October 17, 2022 - Monday

Yo! Second part na ako ng chika ko for October! MT Days preparation!

Madami akong chika sa MT Days preparation hindi lang yung mismong nagpunta kami sa school. Simulan natin sa pinakasimula kung saan nabuo ang theme ng MT Days namin, carnival theme more like The Greatest Showman ang theme namin. So alam na ang ibig sabihin medyo mapula pula ang kulay ng theme namin HAHAHAHA. Pero ang astig kaya kasi carnival siya. Naassign ako kasama kaibigan ko sa paggawa ng certificates, and ppts na gagamitin para sa mga Quiz bee and etc. Proud to say ang ganda ng gawa naming ppt at certificates!!

Tapos eto na yung pinakamahirap na part, ang makakuha ng mga participants lalo na sa Ms. and Mr. Medtech 2022 HAHAHAHA. Istg kahit last sy ang hirap din magpapayag ng mga classmate mo sa section. Goodthing magaling magpursue ang class rep namin kaya may sumali na isa, owemji, excited na ako, HAHAHAHA. May sumali din samin sa Quizbee at sa egames pati sa digi poster at Talent Show! ACTUALLY LAHAT SILA SUMALIIII OWEMJI PATI PALA AMAZING RACE! Ngayon ko lang narealize na yung section namin sinalihan lahat ng events ng MT Days huhu, aym so proud!!!

Okay simula na tayo sa f2f practice. Kasama din namin yung ibang maggagawa ng design ng stage para sa Talent show at pageant. Nagturo si accla ng choreo para sa production number ng pageant, nahila lang ako sa choreo part kasi naman TT^TT HAHAHAHA di ko din alam bakit TT^TT. Anyway, naging successful naman ang pagchoreo ko pero yung pasensya ko na-test ng isang participant :) laging late ang accla at nagaa-attitude pa siya sa officers jusq. Kapag kasi late ang isang participant or absent ang hirap turuan kasi para siyang baby na walang alam pa sa buhay ganon. Inis na inis kaming SC sa kanya kasama yung mga nagtuturo ng choreo, rampa at yung sa flow. Grabe.

Sunod naman ay ganon pa rin siya nung 2nd day na f2f practice. GRRRRRR. Beh hindi niya alam na may practice ng Sabado. JUSQ. NASAGOT PA SYA SAMENNN!! Magpasalamat siya hindi ako nag-aattitude din kasi kung hindi baka nakasagot na ako ng ka-batch ko. Yr rep pa naman din ako. Nakakaano kasi ang hirap niya pasunurin jusq. Dancer daw siya pero di maayos sumayaw :D ano kaya yon. Joke ata eyon.

Naging friend din namin yung kasama ko sa choreo, hindi namin kasi siya close talaga pero huhu TT^TT ang bait bait niya at ang sarap kasama TT^TT sarap yakapin pa. Super comfy ako sa kanya at ang gaan niyang kasama. Feel na feel ko ang pagiging sincere niya sa amin and pati na rin yung ms medtech namin na sumali sa pageant!! Ahhhhhhh!!! Ang cute huhu naging close namin sila dahil sa mt days preparation!! Support na support kami sa pambato ng section namin kahit walang nag Mr medtech samin. Mga shy type ang mga guys namin e. HAHAHAHA.

Ayan po ang summary ng buong mt days preparation, super chaotic pero ang saya. Next na chika naman ay yung MT Days na mismo pero saka na yon I need to sleep na mga accling maaga pa ako mamaya HAHAHAHA. Goodnight!!

I didn't follow the group from season 1 but I was into THE9 the girl group that debuted from season 2. Actually I see some resemblance between CXK and Sunghoon, Sunghoon is my son <3

Really, Suzy came out with Satellite and Stayc with Yung Luv - those songs were dream poppy, same with Loonatic by Loona. But we need more seriously, less ballads more soft vibey tracks wkhejeuudendj

Literally my brain is like "BRING THE BOYS OUT!!!" randomly lol. Pls I'll never forgive Pledis for disbanding Pristin they had so much potential, my villain origin story... Everglow forever let's go! Omg the hairdresser put a curse on your hair 😭 my mother decided I should have short hair at some point, I was around 7 years old and I'm convinced it's one of the reasons for my hair problems now (maybe not but I'm gonna blame her anyway), because my hair was pretty straight and nice before. Seonghwa looks cute ofc, but I was so happy his har got longer, rip.

I watched 2 episodes so far and I enjoy it, it's messy and the FL is interesting, the actress is killing it. I can't say I 100% like her, because she's questionable, but I understand why she's this way. Not to spoil but her and In Yeop's characters have more history and ugh I like their chemistry and his character is a baby boy baby I need to protect, but I'm not sure how to feel about their upcoming romance ksudidjbdjsbsusis my guy is a simp.

the kitsch diet part II

part one alr posted!! this chunk is about 3,000~ words long... let me know what u think :-) thank u all for all the luv already!!! looks like I really will hit 31 followers by easter!!!!!!!!

