FOUR people have been arrested for threatening to commit mass shootings over the past two weeks. 3 of them expressed white supremacist racism.
Brandon Wagshol, 22, CT
Tristian Wix, 25, FL
James Reardon Jr., 20, OH
Richard Clayton, 26, FL
Notice any kind of similarity?
“Reardon is an avowed anti-Semite and white nationalist and attended the deadly "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017” - he is literally one of Trump’s “very fine people”
Why is Reardon not being charged with a hate crime? Why aren’t they all being charged with terrorism charges? Our federal laws need to change with these times
There could have been three more mass shootings if these men weren't stopped, authorities say
By Dakin Andone, Harmeet Kaur and Madeline Holcombe | Updated 6:40 PM EDT, Sun August 18, 2019 | CNN | Posted August 18, 2019 6:55 PM ET |
(CNN)Authorities this weekend announced they had foiled three  potential mass shootings after arresting three men in different states who expressed interest in or threatened to carry them out.
All three cases were brought to authorities' attention thanks to tips from the public.
Here's what we know about them.
Police say he had the motivation and the ammunition
In Connecticut, 22-year-old Brandon Wagshol was arrested after authorities said he had expressed interest in committing a mass shooting on Facebook, according to a statement from the FBI and the Norwalk Police Department.
He faces four charges of illegal possession of large capacity magazines, and is being held on a $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court September 6.
According to the statement, authorities received a tip that Wagshol was trying to buy large capacity rifle magazines from out of state.
As the FBI and the Norwalk Police Department were investigating the tip, they discovered Wagshol was trying to build his own rifle and had allegedly posted on Facebook about his interest in committing a mass shooting, the statement said. Authorities did not provide details on what the post said.
Authorities executed a search warrant at his home and found multiple weapons, including a handgun, a rifle, a rifle scope with a laser, numerous rounds of ammunition, body armor, a ballistic helmet and other tactical gear, police said. Some of the weapons were registered to Wagshol's father, but he had access to them, authorities said.
CNN has reached out to the prosecutor and defense attorney.
He allegedly told his ex 'A good 100 kills would be nice'
Tristan Scott Wix of Daytona Beach, Florida, was arrested in a Winn-Dixie parking lot on Friday after he sent his ex-girlfriend a series of disturbing texts in which he allegedly threatened to commit a mass shooting, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said. The ex-girlfriend alerted authorities.
In the messages, the 25-year-old said he wanted to open fire on a large crowd of people, the sheriff's office said in a news release. "A good 100 kills would be nice," one message allegedly read. Wix also said he already had a location in mind, according to the sheriff's office.
"A school is a weak target.. id be more likely to open fire on a large crowd of people from over 3 miles away.. I'd wanna break a world record for longest confirmed kill ever," another message read, according to the sheriff's office.
Wix wrote that he wanted to die and "have fun doing it," authorities said.
Volusia County Sheriff Michael Chitwood said on CNN Sunday that authorities had recovered a .22-caliber hunting rifle and 400 rounds of ammo in Wix's apartment. Wix had initially told investigators he did not own any firearms but that he was fascinated with mass shootings, the sheriff's office said.
Wix was being held without bond Sunday at the Volusia County Branch Jail. CNN could not immediately determine Sunday whether Wix had an attorney.
He's accused of threatening a Jewish community center
And in Ohio, 20-year-old James Patrick Reardon was arrested for allegedly threatening to carry out a shooting at a Youngstown Jewish community center.
An Instagram account belonging to Reardon shared a video that showed a man firing a gun, New Middletown Police Chief Vincent D'Egidio told CNN. The post -- which was shown to an officer out on an unrelated call -- tagged the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, D'Egidio said.
It's unclear whether the man shooting the gun was Reardon or someone else.
Andy Lipkin, the executive vice-president of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation, said the post was accompanied by a caption that read, "Police identified the Youngstown Jewish Family Community shooter as local white nationalist Seamus O'Rearedon" -- Seamus being a Gaelic version of Reardon's name.
The rest of the Instagram account contained anti-Semitic comments, white nationalist content, and images of Reardon or someone else shooting guns, D'Egidio said.
A search warrant was executed and authorities found a cache of weapons and ammunition, D'Egidio told CNN.
Reardon was arrested without incident and booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Saturday on one count of telecommunications harassment and one count of aggravated menacing, according to online jail records. He's set to be arraigned Monday morning, the police chief said.
It was unclear whether Reardon was represented by an attorney.
CNN's Taylor Romine, Shawn Nottingham, Kristina Sgueglia and Melissa Alonso contributed to this report.

