Tumblr media
The sky had a thick layer of grey over it. The destruction to manhattan causing cement and other forms of pollution to take over the air.
Swinging your weapon aimlessly you tried to fight off the growing hoard of monsters. It was hard, fighting for gods know how many hours, seeing people you loved and care for die in-front of you and slowly loosing your siblings.
What hurt the most was seeing kids you grew up and laughed with fighting against you. Fighting for a cause that would benefit no one, fighting for what seemed like a dream that was never going to be real.
Trudging into a hidden alley way you lifted up your shirt. Looking down you saw the poisoned arrow shot wound becoming purple; throbbing harder and harder by the second.
Muffling your scream you pulled the dirty bandages off your body, tossing them into a dumpster. Rummaging through the bag at your side you quickly tried to change the dressings.
In the middle of war a second of peace was rare, a moment to asses your injuries was non existent, a chance to mentally reflect on your surroundings ended in death.
Death that forever followed you.
Standing stiff you were almost to scared to look down. If you gas lighted yourself enough you couldn’t feel it, it wouldn’t be true. It was foolish to think that you could of hidden from war.
“Checkmate” a raspy voice behind you whispered. Tyla.. s a daughter of Tyche and a friend who you had always competed with. Simple childish competion that eventually ended in celestial bronze piercing through your gut.
You’ve never been the best fighter but receiving deadly wounds twice in one day was setting the bar low. Pulling her sword out you fell to your knees, a metallic sound swinging in the air and hitting you in the back of your throat.
Tylas rough combat boot pressed your face into the gravel, tears quickly falling out of your face. “See You in hell” sliding the rubber bottom off your cheek she spat on you. Walking away with the intent to kill another.
Laying in the dirty alley way your thoughts went from the pain slowly leaving your body to memories of her. Of clarisse.
Sitting on the doc together where you shared your first kiss at sun down.
The first argument which ended with you both apologizing and laying together.
Sneaking into the ares cabin just to get caught the following day because you accidentally grew dead roses outside her window.
The awkward confession and her asking you on a date.
… the promise you made to clarisse that you would come back alive.
You woke up laying on a mat, a few medics crowded around you and the crying face of the woman you loved above. You couldn’t help but smile, even in her worst clarisse still looked beautiful.
Will reached over and grabbed her arm squeezing it. “She doesn’t have long” he mumbled closing his eyes. “Be quick” he softly spoke, standing up and walking to another kid.
You tried to move but she quickly took your body into her arms. “Hey, hey don’t.. just rest” clarisse tried to stay strong but right now she couldn’t help but loose it all. “You gonna be fine” her voice broke.
Tears began falling from her eyes and hitting your face. Her weak expression destroyed your heart.
Grabbing her shirt as it was the closest you could Get to touching her. “I’m ok… everything’s ok” you whispered. Clafisse just shook her head, the color was quickly leaving your face. “I just have to visit my mom for a little while, it’ll just be for a few weeks ok”
Clarisse brought your body to hers, hiding her face in your neck. Your arms went lip and around you both dead flowers and weeds appeared. As a daughter of Persephone death followed you every where, even in your final moments.
It felt as though the world stopped. That the outside wasn’t real and this all was a bad dream but even the strongest warriors had to accept when the sun came up.

1, 5, 7, and 9 for the alan wake trio :}
are they associated with a certain color? what color do they wear the most?
Navy: Ironically, she is not associated with the color she's named after- she's associated with purple!! And she tends to wear mostly black with splashes of purple and blue (usually in the form of denim).
Jillian: Jillian is associated with bright yellow, like the cult's symbols painted on things, but also just bc she likes it in contrast to what she wears...which is mostly black and neutrals.
Josephine: I associate pink with Josephine!! It's her favorite color and her girlfriend being named Rose and wearing a pink diner uniform? Yeah ^_^ and she mostly wears black, pink, purple, and grey.
how do they typically dress? does their wardrobe lean more towards practicality or aesthetics?
Navy: I've drawn Navy in her usual outfit but she wears this mock corset, skinny jeans, and heeled boots with lots of belts and bracelets. She dresses like a rocker, I guess. Definitely more on the aesthetic side.
Jillian: Before The Incident, Jillian would dress pretty alternative and fashion over function, but living in Watery and working at the docks and being in the Cult, she's definitely more into practicality now. Sweaters, jeans, boots. A rain slick and deer mask for Cult activities, ofc. And her modified Cult symbols necklace on her at all times.
