🌌Recently, I’ve thought about how love is one of those emotions you cannot hide. It does not matter how much romantic content you aggressively beat the public with choose to release to the world, there is nothing more special and honorable than letting others know the specific context and worth that a person means to you.

Some of the most private couples, and close friends, cannot help, but directly express the sincere devotion and respect that they have for their partners.

Here are a few favorites.

Nikki’s birthday message to Ian: “You are my every dream brought to life. With our hands pressed together I know that we will always find our way home. You are a gift to this world, a teacher of light and a student of love. You radiate warmth in vibrant reds and deep orange hues. I often wonder what it would be like to see autumn arrive through your eyes. Here is to the next 65 years together, holding hands, strolling through the woods, still learning, still listening. Happy happy birthday…I love you.”

Justin to Hailey: “To my beloved birthday squish. My heart belongs to you. My eyes belong to you, my lips belong to you. am yours. I am so blessed to be yours. Set a man free, eh? What, then, should the public call this wardenship babysitting unofficial adoption “relationship” that she has with Harry?

Jason’s message about Olivia: “[Olivia] is a combination of everything that I love about women — she's smart, strong, caring, beautiful and as funny as anybody I've ever known. She just has it all. It's like she's the most gorgeous Costco you've ever seen in your life. Early on in our relationship, I would sneak onto her Twitter and read through things she had written. I'd be like, 'This is awesome. She's awesome.”

Harry’s messages about Olivia: “If I was a girl, I’d have a crush on Zayn-“ Oops, sorry. Wrong person.

“Always in my heart-“ Oh sorry. Still wrong person.

“For the only person to have ever truly seen me beyond my flesh and blood and beyond the disguise-“ Whoops. Entirely wrong musician. Give me a second.

“I’ve always tried to compartmentalise my personal life and my working life.”

… It’s plausible that his hay fever may have flared up, here, and prevented him from understanding the question.

Let’s find another quote where he acknowledges Olivia, as someone apart of his personal life.

“Any assumptions on his love life are curtailed for his Dazed cover story.”

Maybe Harry was sincerely confused, as the journalist failed to word the question clearly?

Let’s look at Stern’s interview, where Stern cut the crap to directly clarify Olivia’s value to him (Harry).

“You fell in love on a movie set.”

“Uhh… how do I answer this questions? I had a wonderful experience getting directed by Olivia. Acting is kind of uncomfortable at times; you have to trust a lot. Well, call everyone boo-boo the fools for assuming that the person, who has been on an insanity campaign to force people to believe you are her boyfriend, is only valued to you as a mere coworker, lover boy.

You could had, at least, praised her… I don’t know… I don’t know…. exceptional talent at evading responsibilities? Her unflinching willingness to broadcast her every cosmetic procedure, regardless of the negative effects still visible? Even, complimented her mentally stunted fashion sense would had lessen the humiliation blow.

Surely, the supportive “love of his life” could freely congratulate her man on one of his greatest achievements, as his other personal friends did. Olivia was never one to verbally suppress her feelings of someone she loved. She LOVED to chatter of how “blissfully, wildly, and hopelessly” in love she was with Jason.

Undoubtedly, now that she’s the “happiest she has ever been”, she wouldn’t hesitate to verbalize the source of that happiness, as well as writing and talking about the person who is responsible for it all.

Right?

Take Liam, whom Harry rarely sees, SM’s message to Harry for his Grammy win: “Congrats [Harry] on your Grammy win. What a huge moment, proud to be your brother."

And the supportive girlfriend? Nothing excessive. Just a personalized note celebrating her “boyfriend’s” talents and expressing her pride.

Olivia’s message: 🍉

Olivia’s messages about Harry: “my (unnamed, had to be written in by Vogue’s journalist) friend.” Harry styles is my best friend cap. Compulsively liking secondary statements written by strangers on SM. “Happy happy” (strangely showed NO NAME on the board), 👏🏼 when the album was released. Traditional acknowledgment post thanking him for his WORK in DWD, and “You know I can’t talk about that” to the TMZ pap.

Can’t, Olivia? Or contractually barred from doing so, as you don’t hesitate to steal coins from wishing wells, and collect dropped change in Hampstead to pay for the overflow of articles, pap walks, blinds, and “fan sights” that speaks the false narratives you, yourself, are blocked from saying directly.

As well as walking daily from Belsize to Hampstead to be spotted near one of his publicly recognized properties.

After comparing and contrasting their “expressions of love” against a broad spectrum of couples, private and public, platonic and romantic, including their own behavioral patterns, it’s safe to say that, as always, the 1 + 1 IS NOT adding to 2 with Holivia’s romance.

I mean, damn.

Even, the mentally deranged gf harries are allowed to freely post whatever they want about Harry.

Yet, the woman who “has made him feel so comfortable about having sex” is limited to likes, emojis, and only directly posting about him in promotion of the film he’s in?

Here are two honorable mentions that I thought Olivia, herself, should be reminded of, as they are her own words:

“All actors should experience public failure.”

“I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and NOT DEFINED BY ANOTHER PERSON.”

Interesting, indeed. Has her injections compressed her brain so much so that she has completely forgotten this motto? Start choosing your words wisely, Cockburn. For they may be used as instruments for your publicly undoing.

And, a special message from “king Harry” himself:

“I want a girl who respects herself. It means her standards are high and if I fit them then I’d be honored.”

….Yeah. If anyone is still convinced of the “romantic nature” of Holivia, use this cheat sheet to guide you. Getting unnecessary lost in the sea of chaos and confusion is not worth anyone’s time.

If you don't mind my asking, how much is it to do the echos/holters? Is it the sort of thing that's only covered if your pet has had a prior event?

Well there are a few different ways you can do this health testing! The most expensive way is going through a cardiologist, that’s gonna be probably a few k depending on where you live and all you need done.

Breeders and show people are most likely going to be doing echos at health clinics, which are typically set up by breed clubs or kennel clubs in conjuncture with shows. Prices will also depend on where you are, but echos at health clinics seem to be around $200-$400 around here.

The BCOA tries to offer most of the breed specific health testing during the borzoi national, and that’s where I did Margo and Charlie’s initial echos this past spring. I got a discount for being a BCOA member and I think it was $170 each, this was in TX.

