Apparently, my decision to be silly and make fanart of someone's writing (because I genuinely enjoy the story the person is writing and I was struck with inspiration upon reading a particular scene) has benevolent and wildly unforeseen consequences.

I apparently gained a bit of control of the canon because said writer really loved the art and decided what I drew/draw is canon.

2. Writer put said artwork into the document of his story right below the scene, so now it's IN the story where people who read the story will see it (with a link to me)

3. He sent the artwork to all his friends and people he knows because he was so excited

Wholesome interaction and I watched him do all that in real time, good stuff. However...there are two more consequences I was notified of today...nearly a full week after I gave the artwork.

Seeing the artwork caused his friends to become interested in reading and hearing about his story, which means more people are reading what he's writing and giving him critique on the story (which he actively asks for).

Apparently, upon seeing the art, his writer friends got a sudden second wind to pick back up writing they'd abandoned for a few months. Because, I quote, "seeing that someone enjoyed {his} writing enough to take the time to make art of it gave them the motivation that maybe THEY can write something that will inspire someone to also create something." I have accidentally caused a writing frenzy among his writer friends and my silly idea to make art for someone has had a butterfly effect for people who I don't even know.

Uhh...I'm pretty sure there's a moral here but I am tired and have a great deal of emotions about this.

Tired....

This is the first time I'm actually bringing this out of myself.

I have always been the artsy kind of kid since the begining, I liked everything that made me imagine, use my creativity. I wanted to pursue something related to art like fashion designing, or interior designing, be a singer or mostly a writer.

I love love love writing stories, poems, basically anything.

But on the other hand my mom wanted something else out of me.

She always wanted me to be a doctor, since my early childhood shes been telling me how prestigious it is to be a doctor, how it means so much in the society, how amazing the profession is....etc but tbh I never ever ever found it intresting. Infact I hated it but never had the guts to speak out, I know I'm a spineless swine.

Later on she asked me choose science stream for higher studies though I always wanted arts, I did choose science, I did what she said, I couldn't say anything, couldn't break her heart, after all shes my mom, she has sacrificed her whole life for me, I couldn't just abandon her like that.

I try to think like maybe medical is my only option n I dont have to achieve anything I want, I keep telling myself that what I'm doing is right n what I want is wrong, but it's just too difficult to handle this.

But this made me depressed, I already suffered from chronic depression since childhood n now it's like triggered at an optimum level.

I try really hard, I smile all day, laugh at the silliest jokes, pretend everything is fine but at night when I'm on my bed, all alone I realize how messed up I really am. I find myself sinking in an ocean with no bottom.

I dont know where I'm going in life or what I'll do, all I know is I dont want anyone to be upset with me, their opinion matters to me.

Plus I dont have a bestie( i got lot lot lots of friends but not 1 person really knows me for who I'm or what I'm) who could be my rock, nor do I have a boyfriend or girlfriend so its pretty much just my parents and I really care so much about them.

People around me have no idea about what's going on in my mind n i like to keep it that way coz I'm scared, I'm scared what if they dont like me for who I'm. What if I don't fit in their definition of perfect?

Idk these things just keep haunting me all the time.

Sometimes I wish some vehical would hit or something coz I feel living is more difficult than dying.

Here's proof that I take literally everything I do far too seriously

I don't understand replicating someone else's work--like, color by number, coloring pages, or existing cross-stitch patterns. If I don't understand those things, imagine the loss of hope for humanity I felt when I learned you can essentially cross-stitch by number.

But like I said, I know I take everything I do far too seriously. At the same time, I actually went and looked for cross-stitch patterns that I personally might want to purchase. I want something beautiful and kind of unique. I would say 97% of what I found was "edgy/subversive" cross-stitch--it looks like your great grandma's cross-stitch but says stuff like "fuck Disney princesses" or "my mom will eat your face", idk just ridiculous, meme-y things that we'll all cringe at in a year. Personally, I don't want to stitch something like that.

The other three percent was traditional, flowers or chunky, blocky kind of collages or vignettes. Kind of done.

