realized i have 5 bratoviches

I only have art of 3 of them . . .

Rattler Bratovich, 33, Second in Command of the Family Homestead and local menace. She wasn't Embraced, not like Molly, but is the oldest of the Bratovich girls there and the second-oldest of the 'Kiddos' at the homestead-- the only older one is Elijah, who spends most of his time off the land and looking for meat to kidnap for the Tzimisce. Rattler's fucked up eye lets her see spirits/wraiths/etc if she closes her other eye and focuses and is an implant from Gulo, the Tzimisce who maintains their home.

More Rattler Sketches, because she's a terrible woman and I love her dearly. Rattler is both victim and perpetrator; she's trapped in a situation she had no chance of escaping, and has been made into something truly horrid -- but the fact that she never had a chance to be anything else makes her a bit... tragic. It's one thing to be a monster because you wanted to, but another entirely to be born into a Revenant House-- and in particular, the house with the reputation for being the most fucked up out of them all, you know? She's not a good person by any means, but she is a good character. You've all seen Molly, of course, and she's Bratovich number 2 -- 7th/8th gen Tzimisce, got locked in a shed for a while until she picked up the flesh-warping practices properly, all of that.

Abbot of the Garden Snakes, Molly has a sense of hospitality that makes her a natural for the position. She shares what she has with the rest of the pack, and gets very frustrated when dealing with Cainites who are more selfish. She understands it, but... c'mon.

Then there's Patchwork/Patchcoat "Patch" Bratovich, the Bone Gnawer Hillfolk Ahroun who hates humans, hates the society of Garou, and refuses to listen to a lot of what the Nation proposes. She hates you, if you're a Silver Fang, a Black Fury, a Talon, a Coggie -- she fucking hates you, because where the fuck were you when the Kin-Blooded Bratovich were suffering? Where were you?

Black Furies in particular really make her mad.

Patch fights the Wyrm, but she doesn't have a pack. She doesn't often attend Moots. She refuses to associate with a lot of the Garou of the Nation, because she thinks they're all just fucked up angry failures who don't actually care about the world beyond their narrow view. She does a lot of work with the poor and the suffering, though, and actually knows a few healing gifts. Patch's Rage is fuelled by what she's seen.

When she was first-changed, Ma Bratovich leashed her up and put her in a silver cage. The muzzle and the scars that are burned into her skin left Patch in a near-constant state of Frenzy. It was there that Rat reached out to her and offered something more than just... being imprisoned.

The fourth Bratovich is Mar'yagh, and she's a Black Spiral Dancer Galliard. Not from Molly/Patch/Rattler's branch of the family, Mar'yagh was fourteen when she Changed, and was immediately driven out to a rural Pit where she was made to Dance the Spiral. Mar'yagh seems pretty normal, and actually has a series of gifts to hide her wyrm-taint. She's amicable, ambling, and has a series of good jokes.

But the Rage is there, and the Wyrm is there, and sometimes her head just hurts, you know?

Her personal Patron is Singing Bat.

The fifth and least-developed Bratovich is Winona (Winnie/Wyn) Bratovich. She's either going to be a Hunter of some kind or a Widderslainte, and I'm not too sure what I want to do with her yet.

They really thought they had them cornered. Had her cornered. They really, honestly thought it. Kyoko could feel the feral grin creeping onto her face, her knuckles cracking as she clenched her fists.

“Oh? You bastards want a fight, huh?” She laughed, the voice of her Rage already singing in her veins. “Come on. Try me, fuckers!” She could feel the presence of her fellow sentai members behind her, but she was the vanguard, the wrecking ball. Her bones creaked and cracked as she shifted forms while she charged the nearest fomori, crinos jaws clamping down around its neck as she lifted it into the air and tossed it aside like a piece of street litter. Even as Jackie’s howl filled her ears, she tore through abomination after abomination, blood staining her black fur and razor sharp claws. She lost track of time, lost track of how many she tore apart, how many she sank her teeth and claws into.