Josephine: Comfort over all else. She likes loose clothing, casual things. Usually seen in big sweaters with leggings and combat boots. For shows she'd dress more alternative, but living in Bright Falls she's very casual and simple.
favorite animal? why?
Navy: Weird for her location and all that but sea turtles!! She just thinks they're so precious.
Jillian: Raccoons. She kind of feels kinship with them, and thinks they're adorable.
Josephine: Frogs!! Especially tree frogs. I think at one point when she's settled down with Rose, she should get a pet one.
favorite food? least favorite? are they a picky eater? do they have any dietary restrictions?
Navy: Favorite food is quesadilla. Least is bacon. She's a fairly picky eater and mostly eats pretty mild and easy to make stuff like the humble quesadilla.
Jillian: Favorite food is salmon. Least is any other kind of meat than seafood. She's a pescetarian!!
Josephine: Favorite food is macaroon. Least is meatloaf. Josephine really prefers sweets to real food but when it comes to actual food she's more of a noodles person.
Thank you for asking!! 🩷🩷🩷🩷

For the various questions : "don't you know what you mean to me" for Trammander 🥰🥰🥰
trammander beloveds <3 i gotta start with them, haven't trammander in literal forever <333
--- Fort Trinity, 1325 AE
-- slight nsfw mention, i suppose???
"Need help with those?" Nyra tries keeping her voice as casual as she can; really, her question is a normal one, she sees her Marshall bent over papers and plans and as the military arm of the Pact, she offers help. No need to get it all wobbly and excited.
Of course, she made sure her uniform was as pristine as it was going to get. She even had her hair braided by a norn adjutant, in a mixture of human and norn styles that she thinks suits her face well. He'll most likely notice, but can you fault her for wanting to dress up a little in the middle of warfare?
"You should stretch your shoulders a bit, too," she adds. "I don't know how sylvari bodies work but my back would hurt if I was bent over the table for a long time like that."
Wouldn't mind being bent over by him, though, her brain supplies and she chases the thought away with a pitchfork.
He looks up from the plans and rolls his shoulders back, as she requested. His chest puffs and widens and his neck curves beautifully as he stretches it and groans. Nyra has to look away to save face before he looks at her.
"I was going to send for you anyway," Trahearne says softly. "There are things I need to talk to you regarding these."
"Intuition," she says. Her boots thud along as she comes to settle by his side. Sea wind carries over from the open window and rustles his leaves and the loose ends of her hair. Her heart hammers in her chest, as it likes to do when they're this close and alone.
"Your intuition is very good, Lyss," he agrees. "This is the third time it's made you appear on my doorstep right when I was about to ask for you." There's a little twinkle in his eye.
"I'm just doing my job, Trahearne," she clears her throat as warmth spreads on her cheeks. "Intuition and gut feeling can save your life in combat situations, actually. It's a very useful thing to have when you're out there and alone and looking after yourself." Nyra looks over the plans once more - a simple battle formation anyone would know. Emboldened, she looks him in the eye. "Although you're far too quick to call for consultations for battle plans three times in a row," she adds conspiratorially. "Unless you wanted to purposefully see me?"
"I do find your company quite pleasant," he says, a little stiffly.
"Do you now," Nyra barks out a laugh. Pride swells in her chest. Not the most graceful use of tactics for making a move, but she'll take it.
"It's always pleasant in the company of an equal," he replies, more confidently this time, and his hand comes to rest beside hers on the table.
Nyra looks down on the metal table and smiles. "It is, yeah," she murmurs. Her pinkie wraps around his and she takes a chance to marvel at his long fingers. "Is that what you see me as though, for real? An equal?" She's not fishing for praise nor does she particularly need it, but it feels nice to hear it from him. It warms something in her that she doesn't want or see going cold anytime soon.
"Of course," he chuckles, adjusting his hand to be slightly over hers. She makes a face or he sees something else he likes, because he's just staring for a few more moments before he answers. "You are my equal in every respect, Lyss. It'd be rather foolish to not take your counsel into account, I think."
"For simple battle plans?"
"For that and so much more."
"Flatterer," she says. Trahearne laughs.
"I aim to please."