Holters are a little different, and at this point aren’t typically included in health clinics as it’s a 24 hr or longer test. Holter monitors themselves cost roughly 1.2k give or take, and probably another couple hundred for the vest and monitor holder to protect it while in use. The BCOA offers holter monitor rentals to members and it’s not too expensive, but I thankfully have a few friends who own their own and are willing to let me use their’s. To actually get the holter analyzed and read, it’s $40 through Alba.

Echos should be done a minimum of every year a breeding is planned. I plan to test Margo annually if at all possible, and she would not be bred without an echo within that year. I don’t plan on echoing Charlie again until probably 8 or 9 unless his holters start showing issues, since he’s neutered and has all indications of a good heart. He will be echoed yearly, and at this point Margo will continue to be holtered every 6 months. If she continues to test with no doubles or triples I may go to once a year in the future.

And since we’re talking about all that, let’s also not forget the other breed specific health testing! Thyroid should be tested at least every few years imo, and I’d like to see it within a year of breeding. Eyes should be tested every few years also, imo, more if you’re in higher altitude. Margo’s lines have a smattering of pannus so she’ll be tested more frequently and definitely within a year of any breedings.

All puppies should be tested for DM if not cleared by parentage, but this only needs done once.

Now, aside from DM, the frequency of health testing may change depending on what issues may be common in your lines or if any issues are found. I would say the above is a bare minimum you should expect from ANY borzoi breeder, and depending on pedigrees I may need more to consider them responsible.

Another thing to consider, a breeder can do all the appropriate health testing at all times but it doesn’t mean anything if they continue to breed dogs that aren’t testing well, or are not working to breed away from their existing issues. There doesn’t exist a line of borzoi without SOME health issue, so it’s important to understand pedigrees and know what you’re getting into.

❤️I’ve noticed that people who have venus unaspected in their chart are incredibly attractive idk why???

👸Moon trine/conjunct venus is such a nice placement to have in regards to people in general but especially to the opposite sex. I feel like ppl tend to treat you more gently and kindly bc of it’s feminine energy. It gives a prince/princess charm to the natives mannerisms bc they’re so kind and warm! Men with this placement are kind of babied and seen in higher regards by women (especially older women!!) and the women are kind of protected and nurtured through men. This also goes both ways where women with this placement probably have amazing relationships with other women and the guys are that one friend who has a lowkey bromance with all of his friends lol,, It’s rlly hard to see these ppl in a malefic or fearful light.

Yet I was always aware that the person was not right for me or the situation was toxic bc of my sun conjunct pluto. I think that sun/pluto helped cancel out my delusion by making me go through a lot of intense experiences to finally understand what I was doing and see things for what they were.

🧛🏽‍♀️Going off of that I don’t care what anyone else says I LOVE MY PLUTO ASPECTS and trust me their pretty shitty (sun conjunct pluto, moon square pluto, pluto square asc). I’ve been put into some rlly crazy situations for only being 18 but I can go into the world with a lot more awareness of who I am and the people around me. I like the intensity they bring and the forcefulness of change in my habits and life. Pluto has made me a rlly strong person in terms of persevering through life and it’s challenges. I thank pluto for that.

👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼👨🏾‍🤝‍👨🏻👩🏿‍🤝‍👩🏼I think one of my favorite placements I have that is also super favorable in others is Jupiter in the 11th house! This may seem kind of random but the amount of opportunities and cool experiences I’ve been given through my friends and social circles is something I’m soo thankful for🙏 Friendship and just being a friendly person in general is something I’ve always found luck and happiness in and it’s so rewarding to have so many ppl like and support u for who u are! Ez loves to spend the whole day with your daughter. He loves Lola more than anything in this world.

Every time you tell him that he has to pick her up from school, he falls into the ‘sweetest daddy mood’. He wears one of Lola's favorites shirt of the collection he has. He also sprays some of that Hugo Boss cologne you bought for him, that EZ uses only in special occasions.

He usually rides to school ten minutes before her classes are done, enough time to buy her some flowers. He's a charming prince.

“God, your dad is fucking hot”.

Sometimes you can't understand how a thirteen year old girl can talk like that. Your daughter raised an eyebrow somewhat confused, looking at her friends because of the comment. You never warn Lola when EZ is going to pick her up, because your husband loves to surprise your little girl. The youngest Reyes is sitting sideways on his black Harley, cross-armed, holding the half-dozen of white roses and that smile that can burn down the world just in a second because of the over cuteness.

“Gid, yir did is fickin' hit”. She replies somewhat upset with a singing voice, rolling her eyes.

Grabbing her bag with a hand in the handle, she runs fast to her dad who is already walking towards her when their eyes finally meet again. EZ hugs her tightly with an arm, leaving some kisses on her cheek, before taking the bag to give her daughter the roses.

“Did you have a good day, pequeña?”

“Sí, papá. Solo… un poco largo”. (Yes, dad, just a little bit long). She says shrugging her shoulders, holding his free hand with her own to reach the motorbike.

“Ok, we're going to the clubhouse. Chucky is cooking quesadillas for you”. EZ helps her to put on the helmet, before keeping the bag in one of the leather's one at a side of the bike. “The crew is already waiting”.

“Leti is there too? I wanna show her something”. Lola asks sitting by his father back, holding somewhat better her flowers. She's a good rider, it's in her veins, and she doesn't need to wrap EZ's waist when he turns the motorcycle on.

Coco and Angel usually fight on who gets to hug her first. Both are her tíos. Lola spend a lot of time at Coco's house, because Leti usually helps her with homework. But Angel is her original tío. He understands that his brother is her father, he respect that. But he is extremely jealous with other guys. Even with women. Vicki can't hug her, because Angel is already doing it. Lola is his most precious thing in world. He took care of her since she was born, turning himself into a fucking mix of pitbull, doberman and rottweiler whenever EZ or you aren't close. His niece is a baby he must protect at all fucking cost. No matter if she was fifty years old. A. Baby. He. Must. Protect. At. All. Fucking. Cost. You understand it?

“DON'T FUCKING TOUCH HER, MAN”.

Angel is holding your daughter between his strong arms, while she's laughing so hard she almost drowns herself with her own saliva, turning over his feet to avoid everybody presence close of them. Creeper and Gilly are trying to play with her, but your brother-in-law is needy of showing Lola how precious she is. Like a fucking diamond surrounded by trash.

“IT'S MY FUCKING TURN.”

