catch me looking up nightingale symbolisms for tales of the passerine. if danny's using the name of a songbird for a hero name, regardless of familial connections, i will utilize the symbolism tied to the bird. Anyways general gist of the nightingale symbolism i've seen, other than what wikipedia told me, is that nightingales were frequently symbolisms of spring renewal, loss/death, love, etc. catch me about to incorporate music into Danny's character
#dpxdc#danny fenton is not the ghost king#tales of the passerine au#musician danny ftw. as someone who loves music i am more than happy to make this boy a frequent singer. this au is still baby#i can squeeze singer/musician danny in pr easily.#some favorite lines i saw while looking for symbolisms is that nightingales in roman culture were associated with venus and were also said#to provide comfort in the hours of darkness. eh eh? i saw a summary that in chinese folklore they were seen as symbols of hope#it didn't specify which dynasty but it did say it was a famous tale. cite also mentioned that in John Keats' “Ode to a Nightingale”#the bird’s enchanting song transports the poet to a world of transcendent beauty providing a temporary escape from the suffering and imperm#anyways looks like nightingales in gist symbolize comfort in dark times among other things#while robins in gist symbolize renewal. celebration of life. good luck. rebirth.#nightingale's color scheme in my mind is very much a dark purple-blue and black. maybe some gray too.#he'll probably try and ditch the black and white just out of paranoia. argh i need to come up with a suit design nooooo. superhero suit#design is my weakkkest design skill. have to balance between practical and a unique silhouette thats in line with their character.#esp since danny's not using his ghost half to be nightingale -- way too risky. also not using his powers/using them very little.#maybe i can work in an ocarina batman reference lmaoo. i can lean into comic/cartoon realism and have fun with that. as a treat

as for bit of lore, i'm not really sure. i feel like 'bit of lore' is really weird to define, bc ultimately most lore is all connected into bigger pictures. obviously i'm partial towards liyue lore in general, but as for a specific little bit...
probably still the possibility that zhongli is partial to archery.
#thank you <3 <3#i know his passive talent is for crafting spears but like#the only reason why that talent is for spears specifically is bc he is a polearm user. nowhere in the talent itself nor other related media#do we get a mention of zhongli being particularly good at crafting polearms over other weapon types#we know he made the pwjs and the jade cutter. he didn't make jadefall but he did wield it. he also made summit shaper#we can assume he made vortex vanquisher n the unforged but there's no real confirmation on either. we do know he didn't make memory of dust#assuming he did make those last two that's still an equal number of polearms and swords he made. more swords if you wanna count the unforge#ofc he could've made countless op polearms off-camera. but we're never told that#dainsleif's factoid abt the talent is more about zhongli knowing his rocks than zhongli being a good polearm maker in specific#and the skill's name in chinese is more about astrology and divination than anything else. again more on zhongli knows his rocks#so like- we don't know that he had a mastery over crafting polearms in specific#and we know he wielded catalysts and polearms and likely swords as well#and still#the only real imagery on his design on what weapon he uses#is a fucking archery ring. nowhere is it mentioned that zhongli uses bows (that we know of)#yet he wears that thing on the daily. like he still uses it. like he needs to literally keep it on hand. why#why would he do that if he apparently does not historically use bows.#only thing i can think of is that he still practices archery. over any other weapon type. which is a hilarious thought tbh#but more crack theory than anything

Umm well I’m not the best at explaining tehehe 💦but I drew you this so you can see what I do to draw them. Draw nachos and try to not draw their faces to ovals or it will looks like an egg 🥚. I start with the body first so I can see how big I should draw their head 🤷 *run in circles*

i think one of the funniest things i can do is say shit like "a bass guitar only has four strings, how hard can it be?" to justify not looking up a single tutorial ever and when someone counters this with a classic "a violin also has only four strings and is hard as fuck" i can go "right you are, but i do already know how to play a violin and that's about as complicated as it gets, so how hard can it be?"
#i mean there are A Few instruments that are just as or more complicated than a violin#but not many and the bass guitar is certainly not one of them#i think im so funny for this#like genuinely my thought process was 'its just four strings and i dont even need to hold a bow this is snickerdoodles'#and you know what. i think i'm right actually#give me a hastily written punk song and a beat and we'll figure out a base melody together to add and i can most likely just. Play That#like that would work. i am confident in my bass skills for this and i have held one in my hands Once#the hardest part is really gripping the strings. that's still painful. and also the bass i'm using is very much not mine and Too Big#not that there's much variety in this case but still#but seriously give me some more practice i can play#no need for tutorials#a biscuit's rambles

#im thinking of doing summer sale commissions#bcs i wanted to get a summer job but out of the two offers i was hoping for#none have actually a chance of happening#im on the lookout constantly but im recovering from wisdom teeth removal still and there's obviously not much to choose from where i live#so yea. that could be nice?#and i guess i want to practice more#aughjh. this year scares me so much#so many important things are happening. and i DONT want to learn how to drive#i mean i want to drive as a skill. and i finally *can* as my neurologist gave me a green light but i dont. want. to learn. driving scary#in an ideal world i wouldnt need to own a car just a beautiful grey-ish blue vespa i would drive everywhere#how is that motorcycles are more dangerous but less intimidating to me#anyway. fingers crossed everything turns out well. big plans for september and october#and of course. barbie premiere in july.#things are happening so much dear lord#my art!#marsfiol#the universe in my pocket

Someone was talking about how tailoring and embroidery are two different skills, and I keep thinking about a Tav who thinks they're the same bringing a bunch of fabric and thread to Astarion hoping he can bibbity-bobbity-gay-hands magic a dress, but instead of a gorgeous gown, they end up with an abomination that would scandalize any seamstress and make any designer faint
#bat rambles#i actually dont think he'd be able to do pattern drafting#i could see him being able to do hand tailoring and minor mods#but complex pattern drafting?#there is a lot of technical skill involved in patterning and you need the numbers right#plus the materials and space to practice and do mockups#and like you dont HAVE to#but you still need a fairly large space to work in for sewing vs embroidery#plus designing is an entirely different ballgame#i think he'd be excellent at designing within his taste#that being said i do think he could make a tunic and smaller things like that but not at the same skill level as embroidering#plus caz had to make sure they had basics to perform the function he made them for#whether or not those items are attractive / in good condition is of no concern to him#caz as that parent that provides the bare minimum and is like )))): but i never beat you with a belt like my parents did !!!#meanwhile his children are starving and probably have had pneumonia for the last century
