Albedo is the roleplaying game of furries in a crunchy '80s military sci-fi future setting, based on Steve Gallacci's story "Erma Felna: EDF" from his comic Albedo Anthropomorphics (Thoughts & Images, 1988). Gallacci was a technical illustrator for the US Air Force, so you get both "funny animal" comic art and detailed equipment diagrams:

Welcome, Welcome.
I see I have some new followers.  Given the timing, and what I see of some of your blogs, I am assuming it is because of the shout-out I got from @letters-to-lgbt-kids  (Senpai Noticed Me!)  Tumblr Mom is an amazing lady, and as I always say:  in the unlikely event I ever actually “grow up”, I want to grow up to be like her.  She does the work of the angels.
So, about me:  I am 45 years old, turning 46 later this year.  I am a father and a husband, a freelance tech writer and a homemaker.  I am a Geek, as you can probably tell.  I am (in)famous for puns and “Dad Jokes”.  I am Cis, Straight, White, Monogamous.  My wife, @diannamuircastle, and my daughter, @chaos-and-cake, are both here on Tumblr, but not as active here as I am.
My MBTI is INTP.  Yes, I am one of the rare ones.  I first took the test back in my freshman year of college, administered by a pro, and I have retaken it in both formal and informal settings a few times since.  I sometimes test closer to INTX: my Perceptive and Judgmental qualities are close to balance, apparently.    I’m a Leo, for whatever that’s worth.
I am the leader of the @art-defense team.  Occasionally I vent about stuff here because I don’t want to disrupt the “calm, professional tone” we strive for in that blog.
Speaking of venting: I am a survivor of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse by someone who self-identifies as a Feminist—my mother.  My early life was bitter and violent, and I carry those experiences and those scars with me.  Sometimes I “unpack” about those times on here.  You need to be aware that I do have a dark side, and it isn’t pretty.
Talvin is not my “real” name, but it has been a part of me since the early 1990s. I created it for my character on Sociopolitical Ramifications Muck long, long ago.  At that time, I was a big “Calvin and Hobbes” fan, and so I took “Calvin”, dropped the “C”, and went through the alphabet until I found a consonant that I liked the sound of, and so I became “Talvin”, an anthropomorphic arctic fox based on character concepts from Steve Gallacci’s Albedo.  Only later did I find that Talvin is a given name in some parts of Asia.  My use of it is totally unrelated.  By now, there are more people who know me as “Talvin” than know me by what is on my photo ID.  Some of my daughter’s friends even call me that.
I came to Tumblr for the RWBY fandom, and later I joined the Miraculous Ladybug fandom.
I have two regular things I do on here:  Music Monday and Fandom Friday.  On Music Monday, I post five songs from my (overly large) YouTube Favorites list.  On Fandom Friday, I do the same thing with AMVs or just scenes around one or more of my various fandoms.
I write Miraculous Ladybug FanFic (for some reason I cannot seem to get into the RWBY fics, it’s a mystery to me as well), usually drabbles or vignettes.  You can find my stuff on AO3 here: http://archiveofourown.org/users/Talvin/works  and also here on Tumblr.  I also write original short fiction, and you can find some of it here on Tumblr.   A lot of it was published on LiveJournal, but I don’t play there anymore, so occasionally I dig something out of my files and put it here.
When I was a kid, I had friends twice my age and half my age.  My daughter has inherited this tendency from me.  Now that I am middle-aged, the range is even wider, though sadly the ones twice my age are fewer each passing year.  I had friends who fought in World War II, and they are all gone now.  I have friends who were not alive when 9/11 happened.  History is a boat ride, and you don’t know what the seas will be like.  Still, despite some grumbling from the other graybeards, I rather like the younger generations and where they are going.  Oh, you are making mistakes, but that is how you learn—and you seem to have learned from some of my generation’s mistakes.  Wish we would!