Who is the Kitsch Girl?

I think this is more loosely defined, but The Chic Diet did a truly admirable way of reducing a girl to her YSL bag and her really skinny legs. Now, that implies an archetype, or a population in a specific location. I think kitschness is kind of the niche you fill when you’re not really much of anything else, sort of your own conglomerate of mainstream-specific. One major requirement, though, is being a little too into something somewhat uncool. And the whole illusion falls apart if you have any sort of outward insecurity. See, the Kitsch Girl is somewhat undefinable because she is so much of everything. She exists in multitudes, in a way that is also quite simple to understand; think of a list of axioms, or principles to live by. And now add a section to each one that says “but…” to make a collection of verified exceptions. Say, the kitsch girl will never wear jeans. But she thrifted this pair of vintage flares she just loves. She doesn’t reply to texts efficiently, but sometimes she will within a couple seconds. No mascara, no dinner forks, candles are to be collected not burned; but that was a gift, or something. It’s not personal, of course, those are just the contradictions she exists in. Don’t try to understand it, the enigma is essential to the facade. Or maybe she just lives like this, and her character is so homogenous with her inner world there’s no sense in trying to separate it. You have to have a little bit of an individuality complex about the whole ordeal, which is normally so eugh, but if you’re kitschy enough it works on you. Trust!The Kitsch girl is not someone unlikeable, but amiable and well heeled. I double checked that last one, assuming it meant liked by most, but apparently means affluent. I suppose that is an aspect of the kitsch girl too, having seemingly endless frivolous expenses with no real strain, but that’s not important right now. People that don’t like her think so out of jealousy, or something. Envious that her clothes are all kind of shake-it-up-esque and her highlights desperately need touching up, but she still seems so enthralled with the whole of life… How does she enjoy her own company so much when other people want to know her better? Doesn’t she feel weird about blowing people off to make a joke about reading Kafka in the bath? Why would she document her cluttered, unexciting life on Instagram so delicately, so vibrantly? Of course, no one would say this to her face because they are really baseless claims. She’s nice, generous, and valuable to have as a friend. Trade-offs exist, as they do with anyone. But I like thinking it’s easier to overlook a forgotten birthday when your kitschy best friend gave you a multi strand pearl necklace to celebrate the welcome breeze of June. Or some other made-up holiday. She is so unassuming if you’re not really looking. Girls want in on her inner circle. Or they just don’t care. Nothing wrong with being liked or thought of naught, for the most part. Boys are either enthralled or repulsed by her. Her doctor knows her as something of a hypochondriac, but only minorly. It’s just carpal tunnel, don’t worry… The sales staff at CVS turn a blind eye when she slips an eyeliner pencil into her tote bag. She shoplifts on occasion, just to see if she still knows how. But she is not a shoplifter. $9 here and $6.45 there doesn’t really add up to much. Everywhere she goes, she makes a tertiary friend or two. The term of friend is loosely used here, of course. But it is nice to tell a stranger you like her earrings. Or her phone case is so fun, is it Wildflower? The kitsch girl has an eye for this kind of detail. Simply put, she is sort of unspectacular. But in a way that makes you sort of wish you knew her better.

Phone cases

The phone case is, like, religious for the kitsch girl. Sorry, but there’s just no other accessory as flippant and expensive and single-purpose as a trendy little iPhone case with some semitacky stickers plastered over the design. I used to have an iPhone XS- extrasmall- with like, 18 phone cases. It was kind of a sordid affair. I jest, but really… owning that many phone cases was kind of sick. We get it, you are frivolous and spontaneous and sooo stylish! Stop posting mirror selfies on your Instagram story, your crush isn’t going to see it. Kidding again. Having an extensive collection of phone cases is just so fun because while attainable, most people just simply do not partake in it. That makes you kitschy and unique. I really thought I had more to say about the IDEA of the phone case, but I guess in practice it is all very, very simple. You can slide your driver’s license in the back of a clear case. At what point does it stop being cool to have legal operational control of a vehicle? I don’t display mine because I don’t really like the photo. I look round. In the eyes but also just in general, swollen, unglamorous. Whatever. Not like I drive a Nissan or anything. I drive my *Mom’s* Nissan. Playing Bladee in the car seems sacrilegious. She would hate it.Back to phone cases. Sonix ones are cute but kind of overpriced retail- unless you have like, an iPhone 12 Pro Max or whatever the fuck is new this year, just go to Winner’s. They always have Xs and 11 cases. I had a cherry one for my previous phone, like the exact one Lana Del Rey had? Thank god I sold it before she got outed as a copfucker or whatever. Casetify is for an inadvertent flex. Flexing your lame, lame taste. Sorry, I know you bought it because you liked it, but what you failed to consider is just how un-Kitsch they are. SO common, and they advertise on Instagram. Sorry, I just can’t get into it! Kind of how I just never liked the Brandy Amara tanks. Or lowtop converse. Otterbox is just distressing. Like, if my boyfriend gave me an otterbox phone case I would probably break up with him because somebody clearly isn’t paying attention- one of my favorite, potentially overused joke is how Otterbox cases are the equivalent of orthopedic insoles. Sorry but if you have poor arch support or whatever, but no pain is worth giving up a good pair of Margiela slingback tabi heels. Obviously I couldn’t afford that right now because all loose income goes directly to Wildflower and my cig boy. But like, one day. I hope you want to punch me in the face a little bit after reading that. If Wildflower isn’t your thing, at least have the decency to get a beaded phone strap. But not from String Ting. Pray tell you aren’t keeping score, but they are one of my several parasocial enemies. That should have been ME collaborating with Wildflower! Should have been ME mailing shit to Caroline Calloway (more on her later, but she is the only blue check I follow. I adore her! I was on her patreon for a bit I thinkl!!) …. Side note. Phone cases are cute but there is no way to properly protect your laptop without looking just absurd or colossally lame. The foam sleeves… ick.

