Last night's winner was Melonberry Green

A very delicate green with indeed...melon and berry flavors. Honey helps bring them out just the right amount. The berry and apple seem to create a pseudo-melon taste more than there's any actual melon. Excellently balanced, nothing overpowering. I know I don't need to buy more tea, but I'll be sad when I run out of this one!

adagio.com :) these are real loose leaf teas, not bagged, no sugar added. i’ve used them for 15 years and have rarely been dissatisfied. they give away a lot of samples. they’re nice if you don’t know what you like, yeah!

my favourites are earl grey moonlight, jasmine phoenix pearls (green), milk oolong, golden monkey (black), and formosa bai hao (oolong). i recommend the inguintea maker thing to quickly and easily make looseleaf.

Thank you! I’m going to check them out in a bit. I also love earl grey teas so that sounds wonderful! I’m excited to have a look.

I'm curious about your tea preferences now. I like lots of teas myself! I'll drink just about anything, though I don't really like anything with mint or too much spice. At the moment, my two favorites are jade oolong and this apple black tea

Also, minor tea rant: did you know that you shouldn't use boiling water for every type of tea? :)

I also drink all kinds of tea! I won't drink earl grey or its cousins, roibois, or spicy chai. I can't drink many fruity teas anymore due to allergies, and I tried this Kenyan purple tea that was just way too robust for me.

I also like apple tea! I had some in turkey in 2019 and was on the hunt for something similar, which I found during our trip to Egypt in January.

My favorite tea is this specific oolong, I think it's called fenghuang shixuan, but I could be spelling that wrong, that my dad would bring back from Harney & Sons, and lychee rose green from adagio.com.

And yes! I actually rarely use boiled water because I'm impatient and need just regular hot enough to brew my tea water thanks, so the water temp is usually between 180-200 degrees.

So I LOVE tea. Like. a lot. And my boss showed me a website where there are a BUNCH of tea blends based on different fandoms. HOWEVER, there are NO DEAD POETS SOCIETY blends.

The good thing is, this website also allows you to create your own blends. (You may see where this is going).

SO... I wanna make blends based on DPS in general and the characters. But I am stuck. What I am asking is...

day five of prompts in the form of names of tea samples :). today's was a weird one. my sampler set is from adagio.com, which does fandom blends and my sample today was one of those! called shizuo heiwajima, it's based on a character from a manga/anime called durarara!! which i had never heard of. some googling later and i came up with this :).

Sam and Dean find themselves working a weird case in New Hampshire, with a new friend.

Bobby cold calls them at 5AM on a Sunday. They both almost fall out of bed trying to find their respective phones.

“What do you know about dullahan?” Bobby asks without any fucking preamble when one of them manages to find the phone that Bobby had rung them on. His voice comes out tinny over the cheap phone’s shitty speaker.

Dean shoots a look at Sam. Sam shrugs.

“Nothin’,” Dean says.

“What about the legend of Sleepy Hollow?” Bobby asks, peeved. Dean and Sam stare at the phone, and then at each other, and then at the phone.

“You still there, geniuses?” Bobby asks, voice getting uncharitably loud for 5AM on any given day, much less a Sunday.

“Am I hallucinating from exhaustion or did you seriously just ask us if we knew the legend of Sleepy Hollow?” Sam says, still staring at the phone.

Dean’s too tired to keep himself from giggling.

Portsmouth, New Hampshire seems to have a ghost problem, according to Bobby. About three weeks ago, a headless rider was spotted for the first time galloping down one of the town’s main roads in the middle of the night. New Hampshire was a bit north for a legend of Sleep Hollow re-enactment — that was really more of a New York thing — and was at first dismissed as some harmless pre-Halloween pranks by teenagers. It kept happening, though, and the local folks who lied nearby that road started to get annoyed and asked local police to step in and put a stop to the matter.

About a week ago, the cops showed up to wrangle the (supposed) prankster and their horse into at least keeping their joyrides to the weekend. The only problem was that the cops couldn’t catch the horse. The footage of a cop car going eighty miles an hour on a highway, being outrun by a horse with a headless rider goes viral. Everyone assumes it’s a clever fake, especially since the horse and rider disappear into thin air just before reaching the edge of town.

Bobby’s convinced it’s not.

After giving Sam and Dean a tongue lashing for being quote “sassy” with him, Bobby orders them to get a few more hours sleep and then hit the road to meet a new pal of his, a Shizuo Heiwajima, in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth is gorgeous, if you’re into the whole New England small town vibe. Sam likes the history. Dean likes that he can let Baby run hard on the roads outside of town. They’ve both been to worse towns at this point in their lives. They even get lucky and find themselves a bed and breakfast with available beds. It’s not frigid yet, but neither brother is sorry to have a real bed to sleep instead of burying themselves under blankets in the Impala.

