Decades later we are still talking about ERP failures - WHY!?
In what way will challenges with ERP solutions in the past help us succeed with AI solutions today?
“When ERP was in its heyday, CEOs and business executives wanted reliable and integrated solutions, so they seized upon ERP as the way to provide this,” said Mr. Kyte. “Business stakeholders still want these same qualities, but now they assume that these qualities will be present in any software solution, and their requirements have switched to the twin concerns of lowering IT costs and seeking…

The Usage of Generative AI in Stock Price Prediction
Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has gained prominence in the realm of financial markets for its ability to analyze and forecast stock prices. With the advent of advanced models and large datasets, financial institutions and investors are increasingly leveraging generative AI to enhance stock price prediction. This document delves into the applications of generative AI in the context of stock price forecasting.
Tumblr media
Time Series Analysis
Historical Data Generation
Generative AI is employed to create synthetic time series data that closely mimics historical stock price movements. This synthetic data is used for testing and refining trading strategies, risk models, and predictive algorithms without relying solely on real-world data.
Data Augmentation
Generative AI models help in expanding existing datasets for stock price prediction. By generating additional data points, investors and traders can enhance the robustness of their predictive models and improve accuracy in forecasting.
Market Sentiment Analysis
Generative AI is instrumental in analyzing market sentiment:
Text Data Generation: AI models can generate synthetic news articles, social media posts, and financial reports to simulate various market sentiment scenarios. This aids in assessing the impact of public sentiment on stock prices.
Sentiment Score Generation: AI models can generate sentiment scores based on textual data, which can be used as an additional feature in predictive models.
Technical Analysis
Generative AI assists in technical analysis for stock price prediction:
Pattern Generation: AI models can generate synthetic stock price patterns and chart data, allowing traders to test various technical indicators and strategies.
Candlestick Patterns: AI can create synthetic candlestick patterns for analysis, contributing to improved trading decisions.
Predictive Modeling
Generative AI plays a significant role in predictive modeling:
Feature Engineering: AI models can generate new features or synthetic indicators that enhance the accuracy of predictive models.
Price Forecasting: Using historical data and AI-generated features, models can forecast stock prices, making use of advanced algorithms and neural networks.
Portfolio Optimization
Generative AI is employed for portfolio optimization and risk management:
Monte Carlo Simulations: AI models generate simulated stock price paths, which are used for Monte Carlo simulations to optimize portfolios and determine risk-adjusted returns.
Scenario Analysis: Investors use AI-generated scenarios to understand how various events might impact their portfolio’s performance.
Risk Assessment
Generative AI models are used for risk assessment in stock trading:
Volatility Prediction: AI models generate synthetic volatility data that helps in assessing the level of risk associated with a stock.
Value-at-Risk (VaR) Analysis: AI-generated data is used in VaR calculations to estimate potential losses under different market conditions.
Forecast Visualization
Generative AI is instrumental in the visualization of stock price forecasts:
Predictive Charts: AI can generate synthetic charts displaying predicted stock price movements, aiding investors and traders in making more informed decisions.
Heatmaps: AI-generated heatmaps can help visualize potential stock price scenarios and identify patterns.
Future Enhancement
Generative AI has the potential to enhance the accuracy and reliability of stock price prediction, ultimately leading to more informed investment decisions. However, it’s important to note that stock market prediction is a complex and inherently uncertain task, and while generative AI can provide valuable insights, it cannot guarantee absolute accuracy. Investors and financial institutions must consider the limitations and ethical implications of using AI in stock trading and continuously monitor and adapt to changing market conditions. As generative AI technology continues to advance, it is expected to play an increasingly pivotal role in the field of stock price prediction.