Having the shittiest music taste ever

So like, here’s the thing. I’m an Apple Music user, which sort of reinstates my status as an unironic My Bloody Valentine Hyperpop Death Grips kinda gal. Read; volcel. My most recent conquest ended up being a huge L on my part, but also… I totally dodged a bullet. The guy had an iPhone 11 (female trait) and didn’t know who Rei Brown was, which just seemed suspicious given his Niche. I just know he had a “making out playlist” comprising entirely of like, Joji. Which isn’t a bad thing I guess but so unembarrassing it horseshoes back to being humiliating.Like I said. Having the worst music taste. It’s nice how subjective and deeply personal your music taste can be; no one really Needs to know you’re a die hard drainer. But there’s also no point in being a die-hard drainer and Not capitalizing off it somehow. I added it up and I have well over 150 hours of just Bladee and Yung Lean. Which is so yass? The more I write, using myself as a case study, I realize just how desperately jobless I am. And Yogenfruz isn’t even hiring! UGH!I think there is something very kitschy about liking hyperpop in the least ironic, least obnoxious way. Sort of feeds into a “I’m not like other girls” thing, but I mean… That’s kind of the idea of kitsch, isn’t it? Be a little different but also the very same as your lipgloss brethren?!Side note. If you make monthly playlists I am genuinely kind of afraid of you. That is just so organized!! I just make playlists with esoteric titles and then make a new one when I’m sick of the stuff on the last. I have exhausted most genres but I think my favorite is the “I’m wearing f****ng air forces and my teeth are SO white”. Guess what genre it is. Or don’t, but it’s probably what you think is. Okay, moving on….

Curating a scent

I like thinking I smell like mango and peach, Glossier you, whatever citrus is in that Lush shower jelly and mint 5Gum. But of course it is probably less distinct and just kind of generally fruit-floral-mint. Anyway. I think Glossier You is the perfect scent for anyone with a rather elementary understanding of the whole.. Perfume business. Every bottle of intentional fragrance I own was made via aesthetic choices… it really helps that Glossier You is so cute And so universal. Now, Glossier is kind of interesting to me because it really is at the intersection of cheugy and kitsch. Kind of basic, overplayed, unspectacular. But also…. Often popular things are popular because they are good. Glossier has excellent customer suurv, they ship SO fast (and no import duties! W!) and their stuff is just so sweet and nice if not unoriginal, in kind of the same way strawberry ice cream is. Which is still my favorite, of course, especially if there’s a vegan option. I was talking about Glossier. What the hell! It’s really worth trying out. A huge principle of kitsch is just… having as many possible layers and appendages to your composure as possible. And adding a signature scent just really completes that! When curating your own, I say this as a complete amateur, know-nothing; make it something that comes kind of naturally to Your Character. Like, I’m just not a Chanel No 5 kind of girl. Odds are you aren’t either. My bottle (before she asked for it back when I told her I didn’t use it, in exchange for a Nordstrom’s gift card) was from my grandmother. Ummm.. Yeah, I really have no expertise in curating a scent. But it is nice to have a signature. And having a bottle displayed on your dresser next to your aughties McDonald milkshake themed beanie baby and a handful of lip products is just way too fun! This is the kind of girl I am, everyone! Cluttered, but prioritizing pretty-delicate things!

