Things from the TOH sneak peaks that set me off:

HUNTER CHECKING IN ON LUZ 😭

Luz and Hunter acting like siblings... they've been through so much together 🥺 Hunter being the reassuring big bro was just adorable

Then his immediate spiral 2 seconds later, so on brand for him

I missed the sound of Zeno Robinson's voice, didn't realise how big the Hunter shaped hole in my life was until now

Also Luz referencing Hollow Mind feels like it's setting up the emotional arcs for this special

Amity's cute little smile when Luz gives her the plaster. Can't wait to see more Lumity moments 💖💖

Camila pronouncing Belos was funny for some reason. Her voice actor really sells the "What the fuck is going on" tone

Spoiler warning for The Owl house Season 3 Episode 1. You have been warned.

Ok, so I've emotionally recovered enough from the episode, and now I'm going to talk about it.

Ok so, the way everyone was helping Camilla was so sweet. And the way Amity nervously handed her tea? Absolutely adorable. Also why'd they put a witch, owl and something that looked like King on the plaster box? I'm already sad enough, why do they do this? And then the way Luz put the plaster on Amitys hand? I. My heart.

Gus exploring the basement and being in awe of human stuff was awesome. I have yet to see someone that dissapointed at bubble rap running out. Also Hunter being really formal when thanking Camilla? I. I just. Like it makes sense, I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't that.

Willow and Amity breaking a clock cause they thought it'd hurt Vee is hilarious. They even did a little fist bump thing afterwards, they looked so proud of themselves. AND LUZ AND CAMILLA HAVE MATCHING EARINGS IN ONE SCENE??? That's amazing. Camilla having a rainbow heart on her clothes after Luz comes out is also really cool.

AND THE INTRO OH MY GOD THE INTRO IS EVERYTHING. I love everything about the intro. I love the new character design for Vee too, the character designers did a really awesome job. Hunter cutting his hair (cause he looked to much like Belos) and Willow helping him??? Fantastic. Love the trans-coding of that scene. AND THEY SET THE DOOR ON FIRE LMAO. Should've known something like that would happen at some point. I don't understand why Vee was the only one who knew how to use a fire extinguisher though.

And AYY DUOLINGO REFRENCE!! It makes me really happy for some reason. And hooty being spray painted on the door? That was definitely Luz, and that makes me very very sad. And her outburst during her English class? Camilla please get your daughter some therapy. AND LUZ'S LOCKER. It was basically a shrine to her family in the boiling Isles. That's so sad but also wholesome at the same time.

And then Camilla asking Luz if her friends would rather drink blood is honestly so thoughtful (despite how weird that sounds). And she had whole books of notes on their eating habits so she wouldn't forget anything. And she taught Hunter to use a sewing machine too. She cares so much, it's awesome.

The fact Hunter has an obsession with wolfs makes so much sense and is really great. Give the person who came up with that idea a raise. And whoever gave him crocs. However, the person who suggested Gus say "it's good to see you happy, one of us might as well be" needs to be fired. They have made me feel things and that is awful. And "I miss knowing who I'm supposed to be". They have called me out. How dare they.

GUS SHOWING HUNTER COSMIC FRONTIER. That whole conversation showing the importance of representation in a way literal children could understand was not something I thought I needed. AND CAMILLA MADE SURE THEY'D FIND THE BOOK SO THEY COULD READ A STORY ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE THEM AHGJKYYDK. She's such a good parent. She had the old snakeskin Luz found as a kid in a frame on her bedside table too, which is a nice detail.

Also "even if I'm not who I'm supposed to be... I like who I am right now". AHHHHHH. That is the most trans-coded line I have ever heard in my whole fucking life. I love Hunter so much. And the fact he started sobbing after Luz said he was family now ddjgssffggjkd fuck this show I hate it.

And Marsha, I LOVE MARSHA. THEIR NAILS!!!! AHHHH. THEIR SO COOL!!! And "sounds like big bro got a hot witch girlfriend and little bro got upset" when talking about Caleb and Belos lmao. They're awesome. Vee and Marsha need to go on a date, if they don't I will be mildly upset.

Willow having a photo album of all the good memories they made is also amazing, she seems like that kinda person.

AND AMITY AND LUZ HAVE MATCHING HALLOWEEN COSTUMES AHHHHHHHH. And Hunter & Gus's outfits, they're such dorks I love them.

Also the fact Luz's Azura hyperfixation is partly because her Dad brought her the book before he died. I. I hate this show.

And possessed Hunter OH MY GOD POSSESSED HUNTER. The design was so cool, and I just, he's so gender??? Like I get Belos is evil and I hate him with my entire being but still.

