Pokémon laborers that weren’t native to Unova.
Warm weight settled against his legs and Drayden lowered the paper to his lap, narrowly avoiding Emmet and Ingo as they stared up at him. He braces himself because he knows this look – although it was not presented in this double whammy form – and it usually came with an out of the ordinary request.
“Yes?”
“We would like to request three pizzas tonight because we are not sure if Elesa will like the toppings we like.”
Drayden had to bite his tongue because nobody liked the toppings the twins liked. Most children didn’t like white pizza with broccoli or Alolan style – but Emmet and Ingo did.
“You’re not going to eat three pizzas worth of pizza. It’s bad for you.” Not to mention all the junk food that they bought in preparation for the sleepover. They’re kids Drayden, he told himself, they’re excited and their eyes are literally bigger than their stomachs in this case.
Compromise.
“I’ll get you some personal pizzas. How does that sound?”
They looked positively ecstatic.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bedraggled looking man who escorted his young daughter to his door had a glassy look to his eyes, waving to his daughter as she offered Drayden a polite bow and foreign greeting to Drayden before tearing over to Emmet and Ingo. Her Blitzle tottered in after her cautiously with a red backpack draped over the Pokémon’s back. If Drayden had to guess from the flared nostrils and the darting eyes, the small equine creature could smell the Druddigon lurking in his room on the second floor and was nervous. His Druddigon was too well trained to attack, but smaller Pokémon tended to get nervous around most dragons.
“Thank you for having my daughter over.”
Drayden had almost forgotten the man was there, so small and quiet as to be completely unnoticeable. His voice was flat, almost toneless, which reminded Drayden of Emmet, who had a hard time conveying his emotion through his words unlike his brother. This man sounded exhausted.
“Sure…”
There was an uncomfortable pause as the man blinked at him, Drayden almost thought he wouldn’t supply his name – instead, just pass out in his doorway.
“Rin Kamitsure.”
“Drayden Gray.”
Rin’s torso was already bending forward, clearly a reflex he had developed from a lifetime of practice before he jerked to a stop. His arm lurched up, perfectly straight to the point of looking uncomfortable, holding out his hand and staring expectantly for Drayden to take it.
The handshake was cold, absolutely nothing friendly to the stiff fingers, and went on for far too long, neither of them seemed capable of breaking the shake first.
“さようならお父さん.”
Rin’s daughter’s voice sounded flinty, almost as though she was annoyed that he was still there. If her father noticed the chill to her voice, he didn’t acknowledge it, although Drayden guessed he most certainly did not from the slow way he let go of the Dragon master’s hand.
“Bye Ellie.”
He nodded to Drayden and trudged back up the walkway and down the street. When he turned around to face the children, Emmet and Ingo were thumbing through some books while the girl scribbled feverishly on a whiteboard. With her tongue stuck between her teeth, she was scribbling symbols that were unfamiliar to Drayden with careful strokes of the marker before her hands moved in a flurry before her. That he recognized as sign. The boys had been practicing together. This girl must have been the reason.
The signing was actually helping his nephews a lot, each had their own unique challenges with how they communicated with the world around them, and signing was helping them bring a different option for verbalizing their thoughts and feelings. Emmet in particular was fast to pick it up, his lack of inflection was made up for by his expressive features, which helped emphasis his signing. Ingo’s language was emotional from the word go, but his face was like stone, that’s where his gesticulations and other body language helped him articulate his sign better.
Drayden never could read either unless they told him how they felt. It also didn’t help that the brothers were so in sync with one another that they often left their uncle metaphorically scrambling to catch up to understand them.
“Oh! Elesa, you must meet our uncle.” Ingo insisted, ushering her over to him where she bowed again. Her face scrunched and she glanced toward his nephews, Emmet silently mouthing the words ‘hello sir’ while Ingo announced that this was their goof friend Elesa. “She moved here recently with her father from Sinnoh.”
“Hello… sir?”
She said slowly, watching Emmet mouth the words one more time, before looking up at Drayden. Most children found him intimidating between his stature and inscrutable expression, but this little girl looked him in the eye with nothing short of fierce determination. She refused to be intimidated. That made him smile.
“Nice to meet you.”
Ingo frantically flipped through the pages of the book still in his hand and squinted at the page – dear Reshiram, was Ingo going to need glasses soon? Yet another thing to add to the ever-growing list of things he didn’t sign up for but found himself doing. The text was inches from his nose,
“はじめまして.”