Cheugyism

Cheugy is a relatively new word that has unfortunately wormed into my vocabulary to replace “uncouth”. Which I use to mean graceless or tacky, but if that isn’t what it means…. Don’t tell me. That would hurt more than weighing myself after a “feast” slash pastry binge at my dear Grandmothe’s house. Like I was saying. Cheugy. It’s sort of a fucked up concept to me because it is a critique on consumption, but not the pace or volume or magnitude of it. But rather… the idea of not being “good” enough at engaging in microtrends, or involvement in the fast paced fashion cycle. Don’t get me started on TikTok, or do, but… yeah,. No. That will require a cigarette because I’m so sorry, but writing a thinkpiece on social media is so lowbrow I would need to find about six ways to aesthetically counteract it…. Moving on. I think the idea of cheugy is good, we really do need a word to simply and efficiently define “out of date/uninspired/lame”. But the way it is used to shame others for not liking the same trends or whatever is kind of gross. If you use cheugyism to put other people down and not as a neutral identifier umm… you will become what you fear. Sorry, that’s what happens. Some things that I think are cheugy or embarrassing, or just not part of my stylistic lexicon are… 1. Hooded or zip up clothing, or things with a large graphic on the back. Bingo if it's all three! I just can’t get behind it. Side note, my summer home outfit is brandy sweats and a tube top (Urban Outfitters tank I ripped the straps off) and a large cardigan that should have belonged to a stoner, but probably didn’t. I can dunk on bulky, uninspired clothes because I would honest to God NEVER be caught DEAD out of the house wearing any of it. I’m so serious. Eye makeup and what it means to me….

Personally, I am one of those people who never wears foundation and kind of has a complex about it. The kitsch girl wears fluffy eyelashes and owns a plethora of sparkly eyeliner. Or maybe she doesn’t, but she has something distinct and a little ritzy, if not haphazard. We all saw Euphoria and it like, totally imprinted on us. The way glitter sits on your face after a long day is so resplendent. When it’s shining and a little bit melted off from your long, semi-productive day… ugh! Just made for film. Pictures on film. But not the Prequel app. I keep getting fucking ads for it. But it’s so embarrassing. Like, isn’t the whole point of film the authenticity of the moment? The texture of the afternoon? Why would you fabricate that? Prequel is just so cheugy. More on that later. But anyhow. Wearing a ton of eye makeup kind of fits with the idea of film too I think. Like, look at you, in the moment. With your strip lash falling off! It’s all so tres-chic. Plus, for whatever reason, it’s kind of unique or notably dedicated to ~Pull up to the function~ with more eye makeup on than everyone else. Sorry, but it really doesn’t take that long! But yes I will gracefully accept your praise… it’s kind of like the dropshipping of complements if you think about it. Easy to source with little to no effort in the curating. Side note, lashes are like $20 for 40 weeks if you cut them in half and use each pair about 5 times. You could probably do more but I lose track. How the fuck is it almost June? I was trudging through the snow to check the mail for my Online Ceramics shirt just last week, I swear. The trick to cutting your lashes (the way I do it anyway) is pretty simple. Get out two lashes that are symmetrical. Find the middle and cut one slightly to the left and one slightly to the right. This means you have two sets (one set is a little more dramatic than the other but at least they are symmetrical) with longer outer edges. Glue this to the outer corner of your eye and you will look so Composed… obsessed with how this layers with three eyeliner tails (one traditional one pointing up and one pointing down directly below it, sort of like the tail light on a 2019 Lexus UX) and one below your eye, like a clown. Fun, irrelevant fact, is the first time I added this third tail to my eye makeup, my dad had just gotten home from the hospital because he was sure he had like appendicitis or something and it was actually.. Not that. Typical indie hypochondriac. He made me bring him cottage cheese on a plate with a teaspoon that evening. I put black pepper on it for flair, which he hated. Walking up and down stairs with a plate of cottage cheese is much more imprinting than most of the multiplication tables. Don’t forget to use a bright shimmer eyeshadow in your inner corner. It really opens up your eyes. I recommend Too Faced. One time I got a little bit too high and tried to film an “editorial” makeup tutorial. You will never, ever, ever see that video. But I essentially covered my whole eyelid in the ABH shadow “palermo” and smudged out the edges with a tan Tartelette Toasted shade, coupled with my long-expired Milk Makeup holographic stick. Lopsided lashes and near-blinding eyeliner experience aside, it was kind of cool. My point is, you really cannot go wrong with an arsenal of shimmers, taupey mattes and a good eyeliner pen.

Hey @nerdy-flower this took a while, a long while, but here’s a snippet of the expanded fic that, yes, is currently still in the works. Was it worth the wait? No. But do I still want to share it? Yes, because I want to share the love lol. As opposed to this your fics are definitely worth the wait. Sending all the luv <3

If you were to ask Ernest: how did it all begin? He would mention his father’s missing left shoe.

“Ernest, not funny,” Hugo’s deep voice echoed through their rather narrow hallway. His usual straight, proud gait caught in a limp.