Maybe it's because no one ever discouraged my use of time on creative endeavors, but I've kind of been doing my own thing creatively for a long time. Also, back to taking myself too seriously, time is money and I don't want to waste my precious free time copying someone else. Not everyone makes everything creative that they do a Serious Mission. I understand a lot of people want to relax and unwind and put their time into a tangible thing that they can share with others, and for most people, making a thing is kind of impressive in the first place, and it doesn't matter if you copied.

All of these tools and skills are available to everyone, but for example, I don't think anything short of an apocalypse is going to convince me that I can knit, because unless you forcibly sat me down and taught me, I just don't believe I can learn. Most people are like this over the silliest things, oh I like coloring, but I could never, ever draw!

There's a school of thought in the arts that art should be accessible to everyone. I think that fits pretty well with this replication that happens when you buy someone else's coloring book or pattern or whatever. I get that there's "nothing original" left to be created--everything is based off something. An embroidered story is based off embroidery and visual story telling. The story itself has roots in Cinderella and is inspired by the internet, root of memes. For example. You could pull literally any media apart and trace it back to "roots", real or invented by the searcher. Additionally, in the age of the internet, I can all but have the Mona Lisa in my dwelling by means of photography, the internet, and printing. Anything that exists in the public conscious, no matter how minutely, exists for public consumption and regurgitation, and regurgitated it will be until deep-fried and seven layers of "you just had to be there" in-jokes into obscurity from the original source.

I'm not really sure what I'm getting at. I guess for all I shit on coloring pages and "no count cross stitch" (which is a glorified way of saying stitch by number) and making art something accessified into near unrecognizability, I have to acknowledge that I take everything I do far too seriously, and some people just want to relax and let their mind wander while their hands do all the lifting. It's too bad that the kind of content I would like to create, I'll be building from the ground up--in theory, I'd like to buy something from someone else that's all ready for me to just go to town on.

But for me, I have too much pride in my own work. I want to build my body of work from the ground up. I have very specific interests and I can meet those interests of my own volition. In the creative economy, I serve a very important role. After all, we can't all just color in coloring pages, otherwise who would make more coloring pages for us to color?

At the same time, I'm allowed to be made incredibly sad and disappointed by "no count" stitch by number cross-stitch. It just feels like a dumbing down and commodification of creativity.

Yes, I know back in the guild days, painting students would copy painting masters and it was all copying to learn to copy and replicate the same things over and over. I guess yes, you could argue against me that it's kind of like a master dispersing their mastery in a very hands off way, and threw internet makes it easy for all those students to reach out to each other and help each other learn.

So it is well within my rights to be disappointed. There's no one way to be creative and to make. I'm allowed to be sad and disappointed about this. I'm not attacking any one person; I think if anyone is under fire, it's the companies that hand out crutches to people to be like, making is easy, look, I practically did the whole thing for you so you'll never actually have to figure out all this stuff and your "creativity" is utterly dependent on me doing all these steps for you! That's what makes me sad, and I know others will disagree for their personal reasons.

(Eggs, litters, etc) I would probably keep sex but both sexes have equal sets of downstairs genitals but keeping the boobs on girls thing. But instead of weird squishy eggs, people would actually have leathery snake eggs and there’d be tons of commercial products for calcium deficiency and egg candelling would be huge as well as egg painting like Easter for baby pics. And if the egg was unwanted there’d be less protest because it’s just an egg. Children would be born smaller but more independent and milk isn’t hugely necessary but can be used to feed it.  And like egg cutting is a hugely debated topic. 7: What's the weirdest thing you've ever experienced, may it be just reading about it or experiencing it in the flesh? This is really hard for me because I honestly can’t think of anything that’s struck me as weird? 8: You can choose any world to go to from any book, movie, video, fanficion, etc, and the option to become the main character. Where would you go, and would you be involved in the main story, or just watching on the sidelines? THIS ONE IS SO HARD Because like partially there’s Naruto but also there’s X-men but like also I’d want to be some kind of animal hybrid so probably something like that (furry trash). But I’m also writing a story right now that is very magical so of course I’d want to be in that world. And probably be a side character involved in the main story but like... not enough to die a tragic death xD. 9: What is one thing in this world you would get rid of if you knew it'd be erased from the entire history of the human race?