It must have been a translation into Kantonese and Elesa gingerly corrected his pronunciation. Drayden had prepared to get virtually no sleep tonight because the kids would be loud, but it appeared he had nothing to worry about.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Their uncle said he would be in his study if they needed anything after ordering their pizzas for the kids and Bouffalant burger for himself. He handed Ingo some money to tip the driver and reiterated to be careful with any food and drinks on the carpet.
Ingo offered him a smile, something that made Drayden’s heart warm a little because that did not always sync up properly with his eyes to make the expression seem so genuine. He truly wished he felt that way more often, but that kernel of resentment he felt for Kaita and Lucielle – especially Kaita. His sister all but dumped her sons on him, their parents too elderly to look after them and Lucielle’s father rendered incapable of care due to dementia.
His burgeoning career nearly came to a screeching halt when Emmet and Ingo were unceremoniously dropped into his life, Drayden was lucky he had such good friends like Clay and Lenora who offered him endless support and advice.
------
“s’not their fault, ye can’t blame ‘em fer what their mas did.”
Clay had told him, taking a long pull on his cigar just as Drayden stamped out his half-smoked cigarette. A habit he had only recently picked up and was not trying too hard to quit. The clove scented smoke soothed his nerves like nothing else could these days.
“Be patient. Kids like them can have a hard time expressing themselves.”
Lenora advised when Drayden came to her with the twins’ charts, panicked because he wasn’t sure he would be able to sufficiently take care of children like Emmet and Ingo. Audiobook and podcast recommendations always arrived in his emails when he felt the weight of the situation suffocating him.
------
He was glad he listened to her because they had bloomed into such wonderful boys.
Although that bitterness was still rooted in his heart, he did his very best to never expose it to Emmet and Ingo, because they had done nothing to earn his ire. It shamed Drayden to no end that sometimes it did come out in the form of hands-off parenting, in his absence where his nephews needed a parent (one which he was never quite prepared to be).
Drayden did the unthinkable and lightly tousled Ingo’s hair, reminding him to get the door when the delivery driver came, and to give the driver their tip. When he removed his hands, Ingo’s eyes were round and shining, his mouth was slightly open as he looked up at his uncle. His nephew managed a nod, lifting his hands to pat his hair, and slowly made his way back to his brother and their friend.
About thirty minutes later their pizzas arrived and all three kids pelted toward the door, lurking just over Ingo’s shoulder like hungry Sharpedo in anticipation. A chorus of ‘thank yous’ sent the delivery driver on her way, grinning a little at the kids as the door closed. With the personal pizzas divvied up properly, the trio clambered into the fort and settled in for the preselected documentary.
Tynamo and Blitzle were under there, already snoozing as the kids ate and watched the screen transfixed with the visuals. Emmet and Ingo had selected a documentary about Unova, selecting Kantonese subtitles for Elesa so she didn’t have to rely on the audio. Although it wasn’t their preference – that was reserved for trains and professional battling – the boys chose this documentary to help acquaint Elesa to the unfamiliar region she found herself in. She didn’t really seem to have an interest in Unova at all, so they wanted to change that.
To them, Unova was the most beautiful place in the whole world, but admittedly, they hadn’t been to many places. Galar sounded amazing, but Emmet and Ingo had to acknowledge that they were biased because there were just so many trains there – so it had to be amazing, right?
They had come to love Unova through the pictures and trinkets that their mothers sent to them. Glass paperweights that contained stylized Frillish suspended in a permanent bubble from Humilau. Frayed ticket stubs from the sports arenas in Nimbasa. Luminous crystals that refracted a thousand tiny rainbows, and still contained a little bit of static hidden in their crystalline depths, from Chargestone Cavern. Pressed flowers and leaves that still smelled as fresh as the day they were picked from Pinwheel Forest. Vibrant, but uncomfortable t-shirts advertising the famous Casteliacone alongside the stand’s Vanilluxe mascot, Mochi.
But their most prized possession? Two slightly tarnished, golden subway tokens with a stamp of the front of Gear Station on one side and the NTA symbol on the other. The transit system operated on automated cards and scanners and digital tickets nowadays, but these? These things were ancient. Mom had found them and sent them back with burgundy lipstick smudged at the bottom by their names.
Found in an antique shop a few blocks from the station. A set soon to follow, my loves.
The train set had never come, so Emmet and Ingo learned to be satisfied with the tokens.
“エモンガ?”
Elesa jerked forward with her eyes wide while she gesticulated at the screen with a ferocity that made the Pokémon wake with a start. Blitzle nickered softly, stretching his neck to rest on Elesa’s knee and nuzzling her skirt until her hand came to stroke his flank absently. Tynamo flitted over to Emmet, tucking himself into the loose collar of his trainer’s sweater and buzzing Emmet with a faint electrical charge.