It was those brown, pleather Oxford types, Ernest would say, not actual Oxfords but those copies one can find for a good 25 dollars at those super department stores. The kind where you can grab chips in one aisle and a good pair of cheap earbuds in the other.

“Ernesto Vega, this is childish even by your own standards,” Hugo continued, stopping in front of a closed door. Its white surface brightly decorated with skate/surf shop stickers and a black and white mini-print homage to Biggie Smalls. In the middle, a small dirtied whiteboard, whose original use failed and was now a temporary space to practice graffiti. Hugo absentmindedly ran his finger through a particularly complex one, erasing “yung” but stopping at…”stanback”?

“Ernest,” Hugo continued, rapping on the door. “This is ridiculous, I need to go.”

If there was anything stereotypically gay about his father, Ernest would comment, it was his obsession with shoes.

Hugo sighed heavily, looking up at the ceiling and supplicating to whoever is up there (may his father rest in eternal glory he believed in) before opening the door and finding Ernest stomach down on his bed being idle with his phone. The boy’s earbuds weren’t even on!

“Dad!” Ernest frowned, plopping his phone to the side. “Why do you always do that? I told you already, what if I was dressing?”

Conveniently ignoring that detail, Hugo stepped into the room, causing his son to sigh in defeat and go back to whatever game he was on.

“Ernest. My light-brown pleather, mock-Oxford shoe, the one with the dark brown laces, where is it?” Hugo asked.

Ernest furrowed his brow even tighter, tapping on his phone with fervor. “How am I supposed to know? I don’t keep track of your shoes.”

Assume and exhibit good-will Hugo, assume and exhibit good-will. Ernest might have not seen them at all. Hugo tried again.

“I thought you might know where it is,” he started carefully. “Since I have worn them recently and they are usually left in the shoe rack near the front door.”

Ernest tsked loudly. “I d’know where they are,” he said, eyes never prying off the screen. “For all I know, the Duchess could’ve taken it.”

Hugo’s strong brow twitched.

“I told you she could be inside the house so long as you keep her away from my things Ernest! C’mon!” Hugo exclaimed, his hands dancing and showing just outraged he was. His hands went down and lightly slapped the sides of his thighs.

At least it got Ernest’s full attention. The boy doesn’t like to be scolded, so why does he only respond when his tone gets harsher?

“She could’ve taken it while I was not looking!” Ernest looked up. “I swear, I don’t know where your dumb shoes are.”

Hugo shook his head. The pressure of being ready on time coupled with loss of one of his favorite pairs of shoes made the patience reserved for his son sink lower. “Well, now you’re gonna help me find it.”

“What? No!” Ernest shook his head. “I’m not going on a freak search for a shoe!”

“Ernest,” Hugo began. “Damien is going to be here any time now—”

“Then wear another pair!” Ernest rebutted. “You’re acting like you don’t have a bajillion pairs in your closet already.”

“That’s not the point! The point is, the Duchess is your responsibility and you promised to make sure she didn’t chew on our stuff. Now I do not know if she actually took it or if you decided to somehow get back at me for—” The tension between father and son grew.

Then the doorbell rang, their blessed interruption, and at the door, an angel.

“Good evening my love. Looking handsome as always,” Damien smirked, his eyes trailing down to better appreciate the view. It was a nice thought, to know that Hugo had dressed up rather dapper for him. He hoped his more modern approach to dressing in suits (Edwardian in nature yes, but he did look good in it) could only emphasize how handsome his boyfriend looked.

Hugo blushed under his gaze as Damien’s sly spread of lips grew wider. “Although,” Damien tsked softly. “I hope you do not plan on leaving the house without this.”

From out his evening cape he never failed to bring on occasions like this, Damien presented the missing light brown pleather mock-Oxford shoe, the one with the dark brown laces.

Oh.

Ernest, who had passed by the entrance, (to get some snacks dammit, it’s not like he wanted to see the vampire) looked at the shoe as if it done him great wrong.

“Ohmygod! See? I told you I didn’t have that stupid shoe!”

A fatherly sort of embarrassment went through Hugo. It was the worst kind, knowing you had messed up and blamed your own child for something he did not do.

“Oh dear, was there a misunderstanding?” Damien muttered. “I knew I should have notified you earlier about this. I had found it underneath my bed.”

Hugo’s blush deepened. “Tha-that’s right,” he chuckled weakly. “I had ah—” He pushed up his glasses up to the bridge of his nose. “I had forgotten that…that was in your house.”

Ernest had squeezed in to take his rightful place at the front door, scrunching up his nose and looking at Hugo and Damien as they talked.

“How did you even, even, forget that you had one shoe at Damien’s?” Ernest scowled.

“This happened in the weekend prior, I believe,” Damien muttered, furrowing his brow in thought. “Although that was when I also returned your dress shirt and your jacket.” He let out an amused chuckle. “My love, did you really go back home wearing one shoe?”

