Ranking ridonculous race teams bc I’m bored (and biased)

The larpers (Leonard and Tammy)- crazy annoying, good choice to eliminate them first bc I don’t think I could’ve dealt with them for more than one episode

Father and son (Dwayne and junior)- idk why people like them sm bc I actually hated them sm. Junior made me physically cringe every time he was on screen and Dwayne is just…I hate him

Tennis rivals (Pete and Gerry)- idk they just didn’t get much screen time and we’re kinda annoying

Geniuses (Ellody and Mary)- again, just didn’t get enough screen time for me to actually form an opinion

Adversity twins (jay and Mickey)- idk how to feel abt them

Stepbrothers (Lorenzo and Chet)- annoying but had their moments

Mother and daughter (Kelly and Taylor)- Taylor wanted to be the it girl sooo bad it was kinda embarrasing, kelly was good tho

Vegans (Laurie and miles)- they were actually rlly funny but I hate vegans so…

Daters (Stephanie and Ryan)- they were actually rlly funny I can’t even lie

Rockers (rock and spud)- not much to say but i liked them

Best friends (Carrie and devin)- didn’t like them much at the beginning but I liked them more later on

Fashion bloggers (Tom and Jen)- deserved to stay longer, wish they didn’t leave so early bc I love them

Goths (ennui and crimson)- probs the healthiest relationship on the show, love them

Police cadets (MacArthur and sanders) love them, not much else to say but I didn’t rlly want them to win

Surfer dudes (Geoff and Brody)- loved that they brought geoff back and loved Brody as well, wish they had won

Reality tv pros (Owen and Noah)- again, happy that they decided to bring back the og cast, Noah was kind of ooc but wtv still loved him. Owen was also way better this season than he was in the first three seasons so that’s a plus

Sisters (Emma and kitty)- I loved them sm, Kitty was so much fun and I love Emma no matter how much hate she gets. Loved their dynamic with Owen and Noah, plus nemma was rlly cute

Ice Dancers (Josee and Jacques)- funniest team by far, I need josee in Roblox total drama so I can be her (that is the biggest compliment I can give a character)

my opinion on td finalists

spoiler alert, im not a fan of most

TDI: Owen & Gwen

uh I personally don’t like either of these guys for finalists. gwen did do a lot but there were so many times where she just acted so apathetic I was like why?? are you still here?? and as for owen... I didnt like him as a character for a Long Time and he's growing on me but he just doesnt seem like finale material

I think a duncan versus leshawna finale would've been super fun to watch. especially if they teamed up to take down heather in the semifinal. those two had such a fun dynamic, especially in the triathlon episode, that I think taking it to the finale would've been fantastic. also leshawna deserved to win that season and you cannot change my mind

TDA: Duncan & Beth

duncan, while not my first choice, I can see making it through to the finale this season. but beth?? no. im sorry but shes just too much of a side character and is canonically fake nice and annoys everyone else so it doesn’t really make sense

an interesting finale would’ve been duncan versus courtney considering how volatile their relationship was this season. however, bc courtney was kinda awful to duncan, I dont think she deserves to win this season. it would be cool if there was one ending where their votes tied and they made up and decided to split the money but that just feels too tame, both for a finale and for their dynamic

harold versus duncan could be interesting, but because duncan tends to bully harold, I dont think his win would be fair in this situation. I think lindsay versus harold would be the best, as this season is about lindsay learning to take charge and come up with strategies, and while he can be off-putting and occasionally condescending, I think harold has a lot of useful skills that could really flourish in the finale

TDWT: Heather & Alejandro

while I dont ship them at all, I truly dont think there could've been a more satisfying final two. we’ve had their rivalry build up from day one, they have a ton of good songs together, it really completes heather’s arc of antagonist to antihero to protagonist. heather winning is the best ending in my mind, but I like alejandro winning too. the only problem I have with his ending is that it only happened because heather threw in the wrong dummy-- I think it would’ve been more clever for him to have switched them or something like that

ive been thinking about some other final twos that I think would be interesting, though unable to top the canon one imo. gwen versus courtney would be really cool because of the friends turned enemies thing-- I think it would be interesting for courtney to be put in danger and gwen has a choice of saving her or going for the money and she save courtney before apologizing again (maybe dumping duncan) and the two make up and split the money.

though I don’t really enjoy either as characters mostly due to their writing, cody and sierra would be an interesting final two. maybe cody finally stands up to sierra, or sierra struggles with wanting to be the winner of total drama or helping the boy she likes win. it definitely wouldn't be as good as the canon two but there would be a lot of clashing dynamics at play that'd be fun to explore

