Xior meeting Sir Talavar In our most recent session in one of my D&D games, Xior and the gang met Sir Talavar. On a check to see if Xior knew the faerie dragon, as Xior is a Noble of Seelie court, as is Sir Talavar, It was said that Xior would have met Sir Talavar as a cub. So I had to draw the meeting, with a worried little Xior and kindly Talavar greeting him.

Alright, so, here’s an animatic I made through SVA’s Continuing Ed course on Storyboarding. Been meaning to learn the principles & software of boarding for a while now, to see if it might be a worthwhile avenue to pursue, &to assess if I could actually shift art-making into my full-time job--?! &Thus, this is my first foray into that terrain. Family Away From Family

It took us a while, but I’m finally starting to see hints of the Feywild that Moms talked about. Though this area is swamp central, there’s bits and pieces of the colorful world they mentioned. And responsive! Maybe it’s just my imagination, but the land itself seems to be greatly influenced by our mood. As we’ve been traveling in good spirits today, the Feywild itself has risen up to match, making our travel a little easier and more pleasant with each leg of our journey.

A big help in keeping the mood up, at least for me, has been Lark’s music. They’ve been playing off and on throughout our travels since we got here, reminding me a bit of home and the bards that would pass through periodically, leaving such wonderful music in their wake. I’m no performer of their caliber, but maybe I should share that song about my mom’s old adventuring group with them.

Both Lark and Eski complement each other well, and I get the feeling there’s a friendship there beyond just two people who work the same carnival together. I wasn’t sure what to think of Eski at first but, outside of the glitz and glamour of the carnival, they are absolutely adorable, especially when it came to helping our new friend Sir Talavar. It’s always nice to be able to help out a fellow knight, and I hope we run into him again, for Eski’s sake.

I think I’m most concerned about how Wynn and Odile are taking to our soggy surroundings. They both seem to be doing well now that we have a fairly clear direction in this place, and Wynn seems fine if there’s something actively distracting her from the wet travel, but Odile is hard to pin down with how quiet she is. I should check in on them both to see how they’re doing and if there’s anything I can do to help. Mama T always said your adventuring group is like your family away from family, and family looks out for each other.

Truth be told, I should check in on all of them before we go into what will likely be a fight with Agdon and their brigands. One of the things that the great Lady Cyn hammered into me during my knight training is that you should always know what you and your allies have to work with in any potential conflict, and there’s much I still don’t know about all of them, especially when it comes to how they handle themselves in action. And since it seems like we have time while the inn makes its way closer to our destination (don’t ask how), might as well get started now…

Well, tumblr wiped all of my conversations I had stored on the right side of the screen....  There were some commission inquiries that either I had planned to get back to, or had placed a potential order, but nothing had been officially decided yet... I’m very sorry, but I’m going to have to have you contact me if you believe I agreed to do a commission for you and you haven’t heard from me in awhile. (please, no new orders just yet... I’ve got to finish these obligations!)

Su preocupación se la expresó a su cardióloga a principios de mayo cuando acudió a su consulta de control de la tensión. Ella recomendó que se evaluara con un oncólogo. Siguiendo la sugerencia de la especialista, pidió a los días una cita en la unidad de patología mamaria del Servicio Oncológico Hospitalario del Instituto Venezolano de los Seguros Sociales —antiguo Padre Machado—, ubicado en El Cementerio, al sur de Caracas, donde le confirmaron que padecía de cáncer de mama. Luis es el segundo paciente que acude en lo que va de año a la consulta de patología mamaria del antiguo Padre Machado. Él es parte ese mínimo porcentaje de la población masculina que sufre de este tipo de neoplasia que suele afectar a mujeres: a 1 % de los hombres venezolanos se les desarrolla un tumor en sus glándulas mamarias. Según el Anuario de Mortalidad del Ministerio de Salud, correspondiente al año 2013, apenas 12 hombres fallecieron por esta enfermedad en el país. Luis ha leído y oído sobre el cáncer. No conoce con precisión que es la segunda causa de muerte en el mundo y en Venezuela; tampoco que el tipo de cáncer que le toca enfrentar es la primera causa de fallecimientos en las mujeres en el país. Para Talavare, quien jamás imaginó sentarse en la sala de espera de un oncológico repleta de mujeres, el cáncer no es una novedad, porque a tres de sus hermanos se les diagnosticó la enfermedad: dos fallecieron y otra logró sobrevivir y tiene más de 30 años con este padecimiento controlado. Con estas experiencias, para Luis es suficiente saber que lo que viene es complicado. Por esa razón no desea oír cifras de mortalidad que instalen luego el pesimismo y no lo dejen descansar. Pronto cumplirá 70 años y desea seguir viviendo. No tiene hijos ni esposa, pero una numerosa familia que, afirma, está dispuesta a apoyarlo en el trance del tratamiento y en el proceso de recuperación. Texto: @elgranaltuve
