Victoria Monèt is responsible for a lot of songs that we know and love. She deserved every single Grammy that she won Sunday night. Best New Artist is not about an artist actually being new. It tracks when an artist has become more mainstream and they’re first time sending in their music to the academy. Y’all have a habit of discrediting and disregarding Black artists in general but when it comes to award shows y’all get nasty. And racist.