“C'MON! YOU'RE HOGGING HER, BROTHER!” Coco complains too, so furious he wants to punch Angel's face.

“WELL, SHE'S LOLA REYES. NOT LOLA CRUZ. NOT LOLA VARGAS. NOT LOLA LOPEZ. REYES. YOU FUCKIN' HEAR ME? LOLA FUCKIN' REYES. GO FIND YOUR FUCKIN' OWN NIECE”.

“Tío Angel!”

“'Amma fuckin' wrong, beautiful and precious baby, love of my life, my one and only, my princess, luz de mi vida?”

“EH, SHE'S MY DAUGHTER. BLOW ME, BITCH!”

EZ comes from nowhere, taking his daughter as if she actually is a baby. For god's sake. But she's having a lot of fun seeing how her father always wins every single battle.

Bishop only ask your husband for help when Lola is doing something with the guys, so he can be with his daughter all the time possible.

Everybody is totally in love with her. But what EZ feels for her escapes the limits of understanding. His daughter. His family. A piece of himself and a piece of the love of his life, all in one. You've been together for almost fourteen years, and she wasn't something planned: but the best gift you two could ever have.

His favorite thing to do together is lie down on the sofa, after having some delicious homemade dinner, to read her Federico Garcia Lorca's poetry. EZ has been doing it since the first time she slept at home, so small, so cute, so tiny. He has never read her fairy tales, but spanish poems. As Felipe does when they're together.

EZ has a hand caressing her back, with the small book raised on air in the other one, reciting each poem with passion.

Your husband also taught her spanish as soon as she started to talk, and you couldn't feel more proud of his daddy skills since ever, as if he had a lot of children before Lola.

He wants his little girl to run the world.

Lola knows how to fight and defend herself. She speaks english, spanish, apache (because Taza said it would be amazing) and italian. She's the smartest girl you ever knew. She's polite, gentle, loving, responsible… And you know why? Because of your husband. Yeah, you do your ‘mom work’ pretty well. But, let's be sincere, every time you see EZ being the best dad ever, you fall more for him.

EZ cries when he listens your daughter telling you how much she loves him, or asking you once and again how you two met, or comparing her dad with their friends', without knowing he's hearing her. And he also does it when you reply how much you love him, how lucky you're for finding him in life, and how much you get melted every time you find them sleeping together in the sofa after a long day waiting for you to come from the hospital.

One word for you...

Where I have not gone plastic-free:

Bread box: There are no plastic-free, airtight bread boxes that I’ve been able to find and I *must have* airtight. I make my own bread in a bread machine just because I like to, and the first few loaves I made here on the humid island grew mold within three days because my old bread box was not airtight. Bread bags are more eco-friendly but aren’t airtight, and will hold the humidity. I could find no silicon boxes and also could not find silicone containers/bags that I could be sure would be big enough to hold a loaf of bread and still close completely. I’m considering a giant silicone bag I found online, for marinating meat, so if I get that I can see if a loaf will fit inside. But I haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet, buying something just to marinate meat doesn’t fall neatly into the “I really need it now” category. So I purchased a BPA-free plastic, airtight box and it seems to be working very well. It’s so airtight that I was able to store bananas in it as well and there has been no sign of fruit flies.

Suncare: I spent two days working on the porch. I was under a roof in shade the entire time but I sunburn if I stand next to a toaster, so at the end of the second day I looked like Roy Neary in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”. As in the right half of my face was bright red. I wasn’t wearing sunscreen because it breaks me out. All of it. Every single sunscreen ever. They all break out my face, neck and chest within 20 minutes of application. So I did some research and learned about mineral sunscreens versus chemical sunscreens and after reading a lot of recommendations and reviews, I ordered Alba Botanica Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen. Yes the tube is plastic, but there’s probably no avoiding that. The sport cream is 45 SPF, waterproof for up to 80 minutes, vegan, free of all the chemicals that turn my face into a Marscape, biodegradable and - get this - reef safe. That’s a “gee how nice” for most people but now that I’m swimming around coral reefs, shit got real. They also make a spray-on but it’s not legal to ship aerosol cans to Hawaii, something about them exploding under pressure blah-bibby-blah. Pretty bummed about that. For those wondering, until now I’ve worn a sun visor whenever I’m outdoors but it didn’t occur to me to wear it on a covered porch. I’m sure it didn’t occur to Roy on a dark deserted highway in the middle of an Indiana night, either. LATER UPDATE: Native makes a mineral sunscreen and I thought it wasn't water resistant, but it turns out that it is, although I should not have had to dig so deep into their website to find this out. Better than getting anal probed, all things considered. The Alba sunscreen is very thick and hard to squeeze out of the tube, and you can feel it on your skin at first but you forget pretty quickly. It is completely unscented. You have to make sure to rub it in well if you don’t want to look a little weird. It showers off clean and easy and after a few days with it, not a single blemish! Our pharmacy sells some water resistant mineral sunscreens. I didn’t price them the last time I was there to compare with online ordering and they are probably reef-safe because as of January 1 of this year, suncreeens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate are banned in Hawaii to protect the reefs. But my next purchase will be Little Hands because it is made right here in Hawaii. I have been a big believer in ‘buy local’ for many years and they are plastic-free.

Groceries: Groceries haven’t changed. I’ve been using cloth shopping and produce bags for many years, they just bloody well work better. I do buy some foods in plastic, often there just isn’t any alternative. This was true even on the mainland. The main change is that now I walk to the store more often than not. I was able to walk to almost everything I needed when I lived in Austin’s SoCo in the early aughts and I loved it, I am so so happy to be able to do that again. Knowing I’m just a pleasant stroll away also means that I only buy what I need in the immediate future. There are a few exceptions for items that sell out very soon after the weekly supply barge comes, and don’t always get restocked even then. I drive when I have to buy heavy or awkward to carry things, like a case of soda. I’ve found conflicts with grocery choices because of a weird contradiction: non-hippie products in cardboard/paper packaging versus hippie products in plastic. I first noticed this when I went to buy sugar the other day - do I get the organic non bleached sugar in the plastic bag, or the nonorganic bleached sugar in the plastic bag? It wasn’t much of a conflict in any real world sense, just something that grabbed my attention. (I went with the plastic by the way, for the organic foodstuff that was going to go into my body).

