The School Carnival Comparison

1st Picture: George and Harold made the very first School Carnival when they became "Principals for the Day".

2nd Picture: In Cutfem (Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie), Captain (Who was disguised as Mr. Krupp) ordered the second School Carnival to "Make his school fun again". ("Free the Children!")

3rd Picture: In Tetocu (The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants) S1 EP7, The Wall Painters painted the third School Carnival. The "AI-Generated" mural includes George, Harold, and other new classmates enjoying this place with happiness and despair.

anyway its funny and fitting that terrance "was the driving factor to sabotaging a giant government toilet" sception is not only

krupp's next door neighbor across the street (see tetocu's s1 finale) but also

most definitely saw him turn to captain multiple times

at this point, he is desensitized to the whole affair. his life was/is already so goddamn weird that a half-naked superhero is barely a blip on his radar. he probably has some prepared measures for several types of monsters of the week or captain himself just being launched into his house

conversely, selainius is not used to this. as aware as she is of things-- much more than biamile-- captain underpants is not one of them. when she moves in with sception and sees that, this leads to a wild/awkward conversation as to why is krupp taking his clothes off WAIT HOW IS HE FLYING????

Oh look, I found some models!

Remember in s1 ep7 where there was a few minutes of the episode that was entirely stop motion with the characters being clay? Well, here are the models of Cap, George, Harold, Melvin, and Claylossus! As the claymation sequence went on, the show was running out of budget for the episode, and the clay models deteriorated in design.

Also- did you know this episode is my favorite of the season? This entire sequence plus the introduction of Bo’s character sold it for me.

I dont feel like we should be treating tetocu in space as season 4 of the main chronology. It's seperate from the main series page because it's totally disconnected from the other seasons, right? the first 3 seasons all had something at least resembling an overarching plot (elitinati in s1-2, summer camp in s2-3, melvin being friendly with george in 301 after the s2 finale, etc). My theory is that if theres another season in the main series, it won't connect to the space series

Todd Grimes himself regards it as season 4, as do others who work on the show. However I do find it odd that it was made its own separate thing instead of being listed as season 4 on the list of seasons for the main series.

There’s also the fact that part of the fandom isn’t really sure that season 4 even happened in the main timeline due to the time traveling in the last minute possibly undoing it. If you look, you’ll see that the boys traveled back to when the school was still in Piqua and you’ll see that the sign is the same as it was in episode 1 of the season.

@princeasimdiya12 and I were discussing if the next season will focus on time travel, but seeing as we are very much going to get another holiday special (as Grimes heavily hinted at to thebrockoppside) right before any other season, it might not be likely. In-verse, the timing would be very odd and especially since we won’t get another season until most likely February (possibly even later depending on how the Coronavirus effected production).

(continued from here) hold the presses because i think i figured out a good way to actually incoorporate tetocu’s expulsion plot into the pmd au:

the impetus for krupp’s decision to amp up the punishment to expulsion i’m hazy about, but i want it to happen at the end of the school-guild expedition plot/s3 equivalent. its been a while since i’ve watched the camp season, let alone the finale, but it has to happen at some point there? maybe?

when they come back to the guild-slash-school, with the threat of expulsion hanging over their heads, the boys hear about endenymys and how he could help them out with that problem. the s1 finale basically plays out like it does in canon before leading into the fugitive plot/s2 equivalent. with the fugitive arc plot, this means that the remaining kids (but mostly erica) has to fill in for the boys/cu to counter borg’s changes to the school

more thoughts re: the pmd au and setup for the fugitive arc equivalent

it sort of mashes up the first two games and the end of tetocu s1. how we get to the next point doesn’t really matter in the end. all that does matter is that it’s in front of everyone

the calamities are not only getting worse, there are some one-off disasters and criminals popping up in and around piqua. tensions rise, teams are now working even harder as a result, and in some cases, can’t keep up.

it should be noted that endenymys is introduced a lot earlier-- while he’s not the friendliest person, he at least gets krupp to back off on at least a few occasions (if only by virtue of rank/keeping order) so he’s viewed as the lesser of two evils. and more relevantly, he’s trusted and knowledgeable. so he throws a theory out to the crowd:

somehow, george and harold are behind this. at first everyone is reluctant to take that at face value, even krupp does a double take. but endenymys continues; literally all of the disasters and villains that have been getting close to piqua are connected with the boys’ comics, so clearly they have something to do with it. at the rate they’re going, it’s going to get even worse until... something really bad happens,

and he says it with such confidence that the boys can’t help but rebutt: how does he know what will happen?

“because i’ve already lived through it.” and then endenymys reveals he’s melvinborg. everyone is shocked, and between the fact that borg’s entire right side is tech-goo-metal and the worsening calamities, it paints a grim picture and the boys can’t exactly refute the damning-looking evidence

and as much as krupp thrives off schadenfreude and seeing the boys scared, the crowd is starting to grow more agitated, he’s still guildmaster, and whatever happens next is on him and on the guild’s expenses and even he has his limits. he steps forward, only to do damage control and not because he cares about those miscreants, though the fact that a bunch of people are this easily swayed is discomfiting and aggravating

and then melvinborg just drops the fact, that, oh, krupp’s implicated in all this too by virtue of being captain underpants. so naturally, if they apprehend them they can figure out how to stop it

krupp tries to call them off, but again the more agitated members of the mob aren’t hearing it, and the idea that he’s that idiot which doesn’t make any sense!

but there’s no time. left with no other option, the boys snap their fingers and captain to fly them out of there