She later leaves with two observations: one is that she knows the most basic of basic battle tactics like the palm of her hand, and the other is that she is so hopelessly in love with Trahearne. And a logical conclusion would be she needs to upgrade her strategy if she wants to make any progress on that front.

Anodyne
by Melos Han-Tani, Marina Kittaka
Price (US): $9.99
Included In: Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality, Indie Bundle for Palestinian Aid
Genre: Adventure
Pitch: What if Link traded his sword for a broom?
My expectations: If I'm not mistaken, the Anodyne series is well regarded. I've played a chunk of both games and liked this one better than its sequel, but I still found it underwhelming. Were my first impressions correct, or will it finally win me over today?
Review:
In the original The Legend of Zelda, protagonist Link stabbed Zols and Kees with a sword.
Tumblr media
Anodyne’s protagonist, Young, stabs slimes and bats with a broom. Not, like, the sharpened handle of a broom. He just walks up to monsters and stabs them with bristles.
Tumblr media
All subsequent, top-down Zelda games had Link swing his sword in an arc, which not only looked less awkward than the slow stab, but added nuance to combat. I won’t go into a thorough analysis of Zelda combat through the ages, but while I’ll concede that cloning the first game’s basic sword attack is a valid choice, it’s an odd one. It worked in that game because the sword was one of many tools, meant to be used in concert with shields, boomerangs, and bombs. The sword could shoot laser swords.
Tumblr media
In my time with Anodyne, Young picked up keys, health pips, and eventually a pair of jumping boots. I explored vast swaths of the world, conquering dungeon after dungeon, and everywhere I went, I stabbed the same slimes and bats with the same broom.
Tumblr media
It’s a dreary, wearying slog, tragically devoid of nuance and wonder.
+ On rare occasions, fighting monsters, solving puzzles, and collecting keys in a dungeon creates a sense of progress, and a fleeting glimmer of Zelda magic shines on Anodyne. + In addition to functioning as a broom, the broom can be...a broom. Puzzles that involve sweeping up dust and depositing it elsewhere are generally successful. + Simple controls. + Occasionally gets dark and weird. More of that, please!
– If you're ripping off Zelda, rip off Zelda! Where are all the items? – To quote that Zelda commercial, "Which? Way? To? Go?" I want to get a little lost in a game like this, but give me some direction. The map and the fast-travel system are invaluable, but they're not at all user friendly. – Combat stinks. Movement is generally is slow and clunky. – Miserable music that sucks all the joy out of adventuring. If the rest of the game were oppressively depressing, maybe it would work. Instead we have a light, goofy, broom-stabbing Zelda adventure that's determined not to have any fun.
🧡🧡🤍🤍🤍
Bottom Line: Play a real Zelda game.

"ALMOST BROKE UP A COUPLE" 😂😂😂😂 Please I need this story 👀👀👀
Ok. Tea time.
Tumblr media
So...
I am at this Mediterranean restaurant that I really like and there was a couple sitting behind me not too close. A man and a woman. I got up to go wash my hands and when I came back I learned from my companion that when I walked away the man stared at me from head to toe and his girlfriend noticed and yelled at him.
"WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?"
He just let out a nervous laugh but she was real pissed.
"DON'T PLAY FUCKING DUMB." She yelled again.
And then my companion was just looking at the whole thing like
Tumblr media
And received a death glare from the yelly woman. When I returned, I heard the whole story and was like
Tumblr media
I know what you must be thinking... "Well, what the hell was she wearing?" I was wearing jeans, a tank top, and suspenders, and combat boots. It's pretty much how i dress.
And it's not the first time something like this happens to me. Oh no.
It just amazes me how toxic some people can be. They're strangers and I am a stranger too. What exactly did this chick think would happen after her boyfriend stared at me? I didn't even notice. I was told all this when i returned to my table. Did she think i was going to stare back and be like
Tumblr media
then steal her disrespectful dude and marry him right then and there orrrr???
My point is, if you cannot trust the person you're dating, DON'T DATE THEM. It's that simple.
If your significant other doesn't have the common sense to NOT stare at other ppl while they're with you, DON'T DATE THEM.
If you know you're a very insecure and jealous person who will want to be in control of their partner, even their eyes, DON'T DATE until you've worked this out by yourself or by going to therapy. Otherwise, you will only hurt others AND yourself.
Jesus...

