hi there can i ask what are your favourite fics??
ahhhhhh this was so hard to narrow down since i think i have something like 300 beatles fics bookmarked on ao3 (plus a ton saved from livejournal but i’ve only included ao3 ones here). at first i was gonna pick a top 5 or top 10 but that was too hard so here are my top 24-ish i think? could have picked a lot more tbh. i only included fics that are completed, even though there are a lot i love that are either WIP or abandoned. also didn’t include any modern AUs though there’s a lot of those that i love as well! if anyone has any specific requests for other fic reqs i’m always happy to suggest more :)
on our way back home by kathleenishereagain
this fic has the most kudos in the fandom for a reason! old paul time travels back to the touring days and his relationship with john changes from there. love the way they integrated the magical realism into this and it’s just such a beautiful, touching story.
knowing that the sun is there by tarenas
john comes out after brian dies. lovely look at john’s individual relationships with all of the beatles and cynthia (but especially his relationship with paul of course)
cutting water with a knife by savageandwise
may’s perspective on john and paul. love love love. heartbreakingly realistic and so poignant. feels like it could have been a cut chapter out of loving john.
i’m so tired, my mind is set on you by dornfelder
god how i wish this is what would have happened in india. i’ve read this fic so many times, it just feels so real i keep coming back to it.
india, actually by inspiteallthedanger
jane notices that john’s india tapes are all of paul a la love actually. love jane in this and paul and john’s dynamic is great.
grow old with me by inherownwrite
john and paul in scotland in the 80s - paul breaks his arm and gives john a fright. such a tender picture of what could have been had things not ended how they did.
i was a younger man then (now) (post hoc) by fingersfallingupwards
using the time traveller’s wife premise in quite literally the best way i have ever read. the way it unfolds is…. stunning.
having coffee by dornfelder
old paul and john reflecting on life and being outed in the 80s through an interview. lovely.
to lead a better life by downtothelastdrop
1966 ringo mistakenly thinks john and paul are together, leading to a revelation of paul’s own.
going nowhere by inspiteallthedanger
fix-it where after surviving the shooting, john moves back to england.
if i could choose my own name, it’d be the one that falls best from your lips by kandakicksass
one of my favourite reincarnation fics ever. i really enjoyed how simple it was, how the pieces just slid into place so naturally.
the birthday party by merseydreams
everyone reunites for ringo’s 40th in july 1980. an excellent look at the dynamic between all the bugs and how things could have gone.
something old something new by inspiteallthedanger
john shows up to pattie and eric’s wedding causing a beatles reunion for the first time in years and some shenanigans and talks with paul. this fic is hilarious and THIS is my george, i love him so much
1967 by please_dont_wake_me
paul and john stay in paris after their 1961 trip. they return to liverpool in 1967 as a couple. this feels so real, the way every minor character is written… the dynamics between them all - every detail is excellent.
the beatles holiday au series by econhomework
an AU that follows john and paul (and george/ringo) being a committed couple in the 60s/70s and having their children via surrogacy. i’ve been subscribed to this series for years now and it’s a lot of fun getting an update that builds upon the last around every holiday, giving a little snippet into their lives as the kids grow up chronologically. (they also have other fics set in this AU in their beatles fic requests series)
the brother dearest series by javelinbk
jim and mimi get married, causing john and paul to become step-brothers (sort of). interesting premise and an even better execution of it. not to mention the idea of jim and mimi getting together will never fail to make me laugh (but also sort of makes a lot of sense???)
how much was mine to keep by mynamesbetty
paul is ‘unstuck in time’ and lives his life out of order a la slaughterhouse five (one of my favourite novels). done very well.
take a sad song and make it better by javelinbk
1980s paul moves his ex-boyfriend into his house because he’s an idiot but i love him. great fix-it.
christmas lights (keep shinin’ on) by distinguished_like
paul invites john to the mccartney family christmas party, leading to some discussions between the two. very cute early years fic.
here today by herspecialagent005
december 1980 except john and paul are hosting a dinner party for some friends in scotland, with magical realism elements. ugh loved this so much, especially linda and just all the little details of john and paul settling into a life together.