And then there was a light pressure on her shoulder, a soft cawing in her sharp ears before a beak ran through her fur. Sharp crimson eyes snapped to the source, and she found her Rage dwindling, her mind losing the haze of battle that had settled over it. Kid sat on her shoulder, the teenaged tengu acting as her ground once more.

“I’m here, sister. We all are.” One by one, the feel of other paws, talons, or hands rested on her fur, the soft or rumbling sound of their voices coaxing her back from the bloodlust. She let out a shaky breath, head turning so she could look back at the rest of the Silk Road Sentai.

“I’m here. I’m here.”

What the WtA Index is, and what it can do for you!

So alright. What on earth is this Index? What's it going to be any good for? Let's find out!

Legacy WtA is big. It stretches thirty years, four editions, and my list of pertinent sources for the game (not even complete yet!) numbers over 200. Newer books are easily searched if you have a PDF, but older ones not so much - especially if the subject you're looking for is referred to in oblique ways that don't provide a handy key search term. And even with the newer PDFs, you gotta know to even check in the first place!

So I've been trawling through the books, keeping page numbers about subjects as they arise. As an example, here's the current entry for "Ahroun", an admittedly very simple subject with frequent mentions:

Holy moly! Of course, they're not all that huge. You get entries with only one source, or cute little ones like this:

For anyone working on a W:tA project, the benefits should be pretty clear. Finding obscure references will be considerably easier. That's my goal - to offer a powerful resource to talented creators for the (very flawed) game that I love so dearly.

Now, the index is far from ready for release. I have many more books to process, and a lot of choices to make about how to organize entries, what terms to file certain things under, and formatting. So while I'll offer these glimpses behind the scenes as to what the index looks like, I don't release the files - yet. Someday!

So what good is it doing you in the meantime? Well, I won't let you go rummaging through the index yourself just yet, but I'll happily rummage through it for you, making reference pulls for a given subject. Here's an example of references to Wales that I made for someone. Currently not a lot there in the books I've indexed (I imagine this'll get a lot longer once I hit Tribebook: Fianna Revised!) but it's easy to update as I go. If there's a subject you're looking for references to, feel free to let me know in an ask or message here on tumblr and I'll get to it when I'm between books!

Also, because I have been ordered to do this, and because of the capitalist hellscape, here's my tip jar. Note that tips are neither required nor expected for doing reference pulls, just appreciated!

So, I did some thinking this morning over a cup of coffee. ☕

Since I never actually expected people in fandom to refer to me, let alone talk to me, ever (hello, my fellow introverts), I just kinda let people call me 'Aed' or 'Aedric' since I didn't know what else to do when people started talking to me in this fandom.

From now on, I'm going to try and urge fandom folks (who obviously don't know me well enough to know my real name) to call me either Ahroun or Necromeowncy (or any shorthand variations of Necromeowncy if that's too long). Just kinda want to push the difference between Aedric and myself. Aed is my OC, not me the writer/player.

I've used Ahroun as my online handle since I was a teenager on Legend of Zelda RP forums lol so at this point, it's been my username for just about everything in my life and feels like a true secondary name. Necromeowncy is also another longtime handle of mine for just about everything, and I know it refers to me, not my characters. Anyway, I hope this is alright to set this boundary, and no one gets upset at me establishing that for myself. ^^;

I get Jasper cravings sometimes and then I draw him being dramatic (like I draw a lot, if not most, of my men, to be fair). And, since it's been a while since I wrote it here: Jasper is a lupus Glass Walker Ahroun, which is fancy speak for he's a WoD/WtA werewolf that I roleplayed often some years ago.

some experimental portraits i did for a campaign i'm still working on getting off the ground (two of the players had rougher than expected college semesters, so i made it clear we could put it on pause before we kicked it off, aint no big thing). Elizabeth Genereader - Glass Walker Theurge (yes, the same Elizabeth Genereader from the Glass Walker tribebook -- for the most part, i don't remember if she was a theurge there or not off the top of my head rn. she's older because the chronicle takes place after the death of King Albrecht and Zhyzhak, and the loss of the silver crown. Elizabeth is one of the few remaining Garou who was there to see it happen, which ties into why she's at the sept and has "settled" there.)