Heya! I don’t know if you’re taking requests or not but if you are can you write a story about Sal and the gang at prom? Thxxx 💕
huh. i've never been asked for requests- hope this is what you wanted! (may be sloppy because I am just doing this in a tumblr ask!)
content warnings: homophobia (mentioned, micro-aggressions), mild language, drinking (mentioned, not underage)
Sal adjusts his tie for the seven-hundredth time, every time he moved it he swore it was either strangling him or it was about to fall off. The gang had ended up with Larry driving them to the prom, Ash called shotgun and was sitting in front, while Sal sat at the back, next to Neil and Todd. Obviously, with three seats he would normally sit in the middle, being the smallest, it would be easier, but with the school very likely to separate the couple from dancing, they had to take advantage of their time.
Sal was wearing a simple tuxedo, he'd had to put several safety pins on it, his dad couldn't afford to buy a new one, so he had to wear his. A part of Sal wished his dad could've helped, but he'd had a hard day at work and ended up drinking as soon as he got home. Larry wears a dress shirt over some torn up jeans, to tie it all together, some combat boots. Ash wore a purple dress, which ended at her knees, and fishnet leggings underneath. Even with Sal knowing he and Ash would never work, he couldn't help but admit how amazing she looked. Todd and Neil were the only ones in the group going as a couple, they co-ordinated their outfits, Neil wearing a navy over-shirt over a buttoned up shirt, and Todd wearing a dark red one. They even had matching roses.
Sal sighs quietly, grabbing his phone to use the shitty camera to see how his tie looks.
Neil glances over and to Sal's embarrassment asks "Do you need help with that?"
Sal shakes his head, "No.. I think I've got it."
"Dude. You tied it wrong," bluntly states the ginger sitting next to him, "Mind if I retie it for you?" Sal desperately wanted to say no, but he couldn't, "Go ahead, just don't strangle me."
"Not without consent." Todd states bluntly as he starts retying it, Sal inadvertently backs up, cackling like a hyena.
Neil chokes out an amused "Todd!"
At the front Larry snorted, trying to focus on the road, while Ash laughed loudly. Sal feels Todd start retying it again, with a shit eating grin. After a moment he's done, Sal gives a small tug to the tie, making sure it doesn't get out of place, "Thanks, man." Todd gives the shorter teen a thumbs up and goes back to laying on Neil.
--- After walking in the team ended up sitting at a table, the prom was simply inside the gym, several tables were laid out, some had cheap table cloth on them, most not. Neil and Todd were dancing together, leading Ash, Sal, and Larry to sit at the table, just chatting.
Larry takes a sip of the soda he'd ordered and turns to Ash, "How come you came here? You never seemed to like these dances much."
Sal tilts his head at his brother, "I don't think any of us really wanted to be here." Ash nods, quietly thinking of an answer, "I wasn't going to come until Sal decided to, honestly. It's kind of boring, but there's something.. interesting? About a dance," Ash waves a hand over to a particular touchy couple, "everyone's either trying to fuck each other," she then gestures to Todd and Neil, "Actually trying to have a decent time."
Larry makes a fake grossed out face at the dancing couple, "They're so happy together, it almost makes me sick."
Sal chuckles, "Come on, you watched a shit ton of romcoms with me, and you're freaking out over it in real life?"
Ash puts a hand over her heart, mocking offense, "Didn't being forced to watch terrible romcoms mean something?"
It was Sal's turn to pretend to be offended, "Terrible! Aren't you in art class? You said all art was pretty!"
Ash mutters something incomprehensible to him. Larry tilts his head, "What?"
Ash chuckles, "Live, laugh, love."
Larry slowly puts his head in his hands, "Oh. My. God."
Staring over towards the exit, Sal spots a certain terrible haircut, with way-too-bright-to-work-with-his-skin-tone blond hair. The tallest of the group notices the other's line of sight, "No the fuck you aren't."
Ash stares over, glinting her eyes, "If this weren't a formal dance I would punch him."
Sal waves a hand, "Since last year we've had a few conversations, he's changed. He's just lonely and filled with self loathing." Larry groans, "Your choice, but if he lays a finger on you, I'm beating the shit out of him, dance or no dance."
Sal gets up, "Yeah, yeah. He only really hated me."
Ash fidgets with her dress, "Yeah, that's the problem. It's your choice but.."