A pair of Emolga were skittering across the screen; chittering and squeaking while they darted through the trees of Lostlorn Forest without a care in the world at the humans filming them. The next shot cut to two males with their hackles raised and massive incisors displayed in their yawning maws, the smaller one was getting bullied out of the other male’s territory. Another shot took the documentary to a whole tree hollow full of feathery down, fur, leaves, and dry grass with small, glittering black Emolga eyes blinking back at the lens.
Elesa covered her mouth to stifle a little noise of adoration, unwittingly leaning forward with undisguised interest at the flying squirrels that plagued the whole of Unova. Emolga were few and far between in Anville Town compared to the rest of the region, they were more at home in the trees, which their hometown lacked to accommodate the rail yard and its acres of track.
“I… love…”
Elesa said the words slowly, feeling how the Galarian syllables felt in her mouth. It sounded like such a mouth full compared to 好きだ. The name of the Pokémon sat fresh in her mind as she watched them on the screen, so carefree and happy that it made her smile softly with a fondness she thought she only held for Pachirisu.
“エモンガ. Eh- what… is エモンガ?”
Emmet and Ingo exchanged looks, although they didn’t understand Kantonese, and they were at times hard pressed to understand other people’s thoughts and feelings, Elesa was telegraphing all they needed to know with how her blue eyes stared with longing at the screen.
“Emolga.”
Emmet said slowly and watched Elesa incline her head, acknowledging that she had heard him but not looking his way.
“Emolga…”
She repeated the word, drawing out each sound as she heard it from Emmet’s lips. They sat in silence for a moment, the documentary had moved on to Venipedes and their natural instinct to curl up when in danger.
“They’re delightful little scamps.”
Ingo finally said, putting down his slice of pizza on a neat square of paper towel and scratching his cheek, hesitating on even bringing it up when Emmet piped up.
“Mom has one. Her name is Daisy. She likes to groom mom’s Stoutland’s coat. Brutus likes that verrrrry much.”
Ingo pursed his lips, balling his hands up in his lap, waiting for the question that inevitably came up when anyone heard about their mothers. Uncle Drayden rarely spoke about them, only passing off the mail that one or both had sent to their sons. People were curious to say the least when Drayden suddenly had two boys in his home and when their guardian didn’t satisfy their curiosity, it meant Emmet and Ingo were often asked directly.
“Where are your mothers?”
Emmet would stare at the ground, twisting the hem of his shirt in his hands, and Ingo would go unusually quiet, fumbling for words because he didn’t know what to say. Their mothers dropped them off here one day and they hadn’t seen them since, plenty of letters and trinkets, but never their mothers.
They didn’t know why. They tried to be good kids. They tried to be the best kids. They got good grades. They never caused trouble. They always did their chores and took care of the Pokémon.
It must not have been enough for them to stay.
Emmet shifted on the spot, tapping his nails against the plastic cup to fill the silence, and wordlessly murmuring something under his breath. Ingo knew it was the train schedules in and out of the rail yard. Emmet recited them when he said or did something that he didn’t realize was uncomfortable.
If Elesa noticed the weird pause, she didn’t mention anything, but she did say,
“I… want… one. Emolga.”
The moment of tension passed, and the twins felt like they could breathe again. They didn’t know that Elesa felt those same things about parents and had just as hard of a time putting those feelings into words. For now, they didn’t have to talk about it. They didn’t have to do anything, but sit back, eat pizza, and go to sleep late into the night in a castle of blankets that smelled like fresh laundry detergent.
“Have no fear! We will locate a nest and you can catch as many Emolga as you want.”
“Yep yep! A whole team!”
Elesa caught maybe every other word, but her mouth curled and her eyes crinkled at the excited murmurings of her two friends.

So, what are Akari and Ingo's Relationship, bot shipping I mean? Do they have a Adopted Niece and Uncle relationship like most fics portray them as, or is it a Father Daughter Relationship?
I'll be honest I have no idea what bot shipping is...however Ingo basically adopts her as his kid and she also adopts him as her dad. Both clans more or less adopted Akari and while yes they did look out for her and help her a lot, there were things that Ingo noticed that that the others didn't see.
Tumblr media
She is self sufficient but is neglected by the people of Jubilife and many clan members just don't notice some of her struggles. Ingo however saw a lot of himself in her from when he first arrived. Despite being extremely busy he takes the time to teacher her so many things. Everything from hunting to everything he has learned about the land, people, pokemon and it's history.