Hugo sighed tiredly. “I came home with no shoes, I just ah,” he began, taking off his glasses and giving them a quick shine with the ends of his shirt. “Rolled up everything and I guess, brought home nothing.” Like a teen trying to return home unnoticed at the crack of dawn.

“Well that settles it,” Damien said.

“You guys been having sleepovers?” Ernest continued after he processed everything. “Since when?!”

Hugo opened his mouth to answer but hesitated and shook his head. “Amor I’m sorry, please come in,” he tried to smile sweetly in the presence of an incredulous son. “I need to put this on.”

“Thank you,” Damien smiled, leaning in for a firm chaste kiss. He was always rather proud of his lofty height but appreciated the slight lean on his toes to catch Hugo’s lips by surprise. Of course, to which Hugo always returned gladly.

“Does Lucien know?!” Ernest continued. “How come he never told?!”

Hugo pulled away, annoyance surging up again. “Lucien doesn’t spend hours in bed on his phone purposefully ignoring his father when he tells him he is going out. That’s how he knew,” he rebutted. Damien patted Hugo’s cheek gently before another bickering session started. “Your shoe?” he whispered. With his experience, the Vega boys would soon sleep it off and restart with breakfast the next morning.

“R-right,” Hugo muttered, taking his left shoe and himself to the couch with a tired plop.

Ernest tsked loudly, making his way towards the room. “Stupid Lucien,” he muttered under his breath.

“Ernesto,” Hugo called in full latino paternal authority, making Ernest pause. Hugo gestured toward Damien with a slight cock of his head. “Ya saludastes?”

Ernest’s shoulders tensed slightly as he turned around slowly. “Hey Damien,” he forced a smirk. Perhaps what irked the boy the most was the fact that he wanted to hate his father’s boyfriend, but the vampire had virtually done nothing to garner any of that hate. It was hard enough finding a justified reason to aim his frustrations at him.

“Good evening Ernest,” Damien answered, his lips spreading in a fond smile. “School was alright, I hope.”

Ernest gave him an ‘OK’ sign and a dopey “I don’t care” smile and went off to the sanctuary of his room.

Feeling strangely disappointed, Damien settled himself next to Hugo. From the length and the heaviness of their sighs they both knew didn’t need to say more.

“How was work?” Hugo asked, tying his shoe.

“Same old things, well, slightly petty old things, but still the same,” Damien shrugged, mindlessly observing how those strong fingers can loop knots with such thin laces. “While my team and I are doing routine security check-ups, we wait for the next big office drama to happen. It gets that awfully boring.”

“I’d rather that than angsty teenagers smartassing me any day,” Hugo chuckled, finishing and shuffling closer to Damien and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. Damien hummed blissfully and rested his head on that strong broad chest of his.

“We have our fair share at home,” he muttered.

“Yea,” Hugo said, rubbing his hand on Damien’s arm up and down. “But…they’ll come around. We all did. They’re…they’re good kids.”

“I know,” Damien answered, half-lulled by the warmth that forever radiated and bled through his clothes. He blinked and sat up straighter. They weren’t here to cuddle and spend another night indoors, as wonderful as that sounded. They had a reservation in a more upscale restaurant downtown.

“We should start leaving now if we want to avoid traffic,” Damien said. Hugo smiled and gently flicked off a stray lash off his cheek. He was glad Damien chose not to wear contacts that night. His dark eyes emphasized by his make-up were all the more deep and mesmerizing to him.

“Ahh, but now I don’t want to go,” Hugo playfully whined. “Too comfortable here.”

Damien’s chest rumbled in a chuckle. “That would be for the coming weekend my love, but we must hurry now, lest we’ll lose our seats.”

“Not without a kiss,” Hugo smirked, pulling him down.

“Oh alright, if you insist,” Damien rolled his eyes and placed his hands on either side of Hugo’s jaw and met his lips with his own. As if he would deny him. He hummed when he felt those strong fingers run through his hair.

Ernest crept through the narrow hallway, peeking out into the living room to see if they had left. A part of him reminded that his father never left home without saying goodbye, but if he’s too into the vampire right now, Ernest deemed himself easily forgotten. To his slight annoyance and some hidden inner relief, his father was still there on the couch resting his forehead against Damien’s. They were smiling, their shoulders shaking as they laughed over some nerdy shit the other probably said.

Ernest crossed his arms and leaned slightly against the wall, half hidden by the shadows of the warm Ikea lighting. His father looked…happy. He never seen the old man this happy and relaxed since...well damn, since when did Hugo smile this wide when he was married to his dad.

And the feeling sucked, it did. Realizing then that the two people you thought were so in love did not get along after all. Cos you were a kid and your fathers placed you above everything else, even their own happiness.