White Domestic Terrorism is a threat to National Security  #TrumpsTerrorists
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Tristan Scott Wix, of Daytona Beach, sent several text messages stating he wanted to "break a world record for longest confirmed kill ever."
in another message, Wix texted he wanted to reach 100 victims and had decided on a location. It was unclear who Wix was texting or how deputies obtained the information.
He said he wanted to shoot into a large crowd from three miles away.

In the few weeks since the twin massacres in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, at least  three people have been separately arrested for plotting mass shootings.
Authorities in Connecticut took 22-year-old Brandon Wagshol into custody last Thursday. Wagshol had posted racist and homophobic rhetoric on Facebook, where he’d also reportedly expressed an interest in committing a mass shooting. He was arrested for attempting to import high-capacity rifle magazines.
A day later police in Florida arrested 25-year-old Tristan Scott Wix, who told his girlfriend he wanted to open fire on a “large crowd” and that he wanted “100 kills.” The next day in New Middletown, Ohio, police arrested a self-described white nationalist who had also participated in the Unite the Right rally. James Reardon had amassed an arsenal of weapons and had threatened a local Jewish community center.
But the threats haven’t stopped there. On Monday it was revealed that the same day that Wix was arrested, authorities in Memphis, Tennessee, took 38-year-old truck driver Thomas McVicker into custody for making “credible threats to conduct a mass shooting.” McVicker had allegedly planned to shoot up a church in Tennessee, then turn the gun on himself.
The next day, authorities in Pennington County, South Dakota, arrested a man who was planning to attack local and federal government entities. It was revealed the same day that police in New Jersey arrested 57-year-old Jospeh Rubino for possessing a stockpile of assault weapons, including a grenade launcher.
When they searched his home, authorities also discovered neo-Nazi paraphernalia and a document “containing racist material and purporting to be an instruction manual for owning a slave.”
News of Rubino’s July 24 arrest only became public this week. Police only discovered Rubino’s arsenal after he wrecked his van while driving it, and officers assisting him noticed weapons and ammunition in the rear of the vehicle.
Around the same time that Rubino’s arrest became public, federal authorities announced the arrest of Eric Lin, who allegedly sent a barrage of messages to an unidentified woman in Miami outlining how he wanted the “extermination of all Hispanics.” Lin also posted in July that “I thank God everyday President Donald John Trump is President and that he will launch a Racial War and Crusade.”  He has been charged with making threatening communications.
The barrage of threats demonstrates how each mass shooting provides a source of inspiration for additional would-be attackers. This is particularly true of far-right shooters, who sometimes post extremist manifestos that give other radicalized people tactical knowledge and motivation, which accelerate fresh attacks.
Law enforcement, however, is picking up the pace of their response. After the El Paso attack, FBI Director Christopher Wray ordered field offices across the country to conduct further threat assessments in order to help local law enforcement prevent further attacks. The agency said it was worried that the attacks could inspire other would-be shooters to engage in “similar acts of violence.”

Six Mass Shootings Thwarted Since El Paso
In the two weeks since a gunman killed 22 people in El Paso, law enforcement officials say they have thwarted six separate mass shootings or white supremacist attacks, The Guardian reports. At least four of the alleged foiled plots also appeared to involve men espousing far-right viewpoints and racist ideologies, with echoes of the Texas massacre. The 21-year-old suspect in that shooting, considered the deadliest anti-Latino attack in modern U.S. history, allegedly authored a racist anti-immigrant “manifesto.” In online posts, the suspects in these recent cases targeted LGBTQ people, Jewish people, black Americans, Latinos and Muslims. Four of them were white men in their 20s, and all but one of them were believed to be armed, some with extensive weaponry.
Five days after the El Paso attack, police arrested Conor Climo, 23, saying the Las Vegas man wanted to attack Jews and an LGBTQ bar and was trying to build a bomb. A week later, Brandon Wagshol, 22, was arrested in Connecticut after he allegedly wrote on Facebook of his interest in committing a mass shooting. In Daytona Beach, Fl., Tristan Scott Wix, 25, was arrested Friday after he allegedly sent violent and threatening texts to his ex-girlfriend, saying he wanted to commit a mass shooting. The next day, New Middletown, Oh., police charged James Reardon, 20, saying he had threatened to commit a shooting at a Jewish community center. Authorities announced Tuesday the arrest of Maryland resident Eric Lin, 35, for social media threats against Miami Hispanics. Also on Tuesday, law enforcement announced the arrest of Thomas Matthew McVicker, 38, a truck driver accused of threatening a mass shooting at a Memphis church. Brian Levin of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism said there is often a cluster of violent threats and possible copycat attacks after high-profile mass shootings.