Probably the clothesline, I have no idea what the hell that thing is made of, most likely nylon. We don’t use it for everything because it’s too humid here to dry everything in a reasonable amount of time. But we use it for some things - especially towels and swim wear - and I’m glad that we have it and it saves money on electricity. Our electricity generation here on the island is likely solar but still, no need to be greedy about it. Lots of people here have clotheslines, they are a common sight I am glad to see.

Bandages: I use Wellys. Patch bamboo bandages sound great, but I am clumsy AF and so I need bandages that are going to stay on through wet and dry and everything else. Wellys are flexible fabric, latex-free bandages made in the USA, in reusable tins that you can buy refills for if you don’t want a new tin, and that create a seal around all four edges. They are a certified B Corp so even with a bit of plastic, the company is still in line with my ethics.

Makeup: I use mostly mineral makeup, because it lasts longer (no organic ingredients to breed bacteria) and many mineral brands offer smaller quantities that are more sensible for people who don’t wear it everyday, or at least don’t wear the same colors every day. On the mainland I went weeks without wearing makeup and here I’ll probably go for months, it’s just such a casual place. I might wear some when we go across to Maui for a long weekend. But there are a lot of all natural and plastic-free makeup options out there these days, I am glad to see. If I need to replace anything I will shop with them but it’s just stupid and wasteful to toss everything out and buy new. One thing I won’t compromise on is mascara, I use Thrive because it really does what it claims, and it is still a company that aligns with my ethics. Many zero-waste brands sell cake mascara and that’s a complete nope for me. I tried cake mascara in high school, when I was going through my Audrey Hepburn/Sophia Loren makeup phase and I really didn’t like it. I also tried cake eyeliner and must confess that this elder goth never ever got the hang of liquid eyeliner, Icarus winged better than I can. I gave up a long time ago, pencil me in baby. Also, I wear lipstick, the paint-on stuff that stays on through food, drink, sex and a nuclear blast. IMO, lip balms are a waste of money and do not count as ‘makeup’, unless you’re only intention is to prevent chapped lips and with a small amount of color that lasts few minutes at a time.

Hair brush: I need a new hair brush that is designed for my long fine mane because my hair is getting a lot of punishment here, between wind and swimming and so more frequent washing and lots of pulling and tugging into braids. I bounced back and forth between Ibiza (boar bristles, wood handle) and Mason Pearson (boar bristles, plastic handle), for about half an hour. I finally decided to bite the big one and invest in the Mason Pearson. It is universally reputed as the best hair brush to be had on planet Earth. The boar bristles are either shed bristles collected from the wild in India and China or sourced from the meat industry as they are a by-product of processing farmed boar; you may ask so I will answer and yes, I do eat boar. You can purchase a brush with a handcrafted made-to-order wood handle but while I am willing to make the investment in a Mason Pearson brush, I just can’t bring myself to be so self-indulgent as to even send a price inquiry for the wood model. This is where my best friend reminds me of the lengths I went to and the price I paid to obtain a bottle of the finest Irish whiskey in the world to demonstrate that yes, I can be that self-indulgent without much convincing. I just can’t bring myself to do it with a hair brush. I purchased from Pasteur Pharmacy in NYC because they made their bones, if you will, in their early years in the 60s by catering to humans with dogs.

Bed blanket: I just couldn’t bring myself to buy a bamboo blanket/bedspread that costs in the $275 neighborhood when the dogs will be spending at least as much time on it as we will spend under it. So we went with half cotton/half bamboo for a much more reasonable price. The temps here are warm by the thermometer but the air is heavy with humidity (100% yesterday and that doesn’t necessarily mean rain), so when the fans blow it around it can be pretty damn chilly. And the dogs steal the covers.

Clothing: if I need new clothing I will consider bamboo but it’s damned expensive. I was shopping for a second bathing suit recently because I’m at the beach often enough that I need a suit to wear while the other one is drying or waiting to be laundered free of all the salt and sand that didn’t wind up in my ass or under my tits. I always thought that sand-in-uncomfortable-places was a joke, I was very wrong. I spent two hours searching for bamboo or other plant-based sustainable fabric or recycled fabric and found nothing under a hundred bucks. Nothing. Not even a thong bikini (I already have sand up my ass, I don’t need material there as well). I’m not lounging instagrammatically on Waikiki, I’m swimming in 5+ foot surf every weekend at least, so I am not willing to pay that much for a suit intended for plenty of use and punishment. I got a bikini because it will be easier to discreetly rinse most of the sand away before going back up the beach, if you know what I mean and I think you do.

And there you have it, people! We’ve spent close to 5 seasons with Dillon Simmonds, and tonight we got to understand him on a deeper level than ever before. I mean, it was already true, but tonight firmly established Dillon as the most fully realized character on the show. As for our titular character, well…

First things first, I actually think Zoe played her cards correctly tonight, despite generally being in the wrong. Giving Kat the pendant when she found it would have been the best thing to do, but she’s Zoe, so this was the next best thing. Giving it back just before or during the game might have caused animosity between the girls on the pitch, so Zoe instead went into pep talk mode. And get this: she actually sounded genuine!

Bruh, I am tide of these youngins and their drama. Eric was in the wrong in regards to the bag incident with Liam last week, but the situation is clearly more complex than that which Alba of all people should understand. As leader, she should sit them both down and have a fair and nuanced (or as nuanced as a 13 year old can be) discussion about *all* the factors that brought us to this point.

But this whole “Apologize! Don’t wanna? You can’t sit with us!” schtick that she’s pulling yet again does not sit right with my spirit. She’s minimalizing Eric’s feelings. Just because she’s ready to forgive Liam doesn’t mean Eric should be as well. Especially since her desire to forgive Liam conveniently lines up with her wanting/needing Liam to win some games. Maybe the cost of winning for Eric isn’t the same as Alba’s. And if Eric wants to run off and find himself a boo thang? YOU DO YOU, KING.

Jamie Johnson is a hot mess, and I am about to start printing #JusticeForBoggy t-shirts, 50% off Pride Month special. On the one hand, I am interested in these recent plot developments concerning Boggy because it means that his character will finally get something to work with. On the other hand, WTF Jamie? I admit that I don’t have the best memory, but did Jamie not look both ways when he was in the street? Wasn’t Jamie’s Dad not looking where he was going because he was too busy seeing dollar signs? Due to their own negligence, that makes both of them more at fault than Boggy. Not that we should be assigning fault anyway.

