Cecil's trauma making him forget things and by consequence making Abby relive her own trauma by telling the same story again and again. They are trapped in it and they can't fully move foward but they have game nights and they hated each other and they love each other and they are still moving on even while trapped and maybe they are going to be okay anyway not fully but okay enough.

Also I just want to say that this was the perfect voice acting choice for Abby. I'm not sure what I thought she sounded like but this is perfect.
