Okay wait wait wait wait wait- so Kayleigh Day is from Ireland right? And part of the reason she didn't tell Wymack she was pregnant was because she didn't want to move to the US, right? So that means Kevin grew up in Ireland until she died, right?? Does this mean Kevin has a secret Irish accent?? Little Kevin with an Irish accent!

I won a 100x battle yesterday and it was such a spiritual experience it momentarily yanked me out of my sinkhole to draw this, as if possessed

hi! i love your ideas for karmic conviction a lot, you've put so much thought into it and it really shows - i love that you're doing it with your sister too, that must be so fun to work on together :) i just wanted to ask, because i really like working stuff like this out for my own ocs, do you have any thoughts about klaus and constanze's connection to their german heritage (were they born/did they ever live in germany, are they bilingual, do they follow any german traditions, cuisine etc)? i have the image in my mind of the vk family all chattering very fast in their own dialect of german together and only athena and possibly edgeworth can understand anything of what they're talking about haha
Ahh, thank you so much for your kind words!! We really do have so much love for this little thing ;w;
Constanze and Klaus are very much German first and foremost! They were both born and raised in Germany and had German as a first language, but they've both been learning English and travelling a lot since they were young, so they're well used to speaking English too. Actually, their permanent residence is still in Germany technically (although both of them are meant to stay in Japanifornia after the end of the game... hmm. I wonder how they swing that, lol)
I also really like thinking about them all talking in German to each other and confusing everyone else. Thinking about it, Klaus and Athena would totally talk to each other in German too... like when they're investigating crime scenes and don't want the police listening in on them lol. Unfortunately they can't employ that strategy on the defense's bench when the prosecutor is also German

The things many parents teach their children do the exact opposite of preparing said child for adulthood.
Like. A non-zero number of us were taught as children never to invite ourselves over or invite ourselves in, like we’re fucking vampires or something. But that’s also the only way to include yourself in activities as an adult.
There have to be better ways to teach a child to be respectful of someone’s plans and not be presumptuous and pushy. There have to be better ways to express, “If you show up unannounced, they may not have the time or will to entertain you” and “Give people time to prepare for company” and “People get busy, so make plans in advance or they may be unable to hang out because they already have obligations.”
But— also— there’s something so… anti-community about the way this is taught with a simple, “Never invite yourself, wait to be invited.” You’ll wait forever.

i keep writing up posts about it and maybe at some point i'll draft up a version of it that's coherent and fair and not just Ranting. but god, almost as much as ableist exfunction-ableds i fucking hate fuck-you-got-mine pickmes who use 'well i struggle with executive function, but i can pick up after myself and hold a job, so on behalf of responsible NDs who care you have no excuse uwu' to throw exfunction-disableds who are in imminent danger of homelessness, institutionalization, or death due to their executive dysfunction under the bus lol