Larry shakes his head, "You're too nice, man."
Sal was hardly listening, already heading over to the boy, "Hey, long time no see?"
Sal just knew Travis enough to know when the other boy was being sarcastic, "Couldn't get you out of my hair if I tried."
Despite the fact the blue-hair knew he couldn't see it, he grins under his mask, "Come on, you know you love me." he says jokingly.
Travis stiffens, "No- I.."
Sal fidgets with his own sleeves, "Sorry, are you alright to sit with me and my friends? I told them to be civil."
Travis groans, very clearly trying to hide the facade of not having a crush on fucking Sally Face, "Uh yeah, sure, my dad forces me to go here, then I get called over by the blue haired bitch." He grins, losing a bit of his composure, "Yeah, I'd love to. Are your friends fine with it? I can see Larry trying to murder me with his eyes." Sal chuckles, "Don't worry, you haven't picked on me in ages, just make sure to keep that up."
The blond puts a hand on the back of his neck, "I can do that, but I probably won't be here for long anyways."
The masked boy nods, leading Travis over to the table, after a moment of hesitation, he sits down next to Sal. He quietly sighs, looking over to Sal's friends, "I know I haven't been very nice to all of you and I'm sorry about that."
Ash blankly stares at him, a bit surprised, she gives Sal a look, as if to ask if he put him up to this, Sal shrugs.
Larry rolls his eyes, "You're just lucky you're not easy to strangle."
Travis laughs at that, surprisingly, "Yeah, I know," he looks over towards the others, "Do either of you like school brownies?" Larry stares at him suspiciously, while Ash half-heartidly nods.
Travis stands up, walking over to a one of the main entrance tables, during this Neil and Todd sit down at the table, clearly bothered.
Todd sighs, "I think.. that we might have to leave soon."
"But we just got here!" Ash complains.
Neil puts a hand over the back of his neck, the other holding Todd's, "A teacher just got onto us. Can't stand us, apparently." Todd leans on Neil, "I hate teachers." Neil plants a small kiss on the other's forehead. As this is happening, Travis sits back over to the table awkwardly looking over to the couple, he grabs some brownies, covered in plastic wrap, out of his pockets, handing them to the others who were at the table before.
Todd glances awkwardly at Larry, who was already unwrapping his brownie, there was an unspoken agreement that they both couldn't stand Travis.
The blond in question slumps over the table, farther off from how proud he seems during school, "Sorry, I should've figured you guys would sit over here, especially with.." Travis looks over to the teachers watching over the students, "Them."
Sal puts the brownie he'd gotten into one of his pockets, he'd taken a little extra of his meds before to be up for this and they killed his appitite. It wasn't healthy, but it did make sure he could act 'normal.'
Todd leans up from his position, "You aren't going to say anything?"
The blond sighs, "No. I'm sorry I was rude to you guys before, that was wrong of me. I'm happy for you really, it's unfair you guys can't dance too."
Neil half grins, "We're too cool for prom."
---
The conversation went on like that for the next hour, it was surprisingly calm. Even from Travis' angle, who seemed to be trying hard not to step over anyone's boundaries. Lucky for them, the teachers didn't care all too much unless, the horror, a gay couple dances together. It seemed to be a relief for the group.

"I'ma break you off, let me be your motivation"
index
Today was the day you and the rest of class 1A can finally try out their hero costumes. You smiled, looking at yourself in the mirror, giving yourself butterflies as you do so.
Your hero costume was a simple black bodysuit type. Garters attacked to the clothing helped keep your thigh high boots up. The top covered your entire arms, hands and fingers- you designed it this way so your palms wouldn’t be littered with callouses given that you deal with weapons like swords and scythes every time you use your quirk.
The bodysuit is a title neck type that showed off your shoulders. Your costume is finished off with a full face black kitsune mask with glowing blue paint around the eyes, it makes up the whiskers as well as a little nose of a fox.
You keep it up on your head, not wanting to put it on unless you're engaging in combat.
You close your locker, joining the girls who are hyping each other up in what they’re wearing. You all step out of the changing area and you can’t help but feel giddy as you approach your teachers, excited with the activities for today.
Everyone begins freaking out at the site of All Might- which you don’t get at all. He’s blond, has a freakish smile and a built body. So what? “Who’s he?” You whisper at Mina who looks at you as if you’ve grown two heads.