Tumblr media
He helps her a lot and she knows that even if he isn't there she's always welcome in his home and he greatly enjoys the company.
They also are terrible enablers for each other since they're both battle fanatics. They kinda scare everyone with their pokemon battles and that she insists on fighting against Ingo herself.

Novembmas day 23: Family
Ingo follows Emmet’s lead through the city, then the station. He leans against his shoulder as they ride the train, watching the world pass them by through the window with wide eyes. Unova is so different from Hisui. Sometimes it’s hard to believe he’s really here.
They get off the train in a much smaller city, which Emmet tells him is Opelucid. Apparently, they grew up here, although the sight brings forth no memory. They walk down cobbled streets until they reach a wrought iron gate. Emmet opens it and leads the way up the path.
Ingo feels anxiety beginning to bubble under his skin as they approach the door. He met his uncle and cousin briefly while he was still hospitalized, but he hasn’t seen them since then. He still doesn’t remember them, which he can’t help but feel somewhat guilty about. He knows they must have been very important to him.
Before he has too much time to worry about it, the door opens. Drayden smiles at them, though it’s hard to tell through his sizable beard. “Hello, boys. Please, come inside.” He gestures with one hand, holding the door open for them with the other.
Ingo ducks his head in an informal bow and follows Emmet through the door. “Thank you, sir.”
Drayden’s eyes tighten slightly, but he just shows them to the living room. Ingo sits next to Emmet, close enough that he can lean against his shoulder. He would be surprised if his brother can’t feel the current of anxiety under his skin that’s only gotten stronger. At the very least, he can surely feel the way it makes him twitch when Drayden sits across from them. The silence feels far too heavy for what is supposed to be a nice gathering between family.
Eventually, their uncle breaks the silence. He looks at Ingo. “How have you been feeling?”
“Better.” It’s true. The last time they met, he was extremely disoriented from recently traveling through time and space.
“That’s… good.” Drayden seems unsure what else to say.
“Where’s Iris?” Emmet breaks the awkward tension again.
“Oh, she had an unexpected delay at the gym. She’ll be here soon.”
Emmet just nods in understanding.
A moment later, Drayden suddenly stands. “How about some coffee?”
Emmet smiles. “Yes, please!”
“Ah, um. No thank you.”
Drayden stares at him in open shock. “...Ok. Would you like something else?”
“Tea, if you have it.”
“Alright.”
He leaves the room and Ingo holds back a sigh. He feels like he screwed something up. He didn’t mean anything bad by refusing the coffee. He honestly just doesn’t want a repeat of the first time he tried it. He felt like his heart was going to beat right out of his chest. He lays his head on Emmet’s shoulder and whispers, “what am I doing wrong?”
Emmet knocks his head gently against his. “Nothing. Things are just different. It will take some getting used to, is all.”
Ingo sighs. “You mean, I’m different.”
“Yes.”
Ingo appreciates the brutal honesty, but even so he can’t completely suppress a shiver.
Emmet obviously feels it because he wraps an arm around his shoulders, holding him just a little closer. “It’s alright. That’s not a bad thing.”
He tries to ignore the bubbling mixture of anxiety, gratitude, and shame, choosing instead to just lean against his brother and try not to think at all. It works for about a minute, until he hears the sound of the front door open.
Iris’s voice calls out, “sorry I’m late! Are Emmet and Ingo here yet?”
He hears Drayden moving around in the kitchen, then saying, “yes, they’re in the living room.”
Ingo sits up straight and Emmet lets his arm fall away from him just in time for Iris to appear. She grins brightly and bounds over to them. “Sorry I’m late.”
Emmet stands up so he can hug her. “It’s alright. It’s good to see you.”
Ingo stands too, but hesitates, unsure what to do now. Iris also hesitates, but she steps towards him and cautiously wraps her arms around him. He doesn’t quite know how to feel, but he returns the gesture just as cautiously. Her voice comes out much more quietly now. “I’m really glad you’re back.”
He pats her back awkwardly. “I am too.”
Drayden comes back into the room carrying several steaming cups, which he sets on the table. “We’re all glad you’re back.”
He ducks his head and takes his cup, taking a sip to avoid having to think of anything to say. It’s more bitter than he expects, but he likes the taste. Still, it’s really too hot, so he just holds it for the moment.
Another awkward silence envelops them, but Iris doesn’t let it sit for long. She looks at Ingo and exclaims, “you should battle me!”