How to turn off AI Training of your content on Web and Mobile:
On a Web Browser:
Tumblr media
I had some trouble finding this option. My first instinct was to click the settings button on the left, but that's where it is!
First, you'll click the name of your blog on the left sidebar to bring it up on your browser.
Tumblr media
Then click "Blog settings" on the right sidebar once your blog is brought up. That's where they're hiding it.
Tumblr media
Click "Prevent Third-Party Sharing" under the Visibility section, and bam! You're done.
On Mobile:
Tumblr media
Thankfully it's much easier on mobile. Just click the Gear icon on your blog's page, to go to settings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scroll all the way down until you see Visibility, then toggle the Prevent third-party sharing option for your blog!!
If you disable this setting on mobile, it automatically synced it to my web browser settings, too. ...But if you use both Web and Mobile, I would still highly recommend double checking that it actually turned off on both!!
Check that it's turned off on your side blogs too! And check your settings every now and then anyway to ensure that it's staying turned off, because if my memory serves right, some other websites will pull some shenanigans on things like this and opt you back in without telling you!
Leave Feedback on New Features at Tumblr Support Here!! Let Staff know however we can that having our content fed to AI at their whim is unacceptable.
And if you have the option to poison your art with Nightshade or Glaze, keep it up!!

Fujifilm GFX Needs These to Compete with Full Frame
Always remember that it isn't really medium format.
It’s a known fact that the Fujifilm GFX system is designed to compete with full-frame cameras. But logically speaking, full-frame cameras are much more capable. Image quality aside, they’ve got faster autofocus, more useful technology, more lenses, and quite the head start. On the other hand, the Fujifilm GFX series have image quality that’s very difficult to duplicate. With their cameras…

Man deleting Duolingo REALLY sucks. I felt like I'd built up a nice little learning habit, yknow? And ofc the whole "breaking the streak" feels bad. But there's no point if they're just going to replace it with AI.

A 30-Second Video: Which comes first, the data or AI?
In a “which came first, the chicken or the egg scenario,” watch the 30-second video and then tell me how you reconcile the two statements afterward. AI implementation expediency first, and clean data later? How do we reconcile the following two “procurement data” statements:“Procurement is a profoundly data-driven discipline with great potential for becoming the company’s central data hub and…

Whats whack about this whole tumblr mess is that people can just post shit that aint theirs. Like.... they know that right. What the fuck are they even thinking? People have reposted my stuff, I handle it when I catch it as best I can but I can't monitor everything. I'm sure other people have it way worse. How can we trust that bad actors, art thieves, uneducated kids or bot accounts aren't inadvertently giving away our art to these scrapers. How are we supposed to keep track of it all. What the hell is the point of this whole mess when people can't even protect their art from secondhand theft, now we gotta deal with thirdhand theft too, fourthhand theft. I can't imagine anybody wanting this or knowingly consenting to this.

one thing that really gives me hope re: ai generated images & text is this wacom situation. whatever they saved on hiring a promotional artist is going to be lost to all the customers who drop them now and i hope that sends a message.
i hope in the future it becomes such a faux pas to use ai generated art that no organization feels comfortable doing so, and the companies who spent hundreds of millions of dollars training their plagiarism machines can't recoup any of it and go broke :3

Sometimes I feel like the discourse about AI art misses the actual point of why it’s not a good tool to use.
“AI art isn’t ‘real’ art.” —> opinion-based, echoes the same false commentary about digital art in general, just ends up in a ‘if you can’t make your own store-bought is fine’ conversation, implies that if art isn’t done a certain way it lacks some moral/ethical value, relies on the emotional component of what art is considered “real” or not which is wildly subjective
“AI art steals from existing artists without credit.” —> fact-based, highlights the actual damage of the tool, isn’t relying on an emotional plea, can actually lead to legally stopping overuse of AI tools and/or the development of AI tools that don’t have this problem, doesn’t get bogged down in the ‘but what if they caaaaan’t make art some other way’ argument
Like I get that people who don’t give a shit about plagiarism aren’t going to be swayed, but they weren’t going to be swayed by the first argument either. And the argument of “oh well AI art can’t do hands/isn’t as good/can’t do this thing I have decided indicates True Human Creativity” will eventually erode since… the AI tools are getting better and will be able to emulate that in time. It just gets me annoyed when the argument is trying to base itself on “oh this isn’t GOOD art” when AI does produce interesting and appealing images and the argument worth having is much more about the intrinsic value of artists than the perceived value of the works that are produced.

i got new marker paper that i really love and wanted to make something with it but unfortunately i feel like i’m in a bit of a burnout period 😅😅😅 tried to redraw merli’s official artwork since she’s one of my favorite vocaloid designs but i feel like i’ve lost my touch a little. originally completed 1/18/24 but i was so back and forth about whether i liked it enough to post before i realized that doesn’t matter that much. gotta work myself back up when it comes to drawing traditionally (and large)