TDROTI: Lightning & Cameron

admittedly, I don’t remember too much from this season, but it really felt like these two kind of coasted by. I never found lightning to be a particularly compelling character and thought it weird how he suddenly went from dumb jock to evil jock in the last episode or two. cameron really felt like he was just carried through the season, similarly to beth, though I dont have as much as an issue with him winning. I dont think it was a bad finale, per se, I just think if those were the final two they should've been written better from the start

seeing as how jo really played the game and went all in, I think she would’ve been a great finalist. it would’ve been interesting to see her versus (commando?) zoey though im not the biggest zoey fan. I think a jo versus lightning finale could actually work (or brick) though if there was a jo versus cameron finale, I couldn't see him logically winning bc jo would just destroy him

TDAS: Mike & Zoey

*BIG FUCKING INHALE* no. just no. im probably not gonna say anything that’s not already been said so ill keep it short. bland, mal writing bad, have someone who's been in the game for 3 previous seasons instead of 1 make it to the ALL STARS FINALE. jfc.

you know what would’ve been an interesting finale? gwen versus courtney. they both said they wanted to reach the final two with the other one, so maybe they do! maybe they start to struggle with their friendship because of courtney’s competitive streak! maybe one of their helpers is duncan and that causes strife between them! maybe they become enemies again and don’t make up until the finale! maybe they decide to split the money! idk! it would've had a hell of a lot more flavor than what we got

TDPI: Shawn & Sky

I don’t really have an issue with either of these characters making it to the finale. they’re compelling, worked hard, and have distinct goals. I would’ve liked to see jasmine in the finale but I'd be cool replacing either one with her: jasmine and shawn having to compete against one another would be an interesting relationship hurdle and sky versus jasmine would've been cool because they’re both very athletic and it would’ve been the first f vs f total drama finale (we've had m vs f and m vs m but no all-girl finales...)

TDRR: Surfer Dudes & Police Cadets

Again, I don’t really have an issue with this finale. I really like how Sanders and MacArthur both work hard in their own ways and have to learn how to work together (MacArthur breaking Sanders’ arm and realizing that she can negatively affect her partner and also that Sanders is super tough was a GREAT arc). I know there’s been some contention about the Surfer Dudes being eliminated and then coming back so late in the game, but it made sense to me. They chose to lose because they felt that they owed it to Devin and Carrie, and that choice paid off when Devin and Carrie called in a replacement team. I doubt the surfers expected that to happen, they were just trying to be fair, but that kindness was rewarded in a big way which I think was sweet, especially considering how much of a hot mess this show can be.

I gotta say, this does kinda remind me of the TDI finale, with the villain (heather/ice dancers) getting eliminated third, and their rival (gwen/police cadets) making it to the finale with the fun guy (owen/surfer dudes). The reason I like the Surfer Dudes as finalists more than Owen is that I felt they put in more effort during challenges and had more of an arc (with Josee’s mind games ending up bonding them as a team after strife, choosing to be eliminated for the sake of fairness, etc).

Speaking of Owen, it’s kind of ironic that if I had to replace a team in the finale, I would replace the surfer dudes with the reality tv pros. they’re my favorite team and I think it wouldve been great for them to really live up to their name. I think it also would've been funny for the ice dancers to be so focused on their rivalry with the cadets that the pros just completely go under their radar until its the final three and the ice dancers are like “oh crap they’re PROS why haven't we been trying to destroy them??”

I also wouldn't mind replacing the surfer dudes with the sisters. I know emma gets a lot of hate (mostly because of nemma which I only like platonically) but I actually like her as a character (when she wasn’t being obsessive) and I think she and kitty were a great team that had a good arc of learning to work together. I also think it would be really interesting because for the final three they would all have rivalries with one another: the police cadets and the ice dancers (obvious) the ice dancers and the sisters (josee messed with them in at least 2 challenges) and the sister and the police cadets (kitty and macarthur’s game/road rage was hilarious)

Astrid + Shirts

He woke up slowly. One arm slung over her hips, one still holding his dataslate. They had fallen asleep watching some naff training videos, the type you take seriously as cadets and laugh at as officers. Astrid was still asleep in his shirt, eyeliner smudged, small frown still painted on her face. He shifted, brushing some of the blonde hair out of her eyes. There had been less of these nights as of late. She had had more with Esme, he suspected, when not working a ridiculous number of hours. Carefully, he swallowed that bit of anger at the rules back, It wouldn’t help.

Anything that effected her tended to make his not-so-good tendencies worse. Anything that hurt her, he wanted to hurt a hundred times worse. Anything that made her angry, stirred his rage. Anything that thought they owned her, he wanted to correct. Sometimes he wondered if he was actually capable of loving anything properly. All signs very much pointed to no. The closest he came to it was with her and his fighter. They both were his. Isn’t that what love was? Something having you completely and you having them right back?

Idly, he wondered whether she loved Esme. Surely she wouldn’t be quite that stupid. Love between anyone else was for fools. It made you do stupid things, it left you riddled with weaknesses, it was agonisingly human. They were better than that, the same way they were better than everyone really. They didn’t do shit like that.