There’s a beat of entirely different silence. Shocked. Shaking it off, Drayden pats Iris on the shoulder. “I don’t think that’s-”
“I would love to.” Everyone turns to look at him and Ingo shrinks back in his seat. “I mean… If that’s… allowed.” If he’s being honest, a battle sounds much better than sitting here in awkward silence, but Drayden already started to say no and this is his house. He doesn’t want to overstep.
But Drayden just smiles. “Of course it’s allowed. There’s a practice arena outside.”
Emmet stands and tugs on his arm, pulling him to his feet. “I think that’s a great idea! Let’s go now!”
Ingo allows himself to be pulled along and in moments, they’re out the back door and he’s standing on one side of an arena, facing Iris on the other. He points forward and calls out, “all aboard!”
Iris grins. “I’ll give it everything I’ve got!”
Their battle is fast and explosive. Iris looks surprised when he sends out his partners from Hisui rather than those from before, but he still doesn’t know them well enough to be confident battling alongside them. He ends up winning, but only by a very small margin. Despite her surprise, Iris battles fiercely and her Pokemon are quite powerful. She reminds him a bit of Rei.
When her last Pokemon falls, she grins even wider. “You’re as strong as ever!”
He laughs. “I’ll take your word for it.”
She crosses the battlefield and the other two walk up from the sidelines. Drayden asks, “those are new Pokemon, right?”
He nods. “Yes.”
“Emmet mentioned them. I’m not surprised you’ve trained them so well.”
“I suppose…” Ingo lets his eyes narrow happily. “Some things haven’t changed, then.”
His uncle smiles, understanding in his expression. “More than you may know.”

Another cute parenting prompt:
Imagine Emmet and Cyrus getting a makeover from their daughters. Nails, hair, face, the whole beauty treatment. Once the girls are done - and you’ve managed to stop laughing long enough to breathe - they demand their dads keep the makeup for the rest of the day.
Thankfully Emmet’s work uniform includes gloves and a hat, and Cyrus is intimidating enough that no one’s brave enough to confront him about it.
Erin sees his uncle nonchalantly going around with lipstick and mascara and has questions for Ingo.
Emmet felt trapped when Emma had grasped the gem of his t-shirt that morning. Her big eyes almost glistened with a soft shimmer. He knelt down to her height almost instantly, wanting to know what she wanted. For a moment, her gaze drifted to the floor before it suddenly came back to land on his own. “Please… Play with me and Inka,” her voice was soft and desperate. Emmet's heart ached. Oh, his poor little darlings! He had been so busy lately… Yes, it only made sense that they wished to have some time with him.
He followed Emma into her and Inka's room, where he was then sat on the floor. An awkward smile could only spread across his lips as Inka snatched his hand and started painting his nails a glittery yellow. He just sighed and accepted his fate, even when Emma reappeared with a toy makeup kit that Elesa had got her as a gift. He should have time to wipe it off before he went in to work, so he played along with the girls' attempt to give him a makeover.
In the end, he had blue eyeshadow on mixed with a sparkly pink lip gloss and some mascara that certainly was not paying his eyeshadow any favours. His hair had also been braided while his nails had dried. Both girls seemed to giggle about their work. Emmet just nodded at them happily. But, when he got up to head to the bathroom, Inka caught his shirt this time.
“Papa… You'll wear it today, right?” She asked with an alarming amount of innocence. Emmet's heart raced. He closed his eyes and nodded again. There was simply no way for him to tell them no.
Erin stared, then nearly screamed and ran away when Emmet later took his cap off in the office to start some paperwork. Ingo was bewildered about what had scared him so bad before getting a look at Emmet. He then had to cover his mouth to fight back the laughs that wanted to leave him. The younger twin just glared at him.
~
Cyrus was confused when Cyllene had approached him early one morning before he went to work. He had just been about to style his hair when she opened the bathroom door and peered inside. She was motioned in by him when he had noticed, having become clearly concerned about what had brought her to him. The small girl treaded over to him wordlessly before gripping his pant leg in a familiar manner.
“Father…” she mumbled out quietly, “Will… Will you play with me…?” Cyrus felt his stomach twist. His eyes went to his watch. He had time. Nodding in reply, he allowed the little girl to lead him away to her room. Confusion entered his mind when she had him just sit on the floor. She dug around in her toy drawer for a moment before returning with a bag. He blinked. Did he recognise that bag?
He then realised what it was when a familiar lipstick was fished out from it. Before he had time to chide her for taking something that did not belong to her, she was already trying to apply the colour to his lips. Cyrus felt bewildered as she quickly and neatly made her way through a basic makeup look on his face. She even tried to paint his nails, to which he was amazed by the neatness of her stokes.