WtA rant: Why is this still a thing!?

Out of all the issues in WtA, this one has to be the most annoying long term for me. Why can't the writers and mechanics designers agree on whether garou should be able to have human jobs or not? This is not a W5 thing, this has been a thing since the 1st edition tribebooks. This might seem like a minor thing, but it isn't. Rage means that a garou literally has an aura of danger around them in Legacy edition. And in W5 they might destroy stuff without intention to thanks to the Rage dice. Yet, there are still example characters that somehow manage jobs that should be impossible for them. This means that you have to tell players that their concept of a soldier Ahroun is impossible and that most PCs with Rage higher than 3 have to rely on kinfolk for money. Which people hate, because they don't want their PCs to be moochers. This is something that should be easy to fix, just either take away the Curse and allow normal jobs. Or that the example characters just don't have human jobs. But no, for over 30 years it seems like the the devs just refuse to communicate with each other on this.

FebruarOC - Xochitl

OOOHHHHHH SUSHI MY BELOVED!!!!!! She is my character for our Werewolf game (which we're playing TOMORROW) it had been on hold for four solid years due to pandemic (we play (mostly) in person) and life/job stuff, but we finally got to start playing again on NYE! Nothing like sounding in the new year trying to remember a game you haven't played in four years ;;;;

(It was fine I killed something in one hit)

Xochitl is the 5'3" alpha of her pack and team dad (her beta, Rory, huge 6'something, is team mom). One of the first notes I made for her was that her fighting style is: (ง •̀_•́)ง !!! and a little bit of (*｀ω´)/――――― ●)´Дﾟ) I was nervous about picking up the role of alpha originally, but I made the choice after figuring that no one else would probably do it (and I was right lol) in the end, I'm really glad! I've had a lot of fun, and she's the right amount of impulsive (it is one of her flaws) to carry them forward, and I'm the right amount of "I can't stand awkward silences at the table" to keep conversations going. Whoops.

She's from the Fiana tribe, though she's got a Hispanic name because of her father (Who was a Shadow Lord of Spaniard descent who left his tribe when he fell in love with Jael lmao), and she gets along most with her father who is also an Ahroun (meaning they're real good at fighting). Her mom had another child in a first... not marriage? I don't think they got married, but she had another child before she married Arturo and had Xochitl, but Xochitl never knew her sibling that well as they disappeared and presumed dead when she was still very young.

And by presumed I mean they actually did die, but they're back now! Hah hah! And working for the Autumn King, which, you know, isn't a real thing, so totally normal and okay and nothing wrong here, amiright????

Well, We're going to find out tomorrow, because we're totally going to finally kill the autumn king and save Zeke's mom and ????? something Xochitl's sibling.

the nickname Sushi comes from when the pack went to a bar and we met a group of Fae for the first time -- we were all being super paranoid about the Fae and you KNOW you're not supposed to give them your real name, except that Grace (the GM) said one of them was FC as Janelle Monae and I made some sort of involuntary sound and Grace asked "was that you or Xochitl?" and I went "(makes ionno sound)". But in her all her awkward grace, Xochitl introduces herself as 'Sushi'.

And then Ashanti (Janelle Monae) just won't stop rolling 10's when interacting with Xochitl and becomes instantly SMITTEN which now means that Xochitl is dating a really powerful fae lord of the winter court! And she's promised to bring back the head of the false king for her girlfriend! I'm so normal about them.

AND! ONCE THEY GET BACK FROM AUTUMN! There's something in the sewers that has been encroaching upon Rat territory, and well it's not like Xochitl and Remy are a thing, but also, Xochitl has two hands and I wouldn't be mad if she and Remy flirt a little hehe BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, She's been keeping in touch with Remy (who is also team tattoo) about the goings on, and at the moment the ratkin have it under control, but Xochitl is gonna help investigate and deal with it later.

