“Elvis” premiered at several festivals, namely in France at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on 25th May 2022, and was theatrically released by Warner Bros. Austin Butler (The Shannara Chronicles) is the one and only Elvis Presley in this across-the-years biopic from Oscar-nominee Australian Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!).

Austin Butler has been playing piano and guitar since he was 13 years old. Like Elvis, the actor learned to play by himself the instruments 🎹 🎸 The film, Elvis' first voice, is sung by Butler.

But as the singer ages, Butler's voice is mixed with tapes of middle-aged Elvis to give as similar a vocal tone as possible, a decision made by the film's director, Baz Luhrmann.

At the end of "Elvis," when the singer takes the stage in Las Vegas, Austin recaptures Elvis' dynamic performance and voice.

Co-stars the great Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker, the enigmatic manager who shared a complex relationship with Presley. Tom Hanks is a fine actor, but promoter Parker's central role in the Elvis story is unpleasant.
