ive been kind of inventing this imaginary reality where erma felna was adapted into a cartoon in the 80’s fitting into the niche of funny animal cartoons at the time a la tailspin but taking a sci fi angle with it, it would be majorly dumbed down for kids but still have a pretty significant effect on the culture at the time, with full knowledge that it was based on a much darker indie comic (similar to what happened with TMNT i guess) not sure where the comic would have gone after that but i assume it would have gotten more popular. i guess this is also a reality where erma is the comic from Albedo that had the enormous success that usagi yojimbo went on to have. so the comic is enhanced in cultural memory because of the cartoon and later on there’s a renewed interest and another animated series is created with intent to do justice to the comics which ends up releasing on netflix or something and its a huge bomb but has some appreciators but the cartoon is still pretty beloved and its a cool artifact and some fun furry sci fi even if it didnt really do justice to the comic
