Breakfast, Seafood Bar, and Cocktails All Day Long at Jones All Day
There’s a new bistro and bakery in town that will surely put you in a bright mood any time of the day. Jones All Day recently opened in Serendra at Bonifacio Global City giving visitors and residents a place to chill, relax, and savor its all-day breakfast and comfort food lineup together with bubbly glasses of your favorite drinks and cocktails.
The newest neighborhood bistro from the Raintree Hospitality group can be found along the bustling avenues of the Serendra Piazza, just in front of Saboten near the Market! Market! side. This place used to be Motto Motto before it was closed during the pandemic, but now Raintree has transformed it by reinventing a previous concept - Mr. Jones in Greenbelt, turning in into an all-day bistro and bakery where you can have cocktails with the girls or have a breezy brunch with the family.
Jones All Day is open daily from as early as 7:00am to 10:00pm. The restaurant’s interiors which come with high ceilings and bright open spaces is a breath of fresh air, giving diners a safe and comfortable place to unwind whatever time of the day.
Some of the furniture have actually been sourced from other previous restaurants of the Raintree group, like these sofas and salons by the window which were from the now-closed Saboten branch in Glorietta.
They also have al fresco seating outside for those who prefer a breezier atmosphere. Just like in Bonifacio Global City, Jones All Day is pet-friendly, so you can bring your pets with you for lunch after your activities in Bonifacio High Street.
The first thing that will greet you at Jones All Day is the bakery section. Here you can find freshly-baked breads and pastries for those on the go. You can take these with you to bring to the office or to enjoy at home.
Joining us for lunch was Gwen Jacinto of GJC Public Relations who also takes care of the marketing duties at Raintree Hospitality. It’s been two years since I last saw her so it was really fun to catch up inside this charming venue.
Raintree Hospitality Corporate Chef Kalel Chan also shared with us his vision for Jones All Day. While it takes its name from its predecessor, Mr. Jones, which was an American diner, Jones All Day is a more contemporary concept with a wider range of international cuisines from sushi, tapsilog, pancakes, salads, and more.
Chef Kalel showed us the best way to start any meal any time of the day. The Jones Seafood Tower (P1295) is a gorgeous collection of seafood favorites including shrimp cocktail, oysters, mussels, sashimi, spicy tuna dynamite, and coctel de mariscos served with fresh citrus, corn tortilla chips, nori, and saltine crackers on the side.
The fresh, plump and juicy Aklan oysters make up the bottom layer of raw seafood items. These were joined by a delightful set of tuna, salmon, and uni sashimi that could rival those from any Japanese restaurant.
On the top layer was a wonderful array of shrimp and seafood cocktail paired with your own Tabasco sauce. The coctel de mariscos is like a ceviche with different seafood items mixed together in a rich tomato sauce.
Turn your get together into a bubbly event by ordering any of their all-day cocktails. The Passionfruit Strawberry (P250) is a gin and tonic made with strawberry splash, passionfruit essence, juniper berries, and mint.
Or go for the Manhattan Spritz (P375) which comes with bourbon, citrus bitters, sparkling wine, cherry juice, and soda. Another great option for a leisurely Sunday brunch is A Real Mimosa (P450) with freshly squeezed orange juice and sparkling cava.
You can also try some of their friendlier beverages like the Young Coconut, Thai Basil, and Melon (P220) which comes with melon juice, thai basil syrup, fresh thai basil and coconut water.
For fans of the Mr. Jones diner, they did retain a few of the favorites on the menu like the diner-style Jones Famous Milkshakes. The Banana Cream Pie ( P 295) is a rich and creamy milkshake served with whipped cream and cherry on top. They even give you the extra shake left over from the serving cup.
Jones All Day has several starters to choose from ranging from soups, salads, pancakes, and sandwiches, The Shrimp Aguachile (P320) is a Mexican raw seafood dish prepared with shrimp, cucumber, red onions, sweet jalapeño sauce, and corn tortilla chips.
For the health buffs, the Bistro Salad (P395) has a combination of arugula, apple shreds, gorgonzola, pecorino, candied walnuts, red onions, and berry balsamic.
I prefer having the Jones Burrata (P695) with its huge burrata placed on top of roasted pumpkin hummus, pesto, tomatoes, pickled pimientos, rocket, and a sourdough toast.
Another healthy option is the Jones Vegan Bowl (P575). This dish is totally vegan with its plant-based kofta balls, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, basil, cilantro, cabbage, carrots, onions, crispy garbanzos, and passion fruit-herb vinaigrette.
You can also try any of their comforting soups like the Cauliflower Cream (P320). This comes with double-smoked bacon and crème fraîche.
The Chicken Liver Pate (P350) is a light appetizer that you can pair with any of their beverages. This comes with apple onion chutney, mustard, and house pickles with a fruit and nut bread.
I really liked the Salmon Gravlax Avocado Toastie (P450) with its delicious cuts of smoked salmon combined with cucumber, mashed avocado, and Greek yogurt on a dark multi-grain rye.
For those who want to have a full main course, Jones All Day has a selection of all-day breakfast items that will satisfy any hungry diner. The Mr Jones Filipino Breakfast (P350) is the best option as diners can choose from among Mr. Jones famous tapa, garlic amadeo longaniza, or crispy smoked bangus. This comes with a set of garlic rice, two cage-free eggs, atchara, and fresh orange.
Another Asian favorite is the Hainanese Chicken Rice (P495). This popular Singaporean chicken dish set comes with hainan rice, kecap manis, chili sauce, ginger-scallion sauce, and chicken soup.
For desserts, you can just choose any of the pastries displayed on the bakery counter, like this lemon tart and the popular Bombolini Brulee (P150). This sweet bun is filled with a creamy custard filling that everyone will enjoy.
Before you leave, make sure to pass by the Jonesery to spice up your home and kitchen. This is their own little grocery store that sells locally made and sourced artisanal goods from Filipino entrepreneurs.
We would like to thank Gwen Jacinto, Chef Kalel Chan, and Raintree Hospitality owner Martin Wisniewski for welcoming us to their newest bistro and cafe. It was just a weekday but Jones All Day was already very busy with happy diners enjoying its charming and relaxing vibe. Congratulations to Raintree Hospitality for another successful new dining concept.
