Obligatory fancier outfit that must be present anytime I post outfits
#self#fantasy costume#If I had the money for a custom tailored fantasy-ish victorian-ish suit instead of piecing together random thrift store items with like walm#rt halloween costume type jackets and stuff..#unstoppable.....#I would actually lean more straight up historical with my wardrobe it's just that everything I own basically is thrifted aside from a very#small portion of things (like usually socks for example I get from ebay. wigs from ebay. things that it's hard to find in thrift stores. etc#) and I rarely ever find stuff like that at the bins. Your closest bet is like. hopeing that the week you come in just so happens to also be#a week that a church costume department recently donated a bunch of old stuff. but I just haven't really had much luck finding like fancy ve#sts and suit coats and cloaks or like tunics and etc. etc.#Styles like mori kei or cult party kei are pretty accessible and easy for places like the bins (where youre usually digging through piles of#curtains and fabric scraps and doilies anyway). but finding like.. a straight up tudor england costume or something is . VERY rare#Sometimes you do find halloween costumes. Or like. stuff that's clearly like cheap 'Goth' stuff from shein or aliexpress that someone has do#nated and they can be a LITTLE okay in terms of usable for costumes. But you rarely find actual good quality stuff. obviously because like#real very good quality historical costumes are expensive and most people aren't just like 'yeah dump it off to goodwill' lol#In an ideal world though I would have fancy top hats and neck ruffles and stuff .. know this ghhjbhj#Lack of that will not stop me from taking picturesin basically the same outfit 6000 times though. My one single silky black vest and#one of the two solitary ruffly neck shirts I have every been able to find.#Pointy-ish little boots that I put with everything even thogugh they look terrible up close because they're literally like over 10 yrs old#I bought them so long ago and the black fake leather lining is like peeling off of the outside#ANYWAY#he's back again... the same little generic like elf vampire ruffle shirt with vest look.. might as well be the same guy#I support him and his dumbass disintegrating shoes anyway

the thing about the character creator in sonic forces is that it was a really fun idea but the execution could have been so much better. i could fix him
#sonic forces you to make a sonic oc ...#as far as changes i would make go.#i like that clothes arent gender locked but i think they should take it a step further and not force girls to wear that weird suit thing#its just weird and pointless. considering theyre animals with nothing to cover up and the boys can be naked if they want#and i think they should have shirts/pants be in separate slots instead of making you only pick one#and maybe also add a slot for a jacket and one for an accessory like a backpack or a scarf or something#also just. better customization options in general for the base character#like options for body markings. better quill styles for the hedgehogs and also having the hedgehogs eyes be connected#stuff like that#okay well iirc theres body markings but they take up a clothing slot which i think is kind of stupid#and i mostly mean stuff like chest fur arms being a separate color from the rest of the body that sort of thing

Just kinda... putting this out into the universe for right now, but I've been thinking really hard about getting my old enamel pin collections back in circulation, as well as maybe releasing them as stickers as well (for a budget option and also for things you can't put enamel pins on). I had to throw out basically all my remaining stock when I moved (which... oouugh it still hurts), so I might essentially run a "reboot" kickstarter to get another batch of Dire Hounds made and then try again to get the full Grimalkins set funded. A few things this would let me do:
update the templates for slightly cleaner manufacturing, and update the backer cards with accurate artist info because man that was really bothering me
like I said, hopefully get the second half of the Grimalkins produced so they're a proper six-pin collection like the first one
network! Now that I'm in a big city I think I honestly might have better luck with consignment stores and craft fairs than I ever did with only an online shop, and more visibility can only mean good things.
I'm also still definitely planning to make idog merch, and beyond that I'd potentially love to lean even further into the cyberpunk and y2k aesthetics to really hone my Brand™, but obviously that requires original thought and creative effort while getting the dogs and cats remade just requires pulling the old AI files off my poor aging iMac.
#if possible I'd love to find a (more) local manufacturer instead of the one in the UK I was using before#unfortunately that means they'll cost a bit more up front since they won't have the molds already#which I guess would have possibly been a non-issue anyway if I was gonna tweak the art#but also the lower shipping costs without going through customs.....#anyway just thinking..... on a conceptual level I really miss ~designing merch~ even though I never really excelled at it lmao#a lot of you probably have no fucking clue what I'm talking about because the pins were before your time :/#just take my word for it they were all really really cool and you want them#I wish I made the kind of art that people want on their walls lmao prints seem like easy money for a lot of people#but it just doesn't mesh with what I make. Gosh aren’t they gorgeous tho ♥ Especially the latest and largest, though I have to give all the credit to the paper on that one haha, it’s stunning IRL, I could almost stare at the gold lattice forever rather than read, but I’m so happy with how it turned out between the pages as well!