How, how did Jamie arrive at the conclusion that the accident was Boggy’s fault? And this is why I say those kids don’t appreciate Boggy. What he did for Jamie is perfectly in line with him being there for him literally every step of the way since season 1. Even Boggy’s involvement in the accident was because of him wanting to protect Jamie. You have to wonder, does Jamie really appreciate Boggy? His convo with Freddie said one thing, his actions told a whole nother story. If I were Boggy, I’d write Jamie a nice letter saying how I feel and then leave him all the way alone.

And Mike and the team kept heralding Jamie as someone they should be fighting for. Jamie not wearing any team colors, not cheering anybody on, not even wanting to be in a picture is to me not somebody I want to be inspired by. If I were Kat (having shown up with no knowledge of the team), I literally wouldn’t even think twice about Jamie since he clearly cannot be bothered. I get that he’s angry, but he can’t just lash out at the people who have been most supportive of him.

Anyways, I am glad that the team won and went out on a high note. Even though Jamie’s a mess, this was still Dillon’s episode. And it was great. We got more “straight” puns, we got the hintiest-hint of Delliot, but most importantly we got several acknowledgments of how far Dillon has come. And now that he’s coming to terms with himself *and* may have secured the bag with Foxborough, Dillon may well be entering the greatest years of his life yet.

It’s amazing just how far we have come with gay characters. When I was Disney Channel young, that was simply unheard of. Now, so many teen dramas have some variation of LGBT representation, and what with shows like this, Diary of a Future President, and Andi Mack, even the tweens are starting to tell more stories. I will say that my peeps from across the pond are much more firm and uncensored and unapologetic about their message, which makes the whole thing feel more genuine.

So there you have it. Now that we’re halfway through, there’s a few questions left to answer. Will Jack show up one more time to get Zoe more pressed than a panini sandwich? Is Dillon about to embark on a coming-out journey, or is he about to be outed? How much of a dick can Liam and Dillon’s Dad be? Is Delliot even a thing? Will the girls get their chance to get on the women’s team? Will Alba stop doing the absolute most? Is Indira ever going to come back on this show in any capacity? Will there be justice for Boggy?

Questions that need answers.

BTW, y’all did notice the missing scene, right? And did you see that the Indian guy who replaced Kat was behind Mike again when he cheered at the final goal?

Author’s notes: we coming closer to the end and I already have plans for a sequel, but still not sure which ending I’m going for!

Summary: Keanu and Lilah meet at the set of John Wick. Rom-com shenanigans ensues

Keanu couldn’t remember the last time he had to do this, meet a girlfriend's family. Then again, it had been quite a while since he’d been with someone long enough to consider them a girlfriend. But if jumping on a plane like a mad man so he could be with Lilah in her time of need didn’t make her Keanu's girlfriend; if it didn’t show exactly how serious this thing between them had become, Keanu didn’t know what else could.

That was why his heart was beating wildly and his hands felt clammy as Lilah led him into the waiting room for the surgical center. Keanu was thankful that he had the forethought of taking a few moments at the airport to freshen up and change clothes. The last thing he needed was to meet Lilah's parents smelling like he had spent almost 20 hours inside airplanes.

When they walked into the room, three people turned to look, and Keanu tried to swallow around the lump of anxiety on his throat. He spotted Lilah's mother right away. She was an older version of her daughter, with only a few subtle differences. Her was eyes were a shade darker, but they have the same warmth that Lilah’s had, even though they were watching Keanu with curiosity and confusion.

“Mom,” Lilah started, her voice trembling slightly, and Keanu was only a little relieved to see that he wasn’t the only one nervous. “I’d like you to me Keanu. My, uh... boyfriend.” Her mother’s eyes widen a little as she glanced back to Keanu. “Keanu, this is my mom, Alba.”

“Pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Bennett,” Keanu said, discreetly drying his palm on his jeans before shaking her hands. “I wish it was under better circumstances.”

“Nice to meet you too, Keanu,” she replied her voice carrying the same melodic accent Lilah sometimes let it slip, but Alba’s was much more prominent.

“This is Susan, Jamie’s mom,” Lilah introduced the gesturing to the blonde woman sitting next to Alba. She nodded at Keanu with wide eyes and he nodded back, fighting off the awkwardness he felt under their scrutiny.

Lilah took a seat at her mom’s side and Keanu sat next to her, trying to ignore the way Susan kept sneaking glances at him. He wondered if his age or his career caught her attention the most. Probably both.

He glanced sideways at Lilah, at the way she was twisting her hands together, knee bouncing nervously. Keanu took one of her hands in his, squeezing slightly and she looked over at him and smiled.

She looked exhausted, face pale and dark circles under her eyes and he wondered for how long she had been up? Probably as long as he had been. He shifted on the ratty couch, bringing an arm around her shoulders and Lilah cuddled closer to his side, resting her cheek against his chest. He caressed her arm softly, humming a little under his breath because he knew it relaxed her and after a few minutes, he felt her breath evening out and knew Lilah had fallen asleep.

“She really needed that,” Mrs. Bennett said in a low voice, startling Keanu. “Rest.”

“Yeah,” he nodded, looking down at the sleeping woman in his arms and couldn’t help the small smile. “She can be a little stubborn sometimes.”

“She thinks she can’t show weakness,” she said, her expression softening as she watched Lilah too. “She gets that from her father, unfortunately. It was nice of you to be here for her. Thank you.”

Keanu just nodded, startling a little when the doors for the OR opened and a man in surgical gown stepped out. He was as tall as Keanu, his hair more gray than black, his blue eyes sharp and intense. Everyone stood up when he walked in so Keanu nudged Lilah gently to wake her.

“He’s in ICU, but it’s looking good,” the man said, his smile bright and relieved. “He’s still under sedation and can’t have visitors just yet, but he should be ok.�� There was a collective sigh of relief as they all hug each other.

Keanu noticed the exact moment that the man spotted him, catching the way Lilah was still pressed against him, slowly returning to consciousness. His expression shifted, eyes narrowing and expression turning stormy. Keanu realized that he wasn’t just a doctor, he was Lilah’s father.

“And who are you?”

Keanu didn’t know exactly if it was his voice or his tone that made Lilah snap to attention, back straight like someone just rammed a rod up her spine. She stood up and Keanu could almost see her bracing herself for conflict.

“Dad, this is Keanu,” she said her voice much steadier than when she spoke with her mom. “My boyfriend.”

