i’m sooo curious on bill meeting dipper’s parents. i think i remember you mentioning at one point they kinda sucked and treated dip especially bad. i’m sure that’s caused a lot of his long term mental health/self esteem issues and i can’t help but think his husband wouldn’t be too thrilled about that. also they don’t even know he’s married so that’s a whole other thing lol
In the Familiar AU, Dipper's parents shipped him and Mabel off to Grunkle Stan back when they were twelve, actually!
This was initially excused as the twins 'needing to get used to having magic'. Which makes sense! Magical puberty is a heck of a thing, and getting some training's useful to cut down on random magic surges.
But by the end of the summer, they hadn't made any plans for picking the kids up. This when Stan twigged to the real situation.
And by the end of that year, Dipper knew his 'paranoid' assumption was absolutely correct.
So the twins grew up in Gravity Falls, with only very occasional visits back 'home'. Contact's been sporadic, and Mabel's been the one who's clung more to their parent's attention. Dipper hasn't spoken to them unless forced to in years.
So yeah! Bill's not exactly thrilled with the parents - but lucky for them, they haven't met him yet! And they definitely don't know about the marriage. Much less anything else.
#answers#In summary: The twins' parents found out their kids were magical and decided they Just Couldn't Deal with that#They're not magical themselves and giving your kids some Magic Training is a good idea#But at some point you need to actually *take them back*#Which they just. Didn't#Dipper abso-friggin-lutely has a whole mess of issues from that#Abandonment's a big one. Being worth something and good at something? Yep that's an issue right there#Not the least of which is that Mabel as a more Talented and Powerful magic user got more attention when they were still there#Then continued to get more attention via phone call when they weren't#Mabel's got some REALLY rose-colored glasses on about the situation#Dipper sees it for the 'well my kids are freaks but at least one of them is a Cool Freak' it is#That's a fact he's been stewing on for *ages*. A fact bomb that he could theoretically drop on his sister but never did#Needless to say he got the brunt of the Issues™ but Mabel's got her own in turn#I'm also betting there's more than a dash of homophobia in their parents considering their reaction just to Magic#So the parents aren't going to be very thrilled about either of their partners#In my head I picture the parents wanting a Totally Picturesque Family#And creating the visual of one is easier if you only have Pictures of the kids instead of them being there and being themselves#In summary: Yeah The Parents Suck#I started a fic for this once and I still intend to write one but that's a later type of project#I gotta have the right start for it to flow well

Some Tips For Success In Your Home Business
A home business can be exciting and thrilling. You don't have a boss, you get all the profit, and you make all the decisions. While that can be exciting, it can also be worrisome if you don't have the right information. Luckily, here are a few tips to keep you on track.
If you run a business out of your home, don't miss out on tax deductions for office equipment. If you buy a piece of equipment, such as a computer or desk, that is only or primarily used for business functions, you can claim 100% of the cost of that item as a tax deductible the year it was purchased.
Get a dedicated phone line. This is essential, regardless if it's a home or cell phone, if you spend a lot of time talking to clients on the phone. This expense is 100% deductible. If you talk to your clients occasionally, make a note of the calls, and write them off as an expense as long as you have back up to prove that it is a business call.
Make sure that your email address is accessible on every page of your website. It should be super easy to get in touch with you. Customers that can't easily figure out how to contact you will become frustrated, and start looking elsewhere to make a purchase. Don't lose out on that sale because of a missing link.
Be professional in advance. Get everything you need to show that you are a professional business person in advance, This includes business cards, a business phone and business email address. Make sure that all the pertinent information is printed on your business card, and when you hand one out, try to take the name of the person that you have handed it to.
Think of every request for product information as a potential sale, and respond quickly. Customers will appreciate your prompt reply and keep coming back. If you have a website, this is a perfect place to refer people for information, assuming you have added all of the information to the site. Develop a flyer with information and pictures of your best-selling products and have it on hand to mail or hand out.
If you have developed a product that you want to sell on a wholesale basis, identify your potential business customers through search engine results, local stores or word of mouth. Contact these stores via email, asking them if you can send them a free sample or wholesale package with several samples. Follow up after sending to help make the sale.
When you have decided on what type of home business to start, think of a catchy and descriptive name for your business. Your business name should be something that will catch the attention of potential customers who are looking for that specific type of goods or service. For example, "Betty's Distinctive Chocolates" will attract the attention of people who are chocolate lovers.