The happy wrinkles around Hugo’s eyes appeared, Damien slid off his glasses to kiss them. They were being old and sweet and gross, and damn was that all they did in their sleepovers? Nevermind, Ernest did not even want to go there. He speedwalked back into the room to escape such thoughts on his phone.

“Mm, we have…we have to go,” Damien muttered, tilting his head to give Hugo some room. “And your son in his room, you do realize that.”

They were both flushed from an impromptu make-out session. Hugo pulled away and gave him a smirk. “Something for the road,” he replied.

“A road we must get to now,” Damien muttered, a smirk crossing his face. He stood up from the couch and offered his hands. Hugo took them and lifted himself up with a grunt. “Alright, alright,” he relented, smoothing down his suit jacket and pants. “Lemme get my phone and kiss Ernest goodnight.”

Damien looked at him with a raised brow. “Ernest still lets you tuck him in?”

“Ch! No,” Hugo half-scoffed, though his expression began to soften. “I wish though. It’s the little things I miss, helping him brush his teeth, nighttime stories, turning on night lights—”

“Don’t!” Damien interrupted with a furrowed brow. He did not want to think of nighttimes spent with a young Lucien. “Sentimental old man, you will get me started as well. Please do not think about that, not now.”

Hugo smiled softly, making his way towards his son’s room, stopping at that old familiar white door covered in skate/surf stickers and the whiteboard that now has ‘Knock or I won’t listen’ scrawled on it. Hugo rolled his eyes and gently rapped on the door. “Ernest? Ernest we’re leaving, please lock the door,” Hugo called out. A moment later, Ernest opened the door a crack. “Barely?” he asked.

“Yes,” Hugo said, wishing he could open the door wider. “Can you please lock the door behind us?”

“Yeah, yeah sure,” he grumbled, trudging out of his room where he was met with the vampire’s nice guy smile.

“Now remember,” Hugo began. “Do not open the door for no one, and I mean no one, so no ordering pizza—"

Ernest tsked amusedly. “What if its Lucien?”

Damien shook his head. “Lucien is out with his friends and he knows very well what do in case of an emergency. We have our own plan,” he explained. “Or else I would have invited you over, you two would have spent a night at my place.”

Ernest shrugged lightly and looked at Hugo with a smirk. “What if its Mat?” he dared. “Or Robert?”

“Ernest, please,” Hugo said. “You know what I meant by no one.”

“Ch! Fine,” Ernest muttered.

“Mind the Duchess, keep her with you at all times,” Hugo continued. “And don’t forget to put the dishes in the dishwasher, oh and leave the living room light on before you go to bed. We won’t be long but just in case—”

“Yea, yea dad I get it!” Ernest frowned. “I got this! I’m not a little kid anymore!”

“I know,” Hugo answered, sounding strangely defeated. “Just…be safe.”

“You guys are gonna be late,” Ernest crossed his arms.

“Right,” Hugo said, hesitating an approach forward to Ernest. “Good night mijo.”

“G’night and good bye,” Ernest said, holding the door.

“Good night Ernest,” Damien said. “Send my love to the Duchess.”

“Yeah,” Ernest muttered, glancing down and fidgeting the doorknob. He took a good look at their shoes. Such old-timey shoes they both had on.

“Call me if anything,” Hugo said as he went out the door, giving him a quick ruffle of his hair before he was shrugged off.

“Or me,” Damien nodded. “Have fun without us.”

Ernest snorted softly, seeing them out as they walked towards Damien’s car. Piece o’ shit Honda Civic; one would think Damien would drive a hearse.

He saw how Damien opened the shotgun door for his dad and how his dad practically swooned. Damien must’ve said some nerd-ass joke because they were both smiling and laughing like nothing else mattered. Damien even closed the door for him before he took his place in the driver’s seat.

When did Pops ever open the door for Dad? Hell, when did they ever do this kinda crap for each other?

Ernest thought back to the brown pleather mock-Oxford shoe. If dad had left his shoe at Pops’ place, his Pops probably won’t care. He’ll make some comment on how Dad won’t miss the damn thing, that he had bajillions in his closet or that he will give Ernest some money so he could buy him another pair for his birthday.

Ernest caught his dad waving at him through the window, with that carefree smirk on his face. He found himself softly waving back before his father began gesturing for him to go back inside.

Ernest closed the door and locked it, turning on the living room lights before jogging towards the garage door. He found the Duchess panting and waiting loyally for him by the step, slobbered chew toys scattered around her. Ernest smiled wide, patting his thighs to beckon her in. The skirmish between him and his father earlier forgiven, but never truly forgotten.