“What?”
You sigh, “Who’s he? And why is everyone freaking out about him?” You ask again and Mina gives you that same look, but much worse. She’s acting as if you’ve just asked a very stupid question. “That’s All Might.” She answers, tone unusually calm and soft.
“I meat who is he?”
“The number one hero.”
You furrow your brows, gaze scanning the man who’s busy talking in front of the awestruck class. You tilt your head to the side, “That’s your number one pro hero?” You ask, pouting.
“You sound a lot of things- underwhelmed? Disappointed? Dissatisfied?” Bakugou says from behind you, the look in his eyes catching you off guard. You pause for a moment, choosing your words carefully to make sure you’re not offending anyone who’s within earshot.
“You look up to him?” You ask and he raises a brow at you as if you’ve just asked the most obvious question in all time. “He’s been my hero since forever. I look up to him more than anyone in the world. He’s my inspiration and the one of the biggest contributors to my dream go being a hero.” Your eyebrows lift in shock, you’ve never heard nor seen Bakugou respect a person so much. And by the looks of Mina, Kirishima and Denki, they haven’t seen this side of him either.
Your heart breaks as you return your gaze to the number one hero in front of you, smiling sadly. You don't know how or why, but your judgement tells you that the seven-footer man in front of you isn't all that powerful- not anymore at least.
"Here's the breakdown. There will be four teams of two- half of them will be heroes and the other half will be villains. The hero team can win in two ways; you can either capture the villains or retrieve the bomb. The villain team wins if the hero team is unable to do any of the tasks within the time limit." He explains quite clearly and thoroughly.
You feel your heart beat against your chest, you're feeling very giddy. Your excitement causes Bakugou's lips to twitch upwards, carving out a soft smile to which he hides almodt immediately so no one can see him.
All Might pulls out a draw lots box, letting fate decide which teams everyone belong to. You end up being teammates with Aoyama and Mina who you happily greet.
Everyone is asked to stay inside a monitoring room to watch and observe their classmates in battle. When All Might announces Bakugou and Izuku's team being up first, you don't think before walking up to the blond and placing a hand on his shoulder. He turns his head to the side, raising an expecting brow.
"Good luck out there." You smile softly to which he scoffs at. "I don't need luck to win." He punches his palm as he sets of his quirk, "I already know I will."
You roll your eyes, walking towards Izuku to wish him good kuck as well before following the class to the monitor room. Your eyes scan over the wall of monitors, finding it closely similar to the monitor room your house has back in the US.
As you watch Bakugou and Izuku in battle, it's clear to see that there's something going on between them. There seems to be a conflict between them that you can't quite point and as much as you wanted to ask Bakugou about it, you decided to wait until he'd tell you.
Why on earth do you think he'd tell you?
You shake your head and clear your stupid thoughts, stepping away into a corner and sitting down to mentally prepare yourself. As you try to meditate, you don't realise how much time has went by until you're being called by All Might for your turn.
You scan the room but don't spot an angry blond nor an angel look-a-like green haired boy. You pout, hoping to at least see thosep pretty vermilion eyes before the activity.
As you take your steps towards the building, a small smile stretches across your lips when you see Bakugou's familiar back towards you, only for it to smile when you see just how upset he looks like.
"C'mon, Y/n! We're the villains right now we can't be late!!" Mina calls out to you, waving her hand up. You look back at Bakugo one last time, your gazes catching each other before you step inside the building, pulling your mask down to cover your face.
"Hey Mina? Can you let me take charge of our group?" You ask as the three of you make your way towards the room where the fake bomb is. "Alright! We'll be at your command!" She salutes to you a little too enthusiastically to which you chuckle softly at, making sure to smile with your eyes to make sure she sees you're smiling despite the mask covering your face.
After All Might makes sure each teams' statuses are a go, he commences the activity. "Alright. What would you like for us to do, captain?" Mina asks. You stay quiet for a moment, summoning two katanas in each of your hands. You move them around, making sure your wrists are loose and flexible before actually using them.
"You guys can stay still and guard the bomb." You say, adjusting your gloves before turning around to face the only entrance and exit of the room. "I'll have to go and hunt me some heroes."
Tumblr media
"It's been a few minutes since they started and when Y/n suddenly disappeared like that. What do you think the villains are planning?" Tsuyu asks, eyes on the screen as the class continues to search for you in every monitor in the wall, but to no avail.