Always focus on what you want to happen next and plan for it. It is important to celebrate past successes, but they have already happened. Keeping your focus on whatever is coming in the future is more important than past events. By continually updating your knowledge base, you stay up to date with current trends and future obstacles. That way, you won't be blindsided by something you weren't looking for.
Be sure that the home business that you are considering is safe for you and your family to get involved with. Look in to any chemicals or products that may cause your children harm and learn about the best way to keep them stored safely and out of your child's reach.
Submit your home business website to all of the major search engines. Search engines tend to do a lot of your networking for you, if your website is filled with rich, relevant content. If you do your job, search engines will list your website properly and bring it up in relevant results more readily.
Make sure that your home business has contingency plans to deal with unexpected or infrequent difficulties. Pay attention so that you can recognize signs of impending trouble before it happens, instead of being surprised. You can't avoid rough times entirely, but a good contingency plan makes it much easier to weather the storm.
Register your company by setting up a DBA license. Your local bank can help you, or you can try contacting your local chamber of commerce. It is typically cheap and is helpful in distinguishing business and personal accounts.
When you are planning on opening your own home business, make sure you pick a name that has meaning to you. The name of your business is something you are going to be living with for a long time, so it is important that you like it and it inspires you.
As a last resort to combat local zoning laws, you do have the option of fighting back against city hall. You have a number of different approaches available to you. One of the most popular methods is to draw up a petition and collect signatures in support of your business, or you can lobby for a change in legislation.
Track all of your business expenses. This will make filing your taxes easier, and takes the headache out of the auditing process.
A great tip for your home business is to become as knowledgeable about your product as you possibly can. This is extremely important to maximize your growth potential and to provide the best service possible. It is hard to stand behind a product that you are not an expert of.
Taking on a home business can be a dream come true, if you know what you're doing and address what you need to address. Let these tips be a foundation for your business, helping you to grow and keep the right things in mind. A home business can be challenging yet rewarding. Try to have more rewarding moments than challenging moments by learning as much as you can.

Graced by the strength of God, I got through this day a bit more psychologically whole than days of recent, despite the continued persecution against me. I purposely stayed busy, doubling my efforts most times I was blasted. As tired as I've been, I refused to retreat to my bed to go to sleep as urged repeatedly via V2K. I kept right on working, doing chores around the house and checking in with my aunt when it was time. Push, push, push, I did, determined to remain stabilized and productive. Whenever I did choose to relax a bit, I kept the music pumping through my earbuds and read books on my phone.
Worked on my room a bit, or as Angel has taken to calling it, HER room. Got all the spots off the wall. Tomorrow I'll wash it down so I can begin putting up some of her decorations in the new theme we have planned. I won't feel bad over throwing away the navy blue rugs I just bought a year ago. They've started to look cheap. I suppose vaccuming them rather than shaking the dust and dirt out didn't help matters either. Ahhh well. Time for fancier replacements.
Amazingly, I was able to tune out a bit more on the V2K, relying a lot on Grey-Rocking whenever I did feel the need to mentally respond.
Most of it's just been the same ole same ole script anyway from their end. Thinking too much and too hard on it all is depressing so I tried not to as much today, focusing instead on just surviving each day at a time. One day it'll all be over and I'll be completely in God's hands; no one can keep you from death, so just have to "tough" it out until then.
I came outback to chill with a cigarette. No sooner than I did, the B.Y. neighbors came out too because you know, it's not enough they torment me through V2K and DEW's. They still follow the usual pattern of "joining" me outside when I go out. Why? I have no clue. They could stay in their house V2King me all day and night as they usually do. This time though, in addition to continuing the V2K, they cooped up in their backyard and began smoking weed to further get my attention. They know I can't stand that smell. I once complained to dad about it a while back. He just shrugged and said they always do that whether in the backyard or the front yard, as do another particular set of neighbors close to our house. Call me a pussy, I'd actually been hoping he'd snitch them out to the cops to have them shutdown lol If they weren't doing it to try and aggravate me, I wouldn't mind as much. After all, their business is theirs. But I know they're doing it on purpose as instructed by their superiors, all because they know I hate it. Anything I dislike or hate in general they run like a ticker tape, always. Never the things I like or love. Talk about petty-minded sleazy losers.
Besides that, the B.Y. neighbors weed always smells like what my former coworkers at Sunshine used to refer to as "Skunk's weed." The cheap stuff you can smell from a mile away. My god. Smfh. There's literally a cloud emanating from their backyard into Kim's and ours. Like, Jesus Christ folks.