“Boyfriend?” He repeated, frown deepening into a scowl, his face turning reddish. “Boyfriend?”

“Frank,” Alba whispered, laying a hand on her husband's shoulder. “This isn’t the time or place.” Keanu saw how Frank’s eyes seemed to flash in barely contained anger, but he nodded, looking away from Lilah and Keanu.

“I’m staying to keep an eye on him, but you all should go home. Tomorrow he should be up for visits.”

Keanu saw Frank sharing a quick look with Alba before he went back through the doors, no goodbyes, no other words. He glanced at Lilah and she had her lips pressed together in a tight, tense line, her shoulders hunched, her eyes downcast and Keanu realized that she was fighting the urge to cry. He considered pulling her into his arms. All he wanted was to protect her at all costs, even from her father but something told him it wouldn’t be appreciated. Not right now anyway.

Susan was the first to go, and while Alba made a quick visit to the restroom, Keanu turned to Lilah. Some of the tension on her expression had eased a little but it was still there.

“I should find a hotel to stay the night,” he said, pulling out his phone, which he had finally charged at the airport. His screen showed several missed messages and calls, all of which Keanu flicked away. He would deal with all of this later.

“You’re staying with us, babe,” Lilah said making him look up in surprise.

“Are you sure that’s a good idea considering…” he glanced at the doors her father had disappeared into and she nodded, the hard glint on her eyes was the same he had seen in Frank’s.

“I don’t care. You’re staying with us. He’s gonna have to deal with it.”

“Ok,” he sighed in resignation. The last thing he wanted was to get into a pissing contest with Lilah’s dad, but he didn’t want to upset her either.

Keanu followed the two Bennett women to the parking lot outside and he should’ve known his presence wouldn’t go unnoticed in the hospital because there were a couple of photographers outside, camera flashes blinding as they put their carry-ons in the truck and drove off. He needed to give his publicist a heads up when he got to Bennett’s house.

The drive was made in a strange silence, not exactly awkward, but not comfortable either, but fortunately, it was a short one and soon enough they were pulling into the driveway of a large two-store house with a gorgeous front garden. Alba led the way inside, dropping her keys on the side table by the door, before turning to Lilah and Keanu.

“I’ll get the guest room ready,” she announced, already taking a step towards the stairs.

“Mom, Keanu’s staying with me. In my room,” Lilah replied, and Keanu had to fight off the urge to wince. Especially at the way Alba’s eyebrows raised a little as she looked from her daughter to Keanu.

“Honey…” she trailed off as she caught her daughter’s stubborn frown. “Alright.”

Lilah just nodded, turning to Keanu and gesturing him to follow as she went up the stairs and into one of the rooms, flickering the lights on. He stood at the doorway, looking around because this was the room she grew up in.

He took in the dark blue walls a sharp contrast with the white furniture. The shelves were overflowing with books, DVDs, a couple of stuffed animals and other trinkets, but there were also several medals and trophies. There were a desk and chair to the side, with a bulletin board filled with yellowing pictures. By the window a worn-out armchair and floor lamp and Keanu could almost see a teen Lilah curling up in that seat, legs tucked under her as she read one of her novels. He could see in the walls the stains of glue at some spots, so he knew there must have been several posters around the walls too, making him wonder what they were.

“You can put your suitcase wherever you want,” she said bringing him back from his reveries. “Bathroom’s through there if you wanna take a shower,” Lilah said, turning to look at him and for the first time since they had to do the whole song and dance of introducing Keanu, her expression had softened and didn’t look like she was getting ready to face a battle. “I’m really glad you’re here.”

“And I’ll always be,” he assured, kissing her nose to make her giggle in that way that he loved. “I’m sorry for all the problems I caused though.” Keanu almost regretted saying it by the way her smile fell and she looked away from him.

“That’s not on you. He’s just so…” she let out a frustrated huff. “He still treats me like I’m 9 instead of 29.”

“He’s your dad, Lil,” Keanu said, brushing her cheek and pressing a kiss on her forehead. “It’s understandable that he’s protective of you.”

“It’s still annoying,” Lilah complained sighing and stepping away from. Keanu could see the exhaustion into her expression again and he nudged her towards the bathroom. “You go first.”

“You could always join me,” she said wiggling her eyebrows and Keanu chuckled.

“One: we both too tired for that,” he pointed out and Lilah laughed as she began to undress. “And two: there is absolutely no situation in which I’d agree to have sex in your parents’ house.”

“You’re sure?” she asked, standing in front of him completely naked and Keanu felt his body hot with desire, especially at the sight of the bite mark on her shoulder and the fading bruises on her hips.

“I’m sure,” he said, turning away from her. “Go shower, Lil.”

“You know I like a challenge, right?” she said, pressing her body against his back and Keanu let out a long shuddering breath, especially when she kissed his neck.

A moment later, she was moving away from him and he only turned around again when he heard the door closing. Keanu let out a long sigh. She was going to be the death of him for sure.

He took the time to go through his suitcase searching for something to put on after his shower. He was dangerously close to running out of clean clothes. After a second of consideration, he moved to the bathroom door.

“Can I use your laundry?” he asked.

“What?” Lilah shouted back over the noise of the water. With an eye-roll, Keanu pushed the door open, peeking his head inside.

“Can I use your laundry?”

“Sure. Downstairs, down the corridor, the kitchen’s through the left, laundry is right next to it.”

“Thanks.”

Keanu gathered his dirty clothes on his arms, following the path Lilah described him and indeed finding the laundry through a door next to the kitchen. He dumped his load on the machine and went through the process of getting the circle ready.

When he stepped back into the kitchen, he was startled to see Alba standing by the stove, watching the kettle almost as if completely lost in thought. She looked over when she noticed Keanu standing there.

“Lilah said it was ok to use the machine,” he explained, gesturing at the laundry. Was he always this awkward around parents? Alba just nodded, glancing back at the kettle that had just started whistling.

“I’m just making myself some tea. Would you like some?”

“Sure,” Keanu nodded, taking a seat at the kitchen table. A moment later, she brought over two cups and he smiled at the familiar smell of cinnamon.

“It’s her favorite,” he commented, nodding his thanks and Alba smiled.

“Mine too.”

They sat in silence, each nursing their cup and Keanu tried to ignore the way she kept sneaking glances at him, but every once in a while he unintentionally caught her eye, her gaze uncertain, curious. She would look away with a small huff.