Also the fight scene was awesome. The animation, the dialogue, the voice acting everything was perfect. And Hunter throwing the titans blood into the lake so Belos couldn't hurt anyone else was amazing. Hunter definitely knew Belos would try and make him go in after it, and he was willing to sacrifice his life to avoid the harm of anyone else. We've needed a scene like this since Hollow Mind and it is very VERY satisfying to finally have a scene were Hunter stands up to Belos.

AND THEN CAMILLA JUMPED IN AFTER HIM AND SAVED HIM!!!!! YESSSSSS!!!

But noooo Hunter has more scars now and although they look really cool Belos has still hurt Hunter again. The show writers really want him to suffer huh?

AND THEN FLAPJACK SACRIFICES HIMSELF SO HUNTER CAN LIVE!!!! AND THEN THEY CRY??? SHOW WRITERS WHY???? WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE SMALL ANIMALS?? And then Hunter says he wants to fight back for Flapjack ahhhhhh my heart. I hate this fucking show.

AND THEN CAMILLA GOES THROUGH THE PORTAL TOO? DIDN'T EXPECT THAT BUT I LOVE IT.

"Time to go home Flap" I AM SOBBING SHOW WRITERS WHY HUNTER HAS BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH OK LEAVE HIM ALONE

The last lumity scene!!!!! It was so sweet!!! I love this shows portrayel of healthy relationship dynamics. And Vee staying I didn't expect, but it makes a lot of sense actually.

In conclusion, I very much enjoyed the new Owl House episode. Minus everything in it that made me Very Very Sad ™

omg tysm anon this means so much i definitely didn't start crying when i read this nope

btw obligatory warning for season 2 spoilers!!

SO. the owl house.

first off, i'm gonna talk about Luz + the main gang bc i absolutely love them. so you have Luz, who's insane but like. in a lovable way. like if i knew her irl i would probably be terrified of her but she's also really nice and stuff!! just like. no self preservation instinct. anyway she's unhinged but very fun !

then Eda, aka the Owl Lady, aka wine aunt extraordinaire. she's very much like Luz except i would actually trust her with my life and she's a sweetheart and i want her to adopt me so fucking bad. also she's cursed and that's kinda fun. sometimes. actually it isn't but she sure looks cool when she's in her owl/monster/beast/evil form-

Hooty (i. spelled that as hotty at first and am extremely ashamed) and King are the first siblings that Luz obtains. Hooty (oh my FUCKING god why do i keep calling him hotty) is obnoxious and can take off his own skin, which is horrific, and King is a very good boy. certified munchkin. i wanna pet him.

then there's everyone at school who i love So Much, Gus is my child and Willow is so fucking badass and Amity is girlfriend™ (just not at first). honorable mention for Principal Bump because he will forever be the best magical school principal and i wanna give him a hug

i really kinda thought the show was boring for the majority of the first season, but holy fuck did it deliver around ep16-ish. like everything starts to come together, we get a main villain (Belos), a main quest (getting the portal back), and more stuff!! it's just really awesome, it became one of my favorite series in just two episodes.

i really love how Eda's sister (her name has currently been forgotten lol) became friends with Hooty, they got such a nice friendship after everyone kinda hated Hooty and it made me really happy.

THEN!!!! ENTER HUNTER (aka my favorite fucking character of all time currently). just. omg. Zuko but Even More Traumatized (probably. maybe). it's so hard to tell what he's thinking, especially when he's first introduced. he's really cheerful and....well, not friendly, but he's very confident and boisterous, and clearly believes that he's a good person/on the right side. on the other hand, even in his first few episodes it's really obvious he's uh. not that mentally healthy. (like in the scenes where he starts infodumping about something he's read and then just kinda. cuts himself off. that was so relatable it made me sad every time hgfdfghjhgf)

and then the big reveal about him in s2e16, oh my god. i called a lot of the major plot twists but the fact that he's literally a fucking clone of Belos's probably-brother??? imagine how mentally fucked up finding that out would make you. he held himself together Surprisingly Well considering his entire life was shattered in like. less than an hour and he realized he was going to fucking die if he ever saw his uncle again. like. just imagine. he's already been abused so much (personal hc of mine that Belos gave him those scars) and he's already terrified of Belos, but he doesn't really think Belos is going to kill him. maybe hurt him, maybe demote him or something else bad but he doesn't think he's going to die and then he finds out that literally all oF HIS PREDECESSORS WERE MURDERED BY BELOS???? AND THAT HE WAS JUST SOMETHING THAT COULD BE THROWN AWAY IF HE MESSED UP OR DID ANYTHING BAD??????? CMON BRO THAT'S A-TIER WRITING

