Ok, but so many feelings about Charlie giving Nick the queer experience he himself never got to have?!

Charlie outed with no choice about the matter? Unflinchingly keeps Nick’s sexuality a secret, even when it makes things more painful for Charlie himself.

Had an abusive and toxic first relationship? Is the sweetest, most supportive, loving, healthy boyfriend to Nick.

Was horrifically bullied for being gay? Introduces Nick to a diverse, accepting, LGBTQI+ friend group, so he isn’t trapped in his homophobic social circle.

Just…. Charlie freaking Spring.

When Nick called him the kindest, most thoughtful, caring, amazing person? He’s not wrong.

#narlie #nick x charlie #Obviously Nick did his own work on his queer journey #And without Charlie or someone other than Charlie (holy shit someone like BEN)#it could have gone very differently #And I know there’s a lot of focus on Nick supporting Charlie #Through his insecurities and OCD and ED in later comics/seasons #And working through what Ben did to him #But there’s a lot to be said for the fact that Nick doesn’t have the emotional scars that Charlie has #BECAUSE CHARLIE WAS THERE TO STOP IT HAPPENING #Charlie made sure Nick didn’t go through what he did #Because as Tori says he’s “probably the kindest person in the universe”#charlie spring #and yes Nick also built that support/friendship group #as he befriended Tara and Darcy #but Charlie really gave Nick a support network #and showed a different viewpoint and what accepting friends look llike #heartstopper