But it's whatever. Earlier, they made a comment referring to Brinley. It isn't sitting well with me nor J, but I'll leave it alone. For now. When they inevitably piss me off again, I might rant about it a little. Maybe. Hell, he isn't as closely involved anymore in this shit with the Elites so it shouldn't matter really. He's been reduced to Watcher status.
Anyhow, it's been an alright day for once. Gotta get up and do it aaaaallllll over again tomorrow. Oh the joys of living 🙄

Hold Back The River • Jackson Avery
Summary: Fighting is never the solution for a relationship and Y/N and Jackson would know so.
Word count: 1337
Tumblr media
Tried to keep you close to me
A relationship was something fun and emotional most of the times. But it isn't when you fight all the time. Or you need to fight for love. Then it's not.
The last few weeks weren't what they were two years ago. Most of the time words weren't spoken but when it did happen. It was more fighting that talking.
"How long are we going to continue acting like this?" You walked into your house, throwing your jacket on the kitchen table in front of Jackson. "Because if we are, then I'm out."
Jackson just kept going on with typing away on the laptop in front of him before you smacked the lid close, catching his attention.
"I don't know Y/N are we?" He replied when staring into your eyes that were glaring at him with tears covering them. "It's what we've been doing for three weeks."
You nodded your head when letting the tears make their entrance on your cheeks. "Then it is be better if we do it forever, i guess."
"Y/N wait- Y/N" But the only response he got was a door closing on his face and led to him leaning his head on the door in front of him.
But life got in between
"You can't just leave Seattle because of him, Y/N. You're my person." You accepted the beer bottle that Andrew handed you as he sat down next to you. "And also Levi's person."
You took a sip from your beer, releasing a sigh because of all the weight you felt on your shoulders. "You two idiots can take care of yourself, i know you can."
Andrew shrugged his shoulder to you. "And what about your job?" He questioned.
"I already have an offer in Amsterdam, I always liked the Netherlands." You said to your best friend who was listening to you. "I'll be fine."
"Amsterdam? Amst- are you crazy?" Andrew scolded when the both of you started to laugh at his words.
Tried to square not being there
"You're sure you're leaving?" Meredith spoke up as the two of you were folding up some laundry. "I don't want you to leave, no one would want you to, you can just stay here at my house?"
You pulled your lips into a sad smile while holding a shirt from Bailey in your hands. "I need to leave, I guess I'm a runner too."
"Who am I suppose to get drunk with? When you're gone?" The blonde woman sat down on a chair, peering up at you from under her eyelashes. "I'll miss you."
You placed your hand on top of her own, nodding your head. "Me too, Meredith, me too."
But think that I should have been
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Opening your closet, you grabbed the clothes of the hangers and threw them into your suitcase while tears ran down your cheeks.
You thought that making this step was easy and a good thing for you, but it did hurt, more than you thought it would.
"So you are serious about this, huh?" Jackson said as he leaned against the doorframe, receiving a quiet 'yeah' from you. "And we can't talk about things?"
You shook your head in denial, closing your suitcase with a deep sigh and a heavy heart in your chest when you started rolling your suitcase towards the door.
"I'm sorry, okay? I really am." Jackson placed his hand on yours but you pulled away as you opened the door and walked out of the door.
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and see where you hide
Hold back the river, hold back
Opening your laptop, your fingers typed in site for a flight to Amsterdam the next week or so.
Transferring the money toward the site, a green sign showed up on your screen showing the flight was booked for next week.
You were leaving.
Once upon a different life
We rode our bikes into the sky
Standing against a silver pole on the boat, you stared at Alex and Jo as they were smiling at each other and Meredith stood in front of them.
"You're in deep thoughts?" A voice spoke up behind you as you slightly jumped in shock, noticing your boss behind you and Andrew smirking at you from the corner of your eye.
"Doctor Avery." You spoke before rolling your eyes at Andrew who was still smirking.
"After last week, you're still calling me that?" You looked back to the man in front of you, frowning at you.
"I'm a resident and I screwed you, I'm embarrassed, can we just drop it?" You rambled to the plastic surgeon before walking off to your friends.
But now we crawl against the tide
Those distant days are flashing by
Placing your bags in the bags into the trunk of the cab, you placed the money in the driver's hand before getting in and driving away. "Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, please."
Raindrops covered the window on your side while the cab drove by the hospital with speed.