Bobby’s new friend is late, so Sam drags Dean through first the Strawberry Bake Museum and then the Moffatt-Ladd House and Garden, cooing over the history and re-enactors. It’s not exactly Dean’s bag, but it is cool to see how people used to live way back when. Except Dean can’t shake the feeling that their being watched. Every time he looks around, though, he doesn’t see any one that pings his danger radar, just a bunch of other tourists.

The feeling lingers, though. By the time Sam is waffling on whether or not to go to the Warner House, yet another historic house full of dead people’s things, Dean’s so one edge he can hear his teeth grinding.

Naturally, that’s when Shizuo “call me Shi, everyone else does” Heiwajima shows up. He’s tall and all apologetic smiles with bleached blonde hair and kind brown eyes. He’s easy to like, right up until he scares the shit out of Sam and Dean by lifting a fucking car on his own.

But that comes later.

What comes first is a solid week of zero leads and then three people go missing overnight. Dean, Sam, and Shi spend two days after that chasing their tails all across three quarters of New Hampshire, following several sightings of the missing townsfolk. Dean spends the whole time with that same squirrely feeling of being followed, but nothing comes of it. He just stays itchy and paranoid and has a really fucking hard time sleeping.

Sam thinks he’s cracked right up until Sam opens their motel door on their third day of hunting three missing people to find a woman standing on the threshold. She’s at least five ten, dressed in biker leathers with a helmet over her head.

Sam lets her walk right past him and into their hotel room. Dean and Shi stand up like they’re going for their weapons and then suddenly they don’t want to.

Dean and Sam don’t really feel fear like normal people these days. But there’s an icy chill in both of their stomachs.

That chill goes full arctic blast when the woman takes off her helmet to reveal that there’s nothing underneath it, like her body starts at the neck instead of at the head.

“Gentleman,” a ghastly, disembodied voice floats through the room, seemingly emanated from the … creature standing in the middle of their shabby chic hotel room. “I need your help. It seems someone has stolen my head.”

There’s a beat of silence.

“Someone stole your what?” Dean, Sam, and Shi say in unison.

The creature, somehow, sighs.

Last night's winner was Brigadoon! A leap-day exclusive.

Deep and dark and ever so slightly smoky. Would be very good with milk and honey but I forgot both. There's a slight...acidity? Astringency? Very slight. It's a smooth, black tea. High caffeine though so, small cup tonight. I recommend it (in four years when it's available again, haha).

Okay, so Adagio only does their bella luna earl gray tea on blue moon days, and that's today. I love the original, but it's level one million in caffeine. It makes my blood sing, and I can't drink it at night....except now I see an herbal decaf bella luna, and I want it. for one thing, it's decaf. full moons/blue moons are at night, so the tea should be had at night. my blood singing before bed really doesn't work out, though. so the decaf tea is Good(tm). but also? it's apparently actually blue? and I want it.So,I need you guys to claim this gift certificate so I can get points, that I can use towards my order of the decaf tea. pretty please?

Can you make dipper pines hand writing into a font?

I can, however, someone already has! The great @sovonight recreated all three cipher fonts and Dipper's handwriting a few years ago, which you can find here! She ultimately inspired me to make my font recreation of Ford's handwriting, and helped me out a tiny bit in the process. If you don't know Sovo, I would highly recommend checking out their work! Even though they aren't really as active in the fandom anymore, they still have a lot of great GF stuff in their store and their art is top notch.

Okay, so y'all know I'm a tea snob. It's literally all I drink besides water. My favorite place to purchase loose leaf tea, is adagio.com. Well, they have this section on their website called, "Fandom Teas". This is where anyone can create their own tea blend, for a favorite fandom, and people can purchase it (non-commission).

GUESS WHAT I FOUND???

That's right... Akayona tea blends!!! 😱😍

Of course, as a self-respecting Akayona fan, I just had to purchase the Happy Hungry Bunch 😌

Wait! I know what you're thinking. Where's Kija??? Well, Kija's fandom blend was discontinued because there was an ingredient in the blend that was no longer available. So, I couldn't purchase it 😤

Wait! Wait! Wait! I know what you're thinking now. Where's Yun??? How can you have a Happy Hungry Bunch set without YUN??? Well, Yun's blend contained almond flavor, which makes me violently sick to my stomach. So, I couldn't purchase it 😔

Also, there was a Su-Won blend available, but I didn't purchase it. Maybe I will at a later date 🤔

Due to this phenomenal discovery, every weekend I'm going to do a TEA REVIEW of one of these blends! Even the one's I don't have, like Yun, Kija, and Pukyuu, I'll pick a blend I think would fit them and review it.