Lance thought of every person he had ever fucked, ever dated, ever said I love you to. He had felt nothing towards them generally but lust or novelty, and when that wore off, it was on to the next thing. The constants had been Astrid, flight and Anoretta. And he wasn’t even sure he knew Anoretta anymore, if she stirred the same feelings she once did and if he even wanted to find out what he was to her now. He had honestly assumed Astrid had been the same with her dalliances.

Maybe he was wrong.

Swagger

He looked at the demon. The demon looked at him. The slight shimmering of the Warp lay between them, looking for all the world like oil lying on top of water. He kept his fingers by his side, not giving into the urge to trace his fingers through it. Around him, people were murmuring or whispering in fright. Everyone was wearing serious expressions, everyone was at a loss. Bridge looked as serious as he had ever seen him. He knew logically he too should be afraid. But he wasn’t.

It wasn’t that he felt nothing. For once that was not the problem. Instead he was feeling a rush of absolute contempt, a desire to show this fucker exactly who he was dealing with. The Gardener was nothing. Something that could be crushed under his heel, outwitted easily, made to disappear. Easily.

He took a breath, eyes flickering to the small figure curled up at his feet. That was a shock that was sorely needed, dampening down the arrogance that tilted his head up and painted a smirk on his face. He didn’t want to leave them there. Nobody deserved that, or so he was told. He hadn’t yet been in the warp after all. His fingers twitched. He took a breath. Resisting temptation once more.

Father

There was a grief too big to name, sitting in his chest. It sat there for several minutes, dominating every thought, every feeling until there was nothing but the sensation of drowning. So he did what he could. What made sense. He turned it off. He didn’t turn it back on. Not on the Chaser, not when writing the letters he needed to write, not when alone in his room.

It muted everything. He worked steadily and perfectly, didn’t lose his temper, eat and slept and drank. He fucked around the expected amount, frustrated that it didn’t help. Neither did drinking or smoking. Neither did socialising or isolating. The only thing that broke through the ice that had crept over him was the Lightning and the Spiderwidow, who both clung to him tighter than before, as if sensing the fracture lines within him.

The next time he had leave, he would not go home to his father. He wouldn’t embrace him. He wouldn’t make him proud or disappointed or make him feel anything at all. He wouldn’t take his advice or his teasing or see his gentle smile. That possibility felt like an open wound.

He didn’t even have the refuge of memories. Because when he allowed his mind to wander, he couldn’t uncomplicatedly remember the man who raised him. Instead he saw the shadows, the moments where the dark crept in. The constant lies. The manipulation. The bits where his father’s memory seemed to fail that now were obvious symptoms of a mindwipe.

Nothing stayed good in this sector. Nothing. Not even the past.

A Dance With The Ex

This was simple and uncomplicated. Not for Gabriel obviously, but frankly he could go fuck himself. It was simple for Lance. He was being held by a gorgeous man who definitely wanted him but ran no risk of catching feelings. There was music playing and amasec in his system, he didn’t have to care about anything. The only way it would be any better was if Purge would actually fuck him. Unfortunately he seemed to have developed something like a moral compass in their time apart. Like every other fucker he had met recently.

Idly he wondered if Charity was in his league. She seemed to have changed not at all. She still had claws, still liked playing games. She wouldn’t make him think about his immortal soul. It would be a welcome break. He didn’t want to think. He didn’t want to have to try to be good. He wanted to be selfish and unkind and hedonistic.

He rested his head on Purge’s shoulder, feeling the muscle there, the warmth. He wondered if it would help, actually having a partner. It seemed to be helping Astrid in some ways, but not others. Someone to fawn over you, unconditionally. To love you in all your stupidity. Was he supposed to want that?

He didn’t know what he was supposed to want.

An Old School Friend

She loved watching her in battle. She had a ballet dancer’s grace, making the act of killing into an art. She staked across the battlefield, armour glistening with blood, hair stained with it and never looking better. Anna was not usually the type to admire violence. It didn’t disgust her either - she was a Sister after all and a hospitalier at that. But she never had thought it something that could be beautiful until she saw Serene in the midst of it.

They had known each other for what felt like forever but was closer to a decade. They had met in the schola, fierce rivals and best friends. Their dorm room kisses didn’t fade away, meant more than just exploring and fun. It carried on, a thread of consistency as they moved planet to planet, training then fighting then fighting then fighting.

Anna knew Serena’s body as well as her own, through a mixture of sex and medicine, though rarely at the same time. She had sewn her up, held her feverish hand, nursed her, shouted at her, loved her. And Serena defended her, spoiled her, rolled her eyes at her and trusted her. They were not just a team. They were a whole. The only thing they loved more than each other was the God they both served. And that was one priority Anna was okay with being behind.

