Sevatar stared back at him, unblinking, unmoving. A servitor would have shown more emotion. ‘I feel that’s an unfair judgement of my character,’ the warrior said, perfectly calm. ‘Your words grieve me. I’m deeply aggrieved.’
As expected, the 10th edition of Warhammer 40,000 goes on pre-sale this upcoming weekend. Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan will be available over two weeks and the box set will be available while supplies last. ...If you ever wanted to know what Chapter Master Seth of the Flesh Tearers smells like, Grimaldus has you covered:
He smells of sacred weapon oils, his primarch’s potent blood running beneath his weathered skin, and the spicy, unwholesome reptilian scent of the lizard predator-kings that stalk the jungles of his home world.
A story about flesh tearers that frankly left me a little sad. There are fights and clashes but everything is pervaded by a sense of doom that hovers over every choice of the protagonist. The curse that weighs on the chapter and all blood angels, in general. it is something that crushes them with a deep sense of shame and self-loathing.

Me watching yet another person (@incorrect-primarchs-quotes) struggle with their newfound love for the worst legion™ while reading ADBs night lord books
This is where ADB really shines, the little moments between characters and the description of big events through individual acts
I think other siege authors have been better at big spectacles and complex actions, but this is his time to shine really; the final desperate moments and flashbacks before the finale
Karenna saluted in VIII Legion tradition, her hand in a loose claw, fingers touching her chest, above her heart – a sign of submission, offering the heart itself to a commander. Another gang custom, weaving its way down the years. On Nostramo, it had always meant a much more literal and visceral offer: to promise something so sincerely, the speaker would have their heart cut from their chest if they were found to be lying or incompetent.
Started listening to the audio of Echoes of Eternity. No spoilers but since it’s been officially out for a few days I can say THrOnE, THE GrIMDArk. ADB has really turned it up to 11 for this one. This is going to be an emotional ride.

A well-written story, but it's not that impressive on its own. The real strength is that it acts as a preamble to the night lords trilogy and that it quickly shows us the protagonists of whom we will know much more later.
For Warhammer ask. Q: What do you think of Altani? How close did you become during your imprisonment?
«‘I have come for you.’
Overseer Mnemoc’s first word after awakening is a single syllable. He asks what many men in his position might well ask. ‘Why?’
His first word is also his last. Sevatar collars him with his own lash, garrotting the helpless man with the same weapon Mnemoc used to beat the youngest member of his choir until her spine gave out.
Jago Sevatarion is an experienced murderer, well familiar with the force required to kill a man in any way the mortal mind can imagine. He strangles the master of astropaths slowly, lovingly, his gene-enhanced muscles barely straining, using just enough strength to drag out the execution without breaking the psyker’s neck.»