"You okay, miss?" The man asked as he kept on driving and following his route but noticing the line of tears in your eyes.
"Yeah, thank you." You mumbled back to the man.
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and see where you hide
"Deluca, where is Y/N?" Jackson leaned his arm on the desk when Andrew kept talking to Carina. "DeLuca?"
"I can't tell you because she said tha-" Carina smacked her brother on the back of his head, giving Jackson a small smile before walking away.
"She said what?" Jackson gave the Italian man a stern face, wanting to know what was going on.
"She's gone, parti, andato via." Andrew blurted, shrugging his shoulders as he started to walk away but Jackson stepped in front of him. "What?"
"Where. Is. She. Now?" Jackson insisted, forming his voice in a harder way.
"Probably in some cab or in the worst scenario she's now at the airport." The Italian resident said, leaning his back against the desk.
"Come on." Jackson pulled Andrew's arm as they both strolled over to the elevator.
Hold back the river, hold back
"Thank you, sir" you said before you went to the departure terminal to find your airline.
Fiddling into your bagage, you took a hold of y your passport, wanting to check in as soon as you could.
Lonely water, lonely water, won't you let us wander
Let us hold each other
"She still has a half hour if you want her back, start searching." Andrew snapped to the man next to him.
Letting their eyes control every single person in the crowd, the both of them started searching for you.
Until Andrew's eyes fell on a leather jacket clothed back.
Lonely water, lonely water, won't you let us wander
Let us hold each other
"I'll be right back, ma'am, one second." The female smiled before walking off. Knowing she'd be taking more than a second.
Feeling a buzzing sound in your pocket, you took a hold of your phone and noticed a selfie of you and Andrew showing up, knowing it was Andrew that was calling you.
Hold back the river, let me look in your eyes
Hold back the river, so I
Can stop for a minute and be by your side
Hold back the river, hold back
"How about you stay here and don't leave me?"
You froze in your actions, staring in front of you, starting to shake your head in denial, not believing this was happening.
"Why- how- when did y-" your words were silenced when you saw Andrew sitting in front of you and knowing there was only one possibility for the person behind you. "Why are you here?"
"I'm preventing you from ruining my life by leaving me."

[SF] 'Chris Allen' part 2 by Connor J Lukasik
So I woke up in a hospital in the year 2070, after being shot and killed in the year 2019. When I woke up, I had no idea about the passed time. My younger brother paid big money to have me brought back, and he also brought back my deceased Mother, Father, and Sister. They died decades after me, and were overjoyed when they saw me again. We went to the house my brother had bought, and that's where my parents filled me in on what happened. My name is Chris Allen, I am 15 years old but technically 66. My story continues here. I stayed at the new house for a week, trying to catch up on history. All of my friends are dead or old now. School is gonna start soon. So in 2033, the US annexed Greenland, and Germany started a world war(again). The third world war lasted 15 years, with Germany, Australia, Venezuela, and Brazil fighting in the name of Modernistic Intrinism, a form of government that centered around extermination of any and all religions. The war ended with the annihilation of Germany. Nuclear weapons, however, were not resorted to in this war, somehow. In 2048, at the end of the war, the UK annexed the land that was once Germany, Russia annexed Australia, and Venezuela and Brazil became Karga, a capitalist nation. Throughout these decades, technology became better and better, and the average human lifespan increased so much that no one had or has gotten the chance to die of old age yet. Again, because of technology. In 2067, the US annexed Canada, and Mexico began considering joining the US. Relations between the US and Russia became better, as the two countries had become allies in the Third World War. Nothing too major has happened since 2067, three years ago. Now it's the first day of school and well... I gotta say I'm nervous. I mean come on... I'll be the only one there from Gen z, and I'm technically 66 years old. Awkward as hell. But maybe I won't be the only one there who is from an older time, I wasn't the only one who was killed in the shooting...aaand I'm here. The school was made mostly of glass, chrome-looking metal, and various wood types. It was a work of art. There's trees everywhere, and flowers and lots of green grass. Butterflies and bees flew around, the bees never bothered anyone and no one seemed anxious around them. I had all my school supplies, I was registered for school, so I walked into the school. No one payed any attention to me, my friends weren't hanging out in the plaza when I got there, everyone was different, I recognized no one. The bell rang, so I got to class. Everyone is tall, even most of the freshmen are at least 6'6". I am 5'10", so I'm pretty short compared to all these kids. I thought that maybe the average person in this time would have skinny arms and legs, but no. It's very common to use medicine to make people strong without working out, apparently. I got to my first period history class, and took a seat. The teacher was this guy who looked to be in his 60's. He introduced himself, and