Cyllene finished by brushing his hair into a side-swept and taking a step back. Cyrus took the mirror she offered him and gazed at his face in silence. Makeup… Makeup did not exactly compliment his features. Well, at least the style his daughter had committed to. The hair was strangely fine, however. He blinked. There was still time to wash it off. Thanking Cyllene for her efforts, he began to head back to the bathroom to finish getting ready and remove the makeup.
But, the girl had grabbed his leg again. He froze. Her eyes looked far too big when she stared up at him. A reminder that she was a perfect being… “Please, wear it,” she begged. Cyrus felt his blood drain from his face. “Please…” her voice repeated. He could not tell her no.
No one dared say a word around the Galactic HQ when Cyrus entered the building that morning. Everyone just stared for a moment before moving along. Jupiter fought back a grimace when she saw him, her internal makeup artist wanting to wipe it off his face. Mars just went silent and froze. Saturn wanted to laugh but knew better.
(He was probably the one who gave Cyllene the idea.)

What if Rei when he isn’t just posting memes on Ingo’s account he also posts very ominous photos. Just him taking a picture of the broken sky above mount coronet with the caption “the gods are screaming in pain” immediately followed by another post where he goes “anyways this is my amnesia uncle Ingo and his sneasles”
YES rei can literally go from "haha memes" to "everything you know and love is leaving"

“Ingo, you can just wake them up” “But they are quite tired, Miss Irida. I do not wish to disturb them”
“Heh.. Okay. Don’t stay there for too long, sleeping like that can’t be good for anyone’s back”
“I shall keep that in mind”
Or “Uncle Ingo lets his niblings take a well-deserved nap”
This is directly inspired by This Adorable Drawing by @waywardstation and my brain went “Uncle Ingo Nap... But what if.... Nibling Nap???? Yes”
I then proceeded to draw this on a moving train and transferred the lineart to SAI
Rei gets to have shaggy hair as a treat. He deserves it.
ALSO: Should I color this? I genuinely don’t know if I should

50 Fun Facts About Viper!!
"but wait wasn't this going to be 25 fun facts?"
Yes but I wasn't expecting this option to win the poll so I originally lowballed the amount of fun facts
NOW ON TO THE FACTS
1: When I first wanted to participate in Pokemon Roleplay I was originally going to play a different character. She would've been my player character OC from Brilliant Diamond and Legends Arceus. She was the former Sinnoh champion, had a connection with Dialga, was sent to and back from Hisui, and became a Pokemon groomer after experiencing all those horrors and coming back home. I scraped the idea because it felt too "mary sue" and I didn't know if people would be too critical of her or not.
2: Viper was originally an OC before she became a role play character, surprisingly I haven't made too many character changes when deciding to role play as her. Except for her connection with the Subway Bosses, which changed a lot. Originally they were her surrogate uncle figures, but I changed the relationship they had because I wasn't aware if there were any Ingo or Emmet roleplayers. Even after meeting [TAG INGO AND EMMET] I feel like the whole surrogate uncle thing wouldn't work with their current relationship
3: earlier Viper character designs had a lot of Scene and Scenecore influence. However these were scrapped because they looked bad and I hope they never see the light of day
4: Viper has really sharp teeth, similar looking to Iono's. There's no real reason for why they are so sharp other then I thought it looked cool
5: I have never actually played any Gen 5 games. A lot of my knowledge comes from Bulbipedia, my experience with the Gen 5, anime, and my Submas hyperfixation
6: Viper is autistic, because the mod is also autistic
7: Viper's current special interest is Poison types. But when she was a kid she had a train and Subway Masters special interest, and after that she had a botany special interest.
8: Viper currently lives in Virbank, but she was born and raised in Nimbasa and spent some time living in Driftveil
9: when Viper lived in Ninbasa she befriended a Trubbish who she would eventually reunite with. This Trubbish became Viper's ace Buttercup the Garbodor
10: Viper's Mom is a Flouriest and her Dad was a mechanic at Gear Station but he has since retired
11: Viper was bullied a lot as a child
12: Viper's parents divorced when she was in middle school. She chose to move with her mom in Driftveil
13: Viper is a Highschool drop out
14: Viper started her Pokemon Journey because of her Mom insisting that "if you're gonna drop out of school you might as well become a trainer". She even called Professor Juniper to send a Snivy as a starter. This was how she met Oleander the Serperior
15: Viper really likes camping, it makes her nostalgic for her times traveling Unova doing the gym challenge
16: Viper had two pokemon on her gym challenge team that are she no longer owns, they're Stamp the Swoobat and Dribble the Vaporeon. They were donated to Professor Juniper a little after she started working at the Virbank Gym.