Cal trailed their fingers in the golden river, though that was a loose term. Because in this space it wasn’t precisely like they had a body and river was simply the nearest approximation their mind could find to the existence they were experiencing. Whatever their fingers touched, they felt. Slices of people’s souls, contextless and isolated. Flashes of feeling, good and bad. Love. Hate. Temptation. Prayers. Cal knew what these emotions were, faintly, as though from a great distance. They were small feelings, unoccupied by the balance of chaos, the love of the Emperor, the fabric of the sector. They were beautiful feelings. Small was not the same as unimportant. Cal could see now what their lover cherished so much about humanity. They admired the species so much it almost broke their heart.

Occasionally there was a tug in the back of their mind, like they were supposed to be somewhere. Like someone was calling their name. It was devastatingly easy to forget all about it, to just enjoy the feeling of being home.

Negotiation Buddies

They made a worryingly good team Lance realised. She stood at the front, resplendent in her gorgeous machinery. She cast an intimidating shadow, the walls of the cave dancing in the light of just a few lanterns. Lance was pretty sure he could never get tired of admiring the gleaming metal and dangerous blades. He kept remembering having the honour to work on it, lowering the internal temperature. Ave Omnissiah.

He was playing blithe. These were heretics, but human ones. Human wasn’t always Mitra’s strong point. So he asked stupid obvious questions, voice friendly and kind, making her the absolute authority, never making her lose face by having to lower herself to the obvious. He approached them unarmed, a move that seemed to never fail to wrong foot people during negotiations. It immediately gave him a safety that even a written document wouldn’t have effected.

He moved back after each statement, listening from the back and whispering orders to the others on the mission. He heard Mitra finishing up and gave his goodbyes to the hereteks. And as him and Mitra walked away, steps completely in step. “So we’ll kill them all later right?” “Of course Lance Durovera.” “Knew we were on the same page.”

Leadership

Maybe it was the recent shifts in command structure. Maybe it was the fact he could feel his insides rotting, Maybe it was the fact he was trying to run a field hospital when he learnt first aid approximately two weeks ago. But he felt utterly out of his fucking depth. Sister Anya would be better at this than him. She was better at this than him.

A small bubble of self-loathing appeared in his chest. If he couldn’t perform his job competently, he really did have no redeeming qualities. The one thing he could always take pride in was how fucking good he was at his work. But he couldn’t cure these people, got a backseat exorcism from Bridge, had his wounds crippling him, and his triage was...fine. Fine. Not brilliant. Not great. Adequate.

There was no glowing praise like there was on the sinking ship, no people thanking him. If he had not been here, the result would have been the same. He had saved nobody, achieved nothing. On the plus, he hadn’t died, nor had anyone on the team.

It didn’t make him feel less fucking awful. The bare minimum never helped. _________________________________________________

Okay, hear me out here Total Drama fans...

Okay so basically most of us already watch the finale of the Ridonculous Race. Even the alternate ending. But some of us were upset with the outcome right? I'm not really that upset but it just that some of us rather want to see a final between: Ice Dancers, Cadets and Sisters. And some of us were okay that the Surfers come back but never actually win. I know we should probably get over it but...

Would it be better if we see a finale between the Cadets and the Ice Dancers? I mean it was more satisfying than both teams that are most likely protagonists are in the final 2. Can we just see a hero team and a villain team fight again in the finale? I just want to see what could happen if its the long rivalry of The Cadets and The Ice Dancers in the finale fighting. That would be awesome right? I mean most of us want to see the result if The Cadets beat the Ice Dancers for the million prize. I want to see the rival last long until the end. That just how it prove that they do hate each other with burning passion.

This can also satisfy all of the audience. Whether if it's a Cadets ending or Ice Dancees ending. Those teams do deserve to be the final two because they work so hard just to reach the top and win everything. Sanders and MacArthur face so much adversity (like they said) and they did face each other problems when they couldn't work together. While Jacques and Josee face so much enemies, adversity, curse and fighting until they get the podium thingy. Even trying to sabotage other teams. Those were hard works too and efforts by the way.

And have you guys even wonder what would be Sanders and MacArthur reaction when Jacques and Josee won? Will they greet them and say it was a good game before calling it truce cutting their rivals but the Ice Dancers fool them again causing for MacArthur to blow a fuse and start to attack them or would they just leave in a huff and never congratulate the two? There's so much possibility. We all know our two lovable conniving Ice Dancers would just laugh at them when they lose or would throw the biggest tantrum when their enemy wins.

And I think it's better if most of the eliminated team should speak. Like the people we miss talking. That would be super great. And everyone also wish that Chris would suddenly pop out and announce a new season with everyone's shock at this.

Oh well...It's already done, but still hope to still see the rival in the upcoming seasons if we ever see them again.