"I've been seeing a few mice here and there. Do you think that's Koda's doing?" Kirishima asks, to which Denki asks back, "Are the mice you see dead or alive?"
Kirishima furrows his brows at the blond, about to explain how the mice are alive but stops himself when he looks back at the screen and sees the mice he was looking at just a few seconds ago was now dead, body sliced in half. He checks the other monitors as well and his confusion rises even more at the sight of multiple dead mice all over the floors.
"Time is ticking, heroes. You better get to the bomb or if this was a real life situation it'd have blown up by now." All Might says into the mic which puts pressure on the two boys.
The class watches in anticipation as the two steps into a wide and open room, somewhere similar to where Bakugou and Izuku were fighting in a while ago.
"No one's here." Sato states, turning around. "Then, there should only be one room left-"
"Leaving so soon, heroes?" You ask, body leaning on the closed door with one foot pressed on it and your arms crossed across your chest.
Sato and Koda raise their guards, stepping into a fighting stance as theylook at you with such focused eyes. You chuckle, "Your little friends running around the building were pretty hard to find. Not to mention there were quite a handful of them which caused me to reach my speed quirk's limit."
"So it was Y/n who sliced all those rats? But we didn't see her at all. There were no movements in any of the cameras." Sero points out, confusion evident in his face. "Well, she did use her speed quirk. And if what she stated was true, then she'll be no longer to use that quirk of hers, at least during this fight." Iida voices out.
"Two guys against one girl? Isn't that too unfair for her?" Mineta asks, receiving a growl from Bakugou. "If you think her being a girl puts her at a disadvantage you're wrong. If you wanna be a hero, it doesn't matter what your gender is, as long as you're strong."
Despite being in a foul mood, Bakugou still found himself wanting to fight for you. He didn't like the thought of people lookibg down at him, but he found it weird how he preferred it when people not look down at you instead.
"Come on boys. I'll keep this quick and short for you so we can end this activity already." Fingerless boxing gloves appear in each of your hands, they're black but with neon blue accents. You get into a fighting stance, "I really hate sweating."
Sato charges at you, throwing a naive punch at your way to which you dodge easily- scoffing. What was he trying to do, intimidate a little child? As you moved your body to the side, dodging his immature punch, you punch him in the gut, eyes on Koda as you do this.
You hear Sato wheeze before his body falls to the ground. You crack your knuckles, walking towards Koda who begins to panic, using his quirk to call in all sorts of birds and squirrels.
"Koda, this is as scary as being chased by a street gang of kittens." You say, stepping towards him. You step to his side, bringing your hand up to his forehead and flicking it, the contact causing him to tremble before losing consciousness.
Your mother's body guard taught you this- it was a skill he said that most assassins he worked with knows about. He never clearly explained to you how to do it, but as long as your opponent had the slightest bit of fear for you, it will end up working. For Koda's case, he looked like he was about to piss his pants, so it worked out a little too well for you.
"Y/n's team wins this round." All Might announces as the rest of class 1A stands behind him, unsure of what they had just seen.

As the day comes to an end, you learn from Kirishima and Mina that Bakugou has been feeling off since the fight lately. "We tried to stop him from leaving, but he just wouldn't listen. Izuku went and ran after him too. If you go now you should be able to catch up to the both of them." Urataka explains, setting the stack of books she's carrying on a desk.
You run out of the classroom, jumping down flights of stairs to get to the entrance of the highschool as quickly as possible. By the time your eyes finally caught sight of the two boys, they were already talking with each other.
"I wasn't hiding my quirk from you. It was given to me by someone else, recently."
You raise your brows, quickly hiding yourself from the both of them. You place a finger gently on your lips as you stared at the floor, listening as Izuku explained to Bakugou.
The next thing you know it, Bakugou was now yelling at the green haired boy. He sounded so upset, as if he wanted to cry. It was clear as day that the blond didn't like losing, not to anyone and especially not to Izuku.
You took a peak, eyes widening as you see Katsuki Bakugou looking so vulnerable with tears in the corners of his eyes, his brows knitted from being so upset with himself. He walks away, slouching as he wipes his tears with the back of his hand.