17: Dribble was caught in Castelia as an eevee roaming the streets
18: Stamp was caught as a woobat on Reversal Mountan
19: Viper never grew out of her admiration for the Subway Bosses, she's just better at hiding it now.
20: Viper only caught a Litwik and a Joltik because they're prominent pokemon on Ingo and Emmet's teams. They're even named after them
21: Emmey was caught in charge stone cave
22: Ingrid was caught in the celestial tower
23: Viper absolutely despises any and all evil teams, this stems from an incident during her travels. Viper was walking out of a pokemart late at night with Emmey out of her pokeball, when a team plasma grunt ran by and grabbed her. Viper started physically attacking this grunt out of fear to get Emmey back, which was successful.
24: Viper was inspired by battling Roxie to become a Poison Type specialist
25: Viper completed the gym challenge and had the chance to fight the Elite Four, but decided against it because she had no desire to become champion
26: Viper caught her Scolipede Belladonna as a Whirlipede in Lostlorn Forest after she finished the gym challenge bur before applying to work at the Virbank Gym. She remembers this day fondly.
27: Viper works part time at the Battle Subway, she just gets called in to battle trainers on the lines when no one else is available.
28: Viper has made a kid cry before after beating them in a pokemon battle at the Virbank Gym
29: Dripple the Vapoureon was eventually donated to a swimming school to help kids learn to swim. Viper visits her often.
30: Viper has a kitchen cabinet in her room dedicated to Ingo and Emmet merch, both official and unofficial. If you ask her about it she'll deny it's existence.
31: Two Ten the Arbok was found as an ekans in Floccesy Town. It was believed to be released by a trainer and was considered invasive in the area, so Viper decided to investigate it.
32: Cyanide is Viper's most recent pokemon, they were originally an egg gifted from someone at the gym who acquired it in Galar.
33: When is comes to @lostlornghost Viper originally started bickering with them as a way to prove her superiority after their altercation in the Subway tunnels. But now she fights with them as a way to show her affection.
34: Outside of team skull business, Viper wants to know @team skull unova better
35: Viper would've probably participated in the Team Skull raid on the Plasma Castle regardless if she was a team skull member or not
36: Viper recently started to keep her personal life a secret from the people at the Virbank Gym. She doesn't want anyone to know about her wacky, cosmic horror filled RoTumblr adventures.
37: personally I believe that Viper putting on the @liminal-station head and getting possessed by Virus was really out of character her to do. I feel like she would've been more adverse to putting on an inter dimensional severed head. I only did it because of my love for the trope of characters getting possessed and evil shadow selfs, and I think I made it work.
38: from Viper's perspective, she was trapped in a room of static during the Virus arc. Viper still has nightmares of this place
39: Viper was semi-aware during the Virus arc. She she had the energy for it she could sorta tap into her senses and see what Virus was doing in her body.
40: despite everything, Virus doesn't blame the Liminal Subway bosses for what happened to her. They had no idea any of this would've happen, she knows it wasn't their fault.
41: Ever since the Virus arc Viper has been suffering from Post Eldritch Madness. That head flooded her 3rd dimensional brain with knowledge from a world without knowledge, indescribable things she does not fully understand. And despite everything she's expecting to return to her life as normal.
42: Viper gained some unintentional side effects after taking off the head. These include being able to understand and speak Binary Code and her voice sounding like it's on a bad discord call when stressed
43: Viper also developed a fear of the Porygon line after the events of the Virus arc.
44: Viper is so confused about the Garbodor doll with a mohawk given to her by @doll-anon because she has never had a mohawk in her life
45: Viper keeps the Garbodor with a Mohawk plushy in a bin because she's a little convinced it's haunted.
46: if you were to ask Viper what type she would specialize in if she wasn't a poison specialist, she would say grass
47: If Viper was a monster, she would be a Mummy
48: If Viper was a card suite, she would be the club
49: Viper has a cabinet in her house dedicated to Subway boss memorabilia, both official and fan made.
50: Virus never left(╹◡╹)

Okay but with the return of Goth!Ingo I have to ask the the question: which type does he use as a star boss? Is it ghost? Also the untaped comedy of Akari just like visiting Stargo every other day because she needs to stay updated on teen Ingo's sheniganery!
How do the starbosses react to Ingo's gremlin of a (niece or daughter Ingo doesn't know, but is this a dad or uncle Ingo timeline?) sister and her weirdness!