So that’s who you chose to follow.  I don’t always follow back.  Please don’t take that personally: I have a touch of ADHD, and I manage it pretty ruthlessly.    I just got an upgraded iPhone, and the first thing I did was to go through and turn OFF most of the notifications, because if I can be distracted, I will be, and so I refuse to be.  When you have ADHD, Social Media is dangerous!
If you have a question, ask.  I am much nicer and gentler if you ask me privately or just use your account name than if you use anonymous:  I leave anonymous asks open because there are some real jerks out there, and I have no problem teaching them manners if they bring it to me.  I get anon hate, but I seem to rarely get it from the same source twice, for some reason.
Still here?  Good for you!  Welcome aboard the madness that is my Tumblr Blog.  Even I can’t predict what I will do next.  Enjoy the ride!

What is FANDOM? What does FANDOM mean? FANDOM meaning - FANDOM pronunciation - FANDOM definition - FANDOM explanation - How to pronounce FANDOM? Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under http://ift.tt/yjiNZw license. Fandom is a term used to refer to a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of empathy and camaraderie with others who share a common interest. Fans typically are interested in even minor details of the object(s) of their fandom and spend a significant portion of their time and energy involved with their interest, often as a part of a social network with particular practices (a fandom); this is what differentiates "fannish" (fandom-affiliated) fans from those with only a casual interest. A fandom can grow around any area of human interest or activity. The subject of fan interest can be narrowly defined, focused on something like an individual celebrity, or more widely defined, encompassing entire hobbies, genres or fashions. While it is now used to apply to groups of people fascinated with any subject, the term has its roots in those with an enthusiastic appreciation for sports. Merriam-Webster's dictionary traces the usage of the term back as far as 1903. It is formed of the word fan plus the suffix -dom (as in kingdom). Fandom as a term can also be used in a broad sense to refer to the interconnected social networks of individual fandoms, many of which overlap. Fans of the literary detective Sherlock Holmes are widely considered to have comprised the first modern fandom, holding public demonstrations of mourning after Holmes was "killed off" in 1893, and creating some of the first fan fiction as early as about 1897 to 1902. Outside the scope of media, railway enthusiasts are another early fandom with its roots in the late 19th century that began to gain in popularity and increasingly organize in the first decades of the early 20th century. A wide variety of Western modern organized fannish subcultures originated with science fiction fandom, the community of fans of the science fiction and fantasy genres. Science fiction fandom dates back to the 1930s and maintains organized clubs and associations in many cities around the world. Fans have held the annual World Science Fiction Convention since 1939, along with many other events each year, and has created its own jargon, sometimes called "fanspeak". In addition, the Society for Creative Anachronism, a medievalist re-creation group, has its roots in science fiction fandom. It was founded by members thereof; and many science fiction and fantasy authors such as Marion Zimmer Bradley, Poul Anderson, Randall Garrett, David D. Friedman and Robert Asprin have been members of the organization. Media fandom split from science fiction fandom in the early 1970s with a focus on relationships between characters within TV and movie media franchises, such as Star Trek and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. Fans of these franchises generated creative products like fan art and fan fiction at a time when typical science fiction fandom was focused on critical discussions. The MediaWest convention provided a video room and was instrumental in the emergence of fan vids, or analytic music videos based on a source, in the late 1970s. By the mid-1970s, it was possible to meet fans at science fiction conventions who did not read science fiction, but only viewed it on film or TV. Anime and manga fandom began in the 1970s in Japan. In America, the fandom also began as an offshoot of science fiction fandom, with fans bringing imported copies of Japanese manga to conventions. Before anime began to be licensed in the U.S., fans who wanted to get a hold of anime would leak copies of anime movies and subtitle them to exchange with friends in the community, thus marking the start of fansubs. Furry fandom refers to the fandom for fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. The concept of furry originated at a science fiction convention in 1980, when a drawing of a character from Steve Gallacci's Albedo Anthropomorphics initiated a discussion of anthropomorphic characters in science fiction novels, which in turn initiated a discussion group that met at science fiction and comics conventions. Additional subjects with significant fandoms include comics, sports, music, pulp magazines, soap operas, celebrities and videogames.