HOLY SHIT that's Jordan, my old best friend. But he's in his 60's now. He looks at me and smiles, recognizing me. The other kids were wondering why this old fuck seemed to know me. Jordan explained to them that him and I used to be friends, back in 2019 but I had died. They seemed at least slightly intrigued by this, but it wasn't like it was anything too alien. When Paul told us to put on the headsets, I was confused but everyone else just swiped there finger across their desk, then headsets materialized on their heads. I did the same, and the headset came over me. I was now in the year 1900, but the rest of the class and Paul were there. I realized that this was VR, and that this is how history is taught nowadays. We were in a busy town, with people rushing to the train station, people rushing to the store, and people reading the news papers. No one payed any mind to us, like we weren't even there, when in reality, it was them who weren't there. Paul began his lecture on the early 1900's and late 1890's. After history class, I went to living economics class, which seemed to be seen as more important in modern schools. I should mention that algebra, geometry, pre-cal, different sciences were electives, because not everyone needs or wants to study those things. In Living Economics, I learned quite a bit about modern society. People seem to be a lot more extrovertive and social, and getting a job is easy. As a matter of fact, doing your job is easy. People usually work around 2 hours on Monday through Thursday, and they didn't work at all on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Some people still make more than others, but pay fully based on how much work you put in, how productive you are, and creativity can get you bonuses in certain jobs. I went to lunch after Living Economics, because school started at 10 am, and it was already noon. I sat with some people that were obviously gamers and memelords, and they seemed very eager to meet me. Word had gotten around that I was from 2019, and some people thought that was cool. I talked to all of these kids, they're names are James, Kevin, Jason, and Sven. The name Sven became more common in the US after Pewdiepie became president of the US and declared war on t series. T series was destroyed, and frankly no one was disappointed. Their YouTube channel got deleted, and pewds tooks over YouTube once again. He is still alive in 2070. Anyway, the group filled me in on how the internet works nowadays. Most of the old websites still exist and thrive, and there are also new ones. Minecraft is still the greatest game of all time. Something I had noticed is cell phones are different. Everyone has a wristband on, and they press it lightly with one finger, then a glass phone materializes in their hand. The screens can only be seen from the front, for privacy. Jason threw his phone on the ground to show me that they just don't break. After lunch I went to PE. To be frank, it was kind of embarrassing but everyone understood. I was the shortest and the weakest in the class. All of my friends were in there though. We had fun, but I had a harder time with the workouts then everyone else. But as I said, they all understood. When PE ended at around 1:00, school was out. The schools in the future recognize that education is important, but it should not be the central focus if our lives. And also, we just google everything, duh. Me and the gang went to the river after I told my parents via a video call. They were so happy that I was making friends so quickly, then I told them how extrovertive everyone is, and I also told them about Jordan. They were like 'damn, ok' then I said goodbye and hung up. Many other kids from the school were there. The river had clear water, and was filled with healthy fish and plants. Around the river was trees and grass and rocks, we hung out on a river back which was made of pebbles and was very clean. A drone flew by and picked up our trash that we had bagged up already. We had no homework, so we spent the rest of the day at the river. At the end of the day, we all said goodbye and headed home. Everyone seemed to like walking places rather than biking or driving. I walked home and ate dinner with my family when we heard the doorbell ring. A screen appeared above the table, and my little brother Mark was at the door. We let him in, and he was, well, overjoyed at seeing us. He lived in northern Canada(still in the US), we live on the East coast. He had to finish up a project for work, then he was able to make his way down here. He was in his late late 50's now, but looked younger, probably due to technology and/or medicine. We all hugged and continued eating dinner, with Mark joining us. He owned a business in north Canada, which is why he had enough money to resurrect 4 people. We gave him one of our many extra rooms, and we all headed to bed not long after dinner. I lay in bed, thinking about the day. I made four friends in not just one day, but on the first one. I speculate that the extrovertiveness and lack of depression is probably because of medicines and/or vaccines. I look up to the ceiling as it turns into a 1 way mirror and I see the stars. The sky is so clear tonight, as it probably always is now. I close my eyes, and I fade into sleep.
(Thank you so much for reading part 2! Feel free to criticize and critique in the comments, and let me know your thoughts on the story! I might make a part three, but don't expect it too much. I feel like this is a good ending. Thank you!)
