Okay, so... (first post 📫 ❤)

I made this Tumblr @bass-line awhile back right around the time when I first got into raving some years ago, to keep #edmtumblralive and to help all the #RAVEBABYS that are making there way into #edm , #festivals , #raving , #clubbing and #more joining this wonderful community that we have created, safely. #PLUR. Then, all my #festival and #rave photos got deleted and at that point I felt a little discouraged 😞 in trying to start a rave blog with no "memories" to share. I, now, realize that despite losing all those photos/videos...its not like I'm not I'm still raving, BABY!

And, this is a life-style and although I started this blog in ordered to share my personal experience...I want to help all the new #RAVEBABYS , that are making there way in to the world of #edm , #festivals , #clubs and more safely, and help with any questions one might have because I know it may be alot to take in and there wasn't too many good resources

. As well as to all that have come together to make this the community that we live # PLUR

someone asked me what my problem with borderlands 2 was, and why I was scared about rage2 having borderlands syndrome. and I enjoyed writing it so much I figured, "I haven't posted anything relevant to tumblr in ages so here we go", so here we go.

I have a lot of feelings about B2 so here's the tl;dr: B2/PS were games written to try to capitalize on internet/meme/"nerd" culture as an overreaction to criticisms of Borderlands 1 not having a plot (it did, it just required reading text boxes which I guess was out of peoples' grasp by that time). and R2's marketing gives me B2 vibes which is worrying.

borderlands 2 tried way too hard to be relevant and funny. its writing entirely stemmed from internet culture, memes, and penguin-of-doom-style copypasta. it got the everloving shit marketed out of it with SO EXTREME EPIC WUBBZ BAZILLION GUNS (fun fact there's actually fewer parts combinations in B2 than in B1) and the presequel was even worse. the only good thing to come out of B2 was Torgue's personality and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. Actually Scarlett's dlc wasn't bad, but I digress. Borderlands had a lot of blue collar toiler humor, but it was done well. B2 might as well have been a South Park episode. they tried to fix problems that weren't problems, destroyed characters that were already established with LOL-SO-RANDUM writing (like seriously, Scooter was smart in 1, if not a little wacked. in 2 he's a brainless hick for the sake of "ha ha look at the redneck he sure loves cars INCEST JOKES" although his writing downfall started in Knoxx dlc), and any game that has less than a 1% drop rate on non-farmable enemies can fuck right off.

Borderlands 2 is the equivalent of that Steve Buscemi "How do you do, fellow kids?" gag from 30Rock, except it's not done tongue-in-cheek, and it lasts for at least 15 hours.

to make a short story short every ad spot and poster I've seen for R2 reminds me so much of B2 it scares me a little. I loved RAGE, and I really, really hope they've stuck to their guns and it's just weird marketing. but I'm not holding my breath.