kissing the blarney by tikk
paul is the blarney - this turns into a superstitious ritual in the band which emotionally complicates things but ends very satisfyingly.
writing letters (on my wall) by 15clubsaday
70s paul writes to john under a pseudonym while they aren’t speaking. newly finished and wonderful!
the jumper by merseydreams
john sees denny laine wearing HIS jumper and flies back to england to retrieve it. this fic has everything: miscommunication, john being a dumb shite, jealousy, confused denny laine, paul in all his 70s glory, and lesbian linda. truly could not ask for more.
back to where you belong by sleeprettydarling
george on johnandpaul throughout the early years. i’m a big sucker for the george & johnandpaul dynamic and how complicated and devastating it can be so naturally i loved this.

Travel place Idea 2023
Maui
Maui is a small island in Hawaii, with white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. It's a popular tourist destination for its beauty and variety of activities. You can enjoy breathtaking views from the top of Haleakala volcano or hike through rainforest trails on the slopes of Haleakala.
Maui has some amazing waterfalls like Wailea Falls or Wailua Falls which are both part of the Hawaiian Islands National Wildlife Refuge (HINWR). You can also visit Lana'i or Lanai if you want to see some more beautiful beaches like Black Rock Beach or Kukuiula Beach Park where people come here during summer months because there is no waves so it's very safe for swimming too!
Another great place to visit while staying in Maui would be Wailea Golf Club where there are lots more things besides just playing golfing games such as tennis courts where players get together after they finish their day’s play; facility includes catering services available 24 hours per day seven days per week including bar service available at various locations throughout property during normal business hours only not available off-site due to liability issues associated with serving alcohol outside licensed premises when customers aren't present within immediate proximity so please make sure everyone behaves responsibly before drinking any alcoholic beverages
alaska
Alaska is the 49th state of the United States and one of the largest, most mountainous, and least densely populated states in the United States. It has been named by Lonely Planet as one of its top 10 destinations for 2019. You can visit this beautiful place by flying to Anchorage or Fairbanks or even by driving through Denali National Park and Preserve.
iceland
Iceland is a country in northern Europe. It's made up of many islands and volcanoes, so it has a lot of natural beauty to offer.
Iceland is home to some of the best hiking trails in all of Europe, as well as some fantastic restaurants and bars that serve traditional Icelandic dishes like whale meat and puffin eggs (which are served on toast). You'll also find plenty of waterfalls if you're looking for something more adventurous than just relaxing by the pool with your friends!
Maldives
Maldives is an island country in the Indian Ocean. It is situated between India and Sri Lanka, atolled by 1,192 coral islands (1,190 if you count the minor atolls). This tiny country has been known as “the land of water” since ancient times because of its vast amounts of water surrounding it.
Maldives offers tourists many things to do: diving with sharks and turtles; snorkeling on coral reefs; walking through tropical forests or exploring ancient temples; eating seafood cooked over coconut husks while taking in the beautiful scenery around you...
Monaco
Monaco is the second smallest country in the world. It has only about 324,000 people and it’s located on the coast of France.
Monaco has a lot of casinos and hotels, but it also has museums like The Musée National des Châteaux de Malmaison and Musée Guggenheim du Design.
france
France is a beautiful country that has many different cities and towns. It is an excellent place to visit if you are looking for culture, history, or even just some good food!
Here are some ideas for your trip:
Paris - Paris is one of the most famous cities in all of Europe. You can visit any one of the museums there and see amazing artworks from around the world! There’s also plenty more going on besides just sightseeing—you could check out some concerts or performances at Les Etoiles de la Rue (the Stars of La Rua), which offers theater performances throughout its three venues: Théâtre de la Bourse; Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier; and Studio Kino. Or if you have time left over after touring these places, why not take part in something like cycling through Montmartre? This hike will take about 2 hours roundtrip depending on how fast/slow paced you want your ride!
We should go traveling with my friends
Traveling with friends is a great way to have fun, relax and meet new people. It’s also an exciting experience that will make you feel like you are living life on your own terms.