You step out of your hiding spot, Izuku's expression growing nervous when he sees you. "O-oh hey, hey Y/n! I didn't... ummm... did you..." He looks down, scratching the back of his head. "Did you hear something?"
You stare him down for a moment, unsure of what to answer before sighing. "I'm not going to say anything to anyone nor ask you about it. But I will tell you this." Your words causes Izuku to look up at you in anticipation. "The second you master that power of yours, you have to fight me with everything you've got. Alright?"
Tumblr media
Bakugou grumbles to himself, kicking at a rock, watching as it rolls into a canal. He huffs, annoyed. "I'd tell you you look ugly when you're mad, but then I'd be telling you you look ugly everyday." You yell at him from behind, causing him to turn around.
"School isn't over yet." Bakugou furrows his brows as he watches you make your way towards him. "And yet here we are." You point out, smiling as you put your hands behind your back.
He sighs, adjusting his bag on his shoulder. "What do you want?"
You take out two pink carnival tickets from your pocket, shoving it at his face and waving it in front of him. "I've always went to this carnival with my mom back in the US and I'm feeling kind of homesick. I accidentally bought two tickets too so now you gotta go with me."
You begin to pull at him to which he pulls back, a bored expression resting on his adorable face.
Adorable?
"No." He grunts.
You smile at him, "I wasn't giving you a choice."

So I finally found a used copy of Pokemon Sword and scrounged up the money to obtain it. I've just earned my first badge.
Review below
I've been critical of these games, which I still stand by in terms of how GF and TPC are handling the series. I do have criticisms that still stand, such as shoddy graphics and recycled animations in a lot of places, Hop being an annoying kiss ass that won't leave my shadow for 2 seconds to let me explore, the rail roading, and of course the whole national dex thing.
I will also say the first gym was pathetically easy. I beat his mere two pokemon with one Corvisquire in exactly 4 turns. There really should have been stuff for type coverage like in pre gen 6 games, imo.
Sound design is also really good in some areas and honestly kind of bad in others, sounding like DS music fonts mixed in with modern music that just seems weird. Bede's theme especially sounds like a remix of something I've heard before, but can't put my finger on.
There's also moments even in docked mode where framerates just SLOSH.
Also Team Yell? Sub par. I hate them more than Team Flare and they don't even have the loveable Pure of Heart/Dumb of Ass vibes that Team Skull had. They're literally egirl stans and that's it so far.
That being said, it isn't as unplayable as initially thought. I did some digging, and pretty well established Switch hackers dispelled fears over the whole NAND chip being used as Virtual Ram and turning the Switch into ticking time bombs. It's clear to me the game isn't finished and needed a bit longer to get some polish in, but it is playable and dare I say fun at times. Of course, the fun is something supplemented by a 23 year formula of fun that is hard to make not fun.
It's simple. New pokemon, collect, trade, battle, hard to mess it up. In a way it's a bit boring with how samesy it is, but at least it isn't a risky and unnecessary departure to that old rumor of a new combat system.
Sound design is creative when done right. There's particularly an area that has music that sounds like pitched wolf howls, which works well in context. The mine and outfit shops also sound great, and dare I say the gym leader's theme for last pokemon is amazing. I'm also rather fond of some upcycled game boy sounds used for saving and trading.
Also this game fixes a problem I've had with gen 6 and 7, in that it actually has been showcasing mostly new pokemon up til this point. In those gens you'd have to really dig for the new shit, especially in Alola, as much as I love Alola. Then again, this might change for all I know.
Outfits are also passable, although I would like regular pants like most npc's that don't just amount to skinny jeans or ankle exposure. I'd love some real boots like from X and Y or something.
So far I'd give this game a 70, which is still technically passing by a hair, but I'm only at gym 1. I just pray the game gets a bit more difficult. I still can't believe the gym was really that easy. I may start going in with neutral or disadvantaged types just to retain a challenge. Seriously, usually if I go in with a type advantage, they can work around it, but if you do this here, it just cripples the usual challenge. Corvisquire was even the same level as Eldegoss.
Anyway, I'm having fun but I'm definitely not seeing any 8 or above material here. I'd say it's a bad pokemon game, but still fun if that makes sense. Same way Sonic Forces is fun but bad.
If you'd like to friend me, my Switch code is SW 1117 2403 6530. I have Sword, so if I come across exclusives you'd like and vice versa, send me an ask. I'd really like a Ponyta tbh