Now, generally, the pack is an investigation agency called City's Eyes! through a few different series of events during their investigations, everyone did get a gold lightning-scar tattoo on their body (hence the Team Tattoo) -- this marked them all as chosen by these lost totems, and so one of our big quests was to go and save all these lost totems! Xochitl switched from Clashing Boom Boom to Quetzalcoatl as a result, which is like, her learning some responsibility and really taking ownership of being a leader and not just going about it as pell-mell as she had been.

She has been one of my favorite characters to play, and even with our 4 year gap, the one that I've played the longest (we've been playing since like 2018). It's so easy to slip back into her! And even tho she no longer has her chaos twin that was Theane, she now has another Ahroun in Tali who is also more Mature(TM) than Theane was and I think that'll help keep Xochitl on the right track! Especially because right now she's distressed because her estranged "I thought you were dead but now you're working for someone who is legitimately insane and you're going mad but occasionally you remember who I am to you and try to warn me" sibling is there and she REALLY wants this king's head to give to Ashanti. She only just met Tali but insofar feels like she can rely on her! And of course, she can always rely on Rory and Theo to help protect the others.

Now, forgive me, I have a lot of playlists and a lot of pinboards for her, so I'll end with all of those! I've also uploaded her character sheet and her profile for free to patreon (which includes her gifts and weapons). Please know that when I roll to hit, I'm rolling a minimum of 9 dice, and then if I hit, WOAH BUDDY. What a satisfying sound!!

"Throat, be a good wolf

don't go near the humans and run into the forest as fast as you can..." These were the last words my mother told me, right before the man with the guns jumped on us, with their glass blocks flashing lights on the corpse of my brothers and sisters. It was a long time ago, a time when i didn't know what a smartphone was, when I didn't know who I was.

Now I live with The Crazy Woman, as the kids passing near the yard where I sleep keep repeating. The Crazy Woman is kind, a kindness that is surrounded by an uneasy feeling, but I feel more at home than I ever felt. The people in the black SUV are friend with The Crazy Woman, I don't like them, especially the female. She scolds The Crazy Woman, but she didn't do anything wrong. I don't know how I feel about The Girl. She is the only small human that is not afraid of me, that doesn't say bad things to me.

That day the kids were overexcited. School was over, or so I will have learned when school meant something for me. They had rocks and glass and they were laughing at the wolf kept on a leash like a dog. They had fire, and brimstone. I felt the evil in them. Because they were evil. Of that i was sure. Everything was fast. The chain wasn't strong enough. I wasn't strong enough. They ran. But they weren't fast. I felt the power in me, the strenght. I would have killed all of them. When the huge figure stood in front of me, baring her teeth and claws, I would have killed her too. I tried, too, but she was strong, and in every claw that tore her flesh, in every bite that left me with fur in my mouth, I felt that The Girl didn't want to hurt me. The Girl was trying to help me.

"Maira!" screamed the male of the SUV, with his bones snapping and the spine curving in an unnatural position, but the female put a hand on his chest. "She's handling that well, my love". There were blood everywere, The Girl was back to the gentle face that gave me a steak the night before. "She's an Ahroun like us after all"

Soooo, my girlfriend and me are playing a chronicle of Werewolf 5th Edition with a friend and it FUCKING slaps. I wanted to share it with y'all and put my writing skills to test.

I'm Throat / Alexandar Vazzini, a born lupus Garou that was adopted by The Crazy Woman and my girlfriend plays Maira Uberti, a human born Garou whose parents are both werewolves. All of this happened on the background in session zero, but I thought could help framing the story better.

This was the First Change for Throat and the first time he has a fight with Maira, but it won't be the last!

We had some others sessions after that, so i'll probably keep adding other writeups. Hope you like it! <3 Continues here!