“I’m sorry, it’s just very strange to have you sitting here in my kitchen,” Alba finally said, and Keanu just met her gaze with a questioning look. “I was used to see you on her computer and on the posters on her wall.”

“She had posters?” he asked with a grin and Alba chuckled and nodded.

“From that movie with all the green and the computers.”

“The Matrix,” Keanu said with a chuckle of his own.

“Yes. That’s the one. It’s one of her favorites,” Alba said, and he nodded. That he had figured already. “I wish she would’ve at least told me she was seeing someone.”

“To be fair, it’s kinda new,” Keanu explained with a sheepish smile. “We were both a bit clueless at first, but I really care for your daughter, Mrs. Bennett.”

“I know,” she said with a warm smile that immediately settled Keanu’s nerves. “And I think it’s a bit more than care.” She gave him a knowing look and he chuckled again, duckling his head because he knew he was blushing. “As long as she’s happy, I’m ok with this.”

“Thank you.”

“Are you two talking about me?” Lilah asked, padding barefoot into the kitchen and wrapping her arms around her mom’s neck and Keanu smiled. They could pass off as sisters instead of mother and daughter.

“Yes. I was about to bring out the baby pictures,” Alba said, and Lilah’s eyes went comically wide.

“No! Absolutely not!” Lilah said, shaking her head and Keanu grinned slyly.

“Now I wanna see it. I bet you were an adorable kid.”

“The cutest!” Alba cooed, looking up at her daughter with a soft smile. “Chubby cheeks and untamable hair. Always reaching for the camera.”

Lilah rolled her eyes, but there was a fond smile playing on the corner of her lips. She stepped back as Alba got up, bringing her cup to the sink.

“You two don’t stay up too late,” she said, kissing her daughter’s cheek and whispering something in Portuguese to Lilah that made her laugh. “Good night.”

“What was that about?” Keanu asked after Alba moved away and Lilah sat on his lap.

“She said the long hair suits you. She’s not a fan of the beard, though,” Lilah explained with a giggle and Keanu laughed. “Don’t worry. I like the beard.” She winked.

“I know,” he replied with a smirk, rubbing his cheek against her neck and making Lilah squeak and giggle. He was glad to see she had finally managed to relax some more now that she knew her brother would be ok. “I’m gonna take that shower.”

After his shower, dressed in a clean pair of sweatpants and shirt, Keanu went through the task of returning messages and calls, making sure everyone knew where he was and why. Chad and Dave were very understanding of the entire thing, but he would need to be back by Monday, or they would be behind schedule. His publicist was none too happy with the fact that she would have to deal with paparazzi photos of him, but it was too late now. That genie was out of the bottle.

He was at the end of his call with Kim when Lilah finally came back, crawling in bed with him and Keanu spread his arm so she could cuddle against his side like he knew she was fond of. It was almost and automatic motion by now.

“I switched your clothes to the dryer,” she said, and Keanu winced. He had completely forgotten about laundry.

“Sorry.”

“It’s fine. I don’t mind.” Lilah shrugged and yawning and tilting her head up to look at him. “Are you gonna get any heat from your people because of those photos outside the hospital?”

“Doesn’t matter,” he assured, kissing her forehead in reassurance and brushing her cheek and jaw. “It was bound to happen sooner or later.”

“I know,” she sighed, bringing his thumb into her mouth and Keanu gave her a warning look. “I just don’t want you to get any backslash from studios or fans for dating me. Besides, I wouldn’t really mind being on the background.”

“I mind,” Keanu replied, leaning closer for a kiss. “You’re my girlfriend and not some dirty little secret. Studios and fans gonna have to deal with it if they don’t like it.” Lilah flashed him a pleased little smile and cuddled close to him. “Let’s get some sleep. It has been a long twenty-four hours.”

“Yeah,” she sighed, settling against him and whispering something against his chest. The words were familiar, even if he didn’t understand her. It was the same thing she had drunkenly mumbled on the cab that first time they slept together.

“I don’t know what that means,” Keanu said with a frown, looking down at Lilah. She looked up again and he could see the hesitation in her face, in the way she bit her lip.

“It means I love you,” Lilah finally said with a small, shy smile. Keanu grinned, his chest warm and bent down to kiss her.

“I love you too.”

Jane the Virgin 2x22 Chapter Fourty-Four

Stray thoughts

1) I get that it’s part of the Latino culture, but I kind of wish we would be done with this “women are obsessed over weddings and they dream about having the perfect wedding since they’re young and their whole lives revolve around this one goal”. I could maybe understand if it was about marriage, but it’s about getting married, having a dream wedding, and it all seems so shallow to me. I understand this is a wedding episode, but I wish they would’ve found a new angle instead of relying on the outdated “I’ve dreamed about this day since I was little” trope. It simply puts me off.

2) Will Jane really lose her virginity? Why do I feel she won’t? Like, I feel this is one of those shows that takes its title way too seriously and they will purposefully prevent Jane from having sex as long as they can. And I feel the only way she wouldn’t have sex is if she doesn't get married or if something was to happen to Michael, right?

3) Oh, damn, Luisa is going to be back? Not the moron, again!

4) Jane called Rafael over to share with him that Mateo had just taken his first steps, which was very co-parenting of her and I totally endorse it. Of course, the moment is ruined both for Rafael and me when he’s reminded that Mateo will walk down the aisle during Jane’s wedding to Michael…

And now he’s entertaining the idea of declaring his love to Jane and stopping the wedding? Are we really back to this? This is terrible writing, I’m sorry. Is this the only arc they can give Rafael? Forever pine for Jane?

The cat is out of the bag.

6) Jane and Michael are fighting over the honeymoon arrangements and budget and I feel this doesn’t bode well…

7) Xiomara and Rogelio arrive late and set up in motion a chain of events that end up with Mateo nearly killing the priest during the rehearsal. Jane confronts them and tells them to get their shit together until after the wedding, and I find myself siding with her, for once.

8) Anezka and Magda are planning something sketchy during Jane’s wedding, right? But what, exactly? And more importantly, why? Just out of the evilness of their hearts? Or do they actually have some ulterior motive?

9) Well, for once, the moron didn’t act like a total moron. She actually told Rafael he should keep his mouth shut and let Jane go.