Also you have both past and future paradox mon in their new teams: so is it like a two professor situation? Are there to ai professors with to crystal encased time machines like right across from each other at the bottom of A0? Does arven have to deal with his two neglectful parents and their still somehow divorced AIs? The concept is so funny to me
He's a ghost type specialist! His ace is his Ceruledge- it's purple flames remind him of something... perhaps of the Pokemon that wielded purple flames with mastery that he vaguely remembers from his time before Hisui. He does have a Grafaiai on his team, but it's Tera type is ghost, so it doesn't break the ghost theme.
And yup, Akari just comes to visit Ingo's base whenever she wants! Sometimes uninformed newbies try and stop her, thinking she's a base raider, but well... Akari just stomps them into the ground. She didn't survive Hisui to lose to someone with a level 10 Gastly, thanks. Ingo, of course, just lives at the base. He has a dorm room! He chooses to live at the base. It's nice. The dorm room is too comfy and they won't let Lady Sneasler roam the halls :(.
Team Star generally likes Akari. They don't trust her at first because she seems like a straight-laced student but then they see her wrestle with the world's weirdest Arcanine and decide she's chill. Also she has the gods of space and time in pokeballs so they recognize it's best not to mess with. whatever that is.
It is a two professor situation! Turo and Sada don't split up in this AU and work together to make a time machine... and die together. Oops. So yes, there's two AIs... which means the final battle against them is a Double Battle. :)

A little drabble about ingo and emmet reuniting
Emmet had decided to go to work today he was doing better than before about Ingo; his twin going missing whereas before he had a anxiety attack at the mere mention of his brothers disappearance now he would only cry at the news, it wasn’t a massive improvement but hey it was still an improvement. That was why he decided to go to work other than searching for a well sought after distraction from his empty home Emmet stepped into the station and prepared himself for what the day would bring, oh maybe this time he wouldn’t have someone show up on the doubles line blaming him for his brother going missing, or him killing his brother and hiding the body….. Well one can dream right? He saw the first train of the day pull into the station, ah what a good sign of things to come! Emmet watched as everyone filed out of the train, heading for jobs and whatnot while he was doing so two figures stood out to him, they seemed disoriented, hell they looked like they had never seen a train before! He could not glean their facial features but the tall one’s clothes were ripped, torn and looked worn out, on them looked to be a purple sneasel but that was absurd right? Sneasels are dark blue not purple…. Anywho the second figure was shorter than the first and their clothes looked old fashioned, not old mind you but old fashioned they also looked quite young, younger than the first for sure They after a while, finally managed to step out of the train After seeing the Tall figures face Emmet wished he had not come to work today he looked almost identical to ingo, ingo didn’t have a goatee and tired, lost eyes but this stranger did and Emmet started to freeze as still as a statue while looking at them, his smile wavering as he stared at the figure. Well this is bad he thought but at least I haven’t been noticed ye- The two figures stared directly at him, Emmet felt like he wanted to perish They looked at each other, sharing a glance and then some words Emmet couldn’t hear until the younger one, who by looking at her face Emmet assumed she was a female walked up to him looking …excited? Maybe, he was never good at reading peoples emotions, He wanted to flee but he was stuck there at least until his anxiety attack wore off.... as he was contemplating this the girl plopped herself in front of his face “Are you the man in white?” it was a simple question but also a baffling one… the man in what now? I mean he WAS wearing white but why would she ask that question instead of are you Emmet? That made so much more sense in his head than the man in white. As he was contemplating this he didn’t realise the taller, ingo looking figure had come up to them and had started apologising for… Akari’s? Sudden boldness. He guesses the name of that girl is Akari then. As he tuned himself in he realised the stranger even SOUNDED like Ingo oh boy he was overcome with intense emotion right now. Then he heard something that sent him over the edge “Come on uncle Ingo I just wanted to know!! He looks like you and dresses in white he’s got to be the man in white!” the next thing Emmet knew he was tackling the stranger named Ingo in a big, tight hug The stranger named Ingo stiffened at the hug and Emmet could feel dread and anxiety rising when he asked the simple yet very chilling question “What is your name?” Emmet stiffened and felt like he was going to cry as he replied “Emmet” the stranger named Ingo stopped for a moment, like he was concentrating on something, Emmet could see him mouthing the word Emmet over and over again to himself until something seemed to click as those lost eyes of his were now filled with the shine of recognition and tears as he gave Emmet a squeeze “Emmet?” Ingo’s voice was wavering and he sounded concerned “Yes Ingo?” Emmet asked “Sorry for forgetting you” That was it, that’s what broke the dam as Emmet sobbed and wept into the person he now knew to be his brother’s arms