Traveling by yourself can be very stressful if you don’t have anyone to share it with or take care of when things get tough. Traveling with other people who care about each other can help relieve some of this stress when traveling together as well as making sure everyone has what they need during their trip (food & water).
Conclusion
We hope this list of travel ideas has given you some inspiration for your next trip! We know that it can be hard to decide where to go and what to see, but these places offer something special for everyone. Whether it's the beautiful landscapes.

Day 44 Driving through the country side
Solo travel obviously comes with some challenges. This morning I had to give myself a talking to, to get out of my pyjamas, get in the car and go somewhere! I hear half of you saying "what would be the problem with staying in your pyjamas all day and going nowhere?" I hear you!
I had a vague plan to visit Alcobaça and then decide whether to go on to Sao Martinho do Porto & Salir do Porto (some places that came up in a google search). I had decided Peniche was a bit too far to include in a day, which also required me to pack my suitcases and try and tetris more purchases in to already full suitcases.
And take it as given, every day I am google searching "coffee roasters", "best cake and coffee", "best vegetarian" and "top rated online" and when I've got a car "free parking".
So I put the free parking Alcobaça location into the car GPS and off I go....narrow country roads doesn't seem quite right. I ended up in the middle of nowhere, but there was a fantastic coastline to my right. I pull over and I'm further away from Alcobaça than when I started. So I search Sao Martinho do Porto, and that is close. I reverse my plans and head to this picturesque bay. It's windy and overcast and there's not many people around. I imagine it's a holiday destination for locals from Lisbon as I'm only 80 minutes from Lisbon and some tourists who have discovered it. I recall the scene from pictures on the google search I did and decide to head right and find the path up to the lighthouse. On the way I came across a tunnel which went to the other side of the cliff and open water. I imagine its purpose is more for fishing as I don't think anyone could swim off there. It is quite windy at the top towards the lighthouse and I considered needing to get on my hands and knees to make it, as the wind was causing me to unbalance. The chapel across the bay was my next challenge.
I hit Salir do Porto on the car GPS and end up on more narrow streets. I swapped to my iphone maps and choose a lookout that I think might be close. And head out, with minimal water, no raincoat and 50% phone charge. I think I'm heading in the right direction. There's no-one around. I come across one house, see two hikers in the distance and on the way back two dudes on mountain bikes. I check my iphone maps a couple of times to make sure I'm heading to a cliff point chapel. I finally get there and feel accomplished. It rains on the way back. Luckily I had enough water and the phone didn't die!
I then feel like Indian for lunch. I google "best Indian near me" and find 4.9 stars at Flavours of India in Caldas da Rainha. Great, only 15 minutes away. Again, narrow streets and no parking, I went around twice and aborted. Pull over punch in Intermarche, they'll have a baguette. No baguettes only fried and bain-marie food. Then I remember seeing Atelier do Doce this morning. GPS says 15 minutes, I'm on my way, back through country roads, getting lost, pulling over and then I find it, it's after 1.30pm, and they're open (I've learnt to check the opening hours).....it's meant to be, OMG a shop filled with pastries and desserts. I order a smoked salmon baguette, chat to the waiter about what the drinks are (she mentions I make and Ginja, and sparking and something else), then I back that up with a delicious chocolate tart and decent cappucino (no chocolate, this is the closest thing I can get to a latte if I'm not at a coffee roaster), three more treats to take home and that's a wrap at $23.
I punch in the free parking destination in Alcobaça and end up on more country roads. It's fun for about 20 minutes and then I'm done with that. I pull over and just punch in Alcobaça and find the first park. A 15 minute walk and I'm at the enormous Monastery. I decide not to pay the €10 to go in, but visit the church instead and wonder around the village and look at the local craft. It's a lovely place and I imagine having lunch in a cafe across from the Monastery would be a delightful experience.
I've had a big enough day and lots of fun despite my earlier hesitation about going out at all. Time to go and see if a handbag I saw on day 1 in Nazaré is still in the shop, and it is, but I decide not to purchase the fragile items I also eyed off on day 1, as I have fragile items from Obidos. Now for tetris.