10) Alba ends up confessing that her wedding was actually a disaster and that the veil she’s given to Jane doesn’t actually belong to her family, and they all just... laugh it off? But if I were Jane I would be at least a bit peeved? I mean, this is the wedding story upon which all her fantasies and dreams were built? Alba’s retelling of her perfect wedding is the reason why she’s dreamed about her own wedding since she was a little girl? It’s the second time Alba’s fabricated stories have shaped Jane’s fundamental principles and goals in life and her personality, and I don’t understand why she’s not even slightly bothered by it? Am I crazy? Shouldn’t she be having an identity crisis? And how come Alba is such a hypocrite and no one calls her out on it?

11) Oh, Michael, just when I was starting to like you, you boil down feminism to this…

And this is shown as a very sweet moment between the two of them, they're having this all-nighter about all the important points to discuss before they get married, but… isn’t this a conversation they should’ve had way before the night before the actual wedding?

12) Now, Jane needs to pitch her new thesis on her way to the wedding. She gets her thesis approved, and she ends up having her professor get her into the wedding dress. And this is probably my favorite line in the show so far…

13) Rogelio left the car running with the AC on and now it’s broken down, and Rogelio is having a breakdown. Jane calms him down and they decide to take a bus, which I feel is the perfect way for Jane to arrive at her wedding.

14) And this is how she arrives at the church…

I just love that Rogelio is the one to be by her side throughout this whole ordeal.

15) Ugh, the fucker did it.

Such a selfish, asshole move.

16) Oh, nevermind, he really didn’t. I don’t take it back, though. I still think he’s a selfish asshole.

17) Michael learned his vows in Spanish. That’s very sweet. He’s going to die, right?

18) The choir and everyone in the church telling her to go have sex was a great callback to early season 1.

19) Okay…

How did this little show manage to get huge stars? Britney, Bruno Mars, fucking Charo! (I actually wonder how many people watching the show knew who the fuck Charo is before watching the episode where she had the cameo...)

20) Petra breaks down after Jane’s wedding, thinking what she just witnessed is something she’ll never attain. Just as she’s crying, one of her babies starts laughing, and she’s instantly reminded of the only true love that matters.

21) Aw, Rogelio called Michael his son.

22) Jane and Rogelio got their own dance routine…

And I just remembered how she was crying while dress shopping with Xiomara after finding out she’d been lied to about her father her whole life.

Also, when exactly would they have found the time to learn and rehearse this little routine...? Makes no sense!

23) Is this… Anezka?

Or has she done something to Petra and taken her place?

24) Is anyone interested in this couple at all?

I mean, what role do they serve other than acting as the token lesbian couple, because there obviously can only be only one of those!

25) Rogelio and Xiomara have a very sweet, honest conversation in which they both admit they still want to be with each other but they haven’t changed their minds about wanting/not wanting to have kids. And again, they prove to be most mature and reasonable people in this show. They did act petty and childish at first, but they always find a way to have an honest, grown-up conversation about whatever is bothering them, and most importantly, they don’t let whatever that is draw them apart. They might not be together right now, but they will continue to care for each other.

26) Anezka is apparently paralyzed, except…

Called it. By the way, how does Anezka manage to speak perfect English when she pretends to be Petra but she reverses back to her broken English when she’s herself? It doesn’t make any sense. And what is the end game of this plan? Just woo Rafael? Get the hotels and his money? Well, I guess this is an answer…

30) And this is pushing my suspension of disbelief…

I guess this is why the moron fell in love with Michael’s partner.

I’m really not “wow, holy shit!” about this because I always felt they would bring Rose back, and it also doesn’t feel like an earned plot twist, you know? Usually, this type of plot twists work better when they shock you but you also feel like a fool because the clues had been there all along. This reveal? Not so much. They did plant the seeds in this very same episode, but that’s hardly good writing.

31) Well, that was an extremely soapy finale. There are so many loose threads it’s difficult to keep track – Michael got shot and we don’t know if he’s dead or alive, Rose is back, Rafael and “Petra” slept together, Petra is petrafied, AND Xiomara is pregnant. Although it was a very entertaining hour, I feel the show only manages to keep me thoroughly entertained during high stakes episodes like this, a finale. A whole lot happened in this hour, but not enough during the season, in my opinion. And we still need to see how all of these plots that have been set up will carry to season 3. There are many things about this show that I’m kind of done with, and to be honest, I haven’t really seen what everyone seems to see in it, why it is supposed to be so great. Two seasons in, and I’m still not sold. Except for Rogelio. Rogelio is a cinnamon roll and should be protected at all costs.

Biography:

Alba was put into an orphanage not even a year after she was born, but with a different name. She was born Darla Annabelle Santez. She was left on the doorstep of a small orphanage in Cork, Ireland. She grew up there until the age of seven when the mistress said that they could no longer handle her attitude. She was then sent to another orphanage, she lasted a month at this one. Then she went to another, and another. That was until she was fifteen and after six months of planning, she left.

She sneaked out of her current orphanage which wasn’t hard, a run down building with minimal security for the children. She had a little money saved together from petty crimes she had committed, mainly a bit of thieving and occasionally selling drugs if she could get away with it without someone telling her mistress. However it wasn’t enough to catch a boat, so she had to sneak onto the boat as well. This was more difficult but she had a good cover story. On the boat she met a man, a man who offered to get her false papers to change her name. She paid the man with all the money she had and he gave her papers.

She was now Alba Donaghue Santez. She kept her last name as it was the only tie to her family that she had. She did not know them, but she felt deep down they had a good reason for not wanting her. Perhaps she was wrong, perhaps she was right but it did not matter. Alba had arrived in Moscow and was determined to begin a new life. She lived on the streets (and occasionally cheap rooms) for years until she turned twenty two. She got a job as a server and managed to turn her wreck of life into something that she found worth living.

Alba’s main priority is to look after herself, always. She’ll do whatever she has to do to stay alive. She’ll steal, fight and seduce. The only thing she has managed not to do is kill. She finds that thought makes her sick to her stomach. She now lives in a small apartment by herself. She was optimistic before the war, always hoping for a better life. Now, she is cynical and loud. She will do anything to get what she wants.

Lover, Lover: This would be someone that Alba sleeps with regularly. Alba has romantic feelings for this person, and she enjoys their company but she has yet to admit that this is more then one of her usual flings to them. (Male or Woman) (0/1)
