#this was supposed to be a warmup but i got carried away.... i havent drawn in so long that its been hard to focus orz #im testing a new brush for fun. again.. i think i can use this for clean lineart..?? im surprised i went as long as i did with the #narinder brush honestly... but i wanna try something new so here we are again #if i could get my shit together id love to draw a model of his van because i have smth really cool in mind..i was looking at pictures #of old wooden caravans like the horse drawn ones and i wonder if i could combine that with the shape of an RV #i like the ones with a door at the rear bc it kinda lookslike a train caboose.. maybe he'd get someone to weld him a custom ride!!#idk how intricate and detailed i can design it without making it a pain in the ass to draw every time BUT i have a general idea #it would probably have a door on the side but idk if itd flip down to make a stage or upwards to make a roof?? and then theres a #curtain behind it where he would come out and do his show methinks.. ive been looking at pictures of camping vans on pinterest for ideas #i dont think he LIVES in the van since i mentioned his home is an old run down theatre when he isnt on the road. i wanna draw that too #but the RV should have enough for long travels like a bed and cabinets..? maybe a net hanging on the ceiling where all his props go #id like to think of ideas for a hometown.. toronto has a huge entertainment district so it would make sense for him to live there #although id also love to base parts of it from vancouver since id love to go back and visit </3 #..would there be furth names for those places?? nyancouver... clawronto... whinnypeg (like a horse whinny)...#pawson creek.... purrlington... otterwa.. i love coming up with names lol #my art #myart #my oc #oc #sleight #laikas comet oc #fan character #fur #furry art

Hello! Sorry if you’ve been asked this before, but what app and brushes do you use for your art? It’s all so beautiful!!

Thank you so much!! and no worries, I actually haven’t gotten this question before! I use procreate and i mostly use default brushes that I edited a bit

For sketching and lineart, I used to use the default ink bleed brush (with some minor setting changes) bc I rly liked the flow of it, but I eventually didn’t like the texture of it. I still really like how comfortable and flowy it felt to use though and it was so hard to find another brush with that feel, so I played around with it to make the texture more subtle. For any procreate users, I just changed the shape source to “blotch” from the source library, but for some reason that messed with the flow so i had to play around with some other settings. I also tend to use it on a little less than full opacity. Sometimes tho when I just want to be really loose, I still use the default brush in the sketching phase bc I was never able to completely match the flow of it with my current brush!

For coloring and rendering I really just use (lightly edited once again, usually just for flow/taper preference) default hard airbrushes, then medium airbrush for things like blush, lips, gradients, and other soft color applications

When i haphazardly color doodles (and sometimes in rendering), i use this “kopik marker” which I’m PRETTY SURE I downloaded from an artist but unfortunately I can’t remember from whom anymore 😭😭

or when I want a watercolory feel, I’ll use spectra which is another default brush

Those are my main brushes! Other than that ofc I might use a bunch of specialized brushes depending on what the piece calls for, like for nature, magic effects, texture, etc. I have a ridiculous amt downloaded or some i made myself lol

#sometimes composition + anatomy take too much work and there’s other things that are both more fun and also need more practice #also like. theyre fun to do #I spent the last little bit testing out a bunch of line art brushes and finally found one with a texture that I’ve been looking to replicat #so that’s nice #and I played around with the colors a bunch although to be fair I do that even when spending a shit ton of time with other stuff #but with redraws it’s fun to try and mimic the color palettes in the original and blend stuff in with the backgrounds #or just create a whole new color palette lol #idk i’m having fun with it #art ramblings