My Drinking Game as another test run, I got the spacing how I wanted it! Yay! It’s so much handsomer and less cramped! Also I gotta say, if it wasn’t such a large usage of paper, this would be my ideal way of checking for typos - I found a couple after setting it down to ink lol, they’ve been fixed now at least ♪
Paired here with the emerge, transformed three-parter, one of my all-time-favourites <3 I reread it the night I finished it and cried again, a little bit of tender mercy always wrecks me hhhh ♥ There are so many beautiful evocative lines! I’m so happy to hold it ♪ And as you can see above, that was the one that got the cute little ghost dust jacket :D
Another test run of what I’m calling volume 1 of my Vargas Drabbles lol, so not including Have you lost your mind? since that one’s currently unfinished. I do fully intend to print it once it’s done tho :3c Hopefully that one will cause me fewer problems! I hate measuring, so I may have flubbed two covers before finally getting this one into good enough shape XP And my red yarn is still in storage so >.> Did I go purchase another ball of red yarn? I’ll never tell. You can’t tell me it doesn’t look great as a bookmark tho <3
And my current happiest! Ah!! It turned out fantastic on all counts! The cover paper obviously, as I couldn’t Not lead with that, but also the size of the spine and the way the pages settled against each other while glueing - I used a different type of paper for this one and I think I’m completely converted over, it feels amazing to work with. Whatever I was using before had to have been like 15lbs lol, I’m literally just using normal 20lb printer paper but it feels and looks and behaves so much nicer <3
The size of Helix also allowed for a slightly larger bookmark, which was perfect because we had this soft gold ribbon that was all of a couple millimeters wider than the other ribbons/yarn I’d been using, and it looks so so so pretty with the gold detailing!! I’ve put it between Ch. 1 and 2 and getting to see the actual physical size differences of the chapters is so fun ♥
#Hhhhhh crafting is so funnnnn <3 <3 <3#Fully intending to make more - I have the next set picked out and the accompanying dust jacket to go with it haha#I've decided to stick to dust jackets for the plain non-textured covers for the most part#It does hide my detailing on the covers but it also hides if I haven't done anything to the fronts as well! Haha ♪#I added a Captain/ZEX caption to Drinking Game like I did with ZEX/DAX but the latter is still the prettiest by far <3#Their names were made to go together you could say hehe ♪♫#You can kinda see I tried my hand at making a custom cover for the Vargas drabbles as well - it kiiiinda turned out? It's beautiful and I feel like it reflects the Idle Rich themes a little bit hehe <3#Hhhhhhh it's so nice to read them like I would a book ♥ I enjoy reading them on my iPod but there's something about The Experience hehe#Being able to hold it and place a physical bookmark and not having the glare of a screen or if the scroll goes funny lol#Just exactly what it is! We all know how buff Gil is build right? So how about Gil goes shopping for himself and Thena decides to go with him and he is struggling to find something fitting? Would be a funny story! You choose in wich AU it’s happening 😂
"Thena, thank fuck you're here!"
Thena laughs as Gil rushes over to her as soon as she steps foot into the department store. He called her at work, which had really freaked her out given they hadn't been back home for too long. And they had been keeping Gil in the flat as much as possible, careful about who might see him out and about if he roamed too freely.
But he likes running errands, like getting groceries and little household supplies. He keeps the flat immaculate and prepares beautiful meals for them, since what else is he supposed to do with his days, she supposes.
"Why are the sizes so complicated?" he frowns at her, holding a few different shirts of the same make in his hands. "I just thought I was stopping by to grab some clothes for around the house. But now I've been here for 45 minutes and I don't know what size I am anymore."
Thena laughs, taking the shirts from him to at least physically alleviate his burden. She flips through them, looking at the tags of each. "Did you really pick up one in every size?"
"Except small," he shrugs, joining her as she walks them back to the men's section.
"Does a medium fit you?" she asks, her eyes just starting to drift over him before she stops herself. That's not a good idea.
"Well, sometimes American sizes will fit me," Gil offers helplessly. "Korean shirts basically always had to be tailored for me."
Thena's eyes flicked down to his arms for just a second. Yes, she could see how that might be a problem for him. "Let's start with a regular old large for now."
Gil sighs, though. "That's the problem, though."
Thena raises her brows.
"Just," he takes the shirts from her hands again and leads her back to the changing room he had abandoned to go wait for her, "come with me."
Thena sets her purse down as she takes a seat outside of the stalls. She can see a mess of other articles of clothing in the room before he closes the door. She wonders if he's really only been here for 45 minutes.
"See?" Gil practically whines, holding his hands out in front of him in a helpless gesture. "They're too tight."
Thena blushes, although she tells herself not to. It's silly, really. She was so used to seeing Gilgamesh in business suits all throughout her time working for him. But just a t-shirt and jeans are working for him.
Gil pouts as she stands to examine the way the seams of the sleeves dig into his biceps. "It's kind of fine otherwise."
Actually, it's already a little looser everywhere else than he would like, she thinks. She tilts her head, "I don't know, Gil."
Gil slumps his shoulders again. "See?--this is exactly why I called you. I don't know what I was thinking trying to come here by myself."
Thena shakes her head; this is exactly the kind of thing that made her develop feelings for him in the first place. This man and his stupid sweetness. "Maybe this just isn't the type of shirt for you. Sometimes different brands will fit different, too."
"Why's it so difficult?" Gil bemoans as she sends him back into the changing room.
"I couldn't tell you, I'm afraid," she laments. She has her own troubles with clothes simply with a female body. "I did a lot of my clothes shopping online in Korea."
That and sometimes things wouldn't quite fit her in the bust, so she had to take up buying dresses and learning to live with a revealing neckline and just wearing a cardigan or sweater over them.
"Maybe I should just do that," Gil mutters as he emerges, all of his finds - and failures - piled up in his arms.
"We'll find you something," she assures him, taking his picks from him and leaving them in the bin to be sorted before returned to the shelves. She slips her hand into the crook of his elbow (just this once, she tells herself).
"What about you, Naekkeo?" he smiles at her.
This isn't the first time he's used some cute little pet name on her like it's nothing--like it's normal for them. She tells herself not to let it get to her every time. "What about me?"
"We're here," Gil states, gesturing to the store around them. "We should shop for stuff for you too."
"I don't need anything," Thena laughs at his eager face.
"But Thena," he pleads, as if he's asking for something for himself instead of trying to convince her to let him take her shopping.
"These might actually be a good choice for you," she muses as she feels the soft material of the thick-knit sweaters and cardigans. They'll stretch to accommodate those arms of his without them having to go two full sizes up from his usual.
"Huh," he notes as he takes one from her, slipping off his jacket and slipping the cardigan on in its place. "What do you think?"
Goddammit, it looks great on him. Despite the very mundane article of clothing, he makes it look borderline salacious with it unbuttoned around him, the sleeves pulled partially up his thick forearms.
Thena bites her tongue; he looks damn sexy, is what she thinks. "It looks nice."
Gil beams at her approval, proudly laying it over his arm as he continues to float next to her. "Maybe I should just be a cardigan guy."
Thena smiles, pawing through a few more stacks of sweaters and knits. "That's quite a shift from your usual attire."
"Well," Gil sneaks a look at her and slides their hands together. "I have to look the part if I'm gonna be a househusband here, right? Soft clothes and aprons and oven mitts?"
Thena just laughs, although she's already getting a little too use to thinking of Gil like that. She tries to tell herself not to, of course. They're not married--they're not together. She's protecting him by moving him here.
But whether they're together or not, his hand tightens around hers, and she lets it, smiling all through the rest of the store.

