Dreams do come true, "The Stars at Night"

It occurred to me today that T'Ana's rant about being a station physician deserved a reaction from Bashir.

And if you're unfamiliar with the Oberth class, it's a fairly small scout and science vessel seen in The Search for Spock and an Oberth was one of the ships that helped to evacuate the Enterprise D crew in Generations.

Wholesome.

One thing that I'm impressed by is how Star Trek is using both 'Lower Decks' and 'Prodigy' to flesh-out the backstory for 'Picard'. Like, the ban on research into synthetic life after the destruction of Utopia Planitia makes more sense with the context that rogue AI starships had already staged a mass-casualty attack on McKinley Station four years earlier; and it becomes far easier to see why Starfleet would call off the Romulan evacuation effort when you know that most of their fleet had already been heavily damaged by the Living Construct.

I just like how well everything fits together.

lol, I can't believe the finale of Lower Decks is about some senior pencil pusher trying to replace starfleet jobs with AI. Amazing.

Boimler: Please, lieutenant, what did you say?

Shax: I kinda said we should eject the warp core.

Freeman: Oh, that's what he always suggests... *gasp* And it's brilliant!

I wanted to capture Captain Freeman's eye rolling reaction to Shax's suggestion to eject the warp core. And really good on Boimler for being assertive to make everyone understand that for once this is a good suggestion rather than having an automatic reaction to tune it out.

Lamp continuity!

I find it interesting that Lower Decks actually adds greater context to the Synth ban in the backstory for Picard. Like, yeah, I can definitely see how two mass-fatality attacks in the immediate vicinity of Earth conducted by rogue AIs within five years (plus whatever AGIMUS and Peanut Hamper are up to) would maybe turn a lot of people towards thinking this technology shouldn’t exist.

Never felt more seen before til they added armadillos to Minecraft..