and his dynamic with the rest of the characters is so great, i love how he and Luz always bicker with each other but then work together, and Amity being able to relate to him and trying to make him feel better at the lake/titan blood mine and him and Willow and Gus are just like siblings they're so adorable. Gus helping him with his panic attack is one of my favorite scenes in any show i've ever watched and i am not kidding about that. they're just so ugh. showing him that he can be loved and it's not his fault and hhhaahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaa *loud screeching*

the whole day of unity thing was absolutely incredible, i love how Darius and animal coven dude and Raine were actually trying to stop the day of unity before the mcs even really knew how big of a deal it was, and i love that you can't tell that Darius and animal dude were on the good side until wayyyyy after Raine's assumedly captured by them. it's really good writing. (also Darius is Hunter's Dad™. i do and will not take criticism on this.)

btw don't even get me started on Raine istfg- they make me so incredibly happy. just. the fact that they're so badass and wonderful and Definitely not in love with Eda and their magic is so cool and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. seeing a canon nb character is something that gives me a lot of courage, just the way that everyone respects their pronouns and is totally chill about it makes me so incredibly happy (especially in the last few days. hah.) i need to see more of Raine, especially after that finale bc oh god what if they're dead or something?????? i'm so scared

aLSO ALSO!!!! the Collector is baby. i would adopt him (them?) in 2.0 seconds if i could. he deserves to be happy and have friends and not be betrayed by everyone who he helps. i honestly feel super bad for him, he's just a lil god kid who wants to play w ppl :((( why is everyone afraid of himmm

the season two finale killed me btw. i'm dead. deceased. writing this from my coffin. like wtf are they gonna do now that Raine (and everyone else) is dead/dying and Eda doesn't have an arm and the kids are both stuck in the human world and Extremely traumatized (looking at you Hunter) and King's stuck with the Collector (who he betrayed and who is probably not gonna be very happy about that)???? i'm going insane. legitimately when i finished i just kinda closed my computer and said "oh my god" out loud. i cannot handle this i'm so scared omg

that being said i really want to see the gang's reaction to the human world. i wanna see Gus obsessing over paperclips again :( i feel like there's so much potential for the gang to all be adopted by Luz's mom and i am HERE for it. Hunter needs a mom asap

The Good King and the Mad Hatter being great father-figures (found family my beloved) to the EAH boys: Daring, Dexter, Sparrow, Hunter, Hopper, Tiny, Merry Men etc. They're just such great dads.

More of Hunter, Cerise, Maddie, Melody, Cupid and other rebels acting as Raven Protection Squad.

Apple White is perfect as is. I'd give her more happiness.

Faybelle, Lizzie, Raven, Baba Yaga, Dancing Madame, and more, acting as Duchess Protection Squad and helping to find a solution for her unhappy destiny. Just got the idea of them being her Knights of the Round Table!

Kitty, Ramona, Faybelle, Sparrow, Blondie as prankmasters. Blondie's the voice of goodness but that's not saying much.

More little rebel things by Ashlynn and Briar after they out themselves as rebels, like sitting on the rebel side of the castleteria, having the winged purple heart as a little pin on their bag or dress, hanging out with fellow rebels who have always been outside their social circle, like Briar hanging with Hunter, Ashlynn with Cerise.

More connection with Monster High - Cupid taking EAH students there and vice versa. Cerise and Ramona letting their hair down. Twyla taking Briar's friends into her dreams when she falls asleep and they hang out there. Sparrow interacting with Holt and Heath. Raven getting help with her magic from Casta. EAH seeing Cupid's MH form and in for the shock of their life. Kids with villainous or unhappy destinies just thriving at MH. Getting Bella and Brutta's ghosts and talking to them and FINDING OUT THE TRUTH!

PESKY THE SQUIRREL! More of him! More of his interactions with Hunter and the EAH boys! Just him messing their lives whenever he can and them leaving everything to chase him.

More of Queen Charming and Maid Marian's rebellious nature as heavily implied in Semi-Charming Kind of Life.

Clear indication of how much better a father the Good King is over King Charming. By indication I mean show us that Dexter and Daring are encouraged to pursue other interests and prefer Good King's company, they have picnics together and Raven's like "What are you doing with my dad?" and the bros are like, "We're having lunch with your dad. Do you wanna join us?"

Sparrow and the Merry Men just vibing.

Tasteful depiction of Ashlynn's stepsisters or stepcousins. Idc if they're evil or not, just tasteful. Same with Crystal and the Snow Queen.

More of General Villainy class shown in Next Top Villain — did you know Sparrow's the only guy in that class of strong female characters? Just him vibing with these classmates, them getting up to mischief or protecting each other aka Ginger and Raven are in that class too.