For what an amazing and life changing technological advancement air travel is, flying has got to be one of the most unpleasant experiences.
#domestic flights maybe not as much#but like the process of going through customs. taking off your shoes and jackets emptying all your belongings into plastic bins#and you have to do in a squished cramped little line up as fast as possible lest everyone get mad at you#collecting all your shit and making sure you didn't lose anything and putting on your shoes again#all before the person behind you also gets to the end of the line.. terrible#all while security personnel side eye you like you're a horrible waste of space just for existing#and then sidling through the cramped little aisle of the plane rushing to put your luggage away before the ppl behind u get mad#sliding into a seat so tiny even 5'4“ me can't stretch my legs#and then you arrive at the destination and get interrogated as to why you're in this country#'oh you're visiting your friends? seems suspicious. traveling for Christmas? tell it to the judge.'#ooh but then you are at your destination in record time. the joy of seeing new places and visiting loved ones!#but then do it all again on the way back while getting interrogated about every purchase you made while away

ok i got excited and did mockups. screenshot source is dollightful’s recent gen 1 to gen 3 comparison video which is super cool and useful!! because the eye shape is mostly out of my control i’m thinking about adding in thick black lines to mimic my drawing style and bring it back to something that looks like i made it, which i think could look super cool! not sure if i want eyelashes on her or not. i’m prrrrrobably gonna have to reroot bc cleo’s hair has a lot of blue in it and her base hair doesn’t dye well from what i’ve read. then i get to try to figure out styling!!