Because if you’d ask Ernest how his dad and step-dad found each other, he will tell you his dad was missing his left brown pleather mock-Oxford shoe, and that Damien was the one who found and returned his missing half.

pero tbh gusto ko pumasok ng school pero gina attack lang jud ko sakong anxiety piskot!!! like ang mga tao na ma meet ko lalo na sa SC kahit friends ko pa sila, awkward ako palagi and just wishing na wala na lang sana ko nag agi didto. why do i feel na si kim at rhea lang ang totoo saken? but the sad part is doctors and msu sila naga school. cant wait to be real adult na ba na naka graduate na and may work na cuz ayoko ko na mag aral. akala nyo lang okay na ako kasi patawa tawa lang ako at maingay na ako ngayong college pero di nyo lang alam gaanu kahirap magpretend kasi wala na akong choice but to show you guys na okay lang ako, that theres nothing wrong wt me. wtf~ is this a suicide note? hahahahha chosss! pero seryoso enjoy man ko sa life minsan ba lalo na kung dili nako makita ang mga bullshit na mga tao sa school. but congrats self cuz high na tolerance mo sa peopling out. Pero siguro sanay a ako ma drained kaya theres nothing new na lang kung makipagsocialize ko.

but part of me is walay gana sa life. like gusto ko nalng ipakita sa kanila na bobo ako at tanga at hopeless na. pero shet!!! may mga tao na naga love sakua like aloha, kate, joyce, dolly, russ and jerome na naga send saken ng memes at inspirational msgs to cheer me up and to know my worth. tangina nyo guys iluv u all. sana di kayo magsawa hahaha kahit minsan lang tayo nag uusap at magkasama puta mahal ko kayo. alam nyo man na di ako expressive na tao at ayoko ko maging vulnerable in front of you guys but sana malaman nyo na gusto ko ginagawa nyo saken.

Ano ba pwede ichika sa inyo? Hmm? Masyadong magulo ang nangyari sa akin nung second semester e kasama na yung magulong love life ko. HAHAHA. I am still single but I do have a crush. Yes, crush na hindi ko alam kung crush nga ba or iba na tong nararamdaman ko. I just hope na crush lang or infatuation lang ito. Sana nga.

I've missed the things na ginagawa namin----yes, sometimes we still do it pero hindi na araw-araw. I'm still his good friend and sometimes, gusto ko itanong sa kanya kung ano nasa isip niya whenever I meddle with his schoolworks. Sabay kasi kami gumawa ng activities dati with matching call and I honestly don't know how it happened. Basta isang gabi, tinawagan niya ako at gawin daw namin ang nasa to do list ko. Yes, ako ang may to do list sa aming dalawa and kilala ako ng mga taong kilala ako in person. Ginagawa ko yung nasa To Do list ko, sometimes, hindi din lalo na kung may nadagdag na gawain na need ipasa agad. Nirereschedule ko lang naman iyon and madali sa akin mag reschedule.

The things I did to him was not special since ginagawa ko yun sa iba kong kaibigan/classmate. Mabait ako and mapagbigay, Istg, I have so much time to make chika to them kaso sila yung busy and I understand it. Anyway, after gumawa ng activities, either nanonood kami or nagkwekwentuhan or nanonood ako ng laro niya. Some things were not new to me but yung turuan niya ako ng mga language na ginagamit whenever you play a game online, waaa, doon ako nagulat. Nobody taught me that, only him. Nakakapanibago kasi sobrang haba ng pasensya niya sa akin at naiintindihan niya ako kapag tinotopak ako or kapag wala ako sa mood. He's a nice guy.

Syempre may red flag din sa kanya, lagi namang may bad and good sides ang mga tao e. Sa lahat ng nakilala kong lalaki sa buhay ko, ngayon lang ako nakatagpo ng guy na hindi ko inexpect sa buhay ko na dadating. He's just a nice guy to me. I just can't explain the things that he did to me. Grabe kabaitan niya sa akin. From helping me in our Inorganic and Organic Chemistry up to now. Sometimes, iniisip ko baka may kapalit to--------well, minsan may kapalit talaga but nah it's okay for me kasi at least naibabalik ko kabaitan niya sa akin.

Our friendship is not normal. Ilang tao na ang napagtanungan ko e. Sabi nila hindi daw talaga normal, may normal ba daw na nagtatawagan araw araw at natutulog na open ang call pa rin? May kaibigan ba na ka-call mo buong araw sa birthday niya? Diba wala? Kaya ayon.

Sa susunod na ulit, nakidlat dito e -.-. Kabado bente baka hindi mapublish to HSHSHSH. Ciao! <3

Never Gonna Dance Again: Act 1 - The 3rd Album

This is Taemin’s album (same guy who sang “Press Your Number”). I didn’t really like the album at first and was about to skip listening to it. However, when I sat down and really listened to it, I liked almost all of the songs except for “Strangers,” “Clockwork,” and “Nemo,” which is only a third of the album.

Three of the tracks sound REALLY similar to three other English songs that I listened to a lot during the time that I really liked SooBin. So this album brought back a lot of good memories and made me feel really nostalgic as I listened to it :’)
